Marie Louise Cleaners

After my thanksgiving weekend wedding, I knew dry cleaning my gown was on my to-​do list (along with thank you cards that still remain unfinished– eek!). I also wanted to preserve it, just incase I decide to donate it later on.
Of course I jump on Unilocal and find three businesses. One’s website linked to Thai weddings and «Thailand wedding guide» (and their number isn’t in service). Another did dry cleaning but no preservation.
So Marie Louise cleaners it is. I call and they quote me prices starting at $ 289 plus $ 25 for beading (which my gown has– the entire bust area has heavy delicate beadwork). Now that I look back at my receipt, they charged me $ 300 flat (I think the girl there mentioned some sort of VIP discount?).
I also had my wedding gown (second change out dress) and my two dogs dresses that they wore to our wedding (yes, the Man of Honor and the Best Woman escorted them down the aisle).
I’m pleased at how the gown preservation came out. They put it in a sealed box which was inside a cardboard box. As for how my wedding gown was dry cleaned: there were still some brown stains at the bottom of the dress but it wasn’t as dark as when I dropped it off. I can’t speak to the value of my gown cleaning and preservation since I don’t know of any other place that does this service.

I brought 4 pieces in to be cleaned. Three of the four had a few stains (mainly alcohol stains). Well I brought in the items to be cleaned and pointed out every single stain on every piece of clothing. They were marked with yellow tape.
Well I came to pick up my clothes today and the cashier informs me that they were unable to remove the stains from one of my tops. I check it out and it looks like they didn’t even clean it. Well then I start examining the other two pieces and all the stains I had pointed out were still there. Did they even clean these tops!?! I’ll post pictures so you can see the terrible job. At the end of this ordeal I had to Pay full price for all pieces. It ended up costing me $ 32.09 for a terrible job that’s going to result in me donating 3 of the 4 pieces to goodwill.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. Customer service is dismal and the quality is well below par.

Easy location right off of Piikoi & friendly staff. I asked for a king size quilt & two shams to be cleaned in 2 days and they quickly said they would put a rush on it. They were ready on time and look great.

Great same day service, suit and tie was done by 3pm (promised time). Parking was easy and establishment was clean. Reasonable prices as well!

Be aware that their price list is not their actual prices. There is no way to get the prices on the price list. The price list does not include an «environmental» fee of $ 1.00 per item that is used to pay for their chemicals. This is not optional. There can also be other undisclosed additions (folding, detail on the garment, etc.).
The FTC calls having a current price list that you will not honor a «deceptive trade practice». It is illegal.
At a minimum, they should adjust the price list to show the actual price (including the «environmental» fee) and show a list of common add-​ons like folding.
To be fair — they do a good job. They are just disingenuous about the price you pay for it.

Totally reliable and accommodating! My husband and I flew into Waikiki for a wedding, we needed his shirt & my dress pressed. They were able to accommodate my needed date without any crazy fee & everything was exceptionally cleaned.

My favorite thing about Marie Louise Cleaners is that they pick up and drop off at my office. It saves me so much time, and I’m all for saving a little bit of gas and not having to sit in more traffic.
My company is a VIP group member here so I get those rates, which are considerably more affordable than their retail rates. It’s worth the investment, as there’s about a 50% price difference for most pieces! You also get a Marie Louise Cleaners bag you can re-​use each time — just remember to slide your business card into the identification tag.
I’m always satisfied with their care of standard pieces. I’ve sent in dresses, work blazers… but I was especially pleased with the detail they put into a few pairs of pants. They ironed pleats in and they’ve never looked better!
The only negative I have is I sent in a heavy sweater once and it came back stretched out. It wasn’t ruined, but it definitely wasn’t the shape it used to be. Now I’m a little more cautious when sending things that require some special attention.

