Pretty cool experience! We were a group of 10 with a groupon deal. Captain was super cool and so was the rest of the staff except the woman. We only got to see 3 turtles at a distance and lots of fish, LOTS… they hang a feeder on the scooter to attract them so at times it’s actually annoying cause you’re just kinda floating there with an obstructed view. I was under the impression that we would be able to ride the scooter but that isn’t the case, the staff moves you around. I wasn’t sure what to expect and it took me a bit to get used to being under water in an open capsule. In the end, it was overall a cool experience and the snorkeling is fun… I would do it again but only at a discounted price which makes it worth it.

The experience was just average. I think people who does not know swimming will like it more. The crew was very inefficient and the captain was very rude and arrogant, They should understand that we tourists have paid for fun and not there for the captain’s arrogance. The instructions were not clear and captain was the only one communicated. His rudeness was selective and that really raised concerns in my mind.
The scooter goes 10 ft down, I got severe pain in the ear during most of the time. There is not much riding of the scooter, it is all fishes coming to eat the food makes the ride interesting. We were under water for 10 minutes. They overcharged us for the photos. I will not recommend this to anyone who knows swimming, you can very well go a good snorkeling place and save money.

The experience is good, however the captain is a total racist who’s only nice to white people and Japanese. Was VERY OFFENDED BY HIM.

My girlfriend and I had a very very amazing experience! We got our tickets on groupon which made a big difference with spending.
The crew was super nice and was accommodating with all questions and concerns. There was this lady who got claustrophobic and immediately wanted to get out the scooter. Then after a few minutes later of calming down, they let her get a second chance and was able to catch up with her boyfriend underwater. Also it wasn’t hard to do. My girlfriend was healing from a concussion and this didn’t bother her. It felt like as if you’re on an airplane. You only go about 10 feet down.
I’d say take advantage! You get beautiful views on the way there and on the way back! You get to go snorkeling while waiting for your turn or after you already went. We got to see Sea turtles and they give us bread to feed the fish up close and personal! Also, they provided us with chips and water which was a plus! We got to take our go pro with us which was nice! They take pictures and videos of you underwater with your group which comes out super nice. $ 45 for both pictures and video.
Some tips: Bring a towel. You can bring your own snacks. There’s a place for you to put your stuff in so it won’t get wet. If it’s a raining day bring a light rain jacket or pancho.
Highly recommend!

Swimming with Sea Turtles! Riding a scooter 20 feet underwater! Feeding little fisheys! Come on how cool is that?! We had the BEST time on this scooter and snorkle tour! Our group of 7 was able to get a great deal on Groupon and had one of our best days in Oahu!
We showed up, there were about 20 other people on the boat with us so it was a larger launch. We split up the group and half of us went down while the other half snorkled in the middle of the ocean. It was a bit of a cluster with 30 people, but it was somehow rather organized too.
I remember just relaxing under water, breathing normally with this odd helmut on and enjoying the sea turtles and fish that swam with me. It was so peaceful. We had a great time. It Prolly took longer th an we had hoped. Because there were so many people, but hey, it was a Groupon I felt like we got what we paid for and more!
I’d recommend this for a fun sea adventure day :)

The highlight of our entire trip! We did a lot of activities but this was just amazing! We used a groupon and did the Submarine Scooters and wow I recommend it to everyone. Everyone I tell is wowed just by the fact that it’s even a thing (so were we)! While waiting for everyone else to take their turn (only enough scooters for a few at a time) you can snorkel around the boat and I got close enough to a sea turtle to touch it! The photographer’s photos and videos turned out great and they were really reasonably priced at ~$ 30 I think. The crew was fun as well, definitely recommend! Would love to go back and try the water jet packs!

