I was interested in going to a locally owned pet store for my dog items. I found Calvin and Susie store and it was a very interesting experience. They carry high quality dog food and the dog toys were unique with a sense of humor. The staff was very friendly. All the dog food is made in the USA and the selection of offerings were diverse. I bought a few of the bakery items, and they were a big hit with my dog. I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. The layout of the store was well designed and clean. Parking was convenient. I highly recommend Calvin and Susie if you are shopping for dog care items.

The breeder I got our puppy from recommended this place. We tried a new dog food but come to find out our puppy is allergic to grain which is in the food so she got itchy each time we fed it to her so I was able to bring it back and they refunded me no problem and even had some suggestions on how to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Love it.

Calvin&Susie’s is the best! Our golden retrievers love going there to pick out new leashes and toys! They always get a bag of regional red and six fish by Orijen. It’s nice to have a pet store that is not a big box retailer and the staff knows you by name and they come out from behind the counter and play with the dogs! The staff is helpful every time we visit and the dogs love the little treats they get. We go once a month and parking is easy breezy. See ya soon!

We go to Calvin & Susie for all our leads, collars, treats and dog food. All the workers are helpful and knowledgeable about products they carry. They also give our 3 Poms treats and samples, we love this store.

So many cute, quirky things in here! They mostly have products for dogs but they do have a small selection of cat and small pet items as well. There is a nice mix of mainland and local brands. They have some Ruff Wear harnesses, which I was just reading about online. They also have a lot of cool dog treats, including antlers! The service was attentive and friendly and the store was clean. This is great place to look for gift ideas for your dog-​loving friends!

Me and My dog LOVE Calvin and Susie! The workers always give her tons of treats! And it’s healthy and good quality items! They are extremely knowledgable about many products and have a wonderful attitude! We come here almost every week to pick up treats for my dog!

The staff definitely gets five stars. They are always so attentive and warm.
Overall experience is a perfect two stars: Meh. I’ve experienced better.
The store is small but has everything a discerning dog owner could need. They carry many adorable, unique, and quality leashes, harnesses, beds, and even poopie bags. I buy frozen green tripe from them on a regular basis, and they carry our dog food, Taste of the Wild but I buy that at a store that is more convenient and less expensive. It does get a little crowded on the weekends and I’m not a fan of the parking lot.
On certain Sundays they host a dental clinic, which we tried today. They did a great job at cleaning but weren’t capable of completing the task because my dog was getting too anxious. Well as all us dog lovers know, interactions between people and dogs are dynamic, and dogs are very sensitive to human emotion/​state of being. Dogs feel and react when you’re rushing, when you’re more concerned with sticking to the schedule (next time they should ask if I’d be willing to pay another $ 155 for 10 minutes) than being comprehensive. And if you can’t accomplish the task by yourself perhaps enlist the owner. Works for my dog every time. hmm maybe not if I’m not in a hurry.

I usually order this on Amazon– couldn’t find it before I went here– I use Stella Chewy Food mixer w/​their kibble, it’s healthy & they live if thankful I found a place on the island that carries Stella & Chewy

Such good customer service here :) every time I bring my mini dachshund here she barks at the staff, and they always just laugh call her cute and give her treats lol and it always makes me feel better since I feel embarrassed whenever my dog barks at someone… But they always makr me feel welcome here, I will continue coming here for their delicious doggy treats just because of their excellent customer service

This review is to warn you not to use K 9 Dental Service that cleans dogs teeth at the store.
We took in our Havanese for a teeth cleaning, and the dentist brought him back out to us with one tooth missing, and two loose teeth, which fell out the following week.
I called Calvin and Susie after this happened, and they did not seem to care at all.
Now our dog has three missing teeth! I’ll never again shop at Calvin and Susie because of their indifference and lack of concern.

At Calvin and Susie you don’t need to worry about where items come from or how they were made. Staff are super friendly and welcome both you and your dog to take your time and look around.
Whether you are treating your own pet or looking for a gift for someone else, head to Calvin and Susie for quality items and great customer service. They even keep a record of owner and pet for easy returns and have a pet food frequent buyer club.

It’s hard to go to another pet store after coming to Calvin & Susie. The first time I came was because Kage, my Klee Kai needed new food. He’s a picky eater and the generic brand from Walmart wasn’t cutting it. When I mentioned I was looking for a new brand of food, the assistant that was there was so helpful and kind. She asked many appropriate questions to better narrow down the choices. By the time I left the store, I had a ton of free samples, a better brush and lots of chewing bones. The assistant was helpful and incredibly nice. Kage liked a lot of flavors and we will definitely coming back to buy the flavors once he is done with them.
Every time we come, we are greeted and Kage is well loved.

