LikeLike is an old island favorite. if you are mainland foody you probably wont like it because it is old fashioned. Locals and us former kamaina who are returning to visit; go there for saimin and hotcakes, or the ox tail soup — there is a wonderful lemon chiffon pie too. We know the owners and the long time staff too so its like coming home. If you no get it, you no ohana.

I went here with my Husband and teen daughter 2 nights before Christmas. We wanted to go somewhere different so we chose this place. We were the only ones in line to be seated but waited about 5 minutes before anyone even noticed us. When we did get seated, our server asked if we were ready to order, we did not even look at the menu yet and she asked. So we asked for our drinks, she brings them and actually dropped a glass on the table in front of my husband and it broke! She left the entire mess with water running off the table while she got something to clean it up. That took a few minutes to even find something. Then we finally order our food, hubby ordered a cheeseburger, daughter and I ordered the fried MahiMahi. Cheeseburger came alone, no fries or anything, so hubby asked for fries and we got what seemed like 3 large size fries from McDonalds as a serving! Mine and daughters plate were horrible. 2 piles of mashed potaotes — no gravy at all, no flavor either. The breading on the fish is what ruined it for the both of us. It left us with a bad aftertaste in our mouths. Then I thought I would order dessert, I got the chocolate ice cream. Serving size was so small, that seemed like 4 bites was about all they served! Oh and all that nearly cost us $ 60 for 3 people We won’t be going back.

After hearing the hype, we thought we’d try this spot, and sadly, we were disappointed. In their defense, we went at dinner; maybe it’s a better value at lunch? But the dinner menu was over-priced and the food was mostly… meh. The saimin might be the exception, as we enjoyed that. It wasn’t huge, but it was adequate. The fried, cheese-filled, bacon-wrapped hot dog was a novelty, but it was tiny for the price. The sandwiches we ordered were nothing special. Service was decent and we found parking in the small strip mall lot that houses the restaurant. Verdict: I wouldn’t go here again. It’s expensive and not especially good.

Always an easy choice to come for breakfast or lunch. The waitresses are always nice and courteous. The plates are filling and the atmosphere is relaxed.

One of our favorite places to come… anytime, day or night. You cannot go wrong with their fried rice and Portuguese sausage. Their complete meals are a great deal and the food is yummy. Hamburger steak, ham shank with cabbage, spaghetti, their fries… yum…hamburger curry, breakfast… I could go on and on. They recently hired a pastry chef and he is THEBOMB! Blueberry scones, cookies: chocolate chip and peanut butter, chocolate cake, pies: lemon chiffon, guava, chocolate and Lilikoi… to die for!!! The staff is another reason we like to come here. They are so friendly and attentive. We will continue to come back on a nearly weekly basis!

First thing I noticed as soon as we walked in was the dirty carpet. I headed to the men’s restroom and it was filthy with no hand towels and rubbish everywhere. The Restauraunt was busy but there was no excuse for the bathroom to be trashed and I stocked. Fortunately our waitress was very friendly and the food was ok.

Just finished eating dinner. Always a great place to go. The Chopped Steak was fantastic as well was the Spare rib special. We normally have breakfast there but tonight wanted something different… well worth it! It’s a great family atmosphere especially since the next table was celebrating a father’s birthday!

I ordered the pancake sandwich, the pancakes were great. The side orders however were TINY. I’m talking even a keiki-would-still-be-hungry size. We’ve been going here for years and it keeps getting more and more overpriced as the portions shrink. That being said the service is great. They refilled my water and coffee 5 times in the half hour I was there. NOTETORESTAURANTOWNER: Be more generous with your portions and you will maintain your loyal customers, trying to pinch pennies by cutting down sizes will send me and the rest of Hawaii to Zippy’s. Your call.

Well i have to say that I was a little disappointed because of the service i got. From the lady’s demeanor, i thought she was kind of rude as well as not too friendly. I was a little bit disappointed with the food as well as the menu selection because I figured that if you order a burger and french fries, it would make sense to make it a complete meal and a drink, which is a lot better than purchasing it separately. My overall experience of this restaurant is a ok, but I don’t think I am going to be going back to this establishment again or in the near future because of how the selections are from the menu and may be it would be a good idea to change the menu so that it will be a little cheaper and make like a combination meals for people who are on tight budgets.

