Our black lab was miserable. Scratching every 5min, red eyes, red ears, discharge, bad odor. We tried different dry foods with no luck. Had him on 50mg of hydroxyzine daily which did nothing for him. That’s a hefty dose! The vet was recommending allergy testing and shots at a starting price of $ 780 in month 1. No thanks! Raw food was our last resort and Gary was completely concerned and helpful over the phone. Helped me figure out how to get started and what to do. FedEx delivers straight to our home. It’s been over 2 months and our dog is 90% better. He still scratches at times, but we’re positive it’s due to environmental allergies such as dust mites and pollen. His quality of life is drastically better and his demeanor is much happier. His eyes, ears, and coat look great and he’s no longer miserable and uncomfortable. Don’t need medications anymore either! I recommend trying Raw Dog Hawaii if your dog is suffering from allergies. They have excellent products and make raw eating easy on the owners. Excellent company, products, and service!

I have 2 Golden Retrievers who are very picky eaters. I guess their natural instincts tell them that no matter how good the quality, dry kibble just doesn’t compare to the raw food they were intended to eat. They get bored eating the dry food everyday even when we swap brands and flavors so we decided to order some raw food for them to change it up a bit. We received our order of Pack Leader Organic Chicken Blend, Grass-​fed sliced beef liver, and Grass-​fed Beef Back Ribs and they absolutely love it. I also ordered the Deer Antler Chew which came in 2 smaller pieces rather than 1 big piece so I emailed Raw Dog Hawaii and Dakota responded in a very timely manner apologizing about the issue and made sure I got the correct size I had ordered. Outstanding customer service!!! :)

This is my first Unilocal review, which is strange because I use Unilocal very often and so appreciate the reviews of all those who share.
I would like to acknowledge Gary for his amazing dedication, knowledge, compassion and generosity. I have a 13 year old West Highland White Terrier, who has had off and on skin issues since he was about 5 years old. However, it has only been fairly recently that I have not had luck with the antibiotics that the vet has prescribed and had worked in the past.
The latest skin problems started last November 2014. He would not stop chewing and itching himself, his skin went from normal pink, to scab, to open wound, to gray to black. I could truly write a book on all the many ways that I have tried to resolve his skin issues, but I feel now that I have come to a good place where my dog is in a much better state.
After 3 rounds of back to back antibiotics from my regular vet, I realized that I needed to follow my own personal beliefs and try something more natural. I did try animal communicators, energy workers, Reiki, supplements, all kinds of shampoo concoctions and then found Dr. Karen Becker on the internet, I liked her entire approach and what she said about Raw Food for dogs really resonated with me, I even bought her book on how to make it myself! It was totally overwhelming and then luckily, I found Raw Dog Hawaii food at Kokua market. I also contacted Gary with many questions, he was so helpful and reassuring as I was really at my wits end with trying to help my dog.
My Westie has been eating Raw Dog Hawaii for 13 weeks now (I do supplement with probiotics, enzymes and Omega’s as I feel it takes time to get his gut back to wholeness after so many antibiotics and steriods). His hair has grown back in and is healing back to pink again. Also I give him a raw bone each night, he loves them and his teeth have never looked better, shiny and white! Additionally, I have found a shampoo that has helped significantly.
Lastly I want to thank Ashley G. who wrote about her issues with her dog and also so kindly called me and personally shared her dogs story with me.
I would highly recommend this food for any dog and would suggest starting them on it as soon as possible!

Raw Dog Hawaii is dog food is absolutely amazing! They have transformed our dogs lives like no other. Once you understand the full process of how kibble is made, you will never want to look back again. Dogs are descendants of wolves. Wolves are carnivores! Dogs bodies are not designed to break down grains and starches. After a month being on Raw Dog Hawaii’s food, there was no more shedding, Bad breath or smell to the poop. The most important thing I would like to add is our chocolate labs allergies were completely gone within a month on the food. The employees are absolutely amazing as well. We have a convenient auto ship to our front doorstep the first of every month for food. I couldn’t be happier with the service we received from this company! They are life-​changing!

