We have a Toyota Prius with 278xxx miles on the engine and brought our car to Stewart’s Auto to get the steering checked. I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect, since usually repair shops are notorious for dishonesty. I explained to Stewart that we planned on shipping our car and then driving it across the mainland so we wanted to make sure everything was safe. Not only did he do that, but he did it without all of the drama usually associated with mechanics. Very professional, pleasant and knowledgeable. He did excellent work and had it done before he promised. We drove our car many thousands of miles since he worked on it and we’re very pleased. No surprises and no issues with his repairs down the road. A good, honest, reliable, guy. Gratitude Stewart for your help!

Stewart’s Auto is bar none, the very best in Honolulu! They are knowledgeable, professional but above all HONEST! Never will they recommend unnecessary or unwarranted repair like the «consultants» at dealerships do. I was extremely grateful to a friend who recommended me taking my car to them a few years ago and have been so very happy and pleased with their service ever since. Please know that you need to be prepared to reserve far in advance because they are always booked solid but then again, it’s expected when you have the outstanding reputation as Stewart’s Auto has.

Stewart’s Auto Service is one of the best places to repair your car. I’ve had my Acura and Lexus timing belts changed there. He did a great job repairing my cars using OEM parts. He specializes on certain makes of cars like Honda, Acura, Toyota and Lexus. He is so busy that you will need to call and schedule a time to bring in your car. He is straight forward about the repairs, easy to talk to, and fair in his prices. I am pleased with his work and I will recommend him to my family and friends.

I have never EVER EVER EVER EVER (In my smokey from the movie friday voice) wrote a review before, BUT stewart auto deserves one. I wish i could give a million stars! All I can say is «thank goodness for Stewart’s Auto Service». When my 2003 Highlander’s accelerator problem couldn’t be fixed by another local mechanic and then the Dealer’s Service Dept. I checked Unilocal and selected Stewart ‘s. He assessed the problem and fixed it without hassle and charged me an extremely fair price. Three months later I returned to have the timing belt replaced as recommend for a car 10+ years old. She drives like a new car. Stewart’s really deserves all those 5 star ratings!

Stewart went above and beyond, helped us when every other service center could not see our car for 3 months.

Back in 2012 with our ’01 Accord at 140K miles decided to fix than sell and was looking for a reliable Accord mechanic and friend at work suggested I call Stewart’s Auto Service b/​c of their professional work and reliability. Fast forward to Jan 2016 Stewart rebuilt the transmission a year ago and it operates so smoothly and flawlessly –better than the original. The V6 3.0 engine is still strong — had some other work done on it with confidence. If your looking for a Professional Honda Master Mechanic then Stewart’s Auto Service is the place to go.

No smoke screen or feelings of being suckered especially in a «need help» circumstance. We appreciate the time they took to explain our options. We have dealt with shady mechanic shops before, utilizing Unilocal for the search of quality service, seeing the 5 star reviews helped with just the decision to call. From start to follow ups to the work explanation to calling our warranty coverage to cost quote … 5 stars doesnt capture the integrity and amazing quality service we received. Our car gets us to work and is a necessity they really oozed the service of help and not prey on our vulnerability. So how fast did we receive this help … we called this morning, told to bring it in today and our car was ready to be picked up by 4pm.

I been taking my Ridgeline here for 5years for tune ups. Stewart is very nice guy with lots of knowledge. His crew is very friendly. Just make sure you set appointment in advance cause he’s that good there small kine waiting time. Never had emergency so I don’t know if you can take to him right a way. If you have a honda this is the place to go.

Great service. For radiator replacement I received Same Day Service with no appointment. I was surprised. Mahalo Stewart and his staff. I will come again.

Best Auto shop I’ve been too! Like previous reviews this place is Awesome! They’re Honest, Cheap and fast! I have a 2003 4Runner V8. I was quoted about 2100 $ for getting my timing belt water pump and the recommended service for cars over 100k miles, but ended up paying 1600 $ for service I wanted, plus idler, tensioner, 2 oil seals, water pump, v-​belt, thermostat, gaskets, and all radiator hoses! Also was quoted 2 days for the maintenance to be completed, as Awesome as they are Stewart’s finish the maintenance that day! I dropped my car off at 7am maintenance was completed at 445pm! I would highly recommend anybody to Stewart’s, but be forewarned this place is Great so expect to wait a month to schedule your service. Other than that no problems!

