Lena’s Fab Brows

My wife is sitting besides me right now and making me write this review because she «needs the world to know how incredible Lena is».
My wife, Norma, used Lena’s make-​up service for our destination in Hawaii in May 2015. Norma loved her make up and I was blown away by how beautiful my bride-​to-​be looked when I first saw her for first-​look photo.
The make-​up held through out the day despite all the wind, tears, sweat, and hugging happened on that day.
That’s about as much as I, a guy, can say about Lena’s service. I don’t think Norma has anything to add as she has stopped looking over my shoulders.
Thank you, Lena, for making my wife the happiest woman on Earth.

If I’m going to pay $ 35 for an eyebrow wax, could you at least draw and fill it out after?
And what about a little foundation to cover up the redness before I go out in public?

Sent her a quick text, and within minutes, had my appointment in last month. Now i’m getting ready to go in again :)
Asked for natural, thick brows with just a clean up and she did just that. So glad that she was fast, so my eyebrows didn’t get irritated! Was literally out in 15 minutes. Another place I go to (same cost) takes 30 minutes… my eyebrows always get irritated for a couple days after visits from them :/​

My brows have been saved! After going to the same place for years, my previous brow stylist was slowly making them uneven. I came across Lenas’ place on Unilocal.I texted her and she was able to get me an appointment on the same day! She is available via phone, text or email. Text seems to work the best! Who calls anymore?!
Needless to say, she was quick, painless and most important gave life back to my ever-​so uneven brows. People say the price is a little high, $ 35 for first timers, $ 25 for touch ups. She is worth every penny! I love that she accepts credit cards and cash! Park in the lot, and don’t forget to pay! There’s also a bunch of street parking available.

Fab brows is an understatement. Chasing around after two under two makes it difficult to spend much time on your appearance and grooming but decided I couldn’t wait any longer and booked an appointment. SO very glad I did. She is SO fast, and does an amazing job. You can get away with minimal makeup if your eyebrows look good, and I feel like it instantly made me look more put together. I immediately booked my next appointment before I left, as well as picked up two eyebrow pens that she used on me that are the perfect tool I was looking for.

Lena was absolutely precious! Love her professionalism and personality. She’s got amazing talent and an eye for perfection. Definitely will be returning and sending clients her way!

I was having the hardest time filling my eyebrows in straight, I think I was channeling the Rock for a few days. But, once I went to Lena to get them fixed, they are on point and my morning make up routine has been cut in half because they are so neatly manicured. My only problem is making the time to see her more than once a year to keep them looking fab-​brow-​lous!

I went to Lena about a month ago before starting my new job. I had only had my eyebrows waxed a handful of times in my life and I hadn’t gotten my eyebrows professionally done in several years (yikes). Needless to say this was the best shaping experience ever. There was a lot going on that I couldn’t see as my eyes were closed. I felt waxing, plucking, and trimming in areas I had never felt before, and was afraid I was going to come out with extra thin eyebrows. I don’t know what sort of magic Lena did, but when she showed me the mirror I was loving what she did to my eyebrows! She kept it natural with enough of an arch to keep it feminine :) Now about a month later, my eyebrows are still in the best shape they have ever been. Will definitely go back for touch ups in the future!

I have really sparse eyebrows and the hair isn’t very dark which makes filling them in a must. I’ve found keeping them waxed makes the daily task of filling them quick and easy.
What I like about Lena is that she listens to you and tries to achieve the look you want. Having gone the thin eyebrow look in my younger days, I prefer a fuller look now. The waxing is always very quick, but what a difference the clean up makes! I wish I could go more often as I hate tweezing. Right now I go back every 6 – 8 weeks.
She’s super nice and fun and I won’t go to anyone else now. She’s the best!

I can’t explain what happened, I’ve been touching up my own brows with the occasional wax for years, but somehow I lost my way. No matter what, my brows just didn’t look… fashion.
Lena fixed it in about 5 minutes. I seriously thought I had gotten jipped, and she just went straight to work to get me out of there, but when I saw my brows… Simple. but SO much better! I guess she just knows what to do to make you look polished and doesn’t waste any time! She was also very friendly and nice, I look forward to my next appointment !

I’ve seen Lena’s Fab Brows before on Unilocal and the one thing that kept me from going to her was her prices. First timers pay $ 35 for brow shaping and returning customers pay $ 25 for upkeep; a little steep for an eyebrow wax in my opinion.
However, I won a free brow wax from Unilocal’s Nerdy Dancing event so it was the perfect opportunity for me to try it out.
My brows were in desperate need of some TLC and after seeing Lena, they went from drab to fab! I don’t have much hair in my eyebrows to begin with so I told Lena that I wanted to keep as much of them as possible, but they definitely needed shaping. I can tell Lena listened to me by the results; my eyebrows have a great shape that compliments my face.
Even though I got this brow wax for free, I will definitely return and pay full price. I no longer think paying $ 25-​$ 35 is too much to pay; when you get such fabulous results, it’s worth it!

