no yea. i have to agree with whover said country café sucks ass now. before when they were located where chodang restraunt is now, they used to have shoyu chicken and adobo and all the ono grind local flavors and after their kitchen burned down, they moved to international food court. and to be accurate maybe within the last year or 2 iz really riduclous… let me elaborate i orderred the macnut crusted chicken w/the nutz on top and then i go to my seat to open it up and take pictures for yellp riiiight like im gonna show off some island flavors. to summarize that particular«dish» the chicken was 2 rectangular patties of idk wtf it was but, i thought it was a mushy squid. the blacken ahi wrap was disgusting. the blt sandwich was weak. i had better sandwich in jail. n im like this aint no vegetarian taro patty burger. maybe they want to reduce their menu to specialize in a few things they’re good at like a triple threat. sorry country café. had to leave it alone. bye.

Wow… What happened to ICC? I used to love this place. I just drive by the restaurant on Queen street and decided to turn around and buy dinner. First thing, the guy greeted me with a «we’re closing in 10 minutes so you cannot eat here.» Well I wasn’t planning on it anyway… FYI. Secondly I ordered the cornmeal chicken. When I got it it looked real bad and just looked like they didn’t really care about the product they are putting out. Soo disappointed. Probably won’t ever come back here.

I’ve tried this place three times now, thinking I might be able to get something healthy out of them. The first time I ordered the Cobb salad. They have no vinaigrette dressing. So you can choose from either a sour ginger vinegar sauce or a fatty, creamy dressing. The salad was large, and had plenty of ingredients, but the shredded chicken was very dry. Wendy’s and McDonalds have better salad. The second time I ordered the turkey platter. I didn’t want mashed potatoes, but the only other side she offered me was French fries. When I got my food it was covered in gravy. All of it. Even the salad(which is just iceberg lettuce with some carrot slivers and one sliced tomato) was drenched in gravy. The turkey was mediocre, being very dry aside from the gravy. Mashed potatoes were similarly mediocre. The garlic butter toast is amazing, but I only had one tentative bite since I was trying to eat healthy. The last time, and it will be the last, I asked if they had grilled fish. After conferring among one another, they said that they did, that the funikake fish of the day was grilled. I said I would have that, with steamed brown rice. Ok. They said it came with Asian vegetables. Sounded good. What I got was a heavy styrofoam box full of brown fried rice, vegetables(lettuce, cabbage, bean sprouts) that seemed to have been stir fried in butter, and three pieces of breaded(fried) fish on top. I ate 1⁄3rd of it and threw the rest away. It was pretty good, but not what I ordered or wanted. All three meals were between $ 12 and $ 16, making this by far the most expensive place in the food court. Complaints are met by blank stares. There is a significant language barrier issue. The NEX is amazing, and the food court is popular. Get rid of this place and put in something good. Or just let one of the great tent/kiosk restaurants take over that space so they can speed production. Mr. Gyro’s always has a line and I bet they could make a larger variety of Mediterranean food faster with the use of the kitchen currently being wasted by I Love Country Café.

There were 2 Filipino guys working, one of them walked right in front of us as we walked in with no smile or greet, the other guy was near the kitchen entrance he saw us come in and also did not greet us, we stood there for a good 7 minutes until the guy near the kitchen sloppily said can I help you, I ordered a strawberry smoothie and he walked away than came back and told the other guy«hey strawberry smoothie» he scooped the ice and went into the kitchen than came out a few minutes later with the smoothie, said here and put it on the counter, I will never go back here because the customer service SUCKED and so did the smoothie!!!

I ordered food for here and they give me food in styrofoam and plastic bag. Say no to plastic! Won’t support this business. Food was not great either.

I used to like this place a few years back. We still go for lunch break every now and again. I probably will never return though after the last experience. First off, the guy taking orders needs to be fired immediately. He is so hard to understand and he is very unprofessional. I get that it’s not like a super important job but have a little courtesy, as you are the face of this once pretty great establishment. I ordered the Kiawe mushroom steak and it wasn’t disgusting but it was supposed to come with vegetables and salad but I only got salad. For 14 bucks I got green salad and rubbery fat steak that was by no means worth it. I don’t know why they let this place deteriorate like they did. Maybe it’s a new owner or something but you are failing and I won’t be returning.

Stopped in for lunch take out. Lots of choices, so it took awhile to decide. There’s lots of yummy looking plates, but a bit pricey, like $ 10 for a small, $ 14 for regular plate. I chose chicken fried chicken, with mashed potatoes, green beans and sausage gravy. It was good, nice portion, and lots of green beans! I noticed all the customers at the tables were waiting for food. They did get their plates delivered while we were waiting, which seemed like it took a long time. I’d say at least ten minutes to get our take out. I’ll probably go back to try some of the other things on the menu, but like others here on Unilocal,I miss the old Ala Moana location.