I have several one-​of-​a-​kind outfits from local designer, Anne Namba, that are made from vintage kimono or obi silk fabric. Usually, I take them into another local dry cleaners but this one particular garment is off-​white and had brown spots caused by mildew damage, common to Hawaii. I took the garment to my usual cleaners but they refused service because they couldn’t/wouldn’t guarantee results. So, I decided to call Anne Namba’s studio for a dry cleaner recommendation. They said «take your garment to Marie Louise. they’re excellent and even Anne Namba uses them personally». Hearing directly from the designer’s staff put me at ease and I quickly brought my garment in.
When I entered the shop, I was greeted cheerfully and professionally. I showed the receptionist the garment and she warned me that they could attempt to remove the stains but it would cost a bit more AND no guarantee that all could cleaned off. She gave me a quote which I felt was fair and not overly expensive considering the fact that nowadays, dry cleaning is expensive! The garment had cost me several hundred dollars so I decided to take a chance.
I left the garment, crossed my fingers and had hopes because Marie Louise accepted the challenge. A week later, I picked up my garment… alas, the stains were still there but lighter! They did their best, but, mildew stains on silk is very difficult, if not impossible to remove. My understanding of this and expectations were aligned! Service and care for my climate-​damaged garment was friendly, professional and reasonable.
I had a very positive experience and would gladly bring my other dry-​clean only garments here.

Had my wedding dress pressed by them before my wedding. I moved with it from the mainland and it rode here in the overhead bin on the plane so it definitely needed to be pressed. They did a great job. It was done right on time when they said it would be. Yes, it costs a bit… but so does anything with the word wedding in it. $ 131.94 for the dress pressing.

I’ve used many cleaners in town and have had lots of expensive clothes ruined. And normally, when I call it to the attention of the staff they give me a blank stare and won’t do anything in compensation. Marie Louise is the best: Wendy makes sure that you’re completely happy with the cleaning, will assist with repairs, and everyone at this establishment is courteous and customer service oriented. I highly recommend Marie Louise if you care about your clothes.

They did a good cleaning job and the buttons on my shirt are still in place but their softener could be a little bit stronger.
Including VIP discount I had to pay $ 28 for 4 long sleeve business shirts.

The best dry cleaner on the island. They follow care instructions, are polite and service oriented and do a great job on your clothes. I’ve never had that gross chemical smell and my clothes last much longer. Their express drop off service is very helpful as well.

I think the reviews on this page are fake or friends of the owner. I would highly suggest going somewhere else for dry cleaning. I took my 2 hats to this dry cleaner, one hat looks like they did a good job (the hawaii hat), the other hat looks like they cleaned it, but it also looks like someone sat on it for a whole day and completely forgot about it. The pics don’t do it justice. I was given an 8.95 refund, but that hat cost 38.99. When I originally dropped it off the employee agreed that it looked disfigured, then when telling me that weren’t going to reimburse me the same employee asked why does it matter if it’s disfigured? It’s like wearing a wrinkled shirt all the time. It just doesn’t look good. I’ll probably seek advice from the BBB.

I recently bought a suit, and needed to get it cleaned. Rather than find the cheapest place, I decided to check Unilocal out, and found Marie Louise Cleaners had captured Unilocalers’ hearts. Despite warnings about higher prices, I decided to take my clothes here anyway to test them out.
Fair warning, the prices here are indeed high. They have two pricing tiers, the Retail and the VIP Club (which is about 20% less than the Retail pries). They do give new customers VIP Pricing for the first THREE visits, which I was impressed by, in addition to the fact that they offered it to me straight up without me asking or even knowing about the program. After the first three visits, the VIP club costs $ 15 annually, whch is a steal if you dry clean regularly. They could easily charge 3 – 4 times the annual fee and it would still be worth it for regulars. I took in a two piece suit, 1 long sleeve dress shirt, and 2 short sleeve silk aloha shirts. Final price with tax came in just under $ 40.
They are in a funny location on Kona St, but have a small amount of free parking on site. The staff was nice, helpful, and cheery. I called them once to ask how late they were open, and a real person with good command of the English language answered the phone immediately.
My items were all well-​cleaned and pressed. They paid good attention to detail around the buttons and on the harder to iron places like the shoulders. Each item was individually hung and protected with a plastic sheet.
Other than the somewhat high prices, the only reason I hesitate from the 5^th star is the service time. It took a full week to get my items back, though to their credit it was ready on time as promised on the receipt. Im not sure if rush service is available.

These guys are GREAT! After visiting several other dry cleaners that couldn’t get some dirt stains out of my linen pants, these guys got them out, no problem! They were friendly, had good prices, and paid attention to my requests and did exactly what I asked. They aren’t located in the best area, right next to a bunch of strip clubs, but they’re a diamond in the rough!

