Been going here for 10+ years, Maggie is super friendly and cares about customer satisfaction. Many of the techs are inconsistent, but for price, it’s reliable for most part. Language barrier can make for difficulties if you have specific requests or concerns.
Unless I pay for upgrade on polish,
It doesn’t last very long. Like some reviews here, sometimes I get a real buff, but often it’s more like a «go thru motions «buff.
If on a budget, good buy. Otherwise pay more, get more elsewhere.

Peggy is a doll! I was in the area and decided to stop in for a full set, despite the reviews. She was very detailed and took the time to file all my nails perfectly in the shape that I requested (coffin nails). She was genuinely nice, and didn’t talk my ears off with any of the typical small talk (you have boyfrann, etc). The shop isn’t glamorous or anything, but I don’t care for all of that anyways. It’s a good place to stop by for an in and out pedicure. I’m not sure how the other nail techs are, but I’ll definitely be back to see Peggy.

Great service. Had a Deluxe Mani & Pedi. Good clean shop, awesome ladies in shop. My co-​worker had a full set, she liked it as well.

I’ve been coming here for 5 years and absolutely love it there. Maggie and Angela are amazing and always take great care of me. I always get complimented on my nails and the shellac usually lasts close to 3 weeks for me. They also give a quick little complimentary massage which is super relaxing, the highlight of my visit haha, but I think you can pay an extra $ 6 for 5 additional minutes. The staff is friendly and the salon is nice and clean. I’ve never been disappointed with the service!

I love instyle nails! I have been coming here for 15 years with my mom. She moved so she goes to the other location off Weslayn now, but I am closer to this one. The ladies are always so sweet and they usually do not take long to do my mani/​pedi. They also will give great massages for an extra $ 6.

Had a good experience the first time as the owner did my nails but since then my experience has gone downhill. Had the lady with long hair do my mani last time and it was horrible. She barely trimmed the cuticles and I had to go back and redo them a week later. Unfortunately got the same lady for my pedi this time and same experience. Also, the lady who waxed my eyebrows didn’t even bother to take the wax off. Will not be back or recommend this place ever.

This is the best nail salon inside the loop! I’ve been coming here for 10 years and always love my nails. I can’t live without Maggie, Emy, Nana, all the girls are great! The salon is always sanitary, the pedicure chairs are new and beautiful and prices are reasonable. I love this place!

Came here on a Sunday with the whole family (6 of us) and they were able to get us in at the same time. That was impressive. Friendly service.

I love Instyle Nails! I look forward to going there for my mani/​pedi every time — and I’ve been going there over 10 years !! Maggie and her team are really GREAT !! I used to «shop around», but no more. Their work is thorough, very clean and (best of all) I leave there refreshed and LOOKING GREAT! It doesn’t matter what phase I am going through shellac, natural nails — whatever! Instyle Nails DELIVERS — I am a customer for life :)

My gel mani looks fine, but the lady who did my pedicure scrubbed one foot and not the other. I pointed this out and she said she was going to do it later. When she started painting I was very confused and asked when she was going to scrub my other foot, but she acted like she didn’t know what I was taking about. $ 75 down the drain!

Guys if you are looking for a place that is very experienced with Men’s manicure and pedicure? Look no further. Instyle is your place. I always have Tammy for pedicure and Michelle manicure. They are awesome and very experienced especially when it comes to getting all that rough stuff your feet. I am hooked and come regularly every two weeks. Almost forgot they also give a great massage.

I came in this afternoon around 2:00 for a polish change on my hands and a spa pedicure.
For a deluxe pedicure this was extremely sub par. She used very little product, she hardly shaped my toe nails and entirely skipped over the callous removal (which is clearly stated on the menu as apart of the service).
Once she started to polish my nails I knew I would never be back. Thick and gloppy. She didn’t give anytime between coats top dry. Applied all three coats to one hand then the next. When I asked her to please let each layer dry before applying another the manger came over and began to argue with me. Like you have got to be f@$&/#! Kidding me!
My fingers and toes are still wet hours later!!!
Don’t waste your money here. Tons of nail salons everywhere, go anywhere else.

Just had a spa pedi and shellac mani. WORST MANI/​PEDI EVER as well as HORRIBLE service. They do a poor, unfinished job. Doesn’t seem like it’s done by a professional. When I asked the extremely rude woman who was doing my mani if she could clean up the polish on the skin around my nails, she yanked my hand and tossed it aside saying she’d do it later. Clearly, (from my pics below) she never did. Then, I happened to notice that the burgundy polish from my old pedi was showing thru the bright red polish from today’s pedi (not a cute look) so I asked her if she could fix it. She rolled her eyes, hollered at the lady to come fix it and then continued to just give me dirty looks of inconvenience. I mean, asking her to file my nail shorter or remove polish from outside the lines shouldn’t be considered too much to ask for. I didn’t even complain about how uncomfortable I was due to her stretching my left arm across my body so SHE could comfortably do my nails from one place until she scolded me to relax my hand. To top it all off, I was told they didn’t have those little foot liners for me to put on since I came in wearing boots so I had to walk to my car and apartment barefoot.
When I’m spending about $ 50 for a mani/​pedi service, I don’t expect the royal treatment, however I do expect a little more than what I mentioned above. People go to get their nails done to come out relaxed with pretty nails… not scolded with a sloppy paint job to look at for the next two weeks. Could be the evil unhappy woman I had but the experience was awful enough to never go back. Plus it’s not very clean in there.
The good news is, there are several other options in the area where I can take my business!
Sorry for the rant… I think this is only my second review ever and I’ve been a Unilocal member for years… clear indicator of how absurd this place is.