I work right down the street from this place, and I finally decided to try it out… I should have read all of the reviews first! Service was horrible!!! First off, the front counter person had no customer service whatsoever, and I could barely understand him. It wasn’t just the language barrier, but he was grunting alot and making weird noises and I tried to tell him my order. He wasn’t friendly at all. Second, their prices don’t even match their online menu prices! I went to order the bacon cheeseburger, and the man charged me $ 9.25 when it clearly says $ 8.95 on the menu. Also, I wanted to upgrade to seasoned fries instead of regular, and when I did, he charged me an additional $ 2.25 when it also states that it’s only $ 1.50 on the menu! Because of the communication barrier, I wasn’t able to explain this to the front counter guy and just told him that I’ll pay the extra $ 2.25 anyways. Their idea of taking my order consisted of grabbing a scrap piece of paper that was laying around and scribbling down what I wanted, and handing it to the people in the back. I waited about ten minutes before I received my food, and then left(I had ordered to go) and low and behold when I got back to work and opened up my plate my burger had NO bacon on it and my fries were NOT upgraded to the seasoned fries that I had paid an extra $ 2.25 for, but I guess that’s what I get when I enter an establishment that still uses scratch paper to take orders. Needless to say I was livid, but did not go back because my lunch hour was almost over. I would not recommend this place. Kakaako has a lot of great lunchtime eateries, and this is not one of them!

The last time I had gone to a ILCC was quite some time ago. Had an appointment in the area so I stopped by the Queen St. location. Food was okay but not like how I remember it being when I used to go to the NEX location all the time. Servings were huge and the local fried rice was decent. my Loco Moco was pretty good except my patty was a bit over-cooked and my mac salad was just smashed down on the top of my eggs. I remember at other locations they would put it into a separate little container. It was okay but if I go back I’ll head to the NEX location next time.

Gone are the days when the thought of eating a plate lunch at I Love Country would me cause a small splotch of drool to form on the corner of my mouth. I remember standing in line at the ala moana location and watching them cook up some nice stir fried dishes. I’d usually get brown rice and greens to trick myself into thinking I was being healthy. I really liked their BBQ chicken and fish dishes as well. Unfortunately, going down hill is somewhat of an understatement for thiis place… it’s more like they fell off a cliff. I stepped into the Queen street location, after not eating at ILCC in many, many years and was sorely disappointed. It seemed like all of what made the old place great, had moved to the country instead. I had the Mochiko chicken salad and it was pretty bad. The chicken was soggy(with oil) and tasteless. My friend had some fish with fries and his was equally bad. The one good thing was I thought the dressing for the salad was pretty good. This and the A/C was cold(it was hot out) were the only pluses that come to mind. Oh well, the good ‘ol I Love Country will have to live forever in my memories. Sadly, a generous, 2 stars. :(

I used to love the Old place back when it was on Piikoi. Food was top notch and service was very professional. Now the food and service are Hit or miss. It’s a gamble when you order the food. Sometimes the food is made perfectly other days they just mess up. Food will come to you over cook and dry. Or under or over seasoned. This is the fault of management. Now onto the service. It all depends who is behind the counter that day. If you get the tall Filipino guy then you will be treated like a KING. But if you get the short Filipino guy with lisp that always uses a hat… then you will be treated like a B###H. On numerous times when I go there I’m very respectful and always tell him thank you. I always get no respond. Idiot acts like a DIVA. There was one situation where they messed up my wife’s order. She ordered the Veggie skillet. She got the Sunrise skillet. Which had meat in it. I tell the cashier about the issue. She goes ahead an fixes the problem. My wife gets her Veggie skillet but this time the potatoes are not cooked. It was hard like a rock. It wasn’t cook thoroughly. I tell the cashier the problem and she is very apologetic. But instead of correcting the problem she gives us a slice of banana bread for free. WTF!!! My wife’s breakfast is like $ 10 and this idiot gives us slice of banana bread that’s worth $ 2. If the owner was there I know he would not have done that. The owners and higher ups are nice people and are very professional. It’s just the employees that need to get there act together. And change their attitude. Treat EVERYONE like royalty and not just a few. And maybe I Love Country Café can be a place I can LOVEAGAIN.

