I initially visited a GM dealership but was suspicious of their quote. Went to Unilocal looking for a honest repair shop. I found Collins Automotive and boy am I happy.
A long story short… they saved me about $ 750.00 for work which GM recommended but turns out was unnecessary. Thanks Collins!

I’ve been using Unilocal for years and I’ve never left a review before, but I felt compelled to leave one today because of the quality service I received.
I recently moved to Houston and went to Collins Automotive based on the 5÷6÷14 review from Amanda M. Like her, I received courteous service from professionals who patiently explained the problems with my vehicle. They only fixed what needed to be fixed, despite two dealership estimates that claimed more extensive repairs were necessary. Mike (the owner) even found an exhaust pipe issue that the two dealerships had missed! Even though he could’ve charged for this and I wouldn’t have been the wiser, he suggested I get those repairs at an exhaust pipe specialty shop to save money.
Awesome, sexism-​free service. I’ve found my new mechanic. Thank you, Collins Automotive!

My check engine light was on and I took my vehicle to get it checked out. I drive a 2011 Nissan Rogue. I was in and out within 45 minutes. I have been treated like a dumb blonde by mechanics before and this was definitely NOT the case. The guys here were very courteous and great at explaining stuff. I didnt have any work done (computer just needed to be updated), but I left with a lot of information. I will definitely go here again! Thanks

I can’t say enough about this place. Being one of those people who does their own work and gets anxiety about others touching their «high maintenance toys» I still confidentially come here.
Mike has been servicing my vehicles for years, long before the true Collins Automotive came to be. He cares about the people who come to him and remembers them all. His knowledge and desire to get things done the right way never changes. If you get that queezy feeling when its time to have your car worked on, then check out Collins Automotive. You will leave happy and confident that other parts of your car you did not ask about were looked over. This really is that true independent shop you like to come back to, over and over.

Mike is a great guy and and awesome mechanic. He does meticulous work at a fair price. Collins Automotive is a new name for Mike’s new location with service for all types of vehicles. F.I.S.T. racing is Mike’s high performance race shop, where he builds, repairs, and tunes high performance street racers. F.I.S.T. became so popular, that the old shop just wasn’t big enough anymore, so he moved to a better location. Now he can do more performance work, and service the family cars too. You get more than 10 years of high performance experience, great service and convenient location all at an affordable price, no matter what you drive.