My uncle/aunt/cousin likes this place. I can see why. It is near their homes and it’s cheap. It’s a family style café, Hawaiian style. Can this be compared to the chain Zippy’s? I guess, but Zippy is better in taste. Food here is mediocre to good. Teri Chicken is just slopped on teriyaki sauce on overcooked rubbery chicken. Saimin is really not that good. I guess you can go with breakfast; hard to mess that up. If you are looking for a 24⁄7 joint that’s cheap, then this place delivers. If you’re looking for quality, look elsewhere.

I «LIKE»…“LIKELIKE” drive in. When I first walked in, I felt like walking through a time warp. As I looked around, I saw vintage booths, dining tables, chairs, décor and the uniforms of the waitstaff. Then, something from a distance that was green«caught my eye.» I thought to myself, «hmm, is that green river?» Omg? It is! Boy, was I excited that we walked into«LIKELIKE.» After my flashback, my husband and I were greeted and seated within 5 minutes. Shortly after, our waitress kindly greeted us with menus. Then, our waitress brought us water and took our drink and meal order. She was very sweet, helpful and on it! Thank you, sweetie. Both my husband and I ordered the hamburger steak plate(with rice and mashed potatoes) complete meal that came with a refillable drink of your choice(green river), soup, salad, corn, rolls and a dessert. The price of this meal was very reasonable. I’m glad we ordered the hamburger steak! The patty was pretty large. It was homemade, tasty and tender. The gravy was amazing and the mashed potatoes were delicious. I knew the potatoes were made fresh because there were chunks of potatoes. This dish was, «spot on.“For dessert, we both ordered the homemade tapioca. It was subtle and«just right.» So, if you are in the mood for a cheap and delicious homemade complete meal, go to «LIKELIKE.» You will«LIKE» it!

This place had a great mom and pop feel and is relatively busy for a Thursday night! I had the hot dog royal(hotdog stuffed with cheese wrapped in bacon and deep fried) it was a little on the salty side but what can you expect there’s nothing healthy about it but it’s sinfully delicious. The hotdog royal was $ 5 which i think is a little pricy for a hotdog. My mom had the beef cutlet(btw made from real beef not a patty) they gave 3 large pieces smothered in gravy the beef was tender and seasoned well and the breading was nice and crispy. My dad had the teriyaki chicken(my favorite) the sauce had a perfect blend of sweet and salty and the chicken was tender. The service is quick. Overall this place is on the pricey side for me but the food is good, the best deal is to get the complete meal.

Took a long time for server to come and greet us and give us a beverage. We got sat at 1120, server didn’t come until 1135. We sat there for a good 15 minutes with no drinks, etc. We understand it was busy. Ordered a short stack banana pancakes, pork chops and rice and scallops with rice. Pancakes came first. Nice and fluffy with real bananas. A fave dish here. Would highly recommend! Our meals took a little longer to come but when it did… Scallops with rice, veggies and tartar sauce was ono. It wasn’t too heavy battered. It was very light and crispy outside and juicy inside. Tartar sauce was homemade and tasted good as well. Pork chops with rice, veggies, banana fritter and gravy on the side. Pork chops had good taste and was very good. Banana fritter I had no idea why it was part of that plate but hey what ever, didn’t try it. Home made gravy was good on the side, added to my likings. Server wasn’t too friendly but apologized for the long wait.

Lots of people come here and the line is always to the door. I have no idea what the allure is. They must have a following from the old timers. The food is rough and way overpriced. The last time I’ve stepped foot in here was 2 years ago. Tonight, I had dinner with the parents and they chose this place. This place is so unorganized. We were at the front of the line and had a party of 5. I saw open booths throughout the restaurant but it still took 10 minutes for the guy to seat us. No wonder the line was already forming to the door. We finally get seated and this waitress asked if we’re ready to order. We needed a few more minutes. Ten minutes later, another waitress came and took our order. I wanted the fried oysters. They no longer sell that, so I got the fried scallops instead. My dad ordered the honey dipped fried chicken but they were out of it, so he opted for the breaded beef cutlet. My husband got the roasted turkey, and my mom decided on the saimin. Everything was a complete dinner except the saimin. Complete dinners come with the soup of the day or fruit cup, green salad, starch, dessert and beverage. I always get the green river, which is their lemon-lime drink. The soup was cream of spinach and it wasn’t bad. It could have been creamier, but it was loaded with bits of spinach. They gave a decent amount of green salad. The greens were fresh and crisp. I got mine with Thousand Island dressing. The mash potato was dry and not creamy at all. It was bland with no taste. I could have used some gravy. The scallops were the worst. With the breading, it looked to be a decent size. However, once I bit into it, that’s all that it was. The scallops were so rinky dink. I couldn’t believe how small they were. I tasted the roast turkey and that was decent. It was juicy and the mash had gravy. I didn’t taste the saimin or the beef cutlet. The best item of the night was the dessert. The 3 of us chose the pineapple sherbet. It was yummy, and could give the Dole Whip a run for it’s money.

