Ok so this place used to be S&T Thai it’s now Malee Thai restaurant. S&T was great! I ordered take out every time I worked nearby. Since the new owners took over its terrible! The papaya salad has zero flavor and is super watery. I always ask for Laos style spicy which seems to bother them for some reason. The girls that work there are really rude! I MISS S&T !!!

I used to get takeout from here a lot when it was S&T. I called in to place my order the other day and they informed me that they have a new owner. Hmm. I’ll try it. Since it’s a new owner, new cook and all that, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they are working out the kinks. Green Papaya Salad. Veggies were definitely fresh but I’d never thought that papaya salad could be bland. With all the garlic, lime, chili, and fish sauce that supposed to go into papaya salad, bland should not be possible. Spring rolls. Pretty much standard. No complaints. Yellow curry with seafood had a lot of seafood(shrimp, fish, ika) but it was watered down. The potatoes and carrots were still hard. Sticky rice. Standard.

It is now Malee Thai. Very americanized. My 10yr old liked the ginger chicken but nothin special. The pineapple curry with shrimp was bland but ok. More smashed pineapple than anything. The curry was also watered down. The sticky rice was in a ziplock bag within a Thai container.

Guys this is not S&T Thai anymore it’s taken up by different owners and different chef. I got red curry today it was the worse red curry I ever had. How can a Thai chef screw up red curry? It was awful. The gravy was like water literally. Will never go back… S&T Thai was so good .the old chef was excellent. New one is no where close, will never go here again

My all time favorite Thai restaurant! You can’t go wrong here. But I just can’t resist their pad Thai, green curry, fried chicken, and evil jungle prince FRIEDRICE. I know, right. How great does that sound??? I work close by and after introducing my co-workers to s&t Thai, it quickly became a regular stop on lunch, and sometimes dinner, runs. One night, we decided to stop by for some dinner and were struck with great sadness as we read a sign posted on their doors saying that they were planning on closing their business. So, in honor of their many years of business and their making our tummys very happy and very large, we tried as hard as we could to eat there everyday until closing. They will be greatly missed and it is with such sadness that we have to find a new restaurant to satisfy our demanding appetites.

Decided to give this place a try after running some errands at Walmart. Small restaurant across the street from Walmart. Next door to Chutney. On Keeaumoku. Got the pad si ew and evil jungle prince curry. Both were good. The pad si ew was flavorful and not as oily as we’ve had at other Thai restaurants. The curry had a small amount of heat — not over powering which was nice but I was hoping for a bit more kick. Service was fast and very friendly. They are changing owners at the end of the month(August 30). We’ll see how that affects the food.

I came here the other night with a large group. I thought that the hostess did pretty well with getting us seated, taking our orders, and getting the food out without too much wait. She was pretty much a one-woman show. It would have been a problem if people in the group were needy. Based on the reviews, I can tell that they are trying to improve. We had real utensils aside from the disposable chopsticks and we had real plates and bowls, which was a plus. The servings were good enough and it is definitely an affordable place. Parking was easy to get because they’ll validate if you park in the Samsung plaza. We ordered tom yong soup, green curry, evil jungle prince curry, egg rolls, pad thai, and some thai iced tea. To be honest, it just wasn’t that great. I think a lot of people would be satisfied but I’ve been to quite a few Thai places and this one didn’t hit the spot for me. I still ate as much as I could and saved the rest of the next day.

Thanks again Unilocal. This place is not far from the Ala Moana center and opposite Walmart, very handy. We really enjoyed our meal and the portions were huge. We have been to Thailand and eaten our fair share of Thai restaurant meals and this place was authentic tasting. To start we asked for chicken fresh spring rolls, they don’t usually do chicken but were more than happy to oblige Miss Muffin. She also had a huge serve of Thai friend rice and enjoyed it. We had my favorite, chicken laab and a beef dish which we can’t recall. It was good though.

Even though they changed their business model, still great for lunch. Dinner not so much. Love their soup and their pineapple fried rice and green papaya salad. But now it is counter service and sit down and served. Food very good, portions seem about the same. Will miss during my work hours.

