Moeller’s Bakery

I had never heard of this bakery until I had their petit fours last night at a Christmas party in West U. They were melt in your mouth delicious! I will definitely be going to the bakery to pick up some for myself!

Great cakes, cupcakes and pastries… But lacks in service, I’ve been there several times and each time its been painfully disorganized and slow. I think the cash register has been there almost as long as the bakery itself, OH and there is only 1. ONE cash register so even if you are being helped by someone you still have to wait for your person to be able to use the cash register… where everything/​all item are manually entered per price and added up… SO this all equals a SLOW process. I love small businesses but with so many people coming in and what appears to be such low overhead maybe bring things up to speed a little.

Umm sugar cookies shouldn’t have a lingering aftertaste you want to scrape out of your mouth. I was surprised when my child did not want it, but it was burned on the edges and tasted like rotten oranges. Secondly, Cheese and sprinkles hire some new counter help! Seriously if you cant handle the simple task of putting a petit fours in a box without being an ogre get someone who can. Jeezus the attitude of this person onnumerous occassions is just awful. Even my four year old was like «lets just go». If you dont want people to ask what something is make a sign or label. And if you dont want someone to ask you to repeat yourself DONT SPEAK INTO THE DISPLAY CASE. COMMON SENSE, MANNERS, and a COOKBOOK.

I’ve never had a petit four before, so I feel like I have discovered a small piece of heaven. For scientific purposes (of course), I had to get both the chocolate and vanilla petit fours, so I could decide which one was better. The chocolate petit four was very rich and decadent, but I think I liked the vanilla one better. The taste of vanilla was so pleasant, and the petit four was nice and light. The best part was the frosting– I usually do not like frosting. I hate how sweet most frosting tastes, but the frosting on the petit fours had the perfect amount of sweetness.
I deducted one star because I found the woman who helped us to be somewhat rude and not very personable at all. But since the petit fours were SO delicious, this was not a deal breaker for future visits.

I run a group called Kid Fun Houston, and I have over 19,000 families that follow my group. I have been working with James over the past year, and we have been providing tours of the Moeller’s Bakery to my members. The sign ups for the tours are offered on a first come, first serve basis. When I post the link to sign up, these events fill up in a matter of seconds. I often have over 100 families on each wait list.
Moeller’s Bakery welcomes us into their home. They provide an amazing experience for the kids and the parents. The kids wear chef hats and aprons, tour the kitchen, roll and make cookies, decorate cookies, and much more. Everyone that attends these events has nothing but positive things to say about them.
When I moved to Houston years ago, I immediately learned that Moeller’s Bakery was the «go to» bakery for petit fours. Over the past year, I have learned more about their cakes, cookies, breads, etc. Everything is delicious.
If you are looking for a bakery that you will fall in love with, Moeller’s Bakery is the place for you!

I bought 4 petit fours. 3 vanilla and 1 chocolate. The cake itself was so light and airy, and the frosting was thin and sweet. I liked it. My husband did not. He thought it was too sweet. The total came ot to $ 8.50, which is pretty expensive for 4 small pieces of cake. But I thought it was delicious and ate almost all 4 pieces since my husband didn’t like it. I prefer the vanilla over the chocolate.

Do not order a cake for your special occasion from this bakery!!!
I had heard about this bakery through a friend of mine, so I thought I’d pop in and ask about them making a cake for my best friends bridal shower. Brought a picture in with me and they said oh yes we can make this cake. I even went to a cake supply store and bought all the pearls, bow and flowers for the top of the cake. I went back a week later to drop off the supplies and reconfirm I’d see them sat for pick up. The baker then said we can’t make this cake because we don’t sell fondant. I said excuse me? You can’t make this cake because you don’t have fondant? What about the cakes in the windows? The wedding display cakes. The lady explained the displayed cakes in the window were dummy cakes and they no longer have fondant that those were made years ago! So they are false advertising what they can make. They offered to make my cake with whip cream and try to give it the smooth appearance I desired. But they stated it would start melting after 4 – 5 hours and have some bubbles in it, (whatever that means) I am so furious with this bakery because if I had not gone up there to check on them and drop off the supplies, my best friends bridal shower would have been a disaster when I showed up sat to pick up the cake! Who owns a bakery and doesn’t have the proper supplies to bake a custom cake but will gladly take your money??! I gathered all my supplies back and had to scramble to find another bakery last min with only 3 days left to do it. Very disappointed in this bakery and will be filing with the BBB about the «false advertisements» in the window. DO NOT trust this bakery with your important event cakes, they will lie, mess them up or you will get a cartoon cake as the end result.

THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE BAKERY!
They make THE BEST gingerbread men EVER and they make them year ’round…I didn’t know I LOVED gingerbread men until I had them here!
Definitely a huge hit at any holiday party! You just have to try them!

Excessive pricing for what you get. Not impressed.

Simply put — -the BEST!
I have had birthday cakes from Moeller’s for 31 years and don’t plan to stop! Live in NYC now and had my share of sweets, but nothing is as good as Moeller’s white cake and icing! The texture is always perfectly fluffy and their icing is the best, hands down! A place where EVERY calorie is sooo worth it!
Second best– vanilla petit-​fours. Bite-​size, perfect cake again, and always moist bottom with thicker petit-​four icing.
Their birthday cakes are soo good my mom has tried to mail me one once and brought one on the plane all the way up here. It is a MUST in Houston when visiting. Take note – get to the store earlier in the morning and day as they bake fresh every day and its first come, first serve unless you have an ordered cake. Other things to try: sugar cookies, ginger bread men, carrot cake. amazing!
Again, Ive searched NYC-​been to Italian bakeries, French ones, and my favorite up here is Magnolia (in comparison… magnolia’s cupcakes are very good and have more of a buttery buttercream icing, than Moeller’s rich rich sugery vanilla icing… so rich you need a glass of milk or a coffee! Magnolia’s cakes are good too, but consistency is not always there compared to Moeller’s…at Magnolia can get a fluffy cake or a more hardened cake), but nothing matches Moeller’s!

