I love Sun Yoga! Michele and her awesome group of instructors have made a huge, positive impact on my life and well being. There is always a positive energy there. Meditative, an awesome work out, connection with a wonderful group of people. Sun Yoga has had a wonderful and positive impact on my life and highly recommend it to my patients and friends!

Yes! I loved my one class at Sun Yogà. I was visiting the island and got to take a class with Shana Joy and it was more than a yoga class. It was a meditation class and an inspiration with all the wonderful food for thought she presented in her speech while she delicately guided us into postures. The studio was very clean, new, and comfortable with shower. I highly recommend the studio.

Instructors are great! They really care about your practice. It’s such a great community of Yogi’s and Yogini’s. It will change your life!!!

I love sun yoga. The location, the vibe, the flow and especially the instructors. It’s definitely one of my favorite places to be in Hawaii. Please do yourself a favor and check them out.

I have been in different «hot yoga» studios. What I loved about Sun Yoga is the ambiance. The owner and teachers are super nice. Also, I meet a bunch of cool people there (students). I highly recommend!

Best hot yoga studio I’ve ever been to. It’s not a big studio, by it has everything you need. The size provides for a more intimate practice. It’s very clean and tidy. The instructors are kind and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed classes lead by Shana, Amee (?), and Mo. Classes can fill up, so schedule your class if possible to reserve a spot. I will gladly return to this studio. Enjoy! :)

I just finished my fourth class at Sun Yoga and I am so happy I found this place !! We’ve lived here over two years and I have tried four yoga and hot yoga studios an none compare! From the minute I walked into the studio I knew I had found my forever yoga place. The staff is sooo welcoming and encouraging, the atmosphere is peaceful and inviting and the yoga room with it’s bamboo flooring is clean and always has a wonderful calming aroma… I have taken 4 different hot yoga classes at Sun Yoga with four different instructors (on purpose) and I have to say they were ALL wonderful. They are all so encouraging without being intimidating. I cannot give this Yoga studio enough praise, I finally found a hot yoga studio that I actually LOVE going to !!! Thank you Sun Yoga! If I could give 10 stars I would.

Sun Yoga Hawaii is a beautiful & quaint studio tucked away in Aina Haina. Do you remember the old Chuck E Cheese… well they’re right there in a teeny tiny alley by the post office.
I did a Bikram 30 day challenge 5 years ago, so I’m pretty familiar with «hot yoga», but this was my first at an infrared light studio. Lamps are located on all 4 corners of the room (the closer you are to the corner, the hotter it is). If you’re a first timer, I’d recommend setting up your mat by the back door.
I love this studio, because of the lamps & the beautiful nurturing instructors. Selena is my favorite thus far. I like the fact it’s only 60 minutes & they have a shower you can take after.
Parking is free & ample.
Bring tons of towels + water!
Be prepared to feel awesome :)

Sunyoga is amazing for a number of reasons. I didn’t realize how great I would feel until I tried it. After every session my body feels clean and rejuvenated.
After going for a number of times I learned why Sunyoga makes my body feel so good. It is much more beneficial than regular yoga because of the infrared heat. It helps sweat out 20% of toxins instead of just 3% with regular exercise.
Also the infrared light is good for my skin. I have bad acne scarring and every class I try to position myself next to the heat lamp so that my skin will absorb the infrared light. I believe it is the same technology they use in skin care centers to heal skin blemishes. I know my grandma pays an ungodly amount of money to have red light therapy on her skin. Sunyoga offers it while you do yoga!

Beautiful and clean studio, with ample free parking. Very friendly and welcoming staff. I love that owner Michelle, offers ways to save money for the classes, and encourages people to take the class in clever ways. I’m doing my 20 day challenge to get 20% off!

I loved the service! Awesome team of instructors. Studio is clean and always very welcoming. After a hard day of work, it’s a great work out and stress reliever. Definitely would recommend to newbies and long time yoga students. My first time doing hot yoga and it’s wonderful! Don’t say you can’t do it. Try it a couple times and you’ll get hooked! I sure did!

Clean studio. Many classes throughout the day and it works out great. I wish they had little more classes on weekends but overall I recommend this studio. Routine are great and instructors are all female that’s a huge plus. I feel comfortable working out and plenty parking in the shopping center. Sometimes spaces are limited and gets crowded but I like this studio. Very relaxing and feels good afterwards.

