Shrimp & BBQ

First visit and did takeout. Had the mix pasta. Excellent choice as the pasta was very tasty. The dish was so aromatic that when returning to the office my fellow coworkers had to stop by to see what I was eating. Menu was diverse from the pasta, to garlic shrimp to kalbi. Will definitely return to try other items.

Ate here once, and food is okay, nothing exciting. I tried the garlic shrimp plate — and it was about $ 12 with tax… Kinda pricey for the amount of food you get. Service was kinda slow too… Don’t think I’ll try here again!

This is a nice hole in the wall option if you’re looking for some shrimp and are too lazy to drive to the North Shore for a true shrimp truck experience. The garlic shrimp A1 meal came with garlic shrimp, rice, salad, and macaroni salad. I will call out that the shrimp was huge and cooked just right (not over or under cooked). I recommend the garlic shrimp over the lemon butter (we tried both). $ 12 for a box, not super cheap and nothing standout, but still worth checking out for convenience.

For years I’ve known of this place but I’ve never felt the urge to venture in until a friend recommended it to me on more than one occasion. My initial impression was that it had a welcoming atmosphere with the giant umbrellas and country music playing, lol!
I ordered the mix pasta ($ 12 tax included) and my friend got the garlic shrimp and kalbi combo ($ 14.50 tax included). The wait for the food was a bit long but with a buddy to chat with and understanding that there’s either one or two people running the place, the wait is completely bearable!.. Until you smell other people’s orders. Mmmmm
My mixed pasta was a nice generous serving with lots of lots of cheese! The sauce is their tomato sauce and cream sauce mixed together and what you get is a light creamy tomato sauce which is both satisfying and leaves you full without guilt. There were lots of chopped onions and tomatoes and shrimp!
My friends kalbi/​shrimp combo came with rice, Mac salad, and a tossed salad. Yummy!
Overall, the food was yummy! I loved it and I’m definitely coming back someday. The wait can be a bit long and the food is too pricey for me to come often (being that it’s located right next to Ala Moana shopping center and a big touristy trafficky area), hence the one star off.

I always passed by this place and I always thought it was a bit sketch looking so I never really tried it but as my friends and I were heading to Panda Cuisine, we actually had to walk through this place from the parking lot and once we caught a whiff of the food, we were mesmerized. It smelled so delicious and the garlic scent was just wonderful :3 I knew I had to come back and try this place!
I came back probably a week later with another friend as a late birthday outing for her. Everything on their menu looked so good especially the cream pasta and the garlic shrimp. It took me forever to figure out what to get… but I decided to get the cream pasta because the pasta had shrimp in it anyways lol the wait wasn’t too bad especially since there was tables to wait at and there were umbrellas on them too but that didn’t stop the heat from coming @___@ our food was brought out to us by the nice Japanese man.
It smelled delicious and it looked pretty good too :3 I’m normally not a fan of cream sauces because I get sick of it pretty fast xP but I didn’t mind this one: oo I was actually able to finish it properly lol I just wish the pasta was a little more flavorful? The sauce had a lot of flavor in it but I guess it didn’t transfer to the pasta nicely but I still had a good meal :) I can’t wait to come back and try their garlic shrimp!

This was my first time here. I always drive by it because I wasn’t sure where to park. Then today I felt like being adventurous and decided to get my shrimp! I realized that there’s a parking structure connected to it. It’s right after Samsung plaza. It’s $ 1 per hour. Very reasonable. So I walk up to the little shop and there’s a sign saying «sorry! be back at 5.» I was sad but I did see a side window open. I decided to yell into it and see if anyone was there LOL. A lady comes out and says she will take my order. I said «it’s okay if you have to go somewhere I’ll come back!» Long story short she took my order for a gochujang shrimp. I said I like it spicy. It wasn’t as spicy as I’d like but nonetheless it was delicious. You can pick small, medium, or large for your order size. She even added extra garlic for me.
I tried to give her tip but she refused to take it! I was like omg please take it. And she smiled and told me it’s okay. Seriously I felt bad cause she said she has things to do. But she was so sweet. She even told me that she would talk to the parking lot attending so I don’t have to pay for parking. She literally ran out with me to go talk to him. What a sweet lady! I’ve never experienced such great customer service in a long time. She went above and beyond. If I were rich I would make a donation so she can have a bigger restaurant. I’ll be back soon!

If you’re trying to find a place that sells awesome food on Keeaumoku, this place is for you! Their garlic shrimp, cream shrimp, Kalbi, cream and mixed pasta are AMAZING and the people that work there are really nice.
Let me tell you about their cream pasta. It’s CHEESY, CREAMY and VERY flavorful. I haven’t had great pasta until I came here.
I brought a handful of my classmates here and they’ve fallen in love with the place just as I did.

