Pho 777

The Phở I had was disgusting!
And I felt ripped off by the portions that we got.
The owner’s children were also playing Power Rangers! Lol!
Screaming Hiyaaaaaa!!! Running all over the place and jumping on chairs and tables…
Gonna take a miricle to hit a jackpot Pho777 before you go bankrupt

The name and owners have changed and the phở is better but while the owner is very friendly sometimes he gets overwhelmed. He forgets things like refilling water or putting water on the table all together. Lol
It’s okay though I’m just happy that there’s a decent phở place in Hawaii Kai.

My boyfriend and I went in to get takeout after hiking at Mariner’s Ridge. He got the bbq short ribs with shrimp, and I got the chicken curry with french bread. We also added an order of spring rolls. A lot of people say customer service isn’t that great here and I don’t completely agree. The man that took our order smiled and greeted us upon entering. When our food was given to us, he and the man in the kitchen thanked us. Price is not too bad. We spent $ 35 including two drinks. We did wait around 10 – 15 minutes which was a little too long for me.
When it got to actually eating the food. It did not meet my expectations. The chicken curry was «okay». The veggies for the spring rolls weren’t crispy, the edges were browning, and the shrimp wasn’t all that flavorful. I never actually tasted their phở though. I don’t think I’ll be back. I gave them 3 stars just because it wasn’t horrible.

5 stars now called Hi Phở. Under New management. Really friendly along with great service and great phở! Great to finally find a phở spot here in Hawaii Kai !

Phở 777 has closed (probably failed health inspection) and another phở restaurant is in its place. Warning: its the same family!

Phở 777 is your typical, hole in the wall, dirty phở place. It’s located in Hawaii Kai Shopping Center where Longs and Safeway are also located. Parking sucks especially on a weekend or on Sundays during football season since The Shack is right next door.

The good thing about this place is that it satisfies a need in Hawaii Kai. Other than BaLe and maybe Maile’s, this is the only place to get Vietnamese food in the area.
The food: I got the Phở Tai. The broth is exactly the same as the Phở 777 in McCully, which I personally think is not bad at all. The veggies that came out were fresh with the exception of maybe the beansprouts.
The place: Like I said, hole in the wall. I saw 3 cockaroaches. It didn’t surprise me. My phở bowl also had a fairly large chip in it. You eat with your eyes first.
The staff: Having been here several times, the service is always good. The food comes out promptly and the server (s) are efficient when dealing with customers.
If you’re hungover or craving Phở and don’t want to drive into town, this is your place. Prices are reasonable and a bowl of phở can be had for less than $ 10 before tip.
Overall I think Phở 777 in Hawaii Kai serves as a means to an end. Get in, satisfy the hunger, and get out.
