Pacific Paradise Acupuncture

I had been dealing with severe *HOT FLASHES* for nine long years. Also I had been experiencing ‘anxiety’ to the point of a panic attack that sent me to the ER one night. I was scared and uncomfortable a lot of the time. I couldn’t understand it. I took natural hormone creams to help with the hot flashes but they never went away. I also did not want to go on a dr. s prescription of Lorazepam for my anxiety.
I was seeking a second opinion and advice from a N.D. instead of an M.D. Some of the things she suggested helped but I wanted a cure, not just a band-​aid fix for a short time.
Then I met Shelly … I felt like the heavens had opened and an angel was sent. She joined our North Shore BNI Chapter and I learned more and more about acupuncture each week. Of course I had heard of acupuncture before but did not know the details of how or why it worked. I decided to try it.
I first started out with three consecutive treatments and noticed a difference right away. She also gave me some chinese herbs to try for my anxiety. I took these for months until I can honestly say I have NO MORE ANXIETY!!! During this time, I bought TEN consecutive treatments and went religiously every week. I am *HOT FLASH* free, sleep better because of that and the inflammation in my right shoulder (which I forgot to mention earlier) is gone.
I literally feel like myself again! We have become good friends and there is honestly no better therapy than a good laugh with a good friend.

About a year and a half ago, I started opening up my mind to Eastern medicine. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to try acupuncture. I started with a groupon, and the rest is history! I had so many issues with sleep, waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, back problems, stress, old injuries from car accidents, and just overall neglect of my body. On my fist visit, Shelly gave me hope for a better future. She asked me a series of questions, took my pulse, and checked my tongue in order to make the proper diagnosis and treatment recommendation. I went in for one visit, and I knew I needed more!
Once I started seeing Shelly every week for a period of time, I noticed that my ailments went away and I felt rejuvenated! She is a true healer. In the beginning, I was not afraid of the needles, but I was worried that acupuncture might not work. Once I realized that keeping an opened mind allowed the treatment to work even better, I started coming more often and truly receiving the benefits of acupuncture. After some time or seeing Shelly consistently, I felt back in balance again, and more aware, and connected to the elements of nature around me. I am truly thankful for her guidance and healing in my life!
After much success with acupuncture, I decided to branch out and explore other services that Shelly provides. I tried energy healing, weight loss consultation/​products (called Kyani), and even cupping! I would strongly recommend all her services, especially the energy healing. I make this recommendation because I learned so much about energy, and about myself in the process.
I told all my coworkers about Shelly’s practice and many of them have received treatment from her and have given awesome, positive feedback. I personally recommend anyone and everyone I know to Shelly because she provides empathy along with healthcare, and truly develops a relationship with her patients. Shelly shows an honest desire, to help people. I strongly recommend purchasing a package of treatments as it is the best value, and also because acupuncture works best if you go consistently. I absolutely recommend visiting Shelly if you are looking for a way to work on an acute injury, or ailment, or even if you just want to decompress, relax, and enjoy what the elements of your own body has to offer through acupuncture! :)

Back in approximately October 2013, my husband started seeing Shelly for some aches and pains he had from playing soccer. He had seen several acupuncturists in the past, but never felt much of a difference after his treatments. But with Shelly, he felt an immediate relief from most of his aches and pains.
I’ve suffered from insomnia for close to 10 years. Sometimes it would take me 2 – 3 hours of lying in bed to fall asleep. Nothing seemed to help, and I really didn’t want to resort to prescription meds. So I decided to give Shelly a try.
I started seeing her in later October 2013, and since my initial visit, have not had a single incidence of not being able to fall asleep. It sounds kind of weird, but it feels so great to feel tired at night!
With being able to sleep at night, everything in my life has taken a turn for the better from being able to focus more at work, to being more relaxed & happy at home.
Initially I was seeing Shelly every week, but have tapered it down to maintenance which will be 1x a month.
An added bonus to all of this is that our insurance covers 20 visits per calendar year (we have HMAA — I believe HMSA has the same coverage).
Shelly is down to earth and my husband and I both felt very comfortable with her from our initial visit. She has definitely changed my life for the better :-)

I am a Total Needle-​phobe. Seriously. I haaaaate needles, omg. I can’t even look at them; I have to look away; and honestly, I’m getting a little weak just writing this.
Acupuncture
I’ve always liked the idea of acupuncture, but could never get over the needle thing. I finally bumped into a guy who told me how he was the same way, but Shelly gave him acupuncture and his hip issue – after all the other things he tried that didn’t work – went away. Having my own hip issue, that caught my attention.
Needles
So I booked a session and I was scared as hell. The fear beforehand is worse than the needles. The needles don’t hurt, and I’m not bullshitting you. Think back to when you were a little kid. Now imagine your classmate takes a pencil and pokes you in the arm with the tip. (Not jabs or stabs, just a light poke.) THAT’S what it felt like, at its worst. Some needles I didn’t even feel. So no big deal. And here I am being a big pansy.
Shelly
Shelly is awesome; she’s got a great, relaxed, down-​to-​earth vibe. Her treatment space is nice, calm, peaceful. All very cool. And she’s got something like seven years of acupuncture schooling on top of her years of experience, so yeah, she knows what she’s doing.
Results
It’s too soon to tell… but she’s good enough that this needle-​phobic, Pake girl purchased another couple of sessions. She’s THAT good. :)

OMG! Shelly is awesome! She fixed the pain in my shoulder and my left foot! I’ve had this pain in my foot (Big Toe tendinitis) for months. I’ve had acupuncture before to heal my shoulder/​neck pain and had heard great reviews about Shelly, so when the Groupon was available, I decided to try it. The first treatment concentrated on my neck/​shoulder, foot and digestion. Neck/​shoulder pain was gone the next day. Digestion seemed good. My foot pain was still knawing… so I went in the following week and we discussed the pain in more detail, she tried a different technique, I believe with Moxa? After the needles were removed and I stood up, I immediately noticed the difference. She’s awesome. Definitely go see her… I will definitely continue my visits.

The location is very good, you can park in the lot. It’s quiet, and the room is comfortable and relaxing, there’s even a cool «galaxy» light overhead while you’re relaxing. Shelly really is very caring and calm, which is conducive to me feeling more calm! I really would recommend her services to anyone, I feel like she could have a positive impact on whatever ails you.