Came here twice during our one week stay and I was quite surprised by the food here – being that I came here once before during our last trip. However, I don’t remember what we ordered the first time so I didn’t write a review until now. First visit was a dine-in with a party of 5 people. We ordered the following items: 1) Crab papaya salad, Thai medium spicy — I give it 5 stars because everyone in our group really liked it 2) Tom Yum Chicken — I didn’t taste it, but my husband and son said they would give it 3 stars 3) Basil chicken — everyone liked this one as well so 5 stars 4) Kee Mao chicken — noodle was a little on the sour side which is not normal for pad kee mao so I’d have to say it’s a 2.5 5) Lad Na chicken — I didn’t try this one either, but judging by the way no one else in our group actually touched it much, I’d say it’s a 3 stars as well 6) Evil Jungle Fried Rice Seafood — this one was a 3.5, because the flavor wasn’t as authentic as I’d expected. It tastes like a regular fried rice so I was looking for the«evil»(meaning super spicy with a hint of basil flavor)… Overall, I’d have to say that we all enjoyed the papaya salad and basil chicken very much. I actually went to order just the papaya salad on my take out trip because I liked it that much. The people who own the place are very friendly. Would I come back again next time? Most definitely, for their papaya salad & basil chicken! Plus, it’s very convenient for us to walk here from our 2nd home, which is only 1 block away. One thing I should mention, everything comes out in a take out box even if you’re dining in so it’s not really a fine dining experience, if that’s what you’re looking for.

My friends and I were indecisive on what we wanted for lunch. However, we spotted this place around the corner from where we worked and decided to try it. I had my first Mussaman Curry with chicken in the not so spicy flavor for I couldn’t stand the heat of any hot spicy food. I was incredibly pleased with the flavor. On top of the not so expensive price, this little gem came with excellent customer service. The lady multitask-ed as she helped with the cash register and at the same time being the server and was super friendly. The restaurant wasn’t all that big but it sure was a nice little cozy spot on Keeaumoku. Parking may be a little challenging though, but is worth a try. Perfect for a quick pick up and go. Note for to go orders: Call in your order 20 minutes before pick up and you’re golden.

What happened to this place. I usually come here about once a month and there seems to be a change in management. No longer is my order taken at the table but must be requested at the desk, water is self-serve, and all the food was served on party plates with the plastic utensils to go with it. It really takes the enjoyment out of eating at a restaurant being served like this. As for the food, the quality is mostly the same with the exception if the summer roll sauce. It’s quite plain now and is so-so. I can’t recommend coming here again for the dining experience, it feels cheap and a real fall from grace.

Super Thai food, one of the best we’ve tried. Pricing was amazingly cheap for top quality. Large proportions too, highly recommend and will return. They were able to customize my chicken pad Thai with no bean sprouts. No problem! Clean inside also for an Asian restaurant. If only we could’ve taken the takeaway option for the plane ride home!

I enjoy eating Thai food, sad part is I don’t eat at Thai places very often! BOOOOOO! Usually when my friends and I go out to eat it tends to be either Japanese or Korean food. Ha-ha. Finally got my besties to get some Thai with meeee :) The service was alright, there was only one waitress on the floor and a decent amount of customers. So I did not blame her for being slow at taking our order and stuff. The food came out very timely, so that made us all very happy cause we were pretty hungry when we got here. – Totally forgot to take pictures of the curry :(– [[ YELLOWCURRY ]] [[ STICKYRICE ]] I haven’t been to many Thai restaurants so its really hard for me to compare, but I think the prices here are good and so are the portions. The taste of the food was good, definitely satisfied my Thai craving.

The most delicious Thai food EVER! I normally get the panaang curry-spicy and when I’m feeling really greedy(aka all the time), I get the Thai style fried rice with shrimp to double the deliciousness. My only negative comment is the entrees do not come with rice, it costs 2 – 4 bucks extra depending on why style you prefer. Odd in my option but I overlook it since the food is so damn tasty and the staff is always kind and conversational.