It’s been a few months of feeding both our maltese raw dog and after a bit of troubles I have to update my review.
As my last review shows, when we began feeding Napoleon (and Leo) the chicken blend of Raw Dog we saw immediate improvements in Napoleon’s skin issues. My husband and I were elated! Much to our dismay, a few weeks into the food (chicken blend) Napoleon’s skin issues came back with a vengeance. In complete dismay I called up Gary, the owner of a raw dog and together with trial and error he helped to brainstorm the problem and find a solution. Gary shared much time, expertise and genuine concern for Napoleon’s condition and did everything he could to try to find a remedy. Through knowledge and research Gary thought the bacteria, or mites, Napoleon was harboring were in fact starving, but trying for one last time to stay alive, causing Napoleon’s skin to flare up. Gary kindly brought me several different meats to try (including tripe, which has probiotics and would help Napoleon’s immune system). During these few weeks of problem solving Napoleon all of a sudden decided to get picky and he didn’t want to eat the richer meats without veggies! (The beef and tripe). Thankfully Gary was beyond understanding and patient and provided venison without any added veggies and after eating that for 9 days his skin dramatically healed. During this time I also had a trip to go on and Gary generously kept in touch with Napoleon’s caregiver to make sure his skin was progressing while I was away. It took about 3 weeks of trial and error but, as Gary had predicted, the mites that were trying to have one last hoorah vanished from Napoleon and two months later, he hasn’t had any issues. His fur has grown back in beautifully and WAY softer and shinier than it ever was. More importantly he is such a happy, healthy pup with a different, sweeter demeanor. My husband and I often comment how much he has changed for the better and how he truly gets cuter and more lovey/​cuddlier every day. We are still struggling with mucky/​yeasty ears every so often and him licking his paws but not as much. In the past few days I switched him to the beef + veggie blend in hopes that would help the remaining issues, and he loves the beef now! We are just beyond, BEYOND thankful Gary decided to make his passion a business and truly blessed to have found him and for his knowledge and generosity. Can’t say enough good things about Raw Dog food, worth every single penny.

Disappointed with delivery service and customer service that followed. Owner was rude to my girlfriend who was trying to be very understanding of the circumstances.
Tip for the owner. We are sorry that things
happen how they happened. But your running a business. Bring rude to your customers isn’t the right way to run one. We will take our business somewhere else.

Extremely disappointed with the customer service we just received. After using their dog food for about 3 – 4 months we went to the farmers market to get our supply of food. On that morning we were told that they were already out of the chicken backs that we always get but we can have then delivered on Wednesday. We paid for our food, she told us that at our deliver would be made around 1pm.
It’s Wednesday and we have NO dog food. We called around 4pm, 3 HOURS LATER THAN SCHEDULED DELIVERY, to see where the food was and told that the food would be delivered in 40 minutes. We received a phone call 40 minutes later saying that the driver had been in a car accident and won’t be making any more deliveries. That wasn’t an option for us considering we had enough food to last until Wednesday. We asked where we could meet the driver to pick up our food, we were willing to drive to pearl city where his accident was to pick up food for our dog.
They said they would call us back, and they did.
The driver called me back and in a nutshell told me about his 60mph accident, and how he had no idea what was happening to his vehicle so he didn’t know if we would be able to get the food. I was very understanding that accidents happen, and was able to be flexible with an alternative to getting my food by the end of the day. He then told me that if I was not able to wait until tomorrow for my dogs food, that he would rather not have our business and would refer us to other vendors. I was in complete shock! That a company that caters to dogs would tell me that MY DOG WOULD HAVE TO GO WITHOUT FOOD. He said he would call me back when he knew what was happening with his vehicle and hung up. At 645p a delivery vehicle came to our home and dropped the food and left.
All they needed to do was call and tell us that the vehicle was in an accident and when the food would be delivered.

Our dog Buster loves, I mean, LOVES eating now thanks to his raw food diet from Raw Dog Hawaii. It’s more expensive than the high end processed dog food but definitely worth it. His allergies and rashes are all gone and he has tons of energy, like a pup. He used to huff spand sigh as he ate his food before but now he can’t wait to dive into his bowl. Buster loves Raw Dog Hawaii!

I’ve just began using raw dog food from Raw Dog Hawaii. So far I’ve had a pleasant experience with Raw Dog Hawaii. There was a misunderstanding with the ordering process (which was my fault), however, Gary was VERY kind and understanding and gave me a «discounted» price. Also, Gary was very nice to spend time to educate me about raw dog food. Excellent customer service!!!
For the past 10 years, ever since I’ve had my bichon I’ve been searching for the right food to help stop her scratching, licking and bitting of her fur. We have tried everything from different food (no wheat, flour, corn, etc), medicine, shampoos, etc… and her condition gets better (for a little while), then goes back to being the same. We have spent hundreds of dollars at the vet… will no answers! We have adopted another dog, a Pug and she also seems to be scratching (drawing blood) with ear «infections». It’s frustrating! So finally, we have decided to try raw dog food from Raw Dog Hawaii. So far, so good. It’s only been day 3, but my dogs seem to love it! I’ll be writing updates on my dogs progress…