Stewart’s da man! Recently took my Lexus here for a maintenance and I am pleased with the job they did. I got referred by my uncle and I owe him my life. Seriously, the price for what you pay here verses taking it back to the dealer is unbelievable! I was being told «dumb» by everyone when I told them I take my car in to the dealer and paying $ 500+ every time. I feel like Stewart did a way better job than the guys at Lexus.
The dealership is way too overrated and over priced. I had no idea I could take my car anywhere besides the dealer! I know, how stupid and clueless am I. This was my first time here and definitely not my last time.
My car was supposed to go in for a service only but an hour after I dropped off my car, I got a phone all from Stewart saying my brake pads were low and he asked if I wanted to change it. I felt very pleased with his service and how efficient they work! Amazing service and work. If you need any car service done, be sure to call Stewart! He’ll answer whatever questions you have and your car will be in great hands!
After picking up on my Lexus, I already scheduled 4 appointments for all my other cars at home.
Just a heads up, this place is booked up to a month atleast so call in advance!

I’m torn between demanding Unilocal provide an option for a 6-​star review; and between not reviewing Stewart’s at all, for fear they’ll become too busy to get an appointment again.
Instead, I’ll take the middle-​of-​the-​road approach and rate what Stewart fully deserves: a glowing 5 stars.
In my experience, mechanics are money-​grubbing hustlers that leave a bad taste in your mouth. They see you as a fistful of dollar signs, and they’ll reel you in with whatever bogus shenanigans they can peddle to collect as much as they can from you. Come for a basic oil change? Leave with a recommendation to flush your engine, coolant, change your wiper blades, realignment, tire rotation, and heck, buy some new floor mats while you’re there. It’$ $o, $o, $o tempting to up$ell the $uckah$!!
Factoring in my ready-​made cynicism, we selected Stewart’s based on other glowing Unilocal reviews and made an appointment to fix a dinged tail light and side mirror on our Honda Odyssey.
Welcome, one and all, to the most Unilocal-​tastic customer service experience that potentially has EVER taken place at a car repair shop. Good-​bye cynicism; hello alternate universe of honesty and exemplary service.
My parts were ordered THAT DAY, with an estimated delivery time of 1:30. Stewart called at 1:25 to tell me they were running 15 minutes late due to a delivery error, so I needn’t come in until then. Wait, whaaat? You mean you’re not going to leave me sitting around, and you’re solving my problem that day, instead of telling me to come back another day? Stewart, I ‘heart’ you.
The part that arrived didn’t end up fitting my side mirror though, so he called around until another could be delivered ASAP.
When I came back, he quickly fixed what was wrong and told me he wouldn’t even charge for labor because it was such a quick repair. Now, in any other situation, I would have argued with a mechanic about that exact fact. Instead, he took the moral road without a word from me. How… completely… refreshing!
I’m tempted to buy a Honda again in the future, just so I know that I have a quality mechanic I can count on. Stewart is truly a man who takes pride in having his name on the building.
Just one pressing question: Can he be cloned to replace every other mechanic in the world?

