This is another great food truck in the Houston food truck scene. They have great innovative menu items. I’ve been a couple of times and really enjoyed the food. We had the pulled pork sliders, the truffle fries, and some of the fried balls(don’t remember which), but all the food was pretty amazing. I just know I felt stuffed and had a major case of the itis afterwards. They were at liberty station at the time and I must say this is perfect with beer as well. If they happen to be at a bar I totally recommend getting a refreshing beer and getting some great food here! I have no complaints and I’m looking forward to going back!

We had truffle fries, shorty mac and a pork belly taco. All outstanding. So outstanding my boyfriend, who does not tweet opened a Twitter account to find the truck to be able to get more food. Found a photo of the pork belly we had. Yum! ” ;

Tried them for the 1st time at the HMNS’s mixers and exliers(highly recommend BTW, frequently on groupon too). We ordered the Shorty Mac and Fighting Chicken sandwiches. The short mac met my expectations and beyond. Who doesn’t love mac and cheese and meat? But for that pair to be in sandwich form – yummy! The mac and cheese by itself would’ve already been 5 stars. One of the best mac and cheeses I’ve eaten and the bread was toasty and just awesomeness. Def should try! For the 2nd sandwich, they accidentally gave us the wrong chicken sandwich – still don’t really know what we ate but my BF was not impressed by their chicken sandwich but I thought it was decent. The awesome part is, they apologized on twitter later after realizing their mistake(we didn’t confront them – we had already eaten everything before realizing as well lol). For a food truck – I feel like they offer complex and original foods i.e. risotto balls, shorty mac – they def put in a lot thought into each pairings and I’m excited to try more!

Wow, the options are amazing! If I could I would try just about all of them! But alas… I had their thai style chicken tacos! These were good, fresh and light tasting too! My daughter had their KFC wings and she thought they were too sweet, but she ate them all so not that big a deal :-) If I find this truck again. I really want to try the hot dog!

Tried the Korean Dog(kimchi and kobe beef) with the truffle/parmesan fries. It was delicious! I am Korean so I enjoy more fermented kimchi and the Korean Dog was excellent! A lot bigger than I expected as well. I’ve tried the boudin balls also which were not bad. Will be back to try other stuff!

Whyyyyyyy don’t I *get* it? We tried the infamous shorty Mac. The meat was delicious, but I was disappointed by the Mac and cheese. I was more Mac-y and less cheese-y than I’d like. At $ 3 more than the HEB grilled cheese I had(ham, Gouda and caramelized onions) I don’t think it’s worth the up-charge. I’ll give this truck another whirl though, I wanna try the egg rolls. Watch this space!

Not much more to say here. Just a quality food truck, and the price is pretty good as well. They seem to be easy to find around any Heights event, so I often grab a bite when I see them. Many times I just happen to be walking down 19th St and there they are. Like they were expecting me. Depending on the event they are at, wait times can be a little bit. That does not really bother me though. The Shorty Mac is consistently good. A grilled mac and cheese and short rib sandwich. The short rib meat is just a tad tough, but still so flavorful. The fried risotto and boudin balls are must gets as well. A couple other interesting sandwiches and tacos on the menu. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Based on my schedule, it is just plain hard to try food trucks, and with the proliferation of the food truck scene in Houston, you can forget about it. I just can’t keep up with all the new ones poppin’ up left and right. Saying this, my wife and I were able to hit up the food truck park on Hwy 6 today. We made it part of our schedule, especially since we saw H-town Streats would be there. Always had great, and consistent food from them in the past. This time around, we had the following: * grilled mac n’ cheese with short rib = just plain AWESOME!!! * chicken fried steak sandwiches = good bread, mucho food, but CFS were a bit overdone * monte cristo balls = fried well, strawberry sauce was fresh and tasty, BUT it really didn’t taste like a monte cristo, and more like a ham and cheese sandwich The latter two items were good, but the former was great! I love how HS have so many items on their menu, and that they give you a lot of food for what you pay for(FYI, we paid $ 21 for all of that). I can’t wait for them to open up their doughnut shop in the Heights! I was scared they would close the food truck once their brick and mortar opened, but they said the plan is to keep on truckin’ with this amazing food truck.