I was pretty nervous after reading a review right before we got on the boat. I probably shouldn’t have done that but either way I paid for this activity and I was gonna do it anyways! So I decided to try to calm my nerves and just relax. The staff was friendly and made everyone feel welcome and relaxed. We sailed off for about 10 minutes out into the bay where they had another boat with the sub scooters on. I went in on the first round of people cause I just wanted to get it out of the way. I was super nervous cause I had to dunk my head into the ocean to get into the bubble. As much as I was nervous it was totally fine after I finally got in. The diver was super helpful and guided me the entire time. No worries! You’re in good hands. The diver guided us down to the spot and we just chilled down there and saw tons of fish around. Unfortunately no turtles but I did see two while we were out in the bay. You’re down there for 20 minutes and then come back up to the boat. You can also snorkel during the waiting period while people are down on the scooters. All gear is provided, along with life jackets if you’re not a confident swimmer. They also provide water and chips for your enjoyment. It was overall a cool experience and recommend it to anyone who wants an adventure. You can also purchase pictures taken by their divers for $ 30 or $ 45 for both photos and video.

I had so much fun! Swam with turtles and all the staff was so amazing and helpful. They help ease you in to the comfort zone if you are apprehensive! So beautiful! Totally recommend it. Get the Groupon if you can.

The crew was nice and the view underwater was awesome. I feel like I wasn’t given as much time as the first group did. I was controlled under water by a diver to go to a certain way, told to stop, took pictures, and then be controlled again to go back.
I didn’t even get to move around underwater by myself for even a minute. I heard one of them yelled that they were tired so maybe that’s why they shorten our time?! I should’ve timed it to make sure that I had the full 20 mins underwater. I just know that I was snorkeling longer than I did with the scooter.
Maybe the first group bought a different package. When I got on the boat, the person I saw that just got off was from the first group. It would be nice for some explanation so customers don’t get mixed feelings about it. Overall, I enjoyed it. The staffs were good, not exceptional, but good. The view underwater was amazing and I had a good time.

Bottom Line:
This is a really unique adventure that I’ll cherish for the rest of my lifetime. 20 minutes down there feels like 20 seconds, but I enjoyed every second of it thanks to the well executed dive orchestrated by the staff. I would highly recommend it even if it is a bit costly. Thirty feet of water is definitely enough to see some cool sights.

My fiancé and i wanted to see if we would like scuba. Took a discover scuba class. What an amazing experience. My fiancé was a little scared at first. She loved it in the end thanks to the team at island divers.

Heard great things. We booked 5 scooter rides. We got out there. Water was beautiful !! Turtles everywhere. Gorgeous !! Except for the fact. When booked we were told by Linda that we would be going together because they only have 7 scooters. We get on a packed boat, no biggie. We can share lol. BUT nothing of which they told us. Happened !! Lies and Deceit !
We went down on scooters, by ourselves, they didn’t even put us down as a group !! Wtf ?! That was the whole point ! They took pictures of groups of ⁵⁄₆ but when it was our turn, nope. They took a picture of just me, by myself. One in our group was down 2 minutes lol. What a joke ! I Didn’t even see friends down there. Totally sucked !!
Not to mention the crew, well they looked miserable, they must hate their jobs !!! The Captain only one that even spoke and he was irritated !
We went out with another company yesterday and they rocked !! H2O water sports. Awesome guys ! People who enjoy their jobs. We took care of them. We are from Vegas and know how to tip, we aren’t cheap !! We would have taken care of them !! Do your job or maybe get a job where u are not dealing with people !
So on way off of boat, they try to hustle up pictures for $ 50 lol. Pics of me by myself lol. Look Angie on vacay by herself !

Awesome time. I was a little hesitant because I have been snorkeling plenty of times and am not really into the whole touristy thing in Honolulu, but it was my buddy’s last day so we booked it last minute. Everyone was really friendly and we had a blast. We saw a ton of turtles and the scuba thing was pretty fun. Definitely great for those who haven’t been diving or are not very comfortable in the water.
Tips: bring a snack if you want, the boat has chips and water. Also, don’t be shy to wander from the group. The biggest turtles I saw were well away from the main group of bubble scooter dealios.

