Open Space Yoga’s mission is to create an atmosphere where each student finds their own way into Yoga. We understand that we can not put yoga in a box and label it. Yoga is not defined as one system or tradition but in fact has infinite ways of expression.

At Open Space Yoga Hawaii we value and respect the varying forms and expressions of Yoga. As we grow and evolve collectively, we understand that Yoga is about the individual path which is what we are all here to ultimately support.

Open Space Yoga has partnered with Himalayan Institute to bring you the most comprehensive teachings on Yoga, Tantra & Ayurveda. Please visit our website for more information.

History

Established in 2004.

The Purpose of Yoga is to Unify the Body, Breath and Mind, Creating a Balanced all-around Development of Human Potential. Yoga is the idea that something changes, being uninterrupted attention, the unifying of two things and the movement of one point to a higher point. Yoga requires nothing more than the desire to feel better and think clearer in all areas of life.

Mary Bastien, RYT and Rain Magyar started Open Space Yoga in 2004 on Maunakea Street in Hawaii’s historical Chinatown. They both saw Chinatown as not only a cultural melting pot, but as a developing neighborhood filling with new art galleries and boutiques.