I find the poor reviews for shellac on here absurd. I have gone to this salon for years and have always been especially happy with the quality of their work (see my photo). After reading some of the bad reviews I wonder if the women in question were communicating well with their technicians. Some of us are far more sensitive than others. Water too hot? Say so! Pressure too rough? Say so! And good luck finding any salon in Houston that will not only complete your nail services but will also massage your calves, shoulders and hands for this price. I prefer to keep this place my own secret but wanted to post a photo and saw some recent bad reviews and had to speak up. Totally not deserved. One of my absolute favorite Houston rituals.

Came here for shellac manicure and pedicure. Lady doing my toes was so rough she cut me on both of my big toes and made me bleed. She wiped it with some solution that made it burn! She held pressure to make it stop bleeding, but never looked at me or apologized :(Needless to say, my toes were sore for a few days… never coming back.

If I could give it no stars, I would… by far the WORST manicure I have ever received.
The technician did a really sloppy job filing my nails, cut my skin in several places when removing the cuticles and didn’t even do a good job getting rid of the cuticles. She didn’t clean the nails properly– I’m an artist and I work with charcoal and paint; there was absolutely no attempt to clean the charcoal off of the underside of my nail (I had to resort to asking for the tool so that I could do it myself after she had finished).
After cutting my skin several times, she did not put anything to disinfect the cuts and let the blood run so that it is visible in my newly done manicure.
The first attempt at painting my nails there were major bubbles on two of the fingers and a piece of cotton on one and when I asked her kindly if she could redo it (I hadn’t said anything the entire time she was doing my nails, just watched and tried not to look too horrified) she gave me an attitude and very obviously annoyed redid the two nails just as sh*tedly as she had done the first time.
I’m going to a fancy dress event and will certainly have to redo my nails myself because of how horrible they look.

Please dont go here! I just got a manicure and the technician had an OPEN SORE on her pinkie finger. PLUS she cut 2 of my cuticles. I noticed part way through and asked her to skip the massage part, douse my fingers in alcohol and put on a glove. She refused to put on a glove because all she had to do was paint my nails. Unbelievable.
Extremely disturbing and DANGEROUS. Find another place and inspect your technicians fingers before risking infection.

I had a good experience here. It was very affordable, 30 dollars for a pedicure and manicure. Can’t beat that.
I called at 6 and said I was coming in, greeted promptly and there were two people working on me immediately. The spa chairs could have been more comfortable, and I would have liked to be able to control the massager myself. I had to ask whenever I wanted something changed.
One lady worked on my feet but she switched when her regular client came through the door. I thought that was a bit rude, but whatev, I don’t play favorites.
The pedicure was fine, although she asked if i wanted to upgrade. I did. I got some more lotion slathered on my legs, warm towel wrap and maybe some more scrubbing and massage. I don’t know if it was worth it since I never got the basic. manicure was decent and comes with a back massage.
The ladies were friendly and we had good conversation. The mani pedi was done in about 40 mins. I wanted to sit in the chair but it was closing time and I felt rushed to leave. No worries, I don’t dock points for closing time!
I will come back. Good prices and friendly, competent staff. The only constructive criticism I can ask if to have plastic liners in the tub bath (i would feel much cleaner).

it’s a few minutes from work so it’s convenient. my first time, Maggy (spelling?) helped me, she was sweet, manager i think, she did a good job on my nails so i’d come back a second time.
They have lots of walk-​ins, the location is great so that’s probably why. They also have another location on richmond and i’ve been there a few times and they do a good job too.

Ugh. Ick. Blah. Never again. And I’m serious this time.
I came here early Christmas Eve. I wasn’t in a rush — neither were half the women in the salon. However, a handful of walkins fussed over the 10– to 15-​minute wait … which made all these ladies work ferociously fast — and sloppy.
My pedi was so-​so, but the other woman doing my mani and working the cuticle cutter was cutted away like a madwoman; she was rough and simply awful. Paint was everywhere, too. Day two and my nails are already chipping; the coat of paint is thin and the buff job pathetic.
Worst of all, she requested a $ 10 tip. «I keep change?» Uh, no. Since when does a crappy job deserve a 25% tip?
