The Hideaway Bar

The absolute worst. Dingy, filthy, grimy, and every other adjective that a «dive bar» shouldn’t be and that this place is. Terrible clientele, bartenders that couldn’t crack a smile if you paid them, abysmal selection of beer. The worst place on the island to bring a girl.
No one’s ever wanted a beer bad enough in the history of mankind to excuse the existence of this bar.

This place is nostalgia in a bottle. I have loved that crazy old beer floor from the first moment I walked in…17 years ago. It is the first place I felt comfortable drinking and I always feel at home there. Say aloha to Johnny for me! He’s the best.

It’s pretty dark and it really lives up to it’s name, it took me 20 minutes to find where it was plus I was driving. Also took the bartender 9 minutes to get my drink order and it wasn’t packed.

Pinball review: they have an old NASCAR machine w/​four balls missing & it’s totally unplayable (16 credits on it as of 5÷14÷15).
But, the bar is super awesome and tucked away. I feel like this is a legit dive bar — some others will pop up if you search Unilocal,but really they are more just bars. Hideaway is a true dive so hence the three stars. If the machine worked, I’d bump it to 4.5!

This is a great dive bar.
Was out end of the night stop after booze cruising and bar hoping.
Bartender (Claire) was awesome. Beers were cold and reasonable. Plus there are some great arcade games.
Also, the jukebox is on point!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love dive bars. So when I was in Honolulu, why not try to find the best. So as I was walking in between a Irish bar, a laundry mat, and a Vietnamese restaurant, I came across this place. It is all you need in a dive bar. It has a single pool table, a single TV, and a really disgusting bathroom. All the things I love. Did I mention drink specials?
This place has got em. $ 1 beers and a great bartender.
Just remember, this place, like any great dive bar, only takes cash. But there is an ATM .
So load up, and come and get loaded. You won’t be disappointed.

This place has got to be the king of dive bars. It looks like a run-​down house – if it wasn’t for their huge a** «hideaway bar» sign, I don’t think anyone would know it’s a bar.
They have extremely cheap drinks, cool video games for only 50 cents to play, and lots of room to sit. I definitely enjoyed the games, but it’s really dark inside and the music is deafening.

Stopped by here on a birthday bash pub hop. Wonderful spot cute and quiet, Latisha can make excellent drinks to order I had a delicious dreamsicle and a wonderful upside down pineapple. It’s a little divey and cash only but it’s got friendly people and a fun atmosphere. Plus they have a fun game where you guess what’s under the cap of the pbr you order then it’s free! Yay!

Don’t make me give you a 1 star review Hideaway Bar.
Let’s be fair and start with 5 stars and penalize them a star for each infraction. Seems fair to me.
It’s early September, still humid and in the 80’s at night. What no air conditioning or it’s not on, minus 1 star.
The bar is down a sketchy dimly lit alley way. Jack the Ripper could live here. Minus 1 star.
They allow or at least turn a blind eye to smoking here. Breaking state laws minus 1 star.
It’s STINKY, no air filtration system and it’s hot in here. Minus 1 star.
That only leaves 1 star remaining and Unilocal won’t let me go any lower than that, so I’ll stop here.
This could be your cup of tea if you’re a smoker and like a stuffy room in the summer.

I love dive bars and this is by far the most dive-​E-​st (is that a word) of them all.
There is a little parking. The place looks like an abandoned house and smells of lost hopes and dreams.
It so freaking cheep just remember to bring yo cash.
They open at 6 am and closes at 2 am.

The dive of all dives. Great power hour and a relaxed, local atmosphere. Prices are great even after Power hour ends. Don’t let the shady back parking lot location scare you off. It’s a fun, total mixture of a crowd.