What an awesome pet store! I happened to come across this store while I was visiting the newly moved Bamboo Sky which is nearby. Calvin & Susie is located in Kilohana Square at the beginning of Kapahulu. There was ample parking when I went (behind the store in the dedicated parking lot).
This store has such a great selection of unique items, unlike the big brand pet stores. They have dog food of all kinds, and all kinds of treats including organic and their own line of baked treats.
They have dog boots, leashes, harness, pet clothes, toys, etc. Very friendly service as well. I wish I had more time to spend in the store, but I was a little rushed because I had to make it to work. I would love to come back, and I wish they had a location closer to central Oahu/​the west side.

Went back and received the great service that everyone has been helping about. I am glad I gave this place a second chance. Associate assisted us in finding just what we needed and then some. They were very knowledgeable about their products.

Our dog absolutely loves this place! He gets excited the moment we walk in and will go straight to his favorite section.
We have purchased numerous toys and treats from here in the past, but we mainly come here to purchase Deer Antlers.
We adopted an American Pit Bull Terrier (mix) several years ago, and noticed that he likes to chew a lot. Normal toys don’t last long enough, so purchasing the Jumbo Deer Antlers has been our best investment to keep our dog happy and occupied. The antler normally last for about several weeks to a month, so let’s just say we come here pretty often.
Tip: The dark colored antlers last longer than the lighter ones. We have purchased both colored antlers in the past and noticed the difference.

This is my «go to» store for high quality, made in USA food & treats for my dog. We normally buy Primal brand freeze dried formula food & my little Yorkshire terrier, Bailey, loves their food, treats and toys. We’ve also purchased their dog shampoos, conditioners, ear cleaners, brushes and everything is of high quality. The sales staff are very friendly & offer treats to my dog, which he’s happy to receive.

I’ve passed this store so many times and never went in. I’m so glad I finally went it! Customer service was incredible. The two ladies working helped me pick out food for my furry friend. I also picked up some treats and toys. I could tell that lots of thought and care went into selecting all the items in this store. I’m very happy to find this cute boutique store for dogs and cats nestled in Kapahulu.
Great prices all around– shop at this local brick and mortar school and help

Calvin & Susie is a small pet boutique located in Kilohana Square on Kapahulu. There’s a small parking lot or street parking. They carry cat and dog supplies but mostly dog food and accesories. Not to worry, nothing from here is made in China. Everything is made from USA or Canada. The ladies here are so helpful and genuinely care what you’re feeding your pet. They also create files for your pet and have a stamp card when you buy food. I love there organized system! I can’t wait to go back.

After my experience last night, I decided to write a review.
I’ve been a customer here off and on for a while. Super cute pet boutique specialising more in doggy supplies/​food (though they have many things for your feline friends and other furry pals.)
I used to buy my pup Wellness small bites from another shop, but they had stopped stocking it so I ventured to Calvin & Susie,
since they were in my neighbourhood.
Located in Kilohana square, once you get on Kapahulu ave. driving towards Waikiki beach, it’s the first right turn, then left into a complex. Parking is tight but ample.
The boutique itself is really cute and intimate: they’ve got toys, leashes, cleaning supplies, outfits and food (pretty much all organic, «real» food.) I’ve read up on Acana and that food has since replaced Wellness’ small bites. They are a little more expensive (not by much: a 15 lb bag of Acana is $ 47.xx) they have a stamp card and everything for you.
What really sold me on this place, other than the friendly guy who is usually working when I’m there is that they stayed 15 mins past closing time so that I could get dog food!
It was July 3^rd and I had gotten off of work late and my pup only had like 2 cups of food max to last. I called Calvin & Susie and al though they were closed, they said since it’ll be July 4^th tomorrow and I needed food, they’d wait for me :) they didn’t look or sound at all annoyed, just concerned that I may not last with 2 cups of food.
I totally don’t mind paying a few extra bucks when people go above and beyond – Love this boutique!

Yesterday I started my Christmas shopping, and 1^st on my list was my buddy — Makana! I was told from my doggie park friends about this pet store called — Calvin & Susie in Kapahulu. The cute little pet store is located just next door from the Territorial Savings Bank (Kapahulu Branch).
As I walked in, the two ladies instantly greeted me right away.
Why was I here at Calvin & Susie’s you say? Well, I was basically here to get this special ball.
My boy Makana is just ‘KRAZEEEEEE” about balls!
What’s so special about this ball? This particular ball has a light in it, so when we go to the park in the evenings, you can turn on the light in the ball so Makana can see where I am throwing it.
Also, it’s a good way to find your ball in the dark… at $ 14.00 for this particular ball, you definitely do not want to lose it… it gets very expensive when you lose your toys. They didn’t have this particular ball on their shelf, but when I asked them, one of the nice ladies dug though her new delivery stock, and opened up her boxes to retrieve on for me. They have an array of colors — red, green, disco (multi-​colored), & blue. I ended up picking the blue…
This little pet store sells all kinds of things besides toys… they sell food, dishes, collars, leashes, greeting cards, doggie goggles, clothes, and many other things…
There is free parking in the back of the store. Stop by and check this place out! Support your local business!