Hit here for breakfast while waiting on my U-Haul and was pleasantly surprise. The potatoes weren’t that good and won’t get again as basically were pre-seasoned over baked frozen potatoes but the bacon was crispy and the Denver omelet was pretty damn good which was surprising for Hawaii. Will repeat. Don’t come here though if you are looking for a dining experience though, as the other folk have posted it’s basically a dive. Still it’s a dive with a pretty solid breakfast.

Debating between 1&2 stars but to be fair I start off with five stars and took away one star for every wrong that they did. Actually they would have a zero. If you watch«That 70s show» the cashier reminds me of FEZ and I can not understand what he is saying. 1. While waiting to order the cashier/food runner walked in the kitchen instead of taking our order. 2. When the cashier\food runner dropped our plates I was doing work. He didn’t give me a chance to move my work, he proceeded to put the plate on my work, there was so much space on the table that he could have put it anywhere else but directly on my work(which the plate was dirty beneath and I had to wipe the gunk off my work, thank goodness there was a plastic covering the part that was messed.) 3. My husband ordered«scrambled eggs» he got«easy over.» 4. I ordered the fried sesame tofu and it is pretty much always inconsistent. This time it was fried on the outside and somehow when you picked up the pieces or bit it, plain old water was soaked in there and it was dripping/squirting out(I had never experienced this type of variation and it’s my bad because I keep ordering the Seseme Tofu, in my defense a few years ago it was really good). 5. Fez and the middle age Filipino lady in the kitchen have really loud disrupting conversations from the cash register yelling into the kitchen and vice versa throughout your whole meal. That’s how I scored this a Zero.

Don’t come here. I’m not sure what meat product was put on my eggs benedict but it tasted like spam and had the texture of leather. Super stick and shady on the inside. Never again.

This review is for the catering services. I use these folks A LOT for work because gosh darn they are the easiest and most convenient people to work with! Need to feed 20 parents for a 6pm meeting that night and want it delivered? No problem! Have a weekend retreat to feed 10 but want it delivered hot and fresh? You got it! Can I pay you after the fact! Well of course but only because my company has an account with them and are repeat customers =) Overall, the food is consistently good, fresh, and hot when delivered. Some things are better than others in my opinion but their catering people are my fail safe. When I do order, I usually always get the chicken picatta(yum, lightly creamy with capers!) and steamed veggies(always perfect never over done).

There’s nothing special about this place. They offer breakfast items all day, have the normal plate lunches and some Filipino specialties like lechon. They have photos of their food posted but the name of the item is above it so it’s a bit confusing. I ended up looking at a take-out menu to choose what I wanted to eat. The breakfast portions were small. It was half the box but it’s spread out to look like a lot. The beef for the Spanish beef and eggs were overcooked. The beef was dry and hard that it broke off a piece of the plastic fork. The mochiko chicken was okay but I’ve had better at other places. Overall the food is not appealing and if I had an option, I’d rather drive to Ward Warehouse for better food.

I just had take out from here. It was turkey with gravy and apparently stuffing on the bottom. The stuffing was rotten. I mean — garbage rotten. (Note that it was covered with the turkey and gravy so I didn’t know at first). This is the first time I have had food this bad. Now I am feeling sick. I used to love this place when it was by Ala Moana. Should be ZERO stars!!! WHATHAPPENED???

First time I came here was with my mom. We entered the place, looked at the menu and decided to go elsewhere. Second time I came here was with my friend, Joanna L. which was last week. Now I can say that there was a reason why the first time I came here, I quickly left. I had a hard time ordering food because to be honest, nothing was really appealing to me a whole lot. I ordered mochiko chicken. I’m going to just say I’ve had better. My friend was waiting to put her order in. There was only one person working the front area. He was handing out the foods to the customers waiting at tables. My friend was waiting for a good five minutes until finally someone from the kitchen came out to take her order. I sat down at a table and when he brought my food, the salad dressing was ranch. I wanted thousand island so I went to ask the guy working the front and he told me they ran out for the day but maybe tomorrow they will have. Umm… what? Okay… well I won’t be coming back TOMORROW or any other day after that. The place didn’t feel and look clean. Overall, it was just a terrible experience. I really miss the I Love Country Café that was part of where Eggs N Things is located now in Ala Moana. Such a bummer because that place had good food and decent service.

Since they closed the Ala Moana location, this is my first time to the Queen Street establishment. For some reason, it seems that this place is not the same. The food was OK but I wasn’t impressed. I was more like«disappointed» as the food didn’t win me over. I ordered their banana pancakes and was impressed 5 slices came. It was way too much and couldn’t finish it. As I was waiting for my food, I looked at their menu as well as the snacks and baked goods on the counter. They didn’t look good at all. The prices were on the high side and as I walked out I told myself that I most likely will not come here again soon.
