One of the less than decent ones. I order the same deal. They put less meat than normal. Asked about it and she said that’s the way it is — but I know the spec is not. Didn’t argue, just noted to share.

Whaaaaaaat? I come here all the time, and can’t belieeeeee I neva write a review about this place! I just don’t understand all the negative reviews about this place, as I come here all the time, as it is convenient for me, and because my office is just down the road. Maybe since my coworkers & I are regulars, the workers here, as well as the owner are very nice, and courteous to us. When we do come here, we usually go for the«daily special» — which consist of the featured sandwich of the day(6 inch sandwich), a medium drink, and you can get a bag of chips, or if you don’t like chips, you can get 2 cookies. All of this for just $ 6.00 bucks! Wot a dealage!!! You know, the daily special use to be only $ 5.50(but I found out the price has gone up to $ 6.00 bucks now), as I went to eat lunch here today… I also found out that they made a slight adjustment to the menu, as Friday’s use to be our — «Tuna Fridays» sandwich day! But as I got here for lunch today, the tuna sandwich was off the menu, and the«BLT Sandwich» was replaced for the Friday special. As I got my BLT Sandwich today… all I can say is, — «Where’s da BACON?»(see my tip) Lol! Well, as they were building my sandwich, I could clearly see they just put 3 slices of bacon, with my choice of cheese, I had them toast my sandwich, then I had them load up the veggies! What can I say about my BLT… well, it’s not something I would normally go for at Subways, but since it was today’s special, and I wanted a cheap $ 6.00 meal… I just went with it. To be honest, I did not taste the bacon, but I surely tasted the veggies! But no matter, I should eat more veggies anyways, cuz as you get older… you gotta stay regular(if you know what I mean). Sorry TMI! Lol! Sandwich was not so good today… but service is always good here! The Subway workers, & store owner are very nice to us, so I had to bump it up a point. There is limited parking in the back of the building…(like 7 parking stalls, and 1 parking stall for physically challenged people). The parking is shared by the Indian restaurant, so there is limited parking. If you cannot find parking… they do have limited street parking. Just a tip — I always go early before the normal lunch crowd(around 11ish or so), that way I can get parking in the back of the building. This Subway shop has a very high«walk-in customer traffic», as the store is not too far from the University of Hawaii(Manoa), therefore a lot of students come here to grub. Sometimes there is a slight wait, when a lot of people walk into the shop all at once… das why I come early!

We were trying to grab something quick on the way to the university and decided to stop by here to get some sandwiches. Usually when I come to a subway, there’s no problem… I wait my turn, pick my sandwich, pick my vegetables, pay, and that’s it… However the service here for some reason took extra long. There was only one person in front of us and it took forever just to finish making his sandwich. I could even tell from the expression on the guy’s face in front of us that he too was frustrated with how long it was taking. When it finally got to be my turn, I told the lady what I wanted, and she didn’t even know what kind of sandwich it was(note that this is on the main menu). She took both mine and my boyfriends order and began making our sandwich. When she started putting our vegetables on, I had to repeat what I wanted on the sandwich about 3 times… I didn’t really mind, but I did mind that it took about 10 minutes to make our sandwich(it shouldn’t take that long). Another worker came in and took the next persons order after ours… she finished making his sandwich before the other lady finished making half of ours… Maybe I was being impatient… I don’t know but whatever it was, it was frustrating… I probably won’t be coming to this subway ever again to be honest.

When walking into this establishment, you catch this vibe that the workers do not want to service you. Do not expect a service with a smile if you come here. The person that was putting my sandwich together did not say one word to me at all. Even when they normally would ask what you would like and if you wanted your sandwich toasted… NOTHING! You’ll just get an stare that screams to you: «Hurry the hell up and finish with your order because I don’t want to deal with you.» Food wise, it is your typical below standard subway sandwich. Pretty mediocre. And their soup of the day sign, not relevant.(Therefore, one star) The probability of coming back to this establishment: highly unlikely. OVERALL: bad experience, not recommended unless you’re really craving for subway and this is the nearest location.

This was my first and last time coming to this Subway. We came in a little before 8 which is over an hour before closing. They had all of their bread put away. When the lady behind the counter asked which bread Id like, she became all huffy and puffy when I said I wanted a 6″ Italian bread(as if it was the hardest thing in the world to cut the bread). When she put the avocado in my sandwich, she put one huge line of it and didn’t bother spreading it like most subway restaurants do. Also, while adding the veggies she put very little of everything but put a huge handful of onions. All the vegetables were in the middle of the sandwich, nothing really at the ends. She didn’t even ask if I wanted salt, pepper, oil, or vinegar; she just wrapped up the sandwich and put it in the bag. This subway has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. I am most definitely not coming back here!

This review if for the location on S. King near Down to Earth. Please note this is for breakfast, not lunch. Parking is limited but somehow I always find good parking(I’ve been known as the Prince of Parking). The Western Egg & Cheese footlong caught my eye and it had 24 grams of protein, under 400 calories all for six dollars This is one of the smaller locations. I read how some had bad experiences with employees attitudes but they seemed to be ok for being there in the morning. I’m not big on small talk so it was A-ok by me. Looking around, I noticed that the floors were as dirty as a Paris Hilton video, but I guess when you’re hungry, certain obstacles can be overlooked. It comes with Black Forest Ham, peppers, onions, and melty cheese on a pita like flatbread, and it is available all day during the month of July. The sandwhich had at least 1120 mg of sodium so if you can handle that then the sandwich is not bad. I did ask for them to put a couple of other toppings which they did. For $ 6 it was ok as it seemed like they skimping on the meat a little.

