Just left and had to write a review with my experience at Sweet Dreams. Kelly was so nice and pleasant and runs a small, clean spa with very nice energy. She led me to a private room and explained in detail what the process would entail and ensured that I was comfortable. Before starting, she also asked if I had any questions which, if you really think about it, is a no brainier but makes you not feel rushed and ensured you were good to begin. I received the express back and facial for just $ 85! Seriously, can you get the price at any of those «spas» at the mall or hotel? The best part of it was the massage. Mind you, it was an express selection, so you can’t expect an hour of massage, but she is sooooooo good in the time she dedicated to the massage portion. Her products are high quality and there was no sales pressure to buy things from her. She even persuaded me to try some samples first before jumping the gun to buy everything she’s used on me to make sure I really liked it. I appreciated that. Go ahead and make the appointment if you’re a first timer, you’ll be so glad you did!

Went to Sweet Dreams Skincare at the Alan Wong building for the first time today and I love Kelly! She is the sweetest woman and made the entire experience of waxing go smoothly. I got my lip, eyebrows and brazilian done for a little under $ 100, which is reasonable considering how great she was!
Kelly keeps the conversation going by earnestly wanting to get to know you and welcomes questions of your own. It’s easy to get caught up and feel like you two have actually been friends for a long time! Even when she did my lip however, we were quiet, but it wasn’t awkward. In fact, I was incredibly relaxed and comfortable with her, which probably owes some credit to the soothing atmosphere of the salon. There is music playing softly in the background with lights lit low in the individual areas.
When she did my eyebrows, I loved that she consulted with me first as I looked into the mirror to explain exactly what she wanted to do. Then when she was done, she asked me to sit up to double check the appearance from different angles. Precision and care at its finest! Much appreciated quality work!
Finally, with the brazilian, she uses soft wax on the upper region then switches to hard wax as you move lower. She checks with you before starting to check pain threshold and encourages you to talk to her should you feel uncomfortable in any way.
Overall, highly satisfied.

With so many great reviews, I was really hoping to get a great experience from these people. Unfortunately, they were nearly impossible to reach.
My situation was one where I needed to get a walk-​in appointment for a Brazilian. I couldn’t see much on their mobile site, so I tried to call them, left them a message asking if I could come in for a walk-​in, and that I’d even be right over when they opened, but didn’t get a reply. I tried calling a few more times to no avail, so I decided to show up, hoping that they just might be able to squeeze me in.
When I got there, I noticed that the parking situation is terrible. They’re in a suite of a building owned by an extremely strict property manager. You have to sign in with your in/​out times, your vehicle make and model and color, and your name and license plate number. Additionally, the parking stalls are super small, and if you’re over the line a tiny bit, then you run the risk of your car getting towed. There isn’t any other place to park though, because this is Honolulu, so you park there. Also, there’s a dumpster in the corner which stinks.
But back to the actual place. I go to the office, which was supposed to be open at 9am, but there was no one there. They had some pamphlets though, and when I opened it, it said they were open Mon-​Sat by appointment only. It had a phone number on it, so I tried to call it, and got no answer. Left a message saying that if they could see me by 9:30 or 9:40, then I would love to give them my business, but if I didn’t hear from them until 9:45 (I called them at 9am, when they were supposed to be open and in their office), that I’d have to go somewhere else, because I have a meeting in the afternoon. I also saw an email address, where I sent an email through my phone explaining the same thing, and then I just sat and waited, scrolling through my phone looking for someone else who might be able to help me.
Also, the bathroom doors were locked, so even though I had to pee, I couldn’t do anything about it. At 9:45 I found another place (Beyond Bare at the Ala Moana Mall), and they actually answered their phone, AND had me booked for an appointment for 10:05 am after a 30-​second phone conversation.
Sweet Dreams called me at 10:20, while I was already getting waxed. Sorry, but when you’ve got a potential client trying to reach you, and it’s supposed to be your business hours, then you should answer your phone. Plus, you should listen to the voice mail/​read the email that says that I would go elsewhere if you didn’t get back to me by 9:45. Don’t call at 10:20 trying to secure an appointment.
No idea what their service is actually like, but if it’s anything like trying to get a hold of them, or having them get back to you, then it can’t be good.

I have been going here for years and never thought to write a review. My bad! Kelly is the bomb. Her facials, waxings and extractions are best. Love the neck message especially! I see her monthly and my skin has never been better. Thank you, Kelly!