Wow, I can’t believe it took me so long to get my dogs on this amazing diet given the big improvements I’ve seen in less than a week. My two labs, ages 3 and 6, have been healthy, but the older one has had chronic yeasty, stinky ears all of his life. I just attributed that to his running through sprinklers and swimming and always having wet ears. So I resigned myself to twice weekly ear cleaning. Then recently, both of them started scratching and licking a lot, I mean, like constantly! It drove me crazy, and I’m sure it was no fun for them. I initially thought that they had fleas, so we did the whole bathing with flea shampoo and giving them a dose of Frontline. Well, that didn’t change anything. Then it dawned on me that maybe they had a food allergy. However, they had been on the same what I thought was a high end «natural holistic» dog food for years and it cost a fortune.
My friend and I were talking and comparing our dogs’ issues. She had mentioned a guy that made a raw diet for dogs on Oahu and that he sells it at the farmers markets. I checked out his website and used the calculator to check amount and cost of food. OMG, it came out to $ 450 a month! Okay, so that almost scared me off, almost… but I’m persistent, so I called Gary and he very patiently explained that an active dog was one that ran the equivalent of a daily marathon. Okay, whew, that wouldn’t be any dog. He explained the entire process from food making, sourcing, and health benefits. BTW, the cost is WAY LESS than what that calculator came up with. Don’t let it scare you. Just call Gary. I was sold. I placed by first order a week ago. The dogs LOVE their food! They are hardly scratching or licking anymore, and the head shaking due to ear problems have decreased in just one week. My dogs will definitely be on this diet their entire life. And it’s so easy. Thanks Gary for caring enough about dogs to do this!

Really happy to have run into Gary at a recent farmers market! Chip has been a super picky eater and we have tried everything; including cooking everything from scratch. I have always wanted to feed a raw food diet but it seemed impossible to find a good clean source of raw foods. Now thanks to Gary and his committed team, we can now feed the best kind of diet to our boy. Chip devours this food and is right under foot when I’m preparing it. He has never done this and was not motivated by food until now.

My dog has food allergies to every processed dog food I have fed her including the expensive, natural ones. For the past 4 years my husband and I have been cooking for our 50 pound dog so you could only imagine how time consuming that is! We started feeding Pearl, a ten year old standard poodle, the raw dog food 5 months ago and she has not had any allergic reactions and she devours it! Not only is this a superior product to nourish your pet, they deliver!!! What more could you ask for?

My dog Wednesday is 10. I found her in the road with a broken back when she was a year and half old. Her history is not pretty. For the past 9 years we have experimented with home cooked recipes, supposed high quality processed foods, etc. She has had hot spots, the worst GAS you could ever imagine, weight fluctuations, worsening arthritis, and now has mast cell cancer. She has been on Raw Dog for 2 ½ months now and let me tell you! Cancer is regressing, she sheds less, no more hot spots, she is lean, and her energy and spirits are so high she seems like a 2 year old. We have cut her arthritis meds in half and my Vet said she couldn’t find the mass (presumed to be cancer) on her spleen anymore. AND BEST OF ALL — NO MORE HOT BOXING — INHUMANE — UNACCEPTABLE FARTING!

I have 2 Shih Tzu’s (6 & 8 yrs old), one of which has suffered from allergies for many years and endured multiple rounds of antibiotics, anti fungal and steroid medications. After just a few weeks on Raw Dog Hawaii, my dogs have more energy, lost the extra weight they were carrying and most important, my allergy dog is now happy, steroid free, with pink skin and light pink ears… not the bright red hot ears he’s had forever!!!

My dog, Striker, has been on raw food from Raw Dog Hawaii for a month. He is an amazing 9 year old Border Collie. I fed him really good quality food but the shedding was out of control, his coat was dull, and he was licking and chewing his paws until they bled. I cannot believe the change. Within 2 weeks, his coat was shinier, he was chewing his paws less, and his shedding had lessened. After a month, he stopped licking his paws completely and he is filled with energy. He loves it and does not beg for food in between meals. So this is a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Raw Dog Hawaii — thanks for what you do!

I have decided to start my 16 year old dachshund Ollie on a raw diet, and am so grateful that Raw Dog is here to help me out. I switched Ollie from the top of the line natural canned food and the transition has been easy. He used to be so unexcited about his food, but now he reminds me just when feeding time is! It’s easy, not messy and a very convenient way to feed raw. A dachshund breeder back home in Texas swears by raw. When she was feeding her dogs a traditional commercial dog food diet she would lose on average 10% of her puppies for various reasons, mainly due to failure to thrive. Found this website through Unilocal as searching for pet stores (in case I miss any). Tried out the Pack Leader pack and raw meaty bones. My guys totally love it! I’ve been looking for steady supply of raw meaty bones in Hawaii with not much luck (except Primal). Raw Dog Hawaii carries raw meaty bones all the time. I’m sure my dogs will be very happy about this arrangement :)
