I’ve never heard of a «kolache» before and after reading the reviews about this place I had to try it out. The cashier that explained to us what these were couldn’t be any nicer. He took his time to explain everything to us and all of his suggestions on the food were point on.

Ive been here a handful of times and every time js different but todays visit was exceptional good, food and service. We dined in today and they had four cashier registers opened which made the long lines go fast. This is a good thing considering how small the shop is. We sat there for 30 minutes enjoying our breakfast while people came in and out. I always get the Texas hot kolache and a small coffee(the same thing I get every time) I definitely recommend it but if you don’t like spicy its probably not a good idea. Oh and try the Pecan flavor coffee blend it is so good!!!

This place had so many different types of Kolaches. It was my first time eating one so I grabbed quite a few different ones. These remind my of a hot dog in a bun, with different ingredients in the bun or hotdog. Not bad, my favorite was the jalepeno/cheese kolaches. They have pack deals where if you buy more you get them at a discounted price.

My husband and I went for a quick snack around 1pm and they still had a lot of different variety of fillings left. Service was great. The guy behind the counter was helpful! We got BBQ Beef Kolache and Ham, Egg & Cheese filled Croissant. They can warm it up for you if you are going to eat them right away. BBQ Beef wasn’t too salty and it was just the right amount of filling. Ham, Eggs & Cheese filled Croissant was okay. The croissant itself was very fluffy and I liked it, but the filling wasn’t as good. It was mostly filled with eggs. There were small pieces of ham here and there. The cheese was the most disappointing part as it tasted like some cheap cheddar cheese. Would like to try other fillings next time!

Kolaches are delicious! I like how their bread is made a lil sweetness added to it! Yum! Sausages are usually my picks and never disappointed! Cashiers know their products and always try to offer good and delicious products! Cashiers are courteous and patient! Environment is neat and decent and it is accessible to Medical Center where i work.

Let me begin with parking. Kolache Factory shares a parking lot with two to three other businesses, so you can imagine the closer it gets to 8 a.m. or 12 p.m. parking is scarce. I arrived around 11:25 a.m., and cars began pouring in as soon as I was leaving. The establishment was clean and the staff were friendly. I kept my order simple, nothing fancy. I ordered plain sausage kolaches($ 0.89 ea) and they were as good as I remembered from years ago, but the bread was not as sweet as I remember but still good. Yes, the kolaches are four-five bites and you are done, so they are quite small. I’m a fan because establishments like Kolache Factory make small batches, so kolaches are made fresh daily. Unlike the popular bakery my husband went to(I’m not going to call out the bakery), the kolaches were slightly stale. Overall, nice experience and I would definitely return.

Yummy yummy in my tummy, lol. Great location & fast service. My faves are the medium polish, ham & cheese, ranchero, sausage & gravy & the chicken enchilada. The parking here can be a problem since the lot is small & there are other businesses in the strip. My only main problem is that most of the time there is a bum or 2 laying outside the door asking everyone for money; I don’t carry cash(who does anymore) and offered to get them food and was told to forget it(seriously???)

A haiku to summarize my Kolache Factory experience: No makeup on, y’all. Eating my feelings in carbs. Food babies for days. Seriously. If you’re looking to chow down on some lightly sweetened bread filled with glorious sausage/cheese/etc –you’ve come to the right place.

Kolaches are small with little meat in them. The dough is very soft and slightly sweet which I liked. I wouldn’t have much of a problem with them if they were not almost 2 bucks a piece. Service has not been bad but nothing special after the several times I have been there.

Outstanding service. Much better than I could have expected from a kolache place. we had a big order for work and they filled it with a smile and had outstanding customer service. The kolaches are typical for KF, which is fine and great for business meetings etc. Again the service was great, a young lady named Laura made sure we had everything we could need and took great care of us. She deserves a raise.

Mmmmmmm! The cashier recommended two kolaches that we LOVED: chicken enchilada and sausage, jalapeño & cheese. :D nomnomnom Their coffee drinks are good too. This location is much easier to get to than the one further up Kirby near rice village.

Kolaches, you’re amazing. Given, being a Midwest girl, I have no idea how to even rate kolaches, we stopped here for our breakfast, and man… it was good. We got their special of the day– chorizo/jalapeño/egg kolache(omg, SOO good), ham n cheese, and sausage. Just imagine sinking your teeth into a warm, fresh, small little bun of good cheesy meaty breakfast food? It was divine. Loved it and every minute of it. I’m not sure how Kolache factory compares to others, but they had so many different types(salty/sweet/etc) that were hot from the oven– and pair that with a coffee– makes for a stellar breakfast. Kolache, ftw!

Really good dough. If my wife sees this on our account she knows I am hung-over. Many twists on the age old kolache, like philly, pepperoni, bbq, eggs/sausage with japs, etc.

If you want a safe, tasty introduction to these Texan-Czech breakfast delights, Kolache Factory is the place for you. I really can’t top this description so I’ll just provide the one off of Wikipedia: «a type of pastry that holds a dollop of fruit rimmed by a puffy pillow of supple dough.» Damn. I think Kolache Factory is the best way to acquaint yourself with this Houstonian breakfast phenomenon. Unlike the kolaches at non-chain stores and doughnut shops that can be hit-or-miss unless you’re familiar with the menu or kolaches generally, just about everything is tasty at Kolache Factory. There’s a varied menu of savory and sweet fillings. My favorites are the egg, potato and cheese, the jalapeño popper, the ranchero chicken and the creamed spinach. I also like their cinnamon twists. Amazeballs. The sticky buns always sing their sweet siren song(say that three times fast) but I’m pretty focused on the kolaches when I visit. The workers at this location are very sweet, even if they’re wont to mix up orders. Also, I’d avoid asking for anything but regular coffee here. They purportedly have a full menu of coffee drinks on the wall. When I asked for a latte with skim milk, the worker told me that they only keep whole milk. Then he said«We don’t carry those sorts of fixings here like they do at Starbucks.» Apparently people order coffee so infrequently at this location(even though it’s in the Med Center) that they don’t usually stock the items needed for the coffee drinks. He kindly suggested the Starbucks at the Target down Main if I wanted a latte, however. Glitches aside, this is a great place for breakfast or brunch in the Med Center. Service is quick, the kolaches are fresh and yes, there is a Starbucks nearby. You’ll need your latte iced to cool off after starting a morning with«a puffy pillow of supple dough.»

So, I have to admit, when I moved to Houston, I had no idea what a Kolache was. I’m really torn on giving this place 3 vs 4 stars, and I’m going to give it the benefit of the doubt and go with the 4. You see, I didn’t know what Kolaches were. And now that I do… I don’t really know why everyone loves them SO much. I liked the Kolaches I got from this place, but they didn’t knock my socks off. Actually, even the concept didn’t really seem too unique. However, I assume I must be missing something, because Houstonians freaking love these things! So, 4 stars it is, and maybe one day I will understand what all the fuss is about!

I love this place. Been here several times for breakfast. My favorites are the Chicken Enchilada Kolache with the Salsa and the Cream Cheese Kolache. Try going in the early hours of the morning to make sure everything is fresh. Their Coffee though isn’t that good but I come here for the Kolache so I am not going to penalize them for their Coffee.

I stop by this place at least twice a week to grab me a kolache to go. My fave is the Italian Chicken Croissant. It’s addicting and fills me up way past lunch :) The service is always so friendly here too. They are quick and so polite. Doesn’t get much better than this!