I love this place. Maria is very professional and very friendly. It was my first time waxing and she made me feel comfortable. The procedure itself was painless. I will definitely come back. :)

Maria is AMAZING!!! I moved here almost a year ago and I am very picky where I get my Brazilian Wax done. Maria makes you feel comfortable and she is very professional. The facility is super clean and relaxing. Since I get a Brazilian Wax normally it’s super painful or takes forever because I have thick and coarse hair but she some how makes it quick, easy and not as painful as expected! It’s very affordable, and she can give you tips if you get painful ingrown hairs like I do! I recommend this place 100%

Kelly is wonderful. Her extractions are incredible without being extremely painful. My skin was glowing when I left. Most of all though, her prices are so reasonable when compared to other spas in the Honolulu area. I only go in on the weekends so I have to book a few months in advance. I don’t fault her for that though — she’s busy because the price and quality of her facials are exceptional.

Ok, so while the rating for the actual services stays as it was (2 stars), I have to admit that I am very pleasantly surprised (hence the 3^rd star) with the owner’s response to my less-​than-​satisfied review here on Unilocal.She reached out to me by email apologizing in a very kind words, explains the correctional actions she decided to take to avoid such situations in the future and offered me a full refund. I won’t be coming back to test it again, but I do appreciate the efforts to make things right and wish them all the best.

I’ve never had a Brazilian before, and I wanted to make sure I went to the best one around, and after seeing so many positive reviews on here, I finally came here for my first Brazilian.
Maria is SO nice. She talks to you like you’ve been friends forever, so it doesn’t seem awkward during the waxing at all.

Sweet Dreams Skincare has been a safe haven for me. Kelly Deese, the owner, has ensured the place is calm, clean, and simple. The focus is on providing excellent services customized for each client (not on frills, hokey meditation music, or chamomile tea that in fact tastes awful).
Even when I am rushed and demand excellent thorough services, Kelly makes me feel calm and the center of attention.
Kelly is always professional. She ensures confidentiality (even though I knew a co-​worker went to Kelly, I never learned of my co-worker’s business nor had my co-​worker learned of mine). Kelly has never shown «judgment» when providing very personal services – facials, waxing, etc. She also has never missed an appointment or been late for any of my services/​treatments. I never feel as if I have to apologize for expressing my feelings and needs. If I miss appointments, Kelly is understanding.
I appreciate the convenient parking in the basement of the Alan Wong building.
Bottom line: Kelly is super efficient with her waxing. She works quickly to do painful work. The results are always flawless!

I’ve known Kelly for years — she is one of the sweetest, nicest people I know. I’ve gone to her for facials since she opened Sweet Dreams (although I seriously need to make the time to go more often!) and have always been completely happy with the service, price, location, ambiance, everything!

Sweet Dreams Skincare is a cozy, clean, and really well-​decorated skincare spa on S King st. It’s in the same building as Alan Wong’s, a very simple looking and nondescript 3 story building. As others have said, there is free parking in the building (you either go up or down the ramp). Before 4:45, parking is free. After 4:45 there is valet parking. There are also metered stalls on the street, which is where I was able to find parking right in front.
I was looking to get a full face wax, so I spent a LONG time researching a place that had good prices AND good reviews. Almost everywhere else I looked up charged anywhere from $ 45 – 70 for a full face wax. Kelly only charges $ 35, and she is THOROUGH. A full face wax is pretty much exactly how it sounds. Waxing of the whole face to get even the tiniest of baby hairs. She literally got everything! I requested for her not to touch my eyebrows, as I’m very picky about my brows. I’ve gotten a full face wax only once before, but this time around it felt so much more thorough than I can remember. She really takes the time to make sure she gets every little hair. Yes, it’s painful, but it’s waxing!
I really loved how she designed her space. It was a very relaxing environment, and also very clean. I also loved the after products she used post-​wax, to help calm my skin down a bit.
I would definitely return for another wax, and maybe to try out some of her other services to. Her prices are some of the best I’ve seen for quality work.

I’ve been going to Kelly for over a year now and I can’t believe I’ve only written a review now — SHE IS FANTASTIC!
I go for a brazilian and eyebrow wax and it’s wonderful! I’ve been waxed in various other beauty salons around the world and no one compares! Not only is Kelly a wonderfully kind and sweet person but her professionalism is second to none. The procedure (s) are clean, hygenic, safe and quick, not to mention relatively painfree (hey, we’re talking pulling hair out — it’s going to hurt a little!) And the cost is remarkable — I feel like I really should be paying more.
And despite the fact that sometimes I can’t get an appointment when I’d like, I put that down to how busy she is = how great she is!!!
Would totally TOTALLY recommend this place!!!