Thank you for your two message below. No, I am not a liar nor telling stories. I am just stating the fact that actually happened to me in your store. I hope you realize that now you are making an unsatisfied customer more upset and not helping your business. I am very surprized that your company does not recall ruining my dress about two years ago. Perhaps, you might want to consider keeping incident reports in your store? If my dress was never ruined because of your company’s error (technically, it was a fault of the person who did not read the care labels, according to the owner) and proper service recovery and sincere apology were provided on that day, I would not have posted my review. Your messages below shows that your store did not keep the record of my complaints. Also, I clearly remember that day I had to see my dress came back in different color. You were not in the store at that time. With regards to the sign, now it’s confirmed that you are not aware of the sign posted on the board next to the till in your store (the verbiage I used to describe the sign might not be exactly the same, but the sign basically says that you read care labels), perhaps that is why my dress was ruined? I went to your store a few months ago just because the other dry cleaning store that I have been using was closed on that day. Also, I wanted to see if your overall customer service has improved. When I was there, I saw the sign was still posted on the board.
Brandy, I know you take good care of each customer at the counter. You have assisted me several times in the past. I was always impressed with your professional genuine customer skills. You care about the company so you probably thought my review was from someone trying to attack or sabotage your business, therefore, your messages below are defensive and angry. However, if you would accept the fact the incident actually happened and understand that it was very upsetting and disappointing to see my own garment was destroyed by the store that I thought I could trust, it would be much appreciated. (The dress was given to me by my deceased grandmother. It was irreplaceable) I now wonder if the incident would have been treated differently, if you were in the store on that day.

First of all, I’ve worked for this company for 3 years. We didn’t ruin any orange dress! Please refresh my memory like a name! 2^nd of all we do not have a sign that says «we read care labels» that a lot of BS!!! Get your facts straight before you star downgrading this company!!! We’ve worked far too hard on on quality and customer service!!! Wendy the owner is awesome! So please stop talking telling stories!!!

TWO main reasons I’ve been going to Marie Louise for a couple of years:
ONE: Cleaning solution that doesn’t smell toxic. My previous dry cleaner used chemicals that bothered me so much that I had to air my clothes out for a week so that I wouldn’t get a headache. I can wear my clothes immediately after picking them up from Marie Louise.
TWO: Pick up & Delivery. Time is money. I work in their delivery area & if it saves me 30 minutes to go out of my way to pick up my laundry, delivery is priceless. They keep my credit card on file so I don’t need to be there in person.
My only wishes: Open earlier on Saturday (they open at 10) and/​or open on Sundays (they are closed). Parking lot is a little awkward — back out carefully!
I also recently had them hem a pair of designer jeans and it was done perfectly! Alterations and cleaning, delivered to your door… I’d pay a buck or so more for that anyday.

so after my last episode with my ex-​cleaners… i decided to go with trusty Unilocal!, and try out Mary Louise Cleaners… and Unilocal! was right… this place is by far the best place to get your clothes cleaned…
i needed a suit to be cleaned, and couldn’t wait a week for it, so i called up and asked if they had a rush service… they said yes, and from then on it’s been great… i signed up for the VIP service, as well as getting my co-​workers to jump on the band wagon…
pick-​up and delivery service is great. and all items are in their own individual plastic covering… quality is top notch… and the prices is perfect.

This place is awesome! The customer service to me is what counts at a dry cleaners, and these guys were great. I called this morning, they got my clothes in before noon and I am getting them back the same day. I wont say they can do that every time for every person but the fact that they have one day service plus pick up and delivery in the area and a friendly knowledgeable staff is really worth a 5 star rating to me — they went the extra mile for me and I appreciate things like that!

My husband was first introduced to this place when it used to be called Keda’s. He was referred there by the sales staff at Neiman Marcus when he purchased an Armani suit. It was a little pricier than other dry cleaners in the area (even Hakuyosha), but they gave special attention to caring and cleaning garments. Small things, like pleats were always ironed carefully and my sweaters were always stuffed nicely with tissue paper… stuff like that.
It hasn’t really been the same with the new ownership. I have to always «remind» them how many garments I brought in… and certain things just don’t seem the same. It doesn’t quite feel like I’m getting anything extra for the price. I’d still recommend this place… but I wish it was still Keda’s.