Despite my lovely allergies I was dying to have lunch outside since it’s such a pretty day! Saw the truck was close by & gave it a go. I said to hell w/my healthy eating fad & went for 3 tacos… don’t judge, do not judge… miso chicken, fried avocado & a fried fish. All 3 were so yummy! This truck isn’t skimpy on the fillings either. Loved the miso chicken & the slaw on the fish taco was super delish! But that fried avocado… THABIZ-NESS!!! It was fried perfectly & seasoned just right. The slaw they place on top was soooo dayum good. It had this refreshing taste that you don’t typically associate with fried stuff. Service was quick & friendly and they’re easy on the wallet. You’d pay the same if not more for worse in a drive thru. This was totally worth the allergy attack I’m suffering through right now! :-) I’ll be back for sure!

This is another food truck I wouldn’t mind adding to my list to visit again! We ended up finding this truck at a gardening center. Slightly odd place, but I won’t question it! We ended up ordering a lot of things to try! Here’s the list below: Risotto balls with tomato jam: I was really loving the tomato jam. Never had it before so I was intrigued. Nice sweet and spice flavoring and the balls were fried nicely. Very cheesy. Fried avocado taco: The fried avocado was nicely fried and I think it was crusted in some kind of nut. The cabbage and sauce was delicious, however I thought it over powered the avocado. I had to take a bite of the avocado by itself to taste it. Overall, it was still a delicious taco Shrimp and grits balls with homemade tarter sauce: Another thing nicely fried, however I thought the shrimp was a little lacking. There was more grits than shrimp. The tarter sauce was nice, however it could get a little salty. Grilled Cheese: Their take on a grilled cheese was fun. Short ribs with mac and cheese. Bread was toasted nicely. I thought after eating everything else that the flavor was a little lacking, but my bf loved it. Maybe I should have ate it first. Overall, another great food truck find!

Htownstreats came to our house — the best party idea. We had HtownStreats cater an engagement party for our son for 120 people. They were absolutely AMAZING! The food — the service — totally awesome! Everyone loved the food and no one minded waiting a few minutes for their main plate. Appetizers kept coming out of the truck to everyone’s delight — so fresh so tasty! The tacos, the risotto balls, the sliders, the duck rolls, the fish tacos, the shorty mac n cheese sandwich — still dreaming of ALL the great food.

Risotto balls — nice crisp. Lots of cheese inside and the tomato jam was a nice mix of spice and sweet. Still — the taste was pretty generic and the risotto did not shine through. Shrimp and grits ball — nice crisp as well. Mostly grits. I could not taste the shrimp and I could only see very small chopped up pieces. The tartar sauce it came with it was too salty but using it in moderation was good. Fried avocado taco — good balance of creaminess and fried oiliness of the avocado. The pieces of avocado are really big but i still wish there was more. It was hard to taste through the cabbage and sauce. Shorty Mac — braised short ribs and Mac n cheese in a grilled cheese style sandwich. Really good. The bread was toasted perfectly and the savory and creamy flavors went together perfectly.

This is one of my favorite food trucks, next to NOLA’s and Good Dog Food Truck. I really like their boudain balls and truffle fries. The prices aren’t as steep as some trucks(like Bernie’s Burger Bus) and they also have a large variety of good, non-traditional foods. Great food. But, they should really focus on getting some better to-go packaging and condiments. When I get truffle fries, I want a PACKET of ketchup(I’m a ketchup fiend) and a plastic container over them. All the times I’ve been there, I had to put a napkin over my items and squeeze ketchup from their no-brand bottle! I didn’t enjoy that… at all.