It’s been 1 year almost to the day since my last review. I went for breakfast, so I can’t say how the afternoon shift is, or if the 2 whispering and smirking girls are still there. However: I got a great sandwich artist who had great customer service skills, and made a quality breakfast sandwich, the music was at a tolerable level — meaning as background like it’s supposed to be, as compared to being at a concert like it was before. That was refreshing. They got a new and higher sneeze guard, which is quite nice to see. If I ever go there in the afternoon I’ll rate on that, but I can say with confidence that the AM is the best time to go.

Probably the worst subway I’ve been to. The employees are depressing and when their whispering among themselves while you are ordering and then giggling it makes you feel uncomfortable. They never smile, they do the absolute minimal talking. When my husband had gone in he would order something they’d ask him to repeat it a few times and then they’d give him a ugly look as if he’s stupid. We try to avoid this subway as much as possible but it’s in walking distance to our home, and sometimes we don’t feel like driving. The first couple of times I tipped them hoping it was just a bad couple of days for these girls, but nevermore, they are permanently stuck on angry. Only reason this place even deserves that one star is because of their food. Thank God they make your food right in front of you, these girls are the type to spit in your food because their lives suck.

My last visit to this location will probably be my last. The food is okay, pretty standard for any subway, but the customer service here was SUBPARSUCKYCRAP. There were two girls behind the counter, barely spoke english. Now mind you, I have no problem with people behind the counter who have trouble speaking english, snaps to them for having a job. But these two girls would talk to each other in their native tongue, while looking at me, then snicker or laugh. When I asked them any questions on the menu they would just point to the overhead menu and say nothing. When I asked for info on management such as when their supervisor comes in or what they’re contact # was, they would smile at me and say they had no idea. I tried calling the store back and one of the girls answered. When I asked to speak to a manager she said there was none there and had no idea when one would be coming in. I tried calling back shortly after that and magically no one answered the phones. There are enough subways in the area where I can save myself the headache and not have to go back over there.

I love Subway. But not this one. I’ll never be going back to this Subway. That sucks to say considering I live a five minutes walk from here. I’ve never come across so many terrible employees in one place. Call me a fool but I’ve put up with it four or five times. The first few experiences were so-so. The employees were unfriendly, but hey, sandwiches were okay, so I dealt with it. One time, the girl finished making my sandwich and went to ring me up. She stood there staring blankly at the register for 3 minutes without pressing anything. I am not exaggerating. Was she new? Was she high? Or just that slow? After about a minute I asked if there was a problem, she mumbled something and directed her attention back to the register. It took another few minutes for someone else to come over and help. Another time, I asked for just a little bit of mayo. The girl slathers on four or five thick lines of the stuff on my sandwich. I was horrified! Not because she had put so much on, but because ANYBODY would think that much mayo was okay! Did she misunderstand me? I wouldn’t be surprised. English is no longer a first language at this Subway. I had to stop her and ask to scrape that crap off. I guess it didn’t help much, I ended up getting an upset stomach from that sandwich. This last time I was in a rush and Subway seemed like the best option. It was in the morning and they had that new buy one 6″ before 9am, and get the second free. So I rush in at 8:57am thinking the deal might make up for things. I was next in line, by the time it was my turn, it was about 9:02. The employee asks me what I want. I ask if I can still get the 2 for 1 deal. She mumbles something about, if I had come a few minutes earlier. I say, «but I did come a few minutes earlier.» She just shakes her head. Cool. Thanks for helping me decide to never come back. I walked out. Instead I ran over to Down to Earth and got some delicious food from the hot bar.

This subway is legend… wait for it… dary. I don’t think the workers suck, but it’s clearly just me. They’ve always been friendly and generous with portions with me. I think they just appreciate the fact that I ask them how they are doing. I will go to this subway as long as I live in the area.

The workers here suck. All the time. Food is Subway standard. Employees will put the minimal amount of stuff on your sub, so if you want more of anything speak up. Other than that, conveniently located near the student district and across 24hr Longs. Seriously, laaaaame workers. I’d much rather go to the one in Manoa just to get better service.

I don’t know what all the craze is about Subway… no matter where I go, it’s all the same. Oh wait, they’re franchised! D’uh! Well, they’re the healthiest one if that counts for anything! :)

This Subway is about your average Hawai’i Subway. Some of the sandwiches here aren’t quite as good as the sandwiches at the UH Manoa campus Subway and the service is slower(altough you actually get your food faster because there’s no line), but I come here on weekends when the Campus Center is closed. I like how every day of the week invovles a special on a different sandwich, whereas some subways offer specials on a single sandwich for an entire week or no specials at all.

Daily specials, $ 2.99 for 6-inch. Avoid the soup; it sits in the warmer all day, goes in the fridge at night, then goes back into the warmer the next day. Repeat cycle. At this location they make their tuna with 1 part tuna, 1 part mayo. Wow. Park on the street or behind the restaurant(same lot as Maharani).