This place reminds me of Anna Millers(for those who live on the island). Came here for lunch when I realized YogurStory was closed. Pretty good choice. Cute diner style restaurant. We sat at the bar. It was pretty empty and quiet so we didn’t wait long for service. Food was what I consider to be average diner style meals. The preparation and taste wasn’t above my expectations. But I enjoyed the nice calm atmosphere and fast service. Everything reasonably priced. Great for a small lunch date. You have to try the Pineapple Freeze, Watermelon Sherbet, and Apple Pie. Best things on the menu. Apple Pie is so fresh! Not that canned filling stuff. Super good!!! Overall I enjoyed my meal. The AC was great seeing as it is mid-summer in Hawaii and it is overly hot. Must stop by to try! Great eatery and will definitely be returning again.

Hot Dog Royale aka a cheese-stuffed, bacon wrapped deep-fried hot dog on a butter grilled bun with a fruit relish. You must go to Likelike Drive-In Restaurant for this magical creation. It’s not a big hot dog, just an appetizer for a big eater, but it’s my go to along with the pancakes, fried rice with over-easy eggs, and saimin. Stop by Likelike for local-style grindz. This diner is always busy whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night and they’re a good choice for groups and famlies.

I’m not a Like Like Fan but my friends are. They keep taking us to this place. Its like going to someone’s house to eat. Its all friends and family here. Its a local business that has been around forever. The food is local style and its good. Not a fancy place. The waitresses are nice and attentive. It gets very busy in the restaurant. Lots of people love to eat here. On this visit I had the corn beef and cabbage. It was good but I couldn’t finish it all. We were not going straight home from there so we did not box the rest to take home :(I feel bad when I throw food away. You have to try this place once and you decide what you think about the place and food. Price is good for what you get. Enjoy :)

Oldie AND goodie. This drive inn has the consistency and service that has kept it open for years and years. The waiters/waitresses here are no joke — they are always friendly, know their stuff, and know how to deal with the gamut of customers from old timers to drunk 4am crowd. And while the fact that it is open 24 hours a day brings people in, the food makes them come back. I For me — this place has a solid, always at the top of my list, loco moco with the easy-over egg and lots of gravy. I don’t give away«ono loco moco» distinctions away lightly. Then there’s hash browns and other breakfast offerings.

If you’re a Honolulu local, you know Like Like Drive Inn. And if you’re not? Well, allow me to introduce you. Like Like is another must on my family’s list of places to eat when we are visiting. We have been coming here for years, and I have to admit, I really like that it’s off the grid to tourists. When you step inside, you know you’re among locals. It’s kinda dumpy on the outside, as well as in the inside, but that’s what makes it special. No frills; just good, affordable local food. We usually go for breakfast — who can pass up Portuguese sausage, rice, and toast? — but we also come here for dinner(saimin is a favorite). The waitresses here have been here FOREVER. And what I love most about them is that they will always tell you if a combination or meal is better priced than if you try to order a la carte. They are always friendly, with smiles on their faces. And there’s just a very local and family-owned feel to the place. Prices are pretty reasonable considering every meal in Hawaii is upwards of at least $ 10. There’s even a private parking lot!

Like Like Drive Inn is probably one of the last old school coffee shop that’s still open for business. If you ever eat here, this place is full of regulars. So don’t feel left out. I rarely eat here but when I do I feel like I’m an outsider. As for the food, it’s okay. Their saimin is pretty good. You may say their broth is yellow and fishy. Personally, I like the strong fishy broth. Yum! I used to love their fried rice but today it seem the fried rice was in a hurry. It was dry and not stirred well. Did I say this place is for regulars? Therefore, the waitresses are regulars. Yes, they’re veterans at this coffee shop. You won’t see too many younglings working. So be respectful. Staff will take care of you when you show good manners. The parking can be challenging. They do have free parking but stalls are very small. Bring your compact car.
