Specialties
Our signature dish is easily our Fish (or chicken) Tacos! Keep in mind we are not a Mexican restaurant. We have our own twist… local style as we call it. All plates come with Hapa rice (brown and white mix), our popular slaw, and tuna macaroni salad. Other «signature» dishes are our full sized, open wide, SSG Burger and Mix Plate (boneless BBQ Chicken and KalBi ribs, AND a Fish Taco). In-house salads, kids menu, burritos, sandwiches, Garlic Fries or spicy fries, and homemade desserts like Peanutbutter temptations and even 2 layer chocolate cake round out our menu. History
Established in 2004.
2009, we are now going into our 5th year seving up hungry surfers, hikers, tourist, and the working stiff. Our basics are still the same (Fish tacos, plate lunches, and sandwiches), but we have added to and evolved SSG. Switching to biodegradeable plates and increasing our recycling was one step «do our part». A larger kids menu, Shrimp tacos, Hamburger steak with roasted garlic brown gravy, snack sized items like Quezadillas, new desserts, and Taco Tuesdays with $ 2 tacos all day. Still family owned and operated, you will find Bruce or Jennifer in SSG often, and maybe even meet new baby Chloe. Repainted and slightly redecorated in the summer of 08, don’t let it fool you, we still are serving up your favorite ono (delicious) grinds all day.
Meet the Business Owner
Bruce B.
Business Owner
I grew up in Hawaii an avid surfer, among other things, I know the need for good food, in good sizes, to refill all your lost energy! (then a nap). I love our local style of taking an item (ie fish tacos) and putting a spin on it. With such diversity in Hawaii, there are so many ways to tweak or combine pieces on, and within, a dish that brings out a whole other flavor that you didn’t expect. Jenn, my wife, is often in to help out, and her passion is teaching the next generation as a Hawaii school teacher. A beautiful wife, she is also an exceptional mother to our brand new baby Chloe. Cute and adorable, she has already learned how to use the grill. (I’m kidding child services). Dedicated christians, fellowshipping at One Love Ministries in Kaimuki, we thank God and praise him for the success of SSG. It is because of His giftings that we are able and honored to continue to serve you all your favorites. Aloha