This is a nice activity to do if you don’t want to scuba dive or snorkel. I am not a good swimmer, don’t care for water, and a bit claustrophobic. I chickened out on scuba dive at the 11^th hour but I had no issues with scuba scooter, particularly as the people at Island Water Sports made me feel at ease. I liked that you have your own personal diver with you while you scooter (which is why there is a wait) and they take awesome photos and a video of you (costs $ 45 to purchase both photos and video). You have to get in the water and do a quick dunk to get into the bubble (vice versa for getting out) — I didn’t like that part but it’s brief and they made sure to make me feel comfortable since I told them I’m not a good swimmer.
The knock-​off for one star was for no restroom on the boat (staff said it’s broken) and for the initial aloofness of the staff when we first got on board. Otherwise, still cool people and a fun once-​in-​a-​lifetime experience.

So much fun and really easy to use! While you are waiting your turn on the submarine scooter you can snorkel and swim in the water. Awesome divers very helpful…

Definitely a once in a life time experience. I sadly do not know how to swim. Therefore to be able to jump into the ocean without a life vest and be not only in the ocean but underneath it as well was remarkable to me. After my vacation in Hawaii, I could say this was my favorite part of the trip.
Our boat contained around 20 – 24 attendees. We were split into groups of 4 – 6 to go underwater each at a time to avoid crowding. There are professional divers swimming next to you the entire time to ensure everything is okay. The scooters are very easy to navigate. The staff are extremely friendly as well.
You’ll be underwater for approximately 10 – 15 mins. During your wait, you are welcome to swim and snorkel next to the boat. It does get a bit chilly after your underwater scoot adventure so I recommend bringing a towel or change or clothes.
Long story short, GO EXPERIENCE IT, YOU WON’T REGRET IT.

I had a great time today. The weather was perfect, sunny, low humidity, with a nice breeze. I had found this great outdoor activity on groupon. Scuba scootering in the pacific with opportunities of swimming and snorkeling is the definition of fun on a Saturday afternoon. My hubby and I waited on the dock for the boat to arrive to pick up the masses. 12pm the boat would depart after checking us in. The captain went around with waivers to sign and taxes that needed to be collected from various vouchers. It was very organized as he informed us of the rules and regulations of our activity. On one side of the boat there were wet suits, flippers and snorkel gear. There were people to help with any questions that needed to be answered to the best of their knowledge. Pictures would be taken by a go pro camera held by one of the professional divers that would go down with every group. We were separated by different colored bracelets.
My hubby and I were the first group to go down into the contraption. Trust me I did not want to go first. We were the guinea pigs. My stomach was churning and I did not showcase any fear. Hubby went first then I followed. I was incredibly nervous and I swallowed a good amount of salt water. I panicked a bit. I was actually the example of what not to do since I was literally standing on the water scooter and not relaxing. Lol My diver calmed me down and told me that it was ok, and that when I was ready I would submerge my head into the water towards the bubble helmet. He was patient and guided me underground to view the tropical fish. I was able to breathe, see underwater, fix my bad waterproof eyeliner, and control the handles while sitting. I circled around for a bit, fed numerous of fish since the food was in a pouch by the helmet. Took some pictures with my hubby which was later displayed to us by the diver on his go pro. I swallowed several times to pop my ears due to the pressure of being deep in the ocean. Before I knew it time was up, and my diver was maneuvering my scooter towards the boat. I saw a huge turtle in the distance and I started to point. He turned me around so that I was able to view it more clearly. Oh it was a magnificent sight to be in the same waters as them. After the sighting was over, I submerged my head one last time to exit the helmet. He then grabbed my waist and helped me swim to the boat. He was my lifeguard and my security for the short period of time. I was grateful and appreciative.
The guys on the boat work very hard and instill fun at the same time. They provide attention, safety, and rules which molds into a memorable experience. We purchased pictures and video for 48 bucks that would be emailed. This was a great company!!!
Thanks for the pieces of bread that we were able to throw in the water to feed the fish captain!!! Don’t forget to tip very well! There are about 4 – 5 guys going underwater to aid and two on deck to monitor. Snacks such as chips and cold water were offered.

