The company I work for puts us up in the hotel and gives us a meal voucher for dinner so, to be honest, I haven’t really studied the prices — although I do believe they are on the expensive side of things. The steak actually is very decent if you get it. I always order medium rare and they have been fairly consistent at getting some pink in the middle. Not really the best quality beef, but it is consistent with a hotel restaurant. I usually end up eating at the bar. They(for some reason) don’t offer the full menu at the bar — although you can get them to order you pizza, etc if you ask for it. I must have eaten a half dozen meals over the past couple years and I guess the only thing that I can say is that I don’t really remember any of them. It’s sustenance. You won’t starve to death, but don’t expect a knock your socks off experience either. This is a poor area of the city to find a decent restaurant. This seems strange since you have many hotels in the area.

Surprisingly decent. Was not expecting much, given it’s a generic looking restaurant in a b-level airport hotel. Ordered their new york steak. Good piece of meat, cooked very well. Not the kind of place you would go out of your way to visit, but if you find yourself at the Sheraton or near the airport, it’s a decent option.

I stay at this hotel 3 to 4 weeks a year… Way too often and there are NO good places to eat around the hotel. Every other trip I will end up with a night were I do not have plans with a customer and I do not feel like driving 20 min to eat… So I try Basils… again… And as always I am more then disappointed. The dinners here are WAY too expensive… last time I had a side salad, pasta, and a soda… $ 27… The worst part was the past tasted horrible. I do not know how they can manage to mess up Pasta this bad… But they do. My sales guy had the burger… Pre formed over cooked patty on a dry bun… mmmmm I am mainly writing this review to remind myself to either drive 20 min to eat… Or get Churches Chicken at the gas station across the street.

Ate here for dinner and lunch during our stay at the hotel. Fried calamari: 2 stars highly under seasoned Shrimp and artichoke pasta: 4 stars huge shrimp, Flavorful artichokes but the pasta needed more sauce Chargrilled burger: 3 stars soggy bottom bun, hamburger patty tasted a bit synthetic. Fries were tasty though Gorgonzola salad: 5 stars very large portion, tons of meat and cheese and a flavorful dressing Chicken quesadilla: 5 stars more than enough to share, packed with seasoned chicken and cheese and pico. And the gauc on the side was so delicious!

Uninspired, but decent. I had a few breakfasts and one dinner here. Breakfast is the standard buffet; the dinner menu is limited, but the staff were attentive. No one at the table was singing praises, but no one was disappointed, either. It’s hotel food next to the airport — what do you expect?

The Spinal Tap classic«Hell Hole» comes to mind when I think of this place. Ok, so maybe that is a little unfair. As Anthony said, it is the in-house Sheraton restaurant. The menu is VERY limited and the food is quite bad(it has made me violently ill and I’ll only eat it because my work MAKES me). They advertise a pasta bar & an omelet station … this is a lie. Stayed there for many months and they haven’t had either since early June. They have a little bar off to the side, but honestly the only thing it has going for it is several tv’s(whose sound is drown out by the terrible music from jukebox).

Want to experience a restaurant that has all the upscale trappings down except the actual food? Basil’s Kitchen is the in-house restuarant at the Sheraton at the Intercontinental Airport, otherwise a solid place to stay, with nice rooms, accomodating staff and good location. They do all the snooty things, such as a seating station and hostess, luxe décor, table décor touches, linens, leather menu folio, and so on. The service is attentive but not particularly special beyond the standard restaurant action. Food is described with a plethora of poofy adjective — no chicken breast here, we serve«medallions». And it’s priced that way, too. Basil’s even does fancy presentation of the food. The food itself? Meh. It’s really not much different than the run-of-the-mill sit-down or casual dining establishments like Chili’s, Applebees and so on. At lunch there’s a buffet, which is average at best for steam-tray cuisine. $ 36 for a mediocre lunch buffet for 2, tax, tip and iced tea is not a good value. So the high prices are to fatten the bottom line, not the dinner plate. The web page invites you to ‘savor a meal’, and that«Basil’s Kitchen will please your palate with delicious selections from their exciting Mediterranean á la carte menu or fresh daily buffets». If you want your palate pleased, go to the Godfather’s Pizza across the street.