I never knew that I could get addicted to this place! I actually feel like a yogi! I was introduced to this place because my friends had a Groupon and one day I decided to try it with them, even without a Groupon. I was welcomed by Shana who told me about what programs they were offering and even took me on a little tour of the studio. She told me to sit near the doors since I was a newcomer and have never experienced hot yoga. She let me decided after class whether or not I would continue with the Introductory Program or just pay the $ 20 single class. After class, I actually felt really good! Although, I initially thought the moves were pretty advanced for me but it didn’t discourage me to come back. I actually like the challenge! I went with the Intro AND I just recently finished their challenge (10 classes= 10% discount). I can’t believe I got really hooked to hot yoga. I like it better than going to the gym! Although, I do plan on trying out other studios, I have a feeling that I will definitely come back and get a membership.

I love coming to Sun Yoga Hawaii. There’s a great family atmosphere and a great place for first time yogis. I’ve been coming to this studio for about 3 years now and my back problems are disappearring. I also enjoy that this is something I can do with my wife and daughter.

Very clean, bamboo flooring, and I love the infrared heating. My skin and muscles feel so good after being in the infrared heat.
You can shower in there if you need, it’s only cool water, though. Adequate changin areas and storage for your belongings.
The instructors are ALL good, each with different mannerisms and teachings. Poses similar to Bikram, but classes are 60 minutes instead of 90 minutes. Although they do offer one 90 minute class at 8:30 am. I enjoy the 15 minutes of deep relaxation at the end of each class. Lots of parking, good variety of class times (either morning and late afternoon/​evening).
Bring a good yoga mat, cover it with a big beach towel (to absorb sweat). Also handy to bring a small sweat towel, and I’ve found it helpful to bring a HUGE thermos of ICE WATER. Important to stay hydrated.

Love it here! I’ve been taking hot yoga classes here for about a month now & thoroughly enjoy it. The studio is kept very clean & is wet-​mopped after each class. The key chain check-​in card is a great and convenient way to check in at the start of each class! Personal belongings are kept safe in the cubby holes in the lobby area (they lock the lobby doors during class & also have security cameras so there’s no need to worry!). Two bathrooms, a shower, & a reverse osmosis water fountain are a huge plus as well.
Also, the parking is super easy since the lot is shared with the shopping center. Though on Saturday mornings the shopping center tends to be busy, so it takes me a little longer to find a stall. The studio is located on the side of the post office (down at the end of the shopping center by the Aina Haina library).

I finished my 10 classes in one month promo and just bought a 20 class pack. I am officially hooked! I have had Ami, Paula, Selena, Virginia and Shana so far and they all have a different energy; they are all wonderful.
Since I’ve started, (in conjunction with my wonderful chiropractor) my shoulders are no longer tight, my back doesn’t hurt, better balance and I have a much better range of motion. Amazing!
For beginners, FYI, I got headaches after the first three classes but made some adjustments and I only feel great now: D

This review is for an Ayurveda class offered by Sun Yoga Hawaii and taught by Akaljas Singh, an Ayurvedic lifestyle counselor.
The special two-​hour class was held just after a hot yoga session so the room at first was steamy hot and I had half a mind to run out the door as I had flashbacks to a particularly stinky session at a Bikram yoga studio.
Fortunately, this studio was aired out, cleaned and comfortably cool by the session and with no lingering aromas. Natural light filtered through curtain-​covered glass windows as nine of us sat on yoga mats facing our instructor who exuded a calm, peaceful demeanor.
Ayurveda, we learned, is the science of living a long and healthy life and originates out of India. We are composed of five elements — ether (space between the wind), air, fire, water and earth — and each of us has a particular combination of these elements.
By understanding your individual nature — Vata (ether and air), Pitta (fire and water) and Kapha (earth and water) — you will learn what is best for your body and mind. For those who love food, Ayurveda teaches us about the six tastes — sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent and astringent — that stir the ‘agni’ or fire in the naval. Essentially, these are the foods that best aid in digestion and nutrition absorption for your individual body type.
If you’ve ever wondered why you feel a certain way after eating a meal (e.g. sleepy, alert, bloated, irritable), Ayurveda will teach you why and what foods to avoid and enjoy for your particular body. Ironically, we tend to crave the very foods we should avoid.
Proper nutrition, massage and yoga practice are part of a healthy lifestyle, and likely explains why Akaljas Singh emanates inner peace. Next time he offers an Ayurveda class, it would be well worth it to check it out! Fascinating stuff.