A cute little neighborhood bakery – you can tell it has been there forever. A little old lady in the store commented, «you can’t have a bad day when you start it with Moeller’s.» It seems that birthday cakes are their specialty, as many boxes were all lined up along the wall waiting for pickups. But the other pastries were just OK – cookies were basic and a little dry, and the petit fours were almost too sweet.

Customer service at it’s best! I frantically called around to local bakeries looking assistance on fixing a cake I bought elsewhere. At the last minute, they told me to bring in my cake, and touched it up for free. When I offered to pay, they refused saying they just wanted to make sure I had a happy birthday. Not only were the employees willing and eager to help, the cakes and desserts looked amazing! They have definitely earned themselves a loyal customer in me!

As far as I can tell, there’s not a sweet in this place I wouldn’t devour.
I called to place a large order for their famous petit fours, and the process was easy as pie.
Speaking of pie, HAVE YOU SEEN THEIR PIE CASE?!
Anyway, I picked up my order, which was boxed up and ready right on time, and then I looked down. There, sitting behind glass, as if they had done something wrong were 6 beautiful raisin cinnamon rolls.
«Is that all for you?» A voice from behind the counter inquired. «No.» Those 48 petit fours were not all for me. I needed those buns. I thought I’d be adding 6 bucks or so to my order, but guess what guys?! Those beautiful buns were on 1.95. So duh.
The cinnamon rolls and the petit fours made it back to my place safely. But none of them lasted beyond the day.
Go. Go now. If you’re still reading this and their open, life’s short. You deserve that cake, pie, cinnamon bun,…

A friend brought a box of vanilla and chocolate petit fours over for dinner the other day. I’ve heard the stories about Moellers’ legendary petit fours many times before — I have family friends from Fulshear who take their out-​of-​town relatives all the way into the loop for some pastries from this little bakery, which says a lot about their reputation.
I can testify that Moeller’s petit fours are amazing. They melt in your mouth instantly. I prefer the chocolate ones because I like the layer of coca aftertaste, but some other people who tried it with me did enjoy the vanilla better. I think it just depends.
I’d like to try their carrot cake next!

If you’re attending a potluck and want to be the most popular person there, pick up a loaf of carrot cake at Moeller’s. Everyone will be asking you where you got it, or if you’re a fraud who pretends you made it, you’ll get some requests for the recipe.
It does have a homemade feel to it because it looks so plain. But don’t be fooled by the exterior; it’s really, really good, especially the cream cheese frosting. Unfortch, I wasn’t the most popular at my last potluck. I was the one (shamefully) rushing to get rotisserie chicken at the grocery store after work.
Now that I’ve discovered my new secret weapon, I’ll be frequenting this bakery. I may even toss in some petite fours, but I’m not sure I can handle all the fawning: p

Parking is really weird, best to park next door at the bowling alley parking lot.
So many varieties of cookies, cakes, Danish. The 10 mins I was there, there were lots of regulars.

It was quite busy in there so I didn’t want to hold up the line and ask for a show and tell.
I came to purchase a lemon chiffon cake for a party. My first time trying this cake was at a friends house. I recommend having it in the fridge. So the cake & icing can be more firm. I had it room temperature and it wasn’t that yummy. It’s a light lemony cake. Something different I might say. Nice lemon glaze & soft lemony cake.
I also got some chewy pecan cookie? I forgot the name and I might say it was yummy. It’s not too sweet & kinda on the bland side side. Some reason it got me coming back for some more. It’s chewy & crunchy.
Can’t wait to come back!

This place is fantastic.
I know my family has been using this Bakery since the 1970’s and onward. Everything here is freshly prepared, using old family recipes and it is well priced. You gotta pay attention on your way there or you will pass right by it.
I like the white cake, the chocolate is good too but the white cake just has a perfect taste to it. If I ever get married, my wedding cake HAS to come from here. I carry on the family tradition by getting birthday cakes and holiday treats from here.
Stop in and get a treat, you’ll be glad you did!

In an effort to eschew the default birthday cake vendor (read Kroger or H.E.B) in favor of a real bakery, I found Moeller’s. As I dig into a giant piece of melt-​in-​the-​mouth Italian Crème cake, I am without a care in the world. My ordering experience was perfect and professional. I picked up the cake 30 mins earlier than my scheduled time and the cake was ready to go. The people at the bakery were sweet, welcoming and kind. Presentation, taste and customer service– A+. ‘Nuf said.

I chose Moeller’s after reading some of the reviews. Unilocal rarely lets me down. I called down to the bakery to order a cake for my best friends birthday. She loves carrot, but I wanted it decorated other than your standard Kroger special. The lady on the phone was super nice, helpful, and I couldn’t believe how affordable it was.
When I went to go pickup on a Saturday mid morning, it was busy but I got helped right away. The cake was so freaking cute! I really loved the look of it. Of course I couldnt leave this place without picking up a few cookies and other small things for my family, and they were so cheap, like .25-.50 each. I don’t know anywhere that charges those prices anymore!
The cake. man. it was a hit! Everyone loved it, the taste, texture, all right on. The presentation was really cute too, even our server who brought it out asked me where I got it.
100% satisfied. I will be back, and I highly recommend it!
