Who would have thought the best Cuban Sanwich on the island is from a tiny little shop outside of Lowes. Omg and don’t even get me started on her sausage sandwiches. So friendly, nice and good taste in food. Love love love. It’s a ten out of ten would recommend.

What the hidden gem?! *stars in my eyes* ladies and gents, PLEASE do yourself a favor and check out this sandwich stand in front of Lowes on Nimitz! As we say in NorCal, it’s «HELLABOMB!» My coworker has been bugging me about going to try this place for theeeee longest and I finally gave in. I just wasn’t convinced that I was going to fall in LOVE with a sandwich stand! But I was terribly mistaken. HYPES: The owner is the nicest, sweetest lady you’ll ever meet! She makes her sandwiches with LOVE! How do I know?! I don’t even know how to answer that, when you know you’re in love, you just KNOW! I got the cubano… a panini type buttered bread with a sweet special yellow sauce, ham, roast pork, pickles and Swiss! Sounds basic, but please believe. Its«the sandwich everyone comes back for» according to sweet owner lady. Every bite was messy and SLOPPY, but worth every bite! Reasonably priced as well! I want to try every single sandwich now… PRONTO! GRIPES: None really… just that you can’t see the name of this stand visibly… you just have to know where it is! As long as you know lowes, you’ll find it. But to be honest, this sandwich stand is probably one of those places I will send ALL my visiting friends to. The best kept secret in Honolulu is this stand. This sandwich place will go down in history for me… I will probably keep talking about this place until I die because it is FORSURE everything you could want in a sloppy sandwich. Please try this place and support this kind lady! You won’t regret it. *****

Bought the Banh Mi and the Chicken Pesto — so delicious! Just the right amount of food and super cheap. $ 7.50 for a sandwich in Honolulu of that caliber is unheard of! And very conveniently located in the Lowe’s parking lot. Excellent service and the lady that runs it is very sweet and friendly. Go for lunch! She closes at 3!

Awesome sandwiches and varieties! Definitely a must stop place when your in town and want a snack. $ 7.50 and a whole lot of flavor. Today I got the Cuban, containing ham, roast pork, pickles, mayo, on a French style baguette. Will come back again for the chicken pesto!

I work in Iwilei and have walked past this small counter and canopy dozens of times. But I never stopped to check it out until my boss, inspired by the movie«Chef,» asked me to find a Cuban sandwich. That’s when I met Nancy, the hard-working entrepreneur who clearly takes sandwiches seriously. The signature offering at this sandwich cart(which does say Island Sandwich Creations, from a different incarnation of the business) is the Cuban sandwich. And when I mentioned«Chef,» Nancy assured me she does the Cuban justice, explaining her meticulous attention to quality pork roast and preparation. «I call this my ‘come back’ sandwich,» she smiled, «Because people who order it always come back.» She took her time with preparation, and grilled it absolutely perfectly, a crisp and firm toast with perfectly melted cheese, and just the right amount of sour(most places put too much mustard and pickles for my tastes, but I’m not Cuban). My boss and coworkers were very impressed with the preparation, the texture, the flavor, and declared within the first two bites that we’d be doing that again. Nancy was right! I look forward to trying the other sandwiches on the menu, all reasonably priced at $ 7 or less, but the Cuban is definitely a winner.

I came here with my friend the other day to kill some time before the floating lantern festival. It’s a cute little cart right outside of Lowes with the cutest owner ever; Nancy! She is such a sweetheart and literally puts all her love into all the food she makes(which hella superb by the way). My friend and I had a little bit of everything: Cuban sandwich: This one is my absolute favorite! It’s so interesting and nothing like I had before: D Nancy calls it her«come back» sandwich. You know why? Because whoever orders this will definitely come back ;) LOL I 1000000x recommend this one! You won’t be disappointed :) Pesto chicken sandwich: I love pesto chicken in general so of course I fell in love with this one. I took a bite and I swear the cheese could of stretched for miles LOL that’s when you know you’re eating great cheese ;) Banh mi: This was Nancy’s take of the vietnamese sandwich and it was pretty good ^_^ it tasted authentic! Definitely looks the part too :3 I’m Vietnamese so I know what I’m talking about LOL Jalepeno poppers/French Fries/Mozzarella Sticks: Yummy yummy fried stuff! I never had jalepeno poppers so this was a first for me. Of course it had a spice kick to it, but I’m pretty sure anyone can handle it especially with delicious ranch to pair it off with ;3 I absolutely love french fries!!! And these were a winner! It had the nicest crunch to it and it was so beautiful! I honestly wish I had more LOL The mozzarella sticks speaks for itself because who doesn’t love cheese sticks? especially with marinara? Just heaven :) Overall, I loved every single thing I ate. Great food and a great owner! If I had a bigger stomach, I would of licked the plates clean and wiped off every crumb I could find! But I prevailed through and tried to finish everything because I hate carrying bags with me LOL but I kind of regret it because about 2 – 3 hours later, I was craving for more of Nancy’s food :(but I’ll definitely come back and tell everyone all about this! You haven’t lived life until you come here so scooch your boot and say hi to Nancy! You won’t regret it :)

My friend and I had the pesto chicken, the cuban, banh mi, and a plate of pepper poppers, french fries & mozzarella sticks. Mmmmmm when I took the first bite, it made me feel like heaven, it was so yummy! We left this place feeling very satisfied! You won’t regret it :)

It’s a bit of an unassuming stand, but really, the sandwiches are TODIEFOR. The Banh mi and Chicken pesto are my favorites, but all of them are amazing. Seriously, Nancy(the owner/chef) always grill-presses the buns so they get all toasty and crispy, and the cheese gets all melty and gooey — soooo good. I don’t know where you’re thinking of getting lunch, but I recommend coming here :)

Since the first day I started working at Lowe’s I’ve eaten Nancy’s food about 3 times a week. The food is awesome. But it’s not only about the food, it’s about the service. I always have a conversation with Nancy. She’s so sweet, and funny. It’s nice to have a friend, who also makes great food. So if ever you’re around, try her specials. Her salads are good too. I eat her chicken salad at least once a week.

As far as big box stores eateries are concerned, this just might be the best. I just happened to be leaving Lowes when I decided to give it a try. The owner is very friendly and she explained what were the favorites of her customers. I decided on the Cuban sandwich. Wow! Like no other Cuban I have ever had. Try going beyond the ham and pickles and add great tasting pulled pork to the mix. It was so melt in your mouth good. Really a nice take on a hot toasted classic! I had chips and an unsweetened green tea, which I truly appreciate any vendor having. The sandwich was of good size… you’ll only need one per person. It wasn’t until I was about to leave that I asked a customer about the daily special she had gotten. It was a «deconstructed» Shepherd’s pie. It looked really good. I wish this place good luck because I’ll be headed back for the Cuban!
