Mia Bella Trattoria

Lovely atmosphere! Though I wasn’t blown away by the food, it was decent. Our server was great and gave us a free dessert when he realized I had gotten the wrong entrée.

I met two friends before going to a concert here. The restaurant was excellent and did not feel crowded or cramped.
The wait staff was very attentive and the food was really good. The table was set nicely, and everything really felt nice and clean. I would definitley go here again as we had a wonderful dinner that made the night start off right.
Definitely reccomend.

Excellent capellini de mare. Ceasar salad was nice. Bread is awesome. The reservation person was over the top like it was going to be so busy, but it was not. Bar was in the dining area which was ok, not a bar to eat at. Across fro House of Blues. Will come back.

I don’t usually Unilocal but this place was absolutely terrible. First off, the service was absent. We waited many times and got multiple waiters who were unaware if we had already been served. We got pizza and seafood pasta and both were extremely bad. The scallops tasted like plastic melted on top of fish sticks with a dash of chlorinated pool water. The pasta sauce tasted like sauce you can buy at Costco and the pizza was bland and tasted worse than microwaved pizza. Overall, I am not at all a picky eater but I seriously did not enjoy this restaurant at all.

The lunch today at Mia Bella was was excellent. This was the first time to Mia Bella although I only live about two miles away. Being downtown is probably a drawback for those that do not work downtown but if you near for the weekend you should check it out, very good pizza.

The food is great! Had the lamb and eggplant parm. Would definitely recommend this for dinner.

This is a nice place for lunch! It’s not expensive either. They have great lunch specials which great if you’re having a big group lunch. Their tomato soup is so good and warm. Also their table bread and olive oil are bomb!

Food was amazing, fresh and light. The bruschetta was great, the kids enjoyed the patio. Although our server could have been friendlier, the food was enough to make us come back. I enjoyed the spinach cannelloni.

Absolutely amazing food for brunch. I’d expect to pay a lot more for food as good as this was. Service was also impeccable!

They’re bread was amazing. I’ve never had a better pesto sauce in my life. My biggest mistake was not just eating the pesto sauce and bread the entire time. I’m not being hyperbolic it was the best pesto sauce I’ve ever had.
The service was good. The servers were situationally aware and catered to our needs. It seemed like they were invested in our decisions and they were really accommodating.
I had the salmon. It was bad. There was way too much salt which eclipsed the salmon’s flavor. The side dish wasn’t complimentary to the salmon whatsoever. There was asparagus and rice pilaf with sliced grape tomatoes and slices of grapefruit. The flavors worked poorly together and I didn’t enjoy the dish at all.
The bread and the service were so good I would still recommend it. Just don’t order the salmon.

Their food is always AMAZING. I’m a picky eater (the type to only like kids meal) but I’ve been able to enjoy the food here and explore with their menu. Their customer service is EXCELLENT, they sweet and very welcoming.

A large group of us (25) had lunch here. Prior to having lunch a friend and I went in the day before, we spoke with the catering director Geovanni Negron to see if they could accommodate us. Also we had several people that were vegetarian. He came up with a special 3 choose menu for us where people could choose from soup or salad, a beef, chicken, seafood or vegetarian dish, dessert, unlimited bread, coffee/​tea for a set price. It was fantastic, great food, atmosphere and very friendly/​attentive staff. A great place to go for lunch or dinner.

A downtown Italian restaurant should be pretty pricey right? Wrong. Mia Bella’s is such a great bargain. Authentic Italian dishes, most of them under $ 20. The rainbow trout was my favorite dish of at the table, because it was mine. Watch out for the pork chop, that thing is massive! They have a good wine selection as well. I visited for a birthday dinner, and they happily accommodated our party of 12+.

Ate here while on a business trip in Houston and absolutely loved it!
Bread and oil had an awesome flavor, pizza for appetizer was very flavorful. All of our entrée’s would great also. If I remember right I think our servers name was Christopher and I highly recommend him. Very polite with great manners and really took care of us. Will definitely go back when in Houston again.

