During my stay on the island of Oahu, I ate at several places and Spada by far, was my favorite! I have never had such an amazing and savory plate of chicken marsala! I’ve eaten at several Italian restaurants where I live in/around Phoenix, AZ and by far– best Italian food I’ve had. The staff is a bit inattentive and were chatty with themselves but service was prompt. I personally do not like being asked several times by the wait staff how my food is or if my drink is ok, when it is clearly full, so I didn’t mind the inattentiveness. The ambiance reminded me of restaurants at home– a bit sports bar’ish yet eclectic. I cannot give this restaurant any further positive remarks in that the food was amazing and even a month later after my visit– I’m craving the food I ate there. Please come to Phoenix! Thank you again!

Convenient spot for a quick downtown power lunch. Good service and good food, but rather pricey.

For those people that left five stars I must ask if you think Olive Garden is good. This one if not the worst Italian restaurant I have ever been at. Not only is the food so bland its like eating baby food but the Head Waiter is so arrogant you just wanted to slap him upside his head. I ordered four different items. The antipasto which was bad cheese and the worse cold cuts every presented. The second dish was there Pizza. If you like Little Cesar’s you ill love there’s. Cheapest toppings I have ever eaten on a pizza and soggy beyond believe. There special was Fettuccini Alfredo. I will say that of all the things I have complained about this was the worst. It tasted like you where eating past on an overdone noodle. I asked them if this was al dente and there answer was I have no idea what I am talking about. The blond haired head waiter asked if I have ever eaten Italian food. My answer was yes and this is not Italian food. I agree with one of the critics that the tiramisu was just about as bad as everything else. Bottom line if you like to spend a lot of money on great food. Please don’t eat here.

I have never had a problem here in way of service or with food. The Mediterranean Pizza and the Caprese Salad are always very good. This is not THEBEST of Honolulu but in the financial district where there is a Starbucks, Jamba Juice and Jack in the Box it’s one of the Nicer sit down restaurants.

What an awful experience. The menu boasts a soup of the day but when asked what it was, the server just gave me a blank stare and said, we don’t have soup. The bread was old and rock hard, after asking about it the server admitted it had been sitting out all day. I ordered the Caprese salad and was told the restaurant was out of basil but not to worry, it just got laid on top of the dish. If you like Caprese, you know the basil is an important ingredient. We ended up cancelling our order and leaving. This place is a joke.

I went there for lunch with my mother, and we ordered their pizza, which was fantastic! The only problem was that when we ordered the tiramisu for dessert, it was the worst one I’ve ever had. It was so soggy it looked like it had just been dipped in water. The service was average.

Oasis-like ambience amidst bustling Waikiki is appreciated. Unfortunately, the food isn’t very good. They call this Italian so where’s the garlic? Flavorless food is about as unItalian as you can get and highly dissapointing. From the bread to the salad to the main entrees, for the prices here(about $ 25-$ 30 per entrée) you can and should do better.

This place is highly underrated! The food is fantastic and the service is also great! I highly recommend the Spaghetti Puttanesca or the Salmon Salad for lunch. Wine prices are reasonable and the service is very quick! Two thumbs up!

Please spend your money somewhere else!!! Had breakfast two different days here. Definitely both times the service(or lack of) was horrible-inattentive, very very slow. Food was so-so. A gratuity and a service charge were added to our bill the second time(and we were not notified nor was it explained). The waiter probably realized I would have left him a less than 15% gratuity given his mildly surly attitude. He gave me attitude when I brought it to his attention the mistake made on my order. Also the potatoes both days were undercooked, the English muffin was still soggy/doughy inside! This is after waiting from the mess up on my order. And, of course, he never apologized or verbally acknowledged the mistakes.

Solid Northern Italian food. The food is is very good. The portions aren’t skimpy at all. Besides just pasta, the menu ventures into some of the lesser exposed dishes of Italy. They also serve pizza, though I have sampled them yet. If they are as good as their pasta and other entrée dishes, I wouldn’t be disappointed. I have never been displeased with any dish I have had here. I love the rich flavors of some of the dishes, and I love the diversity of flavors others offer. The food definitely captures that rustic flavor of regions like Tuscany. I would say that it is the one of the best Italian places on the island; now that inspirational Donato’s and comparable C&C Pasta are gone. The place can get very crowded around lunch. The downtown lunch crowd will pile in here, and making reservations for lunch would be a wise decision. For anyone downtown, I would think this place would be perfect for pau hana time for people getting off work. The place is also open for dinner, and is not crowded. Plan accordingly to get a chance to sample some of the great food here. However, the service here can be slow an inattentive. Sometimes, the staff isn’t too knowledgeable of the menu. The décor is also strange. It is almost like a upper-end sports bar meets a wine country eatery. Despite some hiccups, the food is a fantastic draw for this place.

My first impression of this place is that it is such a cute restaurant. Located in the heart of busy downtown, this 2-level restaurant gives you the vibe of a modern little Italy. There’s a cocktail bar with a large flat-screen tv playing reruns of the Italia team from the world cup. Food here is excellent. Before the entrée arrives, the home-made bread comes nice and warm, fresh from the oven. I am not sure what they put in the bread, but it tasted like it was sourdough bread with many herbs & dried sunkissed tomatoes. I always end up ordering the familiar, pizza. I tried the vegetarian pizza with eggplant. To me, you can’t really go wrong with pizza. The dough wasn’t too thick(just the way I like it) & I could definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients. I also tried out my friend’s… the long hollow shaped pasta(not sure what the proper name is.) This is definitely a must-have. The pasta definitely brought out the flavors of salami, tiny chunks of meat, basil, & cheese in the meat sauce. Every single bite was absolutely amazing. Portions are very generous. 2 plates could probably feed 3 people. My friend & I could not finish our meals, so we definitely took home doogy bags. Service here is friendly, but very slow.