Why in the world did I not find this place sooner? I had a great experience here getting my deep bikini wax! And the price was great! $ 35 for a deep bikini? I have paid close to $ 50 + tip elsewhere!
Kelly was a doll! She had a lovely personality and took an interest in her clients! She made great conversation and by the time I knew it, it was over!!! Just how I like it! :o)
Parking was free on top or underneath the building (same as Along Wong’s), as well as street parking.

Located in the Alan Wong building, Sweet Dreams is a cute little place with 2 tables I believe. Parking is free inside the building and their hours are great. I was a little apprehensive at first because their prices are on the cheaper side and I was afraid that I was compromising quality for price. But Fear Not… because you get an AMAZING facial for an AMAZINGLY low price here!!!
First time I came here I got the back and facial deluxe. It’s a 2 hour package that completely relaxes and cleanses you. I was soooo happy with it that I immediately rebooked for my next facial at the end of my service.
I really like Maria because she’s not afraid to go to battle with your face. Extractions aren’t pleasant for anyone, but why get a facial if you’re gonna leave all that gunk in your pores right? Maria really goes for it and I’ve teared a couple of times on her table, but left everytime with a smoother and cleaner face.
Do it and you’ll definitely see a difference. And with prices this reasonable, you should pamper yourself… you deserve it! That’s what I always tell myself :)

This update is going to be short and sweet and to the point, because clearly 5 stars in two reviews essentially tells you all you need to know.
When you’re lying there, in one of the most compromising positions of your life, I cannot stress enough how much of an amazing person Kelly is. She makes you forget whatever shame you probably should be embodying and lets you get gutsy enough to just be like «Hey, whatever, it’s all good – I don’t care how much this is going to hurt.» Then suddenly it happens and you think «Crap, what was I thinking, this is torture.» But quite worth it in the more than capable hands of Kelly. From getting my latest entertainment news to restaurant advice, Kelly is a one woman show and if you’re thinking about whether or not to go to another place you’re clearly a fool with selective hearing who hasn’t been listening to the rave reviews.

I walked in and she welcomed me so nicely. She asked me what I wanted to do and took the time to explain. I could tell she really cares and makes every effort to make sure her customers are happy.
It was the first eyebrow waxing session which the person was so dilligent and took her time. She did a great job on reshaping them. The best of the whole experience was that I didn’t break out. I always break out after getting my eyebrows waxed. She cleaned out the area after and put sunskin on.
I appreciated the professionalism, friendly service, and cleanliness of the place. Spas like Don Marcos need to learn from this place. I’m coming back for sure! Thanks Kelly.

Sweet Dreams Skincare is a real gem. I first went there for a facial when I was engaged because I wanted to improve my skin before my wedding. There weren’t many reviews on Unilocal at the time but they were good, and their prices were reasonable compared to other spas so I decided to try it. That was over a year ago and I still see Kelly for facials. Granted, I can’t afford to go often but their prices are fair enough that I don’t feel bad treating myself every few months… before this, I allowed myself facials maybe once a year at best (and my skin suffered for it)!
Yes, the place is small but the ambiance is still peaceful, clean, and professional feeling. I definitely prefer the smaller space to paying higher prices to cover more rent! And Kelly is great and always makes you feel comfortable.

First off, I’ve been religiously getting my wax done for nearly 10+ years now.
I’m pretty impressed with Maria, because she lived true to her reviews.
She’s cool, personable and makes you feel comfortable at her studio. It’s not a huge place, but she keeps it well maintained and has a nice vibe/​décor without any clutter.
My experience was totally different than what I’ve experienced ever before in other studios. I noticed that she used a different type of wax that did not require any wax cloth. The wax simply settled on my skin and she rips it off from there. The gentle touch/​pat right after the pull makes a difference =) Thank you Maria for that… Usually only really experienced aesthetician do little things like that.
I did tell Maria the temperature of the wax was a tad too high, but I’m just glad that I did not have any bad results from that.
I would say the price is decent to good compared to all the websites that I’ve checked out. It’s crazy expensive to live here, so I can’t compare it to L.A. prices. It won’t be fair, because for the same service I would have paid $ 15 less in L.A.
And of course, I will be back for my normal maintenance treatments.