Nice hole-​in-​the-​wall place. One of the best garlic shrimp plates I’ve had, and I’ve had quite a few too. I also like their cream pasta. I come here often whenever I can, and you should too!

It is the best place to go for any kind of shrimp plates.

The food and service here was absolutely amazing! We ordered the fried rice, cream shrimp, garlic shrimp, and mixed pasta. Everything was so flavorful! Definitely coming back when I’m in Honolulu!

Tried the cream shrimp and hubby tried the kalbi plate. They were delicious! The lady here is very nice and can make your shrimp spicy like you want it.

Cute spot. Outdoor seating only. 5 tables. Tasty food with very friendly service ! We went for dinner and the weather was perfect. The only thing that was missing was some music and twinkle lights. We will definitely be back!

I LOVE this place!
Ever since I was introduced to the cream pasta, I could NOT get over this hole in the wall. I have been going to this establishment very frequently that the owner knows my order by heart.
FOOD:
Whatever food you order, you will NOT be disappointed. I have tried most of what has been offered on the menu and it is delicious. I cannot get over how I enjoy the side mac salad that is offered with the plate lunches. It is not your typical mac salad, it has a distinct flavorful taste that makes you want to eat more of it. The shrimp dishes here are very juicy, crisp, and packs a lot of flavor. From spicy to sweet, savory to crisp all dishes are worth it.
SERVICE:
Although this is a small place, the owners are EXTREMELY friendly. They are always serving with a smile and is always happy to see customers. Once your food is ready they actually show you the plate just to make sure that they made your order correct. I can’t stress enough how great their service is over here. They are pretty awesome!
OVERALL:
DEFINITELY STOP HERE FOR A BITE! You will not be disappointed! One down fall is that they are closed on Sundays… other than that, if you don’t want to drive all the way out to North Shore, just stop by here at Shrimp & BBQ. It’s that good.

Just happened to see this place as I walked by and decided to try it. I am so glad I did! I had the shrimp fried rice, and it was excellent. She gave me some of the garlic sauce from the garlic shrimp and some hot sauce to go with it.
I went back for dinner again tonight and had the garlic shrimp and Kalbi beef combo. It was also delicious.
The food was ready quickly and the service was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place!

This is my My go-​to spot for lunch whenever I’m craving north shore style shrimp with a twist! They have all types of Shrimp and of course your traditional bbq plates… My favorite is the buffalo shrimp. They also have a few pasta dishes as well.
On top of the Ono food, the staff is extremely friendly and polite and I’ve never had a bad experience there yet.
I recommend you call ahead since the wait time could be a little longer for certain items. Also, they’re closed on Sundays :(

Ordered the 14 $ special with 4 pieces of garlic shrimp and 1 slice of k-​beef with rice and the usual side of salad and Mac salad. Food was well made, but the portion size of shrimp does not compare to the shrimp trucks at north shore. Shrimps are larger here, but only 4 pieces vs the 8 – 12 pieces you get at north shore for 12 $. Plates average 7 – 14 bucks, which is pretty average anywhere. I was very full from the large portion of rice given with my 14 dollar special.
I would recommend this place and would eat here again. They have a variety of sauces/​flavors of shrimp that you don’t always see at other shrimp places. They also offer other BBQ options of chicken/​beef/​etc.
Very nice person running the counter, and is fenced in from the street to help with the awkwardness of eating so close to cars driving by. No indoor seating as it is just a counter you order from with a few large, round tables in the front.
The place was recommended by Unilocal, which lead me to try this place. Glad I tried it!

AMAZING PLATE LUNCHES! Owners are so kind I can barely stand it. Auntie always remembers me and asks about my roommates I always used to go there with (we used to go literally 3 – 5 times a week). She tells me she always saves the best piece of kalbi for me and let’s me mix it up with whatever kind of shrimp I want to pair with it for the combo plate. Totally reasonable, best 12 $ you’ll spend all week. My favorite is the buffalo shrimp and kalbi combo plate. Really awesome hole-​in-​the-​wall gem! 5 stars everyday of my life!

Heard about this place from my coworker. I wouldn’t have never known about this gem bc all I see from keeamoku st are the large red umbrellas. I got the seafood pasta the first time and been thinking about it ever since. I brought the hubby the second time and he got the kalbi and garlic shrimp combo. He can’t wait to go back! Plates had nice presentation and tasted as good as it looked. DEFINATELY coming back!

I love love love this place. Best shrimp on the island. It used to be Giovannis for me, until my recent trip there where I was very disappointed. The ladies that work here are very sweet, their portions are generous, shrimp is always juicy. I especially like the original garlic and sweet and spicy. Prices are very decent too. I highly recommend.
