Going to miss this place when they tear it down :( Stupid Hawaii always want to put the local business out and all these stupid high end shops in!

I just didn’t get this museum. It seems to be based on a drill team called«The King’s Guard,» which was based on the royal household guards of past Hawaii.(Or maybe based on the guards’ legacy?) Basically, I found it to be a museum more to the modern civic-type group than to the historical group… which is fine, but I kept looking for more information on the historical roots. Most of the displays were t-shirts from the group’s participation in parades, windbreakers they’ve worn, modern photos of group members, etc., including a few things highlighting their national championship years(mainly 1994). With full respect to the members of the modern King’s Guard, I just may have missed the point and walked in looking for more information on the farther-back history and origins. There’s also a giant bell in the middle of the museum but no information to explain its significance, so while it looks neat, I have no idea what it has to do with the King’s Guard. The museum is free, bright, and small — easily completed in a few minutes — so you may find it interesting to pop in if you’re at the King’s Village shopping center.

Had heard of this location within Waikiki but hadn’t ever had a chance to just stop by and peek inside. Apparently, there’s a lot of history behind the King’s Guard and though it may be really small, it’s not a bad place at all.

This is a nice place to pop in when your in the Waikiki area. I didn’t realize that there was so much history behind the Kings guard. I walk past this place many times and never realized that the guard was a real thing. The museum is very small, but still a cool pop in to learn about some history of the place you live or visiting.