We bought a groupon for the snorkeling/​underwater scooter for about $ 114 each (including tax) for two hours out in the ocean. At first, I thought we were just going to be doing all the activities in this small body of water where the boats were docked, but I was wrong. The boat took us out deep into the ocean and that’s when I started getting nervous/​scared because it was my first time ever being in the deep part of the ocean. I really didn’t know what to expect at that point and was just thinking what the hell did I get us into…
My heart was beating so fast as we were given instructions on how to safely/​properly enter into the scooter. I imagined entering the headpiece of the scooter so much differently, like having to enter this tight suction to push your head through, but it was definitely easier than that. Because of the physics/​chemistry of water and air, no water was ever going to enter in that little bubble you were in. All you had to worry about was getting inside and making sure to pop your ears if they started ringing/​hurting due to the change in the pressure as you were being submersed 10 – 15 feet underwater. We were well informed of the hand signals to signal our support divers if we wanted to get out of the water, needed help, or were doing just fine.
Each group was given twenty minutes under water in the scooters. If you were waiting for your turn, you were free to eat some chips/​water that they provided, enjoy the weather/​waves, or snorkel around.
My group was forced to go first. We were definitely all super scared, worried, and nervous at first because this was something we’ve never done before and we were setting the example for everyone else on board. My boyfriend went in first because we felt more comfortable watching someone else do it before we did it ourselves. I went second because I definitely did not want to go last. My heart was beating so fast waiting on the ladder with half my body already submerged to get into my scooter. Once the scooter/​support diver was ready for me, he asked me to dunk my head underwater and insert myself in the headpiece. Once I was inside, I felt more at ease and was ready to go underwater. As I was going deeper underwater, the support diver signaled me to pop my ears the whole time. Not gonna lie, there was a sharp pain in my left ear as we were going down which I felt like wouldn’t go away, but after continuously popping my ears with the technique they suggested, everything was okay. Once the pain went away and I saw all the fishes in the water, I got super excited! I didn’t know they purposely attached bread to your scooter (it was near the handlebars) so I was definitely caught off guard when I was attacked by tons of fishes who started sucking on my hands. This helped get good pictures with lots of fishes surrounding you though!
This was really one of the coolest experiences ever. Being surrounded by fishes/​sea turtles was amazing, especially since I love love love marine animals. The fact that we were attached to a string on a buoy and the support divers were there to assist/​check up on us all the time definitely made us all feel a lot safer/​comfortable. On the way back to the dock, we were able to see a group of dolphins swim near us which was super cool. Wish we saw them while we were in the water though!
The workers were so laid back and super nice. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is visiting O’ahu. Even if you can’t swim (like my best friend), they make sure you’re safe and you really do enjoy yourself. All you gotta do is get inside the bubble and everything is good from then on :)

The activity is so simple, basically, a scooter ride (10−15ft deep in the water) for approximately 20mins and interacting/​watching beautiful sea creatures.
Just beware of the pressure difference, it really hurt and popped my ears (like in planes but more) but in no time, I got used it and enjoyed it so very much! And of course, check the weather forecast before booking a day so that the clarity underneath the water is the best!
Lol. Pay attention and listen to the staff as they are instructing because they give you heads up on every topic important and it really came of use to us.

I can’t say enough about this wonderful company! I was in town for just the day on a cruise with Holland America (mid-​Jan) and was told by a friend it was well worth the trip and rate.
From start to finish, this company was a CLASS act! They were laid back HI style, yet professional and prepared.
I am now home from my vacation, but still remember the amazing feeling of being up and close to Turtles and more tropical fish than I could count.
This was certainly one of the highlights. I 100% recommend this activity with this company, they ROCK!