I’m not big on food trucks. I like the concept, the mobility and such. It also really makes event-throwing a bit more of a breeze. Hire a food truck. You don’t have to clean up, set up; it’s all self contained. I’m generally okay with standing and eating or driving and eating, it’s usually just that the food isn’t worth my time or digestion. My taste buds and stomach deserve far better than what most food trucks offer.(I’ll claim snob, before you can call it!) H-town Streats is different from most food trucks. It’s one of the better, long-standing ones. It’s a little stoned at 3AM, possibly 12:15AM, but not too crazy. If you come across it somewhere and are a little peckish, definitely grab a pickled slaw fish taco and a shrimp taco. Oh, and a fried avocado taco. If they don’t have any of these(they rotate and change), don’t fret. Everything on their menu(s) sounds pretty awesome, albeit a little on the other side of college food. Better yet, it is like that scene in Annie Hall where Alvie recalls his childhood in the class room. Or in the case of H-town Streats, how would an adult reinterpret college food?

Went to H-town StrEATS for the first time this weekend. I had no idea that so many food trucks congregated at HEB! It was a nice surprise to see not just one but like…6 or 7 food trucks when we pulled into the parking lot! Instant foodie excitement! H-Town StrEATS has the BEST balls! Risotto balls! Boudin Balls! Yummy deep fried balls. Get your minds out of the gutter and head straight to H-Town StrEATS. You won’t be disappointed.

I checked out H-town Streats when they were parked at the HEB Montrose Market along with a few other trucks. They do this event the third Friday of every month from 5 – 9PM and it’s a great way to check out food trucks. After perusing all the trucks’ menus, H-town Streats was the first to get our business. We ordered the Grudge Dog which was a THICK. JUICY. BACON. WRAPPED. KOBE. HOTDOG. It was smothered in caramelized onions and jalepenos and a delicious siracha sauce. My husband says it was the best hot dog he’d ever eaten. It was a $ 7.50 hot dog, but the quality and preparation of the ingredients was worthy of the price. The bread was fresh and thick and held up to the juicy dog that was at least 1 inch in diameter. For a food truck, the menu was VERY extensive and used very unique ingredients. It’s a rotating menu, which is pretty bold, but from what I tasted, I trust that these guys have the skills to deliver quality food and daring menus.

Been to this food truck twice and never had any complaints. My kids love the shorty mac(pulled pork and mac n cheese in a grilled sandwich). We order this for them everytime(okay both times at least). Today, we also ordered the truffle oil parmesan fries, monte cristo balls(second time) and grilled jerk chicken sandwich. Truffle oil fries usually gets played out but I really enjoyed these fries. The parmesan was so yummy I was eating it by itself. Grilled jerk chicken sandwich had some kind of mango sauce in it that gave it great flavor. My husband loves the monte cristo balls so we had to order again. I love coming back to Htown streats to see what new things they put on their menu.

I believe the first thing of theirs I tried was called the«Cooter.» It was a beef/pork hamburger with red cabbage chipotle slaw. It was absolutely delicious, and just the right amount of messy. I wished I had ordered two. I was hooked. The next time I happened upon the truck was on a Friday evening at Boneyard Drinkery(it was the last time they were there since Boneyard now has its own food truck), and I wasn’t too hungry so I had a grilled cheese sandwich with ham and tomatoes. Simple and tasty. Everything I’ve had there has been worth it. The Shorty Mac is a must. I also recommend the risotto balls and the fried avocado taco, but the menu items rotate, so good luck. I found out that they now take credit cards. It’s scanned to one of the guys’ phone and then people are asked to sign on the shattered screen. I prefer to bring cash and you should too, if you can help it. It helps the line run faster and you won’t need more than $ 10 to eat to your heart’s content. Also, please make up your mind of what you’re going to order before jumping in queue. I’m talking to you, blonde girl with the gray t-shirt and the ridiculous pink purse at Inversion last Thursday. :|
