Black-eyed Pea Restaurant

Lousy Service and poor quality of food. I would recommend going to McDonald’s over here anyway. How is Mac and cheese runny? Ike our server let the drink stay empty the entire time during the visit. Then the portions of items do not match we both had the same entrée and one was extremely larger then the other one. Then the employees are more interested in the football game rather then service. When considering a place to eat avoid this place at all costs.

Went on a weekday evening. I ordered the vegetable plate. The vegetables were served luke warm, and were not seasoned enough. I won’t be rushing back. Maybe I will try as busier day.

I have been getting rolls here for Thanksgiving for years, and they are great! However, we ate here the other night and the food was horrible! The chicken fried steak was over cooked, hard and brittle, whipped sweet potatoes were like baby food, tea was weak and was told that that is just how it is made. To make matters worse after waiting 40 minutes for our food the waiter forgot my order entirely. I feel sorry for all the staff, this use to be such a great place to eat. It’s not any more!

Waitress didn’t bring the change back… and argued with my co-​worker that she gave $ 10 bill instead of $ 20…when we asked for the manager she called someone else. .when we spoke to the manager he said I don’t know what to say…

Worse service, and the restrooms are deplorable! Would complain to the manager about it, but a part of me feels like it would not make a difference.
For starters, went to the RR after ordering our food to go, and it was TOASTY in the summer time! Not sure if the AC wasn’t working or what, but there wasn’t a sign of warning or apology to say otherwise. Then there was a stench of DEATH lurking, and I don’t even want to describe what remained in one of the stalls– I’ll spare you that visual. Furthermore, I went by the bar (where to go orders are placed and retrieved), and the male staff almost gave away our food to the customer in front of us! After correcting that issue, he just walked off without acknowledging us ONE BIT, yet it was obvious that we had been standing there for awhile. I literally had to call the restaurant, speak to a manager and request for someone to help us!
This place has sadly fallen short of great customer service and decency.

Best veggie plate at a Black Eyed Pea in a long time. Salad served with a cold fork on a cold plate. Veggies serve quick and hot.
And Imani was the best server I have come across in a ling time. Efficient, thoughtful and happy to be doing her job — a true delight. Keep up the great work! You made my day.

The food was typical Black Eyed Pea fare, good quality and portions, but the big complaint I have with this restaurant is that everything is sticky… not syrup sticky, but old, years-​of-​grease, sticky… the tables, the chair backs, heck, even the front door was sticky. The whole restaurant needs a good scrub-​down, especially the wood. Perhaps some of the wood should be refinished.
The waitress was sweet and very efficient.

Honestly, this is simply upgraded cafeteria food. But, the rolls and cornbread are worth the trip for sure. The meatloaf is usually my main entrée, with mashed potatoes and a veggie, it’s pure comfort food. And after two baskets of rolls and cornbread, I’m ready for a good nights sleep. No matter which location, it’s consistently good. Enjoy!

I Love their Corn Bread ! & Bread. I got the chicken Cesar salad It was great but I got food poisoned…

This place is just «meh» It is simple American style food that is often served as cold as the hearts of the servers themselves. The people serving us snickered behind the back of a woman who had taken her special needs child out to lunch. I heard horrible things being said about the child in question ((who was a sweet angel!)) I walked up to the group of them and told them off, called the manager ((who did nothing!)) paid for our drinks ((and the woman and childs lunch)) and left. what the hell black eyed pea. never again!

Waited longer then ten minutes (, using my stopwatch app) before leaving. Waiters everywhere, but no one even looked our way. Not busy enough to warrant the poor service.

Food was decent, no real complaints, gotta carryout so didn’t get to check out the service. My complaint would be my sides were on the small side, so i dropped a star… overall I would return!

I’ve only had a couple of beers here, quick, cold and in a clean glass. I’ll tell you more when I know more. lol

Food was good and excellent portion sizes for the price. The friendly, attentive service we received was way beyond my expectations. Definitely will visit again.

It was not busy when I went. The staff was extremely helpful and accurate. The food came out very quickly. I will go back.

It has a been a while since I’ve eaten off their regular menu, but I recently had Thanksgiving lunch here. Great service and food. I’ve had Thanksgiving meals at fancy restaurants and hotels that didn’t compare to their special menu they had this day.