1. Value: Great food, portions, and service at a great price! 2. Food: $ 8.95 gets you a well-sized pad thai that doesn’t skimp on ingredients and skips the ketchup like some places out there — well done! That same price also gets you the Evil Jungle Price curry — which I recommend — it can be spicy for some folks, but it’s full of mixed vegetables and your choice of meat(we had beef, which worked well). It also tastes great on sticky rice(white and brown rice available instead). The Thai iced tea(really an Asian milk tea without pearls for the Chinese folks out there) worked well in keeping the heat down. 3. Service: About as complete and polite as can be. 4. Atmosphere: Think hole-in-the-wall that’s been nicely repainted and kept clean. Could use more decorations, but hey, they seem to keep their money in the food and not in the décor at this place. Parking in the complex can involve a wait; ensure you give your parking stub to the wait staff for 1-hour validation. 5. Verdict: Recommended for the food quality and food portions at a great price in a touristy area, just behind Ala Moana Center!

this place makes the best curry I’ve ever had in my life and the spiciest too! Last time I went I had the evil jungle prince curry which includes a lot of veggies and a choice of meat. I had ask for spicy, thinking it wasn’t going to be hot(I have a high tolerance for spicy) but OMG I began sweating after the second bite of curry!!! It was a slightly sweet but very spicy flavor and the veggies were sooo good! It was a painful deliciousness, I was very glad I ordered coffee to keep my tongue from burning off lol! Which I totally enjoyed lol! The only reason I deducted a star is because I particular didn’t enjoy the coffee. I’m a bit of a coffee snob and I take a little personally when the coffee doesn’t taste good lol, and that was the only reason for a deduction. But my coworker told me their Thai tea was very delicious, something I need to try next time :) If you like spicy food this is definitely the place to go, but you can also make it not spicy for those with low tolerance. The food is good and the lady there is really nice. Good customer service and pretty clean :) Can’t wait to go again for my spicy curry fix!!!

Since parking in this area is bad, we decided to do a take-out order with our Hot Deals Hawaii voucher. A lot of people also seemed to be doing take-out! We ordered a feast for two: Pad see ew with shrimp — $ 9.95 Spring rolls — $ 5.95 Thai Crispy Fried Chicken — $ 8.95 Yellow Curry — $ 8.95 forgot to take a picture =( The best thing, sadly was the spring rolls. It’s awesome wrapped with mint leaves and lettuce! The pad see ew was dry with NO spice whatsoever; the yellow curry was also mediocre and also NO spice; the fried chicken were any-kine pieces of chicken(bones, cartilage, skin, whatever) deep fried(I think there were more bones, cartilage, and skin than there was meat). Pretty cheap Thai food but I think I’ll try other dishes next time =P And tell them to turn up the spicyness!!!

We got one of those hotdeal or groupons to use for this hole in the wall right across from Walmart Keeamoku, and haven’t ever noticed this restaurant until we looked for it. Because the certificate was for $ 36, we bought 4 items since most of it was about $ 8.50 — $ 9. We thought they would have small servings like other Thai restaurants, but they give a pretty good amount that I had to roll myself out of the door. The cook is a sweet tooth though because all of our food was on the much sweeter side: Tom Yum Soup — 3 stars — this soup had a lot of different vegetables in it, but tasted more like sweet sour soup since the sweetness and the sourness was a bit strong. There also was a nicely tainted spiciness to it even ordered as mild. It was pretty good except for the strong sweet and sour flavor. Stuffed Chicken Wing — 3 stars — 3 pieces served with sweet chili sauce. The blend was pretty good, but a little gamey taste to it and not as crispy as some other restaurants I ate at. However, this is one of the few restaurants that sell this dish. Evil Jungle Prince Curry — 3 stars — We ordered pork with it, and it was flavorfully sweet with a spiciness that made us sweat. Eggplant stir fry — 3 stars — if they take the chili pepper out, I think the kids would like it because it was more like caramelized eggplant with bulgolgi. On the sweet teriyaki side. Service — 3 stars — there was only one waitress/cashier working. She was very friendly and personable, and when we mentioned we thought this restaurant opened up, she said they were there for 6 years. However, we had to ask for serving spoons for our dishes and when she did, she only gave us one to use for both our dishes. I think those with diabetes need to be careful when eating at this restaurant because all of the dishes were really sweet but very flavorful which would be great for kids if the chili pepper is omitted. A reasonable restaurant to eat at, with a pretty good serving that could feed two people.
