I love Tacos

I love Tacos was at the Eat the Street in Ewa Beach last night and sold us two sampler plates that had only one sample. The taco sampler was supposed to have beef, chicken and pork. We just received beef without being told they ran out of the others!
The tacos were as dry as the desert. They ran out of cilantro, salsa, onions and and anything good you can put on a taco. There was zero flavor.
A side of chips and «queso» came with the «sampler» and it was gross. It was literally milk with cheese in it half ass melted. No spices and no seasoning.
Each of these sad «samplers» cost $ 12 without any warning that they were out of everything good. I was very angry. I even mentioned to the cashier that this was not a sampler and she said, «oops sorry we are out of everything.» Ok? Why sell a poor quality product then and leave people disappointed?
I’m a chef so this is very disappointing to see. You should never settle for a sub par product and ruin your reputation just to make a few more dollars. That’s bad business.

Awesome tacos!!! Loved this place. I ate 6 tacos. Went scuba diving with the family and ran into this place as we were looking for the food trucks. Tasty tacos with fantastic salsa. Kids loved them too. Will definately be back. 5 stars all the way!!!

I stopped here after catching a movie at ward and the food was amazing. I got the fajitas, one chicken and one steak and they were amazing. The fajitas came with grilled peppers, onions, quest, beans and they had a salsa bar where you could add stuff like lettuce, sour cream, salsa etc. I mean I’m a young guy so I’ll eat just about anything but this food was really really good I would highly recommend!

I was very disappointed with this taco truck at the Kewalo Street Grindz event. I am a fan of lots of lettuce, cilantro, sour cream and guacamole on my tacos. The only toppings they had were onions and salsa. So my tacos were comprised of burnt tortillas, meat, onions, and salsa. The saddest part is that they failed to tell us that they were out of ALL the toppings before selling us the tacos at full price. That is not good business. Someone please open a taco truck — it’s a market that isn’t being met by the current vendors! The Aunty working the register was super friendly, so I guess that was one positive. other than that, very disappointing.

Not the best, nor the worst. Your standard Hawaiian-​Mex Mexicano grub! Hey we’re in Hawaii! It’s definitely good enough! I found this place located at the old Fisherman’s Wharf Restaurant area on Ala Moana Blvd.

After a quick meeting its lunch hour and I’m in the Ward area sweating up a Tijuana storm! I’m hungry and jonesing to try something «new» — so we head to the old Fisherman’s Wharf Restaurant area… now w/​about half dozen semi-​permanent food trucks setup throughout the week. Heck, if all else fails Kau Kau Grill would be there! This time around I notice a tent with the words…

HOLA! Oh Si, Si! I LOVE like no other — Si! I eat TACOS like no other — Si! I live in the beautiful state of HAWAII — Si! Hey, It’s a perfect fit! So, my co-​worker and I decide to give it a try… After a minute we decide on the:
— Carne «Single» Tacos ($ 7 tax included) — Carne meat w/​option of Jalapeño Crema. Served in Corn Tortillas. You get three. You have access to the self-​serve Salsa bar, where you may add cheese, greens, pico de gallo, and salsa.
— Carne Nachos ($ 8 tax included) — Nacho Chips covered with Carne meat, Pinto Beans, Jalapeño Crema, Queso. You have access to the self-​serve Salsa bar, where you may add cheese, greens, pico de gallo, and salsa.
My verdict? Well, first… customer service was a win with no pushiness and being genuine nice (my RL friends know how I loathe fake)! I like the self-​service Salsa bar… Even with the lady watching like a south of the border vulture. Quantity seemed on par for the price, I guess. The flavor was a tad bland IMHO (meat wise), but still good enough. Nothing a self-​service bar can’t fix! Hey, I did eat it all! Juice, Soda, Water at $ 1 each! Discreet BYOB too!

Southwest Spanish influenced w/​a Mexican twist! Licensed with Buffet Catering & Onsite Cooking. I paid cash, but I believe CC is accepted too. I think I would return (I believe open 3 – 4 times a week). I mean eating Hawaiian-​Mex under some coconut trees at the old wharf… Sign me up! I don’t exactly love «I Love Tacos Hawaii», but I do like it! Just make sure to «fix» it before you sit down… Adiós!