I’m only giving this place 4 stars because it was so hot inside. Our waiter was very attentive. this by far is the best priced brunch if you want to drink. 3 $ mimosas, Bellinis, sangria, & bloody Mary’s. I usually get some sort of egg dish and hate that most places charge so much. Here most of them were all priced 7 – 9 $ AND came with fruit which I have to pay extra for. I got some egg white omelette and it was healthy & yummy.

We had dinner at Mia Bella before the Garth Brooks (early) concert on July 3^rd, selection was based on their location and the good reviews. We arrived 30 minutes early and were seated immediately. The entire staff was welcoming and attentive. The only negative was the temperature in the restaurant, it was much too warm. I had read reviews from the weekend before and it was noted that their air conditioner was «out», I thought with a week passing it wouldn’t be a problem but apparently they are still having problems.
Our waitress was knowledgeable about menu, but not too informative regarding the wine list. We ordered the NERO D’AVOLA, which of course was a bit warm, as most restaurants in Houston, but without the A/​C it was too warm. The waitress brought us a wine bucket, once it was cooled down we enjoyed the selection.
The PIZZA MARGHERITA was our appetizer, which turned out to be a great selection but a bit much as an appetizer for two. Fresh tomatoes and chiffonade basil topped the perfectly baked crust, which appeared to be hand tossed and a bit thicker than the usual Roman Style thick and crispy crust.
My wife had the FRESH CAPELLINI DI MARE which was beyond her expectations! The capellini was topped with 5 scallops, 4 shrimp, and a couple of mussels and clams, in a nice semi-​light tomato-​garlic sauce. I had the PARMIGIANA DI POLLO at the recommendation of our waitress after I threw out of couple of options. Not your typical «chicken parmigiana», but exactly as the menu described. Hugh chicken breast stuffed with spinach, mushrooms, roasted red bell peppers and cheese, with a very light breading crust. The chicken was sitting atop a nice portion of Capellini covered with a tomato basil cream sauce with more spinach and roasted red bell peppers.
While the restaurant was packed our server was kept watch over us to ensure we had everything we needed.
Two different gentlemen stopped by the table to ensure everything was good and we were being taken care of. One appeared to be the owner, as my wife asked if this was «his place» and he said «yes.» The other appeared to be the chef or manager. In spite of the air conditioner issue we had a great meal and excellent service; we will be returning.

Mia Bella was a convenient option for me while I was at an event in downtown Houston. It wasn’t overly crowded during the lunch hour but there were several patrons enjoying their lunches. I was greeted and seated immediately. They had a lot of great options including a well priced executive lunch special. My food came out quickly and tasted great. The dessert (chocolate mousse cheesecake) was absolutely fantastic.
I really want to rave about my server, Omar. He was attentive without being intrusive. Being a very hot day, I downed several glasses of iced tea during my meal. Omar took the initiative to get me a cup to-​go without my even asking for it.
Definitely a great place for a relaxing lunch. I will definitely be back

My friend and I I had a fantastic time at Mia Bella. Our server, Bryan, was incredibly personable and knowledgeable he made the restaurant feel like home and answered a lot of our questions about good food around Houston.
The food was fantastic! I had the Crepellas di Pollo and they were the perfect portion for me. We bought the Ruffino Chianti and thoroughly enjoyed it! The atmosphere is comfortable, yet modern.
For those who don’t know, Mia Bella is attached to Andalucia, a tapas restaurant that is equally as enjoyable! We had happy
hour drinks there with a few tapas plates there.
Mia Bella is definitely worth a try if you’re in the mood for some great Italian food!

Downtown Houston isn’t exactly bustling at night so my hopes for a good dinner were not exactly high. We stumbled into Mia Bella and wow what a surprise. Only had two dishes but both the Caesar Salad and their version of Chicken Parm were outstanding. Stuffed with mushrooms, spinach, and peppers, over angle hair with a light cream sauce. I ate every spec and tempted to order another.

Great place to visit for a quick bite before a concert at either House Of blues, or Toyota center. It’s directly next to HOB, and only 2 blocks from TC.
The service was OK, and the atmosphere is very casual. Reasonably priced, so don’t expect the fine dining vibe.
Food was good, and we made our concert in time.
