Southwest Endodontic Specialists specializes in endodontic (root canal) therapy. We are dedicated to providing our patients with the highest quality endodontic care using cutting edge technology in a comfortable and relaxing setting. All procedures are done using a dental operating microscope to allow the highest level of accuracy.

We are one of Houston’s most established and prestigious endodontic practices, treating patients in the greater Houston area since 1977. Our goal is excellence in the treatment of our patients and we are committed to continually exceeding expectations. Established in 1977.

Southwest Endodontic Specialists was established in 1977 by Dr. Stephen Cheff DDS and Dr. Jeff Hoover DMD. It is currently owned by Dr. Ron Hill DDS MSD.

Business Owner

Dr. Hill received his dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston Dental Branch in 1997. He completed a hospital-​based residency and received his Certificate in General Practice from the University of Texas and Hermann Hospital. After 9 years in general practice, Dr. Hill returned to continue his training and received his Master of Science Degree in Dentistry and his Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston Dental Branch in 2010, where he continues as a Clinical Assistant Professor.

Dr. Hill is board certified in Hospital Dentistry. Dr. Hill is a member of the American Dental Association, The Texas Dental Association, The Greater Houston Dental Society, The Southwest Society of Endodontists, and the Houston Academy of Endodontists.

The experience I had this morning with the staff and Dr. Goodman was excellent!
I have had multiple root canals dating back to the early 60’s and this was probably the best experience I have every had with this type of procedure. The staff was accommodating and courteous. I was having lots of pain and the endodontist I had used a couple of years ago in Sugar Land could not make an appointment for me for a week! I looked at my dental insurance website and Southwest Endodontics was one that was listed. With some fear and trepidation about using a new dentist, I called and asked about an appointment. I was treated with respect and scheduled for an appointment the next morning. When I arrived and filled out the paperwork, I was immediately taken back to the very comfortable exam room. Dr. Goodman came in and we discussed my pain and what could be done for me. He provided updates as he progressed and completed the procedure in a timely and efficient manner.
I just can’t say enough about the courteous, efficient people at Southwest Endodontics.

I recently had a root canal performed by Dr. Goodman Southwest Endodontic Specialists, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish.
The office staff is friendly, professional, courteous, and understanding. When my benefits ran out and I couldn’t afford the permanent filling and crown until the beginning of the year (a little more than a month later), Tameka went to Dr. Goodman and they put in a longer lasting filling to get me through.
Free of charge.
Meanwhile my regular dentist’s staff was using scare tactics to pressure me to get it done immediately. — It was truly heartwarming to know that some people still care about the patient more than money.
Dr. Goodman took the time to do things right. He showed me the problem areas before and after, and even chose to not finish the procedure the first time due to the infection that had formed in the abscess in my gums. While this meant coming back for a second round, it will prevent further problems down the road. I appreciate that.
I can’t thank Tameka, Dr. Goodman, and the rest of the staff at Southwest Endodontic Specialists enough.
They are Highly Recommended.

After weeks of a toothache, my general dentist referred me to an endodontist. I was able to get in to see Dr. Hill at Southwest Endodontics the next day. The friendly office staff was on the ball and I saw Dr. Hill quickly. He put me at ease and made my visit very comfortable. Everyone was so nice and I was in and out of there surprisingly fast. I would definitely go back to Southwest Endodontics if I ever find myself needing more dental work!

Called them on a Monday, was seen the next day in the morning. I was skeptical when they told me over the phone that I could go back to work the same day, even if examination reveal that I need a root canal.
So I went in at 8am on Tuesday, got confirmation that I needed a root canal, had one, and was out at 9am. Friendly staff/​dentist who joked about the silly nature of how I got there (sports related injury). As they promised, went to work immediately afterwards and put in a full day of work. General soreness for a few days as expected, only needed to take the recommended 400mg of ibuprofen the day of the procedure.
I hear horror stories about root canals, and let’s face it, no one wants to have one. But if I ever need another one done (God forbid), this is definitely the place!