Service ⁵⁄₅:
I’ve visited twice and it is indeed true that he will not fix something that does not need fixing. The quality of work is pretty good from what I have experienced, though my «fixes» were really minor. He specializes in Honda and Toyota (with subsidiaries) I believe. But BASIC repairs/​maintenance for other cars should be fine in case you were wondering.
Stewart also explains things very well and will only make recommendations when necessary. He may even make a recommendation not to change/​replace something if it’s not necessary. Trust me, I’ve been there.
Parts ⁵⁄₅:
From what I understand, Stewart will call in for Honda genuine parts first before looking for aftermarket (aka: generic) ones. Honda parts are generally pricey, but because auto shops can get a discount on OEM parts, you may be in luck!
Pricing & MORE! 3.5÷5:
Labor is expensive, but I have figured it out my friends! And I am here to tell you exactly what you need to know. This $ 120+ diagnosis fee some people complain about, is what I refer to as a «fine for being an idiot.» Why am I telling you this? Because I was an idiot and I’m willing to admit it. It’s basically a fee for people who come in and don’t know exactly what is wrong with their car so Stewart and his team need to take their time to evaluate the issue. Which leads me to my next point, come in with an educated guess!
If you ask him to replace a part that you know is broken, you’re in luck! No diagnosis fee for you. He’ll even check it to make sure that that really is what needs fixing. If you’re right, there is no charge. If you’re WRONG… then you have to pay the idiot fine like I did. So my tip, be smart about it. Heck, if you can find a deal, you might even be able to bring in your own parts and pay him for labor.
Overall:
I think Stewart is fair and if you were wondering, I am an auto enthusiast which basically means, I like cars and working on them (on the easy stuff, anyway), but I’m not trained or certified to do so. Therefore, when I went in for a problem which I thought was the wheel bearing, and it turned out to be loose lug nuts, I had to pay my dubbed «idiot fine.»
Anyway, $ ¹²⁰⁄₃ loose lug nuts = $ 40 per count of stupidity. I was happy to pay it though, because I knew it would’ve been a waste of their time if I didn’t. I have respect for Stewart and his team regardless of what mistakes I made that they had to correct. I understand what they do and why they do it and I accept their methods.
Therefore, I recommend this place ONLY for people who know what needs to be fix/​replaced. Paying a fine for being dumb can hurt your pride and your wallet. #honesty #iknowhashtagsdontwork

Being the Duke is a good thing, but being the Duke of a car place probably isn’t. That means your car sucks! Or you’re really unlucky.
Stewart’s has been my go-​to place for servicing, repairs, and general well-​being. Ever since the first time bringing my car in, I have been a fan. Stewart has low prices, is fast, and is very honest in his work. After bringing my car in yesterday, I just had to write this review.
My car battery was very weak and I almost couldn’t get my car started after having lunch with my mom. I called Stewart around 3:30 pm and they said they could change it if I bring my car in. I did and Stewart had a look. He tested it and said the battery needed to be replaced. He wiped off the corrosion on the battery and noticed that it was a Honda battery. Stewart said that the battery may still be under warranty and I should contact Honda. He said if the battery was, I could get it replaced for free.
I called Honda and they checked their records. The battery had a three year warranty and it was still under warranty being only 2 ½ years old! I told Stewart thanks and rushed over to Honda where it was replaced for free!
What I found awesome was that Stewart could have easily replaced the battery and charge $ 100 or so and I would have not known any difference. He was really honest instead and saved me a good amount of money. Stewart has definitely won over a lifelong customer. Thanks so much!

Poor workmanship and profesionalism.
Didn’t even seem they had the know-​how. Alot of «uhhhh this» and «uhhh that» and my favorite «it doesnt seem that bad», Then asked if i just wanted him to add an addititive. Then i i had to wait an hour to pay before i could hurry up and leave this place, because I had to wait while the desk clerk ate and goofed off for an hour 20 feet away. The desk girl talked up what he was gonna do, and then he didnt do ANYTHING, other than waste my gas driving it and revving engine… Firestone had better customer service and insight, and seemed more knowledgeable on their profession! And thats sayin somethin since Firesone blows.

had a great experience getting my repair work done at Stewart’s.
I called to get info and was greeted by a warm friendly voice. While speaking to the lady, she listened to my description and informed me of the need to make an appointment. As Stewart’s reputation for good work at fair prices is known on Oahu, I was told that my appointment would be 3 weeks’ wait. As I my car was still running, I was fine with waiting.
When I arrived at 7am, there they were ready to receive me and let me know that they would inform me of the diagnosis before making any moves.
After learning I needed a new catalytic converter for my 1999 Honda CRV, I was expecting to spend over $ 1000, but Stewart was able to provide me with a new one installed at for $ 675 installed!!! GREAT, I’ll take that deal.
Shortly after this I found that I was also in need for new front suspension, and again, they provided great service at a price less than I expected.
I highly recommend Stewart’s Automotive, just be patient and make your appointment in advance.