After the initial shaping of my eyebrows years and years ago, I’ve never had them done professionally. Instead I always went through the process of cleaning them up every couple of days myself. It was always one of those «I’ll get it done later by someone» to-​dos.
Then I saw the groupon for Lena’s Fab Brows and the great Unilocal reviews. I couldn’t resist, and I’m happy for my weak willpower now.
Lena is amazing. Quick and efficient. I swear I could’ve fell asleep it was so painless. And when she had me look in the mirror… it was a defining moment of how could I have possibly let myself do what Lena does so much fabulously better?
For parking, I just parked in the corner of the Nordstrom Rack and Office Depot then walked over towards the building with Phuket Thai. Go into the building (doors are usually closed) and walk up the stairs and turn right. After walking into the spa where she is based from, turn left and there Lena awaits.

Unilocal 365 Challenge #173/​365
My last review for 2012 and it is about a business woman that has a reputable character of great business sense and beautiful personality. I met Lena at a memorial tweet-​up last year as well as connected not only through twitter but Unilocal,Instagram and Facebook. I also had the opportunity to meet her at the Color Run since she is an avid runner /​fitness guru :)
This past year has been a year of awakening for me. First, my pursuit for a healthier lifestyle with SOHI Fitness. Then, a search for a great hairdresser (Sheryl at Salon Blanc) and then realizing that my eyebrows needs great care too instead of crossing my fingers each time I’m at a nail/​beauty salon that they will shape my eyebrows prettily and not make me have pencil thin eyebrows that will make me look like a «chola» from the 1980’s. Thus, my decision to choose Lena’s Fab Brows.
Lena had a special going on and I decided to take up that special because 1) I’ve been hesitant on going back to a nail salon for my eyebrows; 2) I’ve been attempting to tweeze and shape my eyebrows but for some odd reason… one brow was shorter than the other; 3) I knew it was time to get some professional work done to my eyebrows (Note: I don’t have bushy eyebrows or one eyebrow).
I was able to text message her requesting for an appointment date and time and she was so accommodating! She asked me which dates and time I preferred, which worked well with her schedule because she had an opening. She gave me the directions, which is easy to find!
I got there early but she took me in right away instead of having me wait. Before she did anything, she asked if I wanted her to just shape /​touch up on my eyebrows as well as if I was allergic to anything. Then, she went to work on my brows.
You would think that just a touch up wouldn’t really do anything but I have to share that my visit with her was last month and Lena shaped my eyebrows were shaped so naturally that I still don’t have a problem up-​keeping it until I have to see her again (which I think I need to do before I head to Baltimore for training). Now, for me or any lady should know if they have quality work done… this speaks volume of the person who makes you pretty.
I highly recommend Lena if you are looking for someone to touch up, shape up or landscape your eyebrows. In addition, she doesn’t just do eyebrows, she also does makeup for weddings, events, etc (as many other Unilocalers can testify because she offered her services at Unilocal events).

It’s been over a year since I got my brows waxed. Let’s face it — I hardly have any to begin with, so it’s not at the top of my list of priorities as far as maintenance goes. But every now and then when I’m feeling girly, I’ll get them waxed. When I saw a tweet about Lena’s Thanksgiving brow wax special ($ 20, instead of the normal $ 35), I jumped at the opportunity to get a brow wax from her. She’s very easy to book — just email or text her. She’s very responsive.
I’d say this was the best brow wax I’ve ever had. It was quick, painless, and Lena is so nice and personable. She was very conservative with my brows, which is exactly what I wanted.
The next time I’m feeling girly and am in need of a brow wax, I’m heading over to Lena’s.

Hot Mama in the House!
Before you read on to my review I would just like to make clear that I’m happily married with 2 kiddos.
Lena is one smokin hot mama. Her high stilettos gave way to her entrance as I awaited my eye brow waxing. I heard it as it met the floor, before my eyes met her Asian brown eyes. When she came walking out… it was like a scene from a movie. In slow motion… I followed those stilettos, to her nicely toned legs, her tight black dress hugged every curve of her body. Just the right amount of bosom peeked out of the top of her dress. Her jet black straight hair glistened in the light. Like an art canvas her gorgeous tanned skin with colored tattoos adorned her body well. Her nice smilingly pearly whites greeted me. Yes, a woman’s body is definitely in no competition to a man’s. You see in the beginning of time Adam was made of Dirt and Eve was made out of a rib. Before a master piece a draft must be made.
I’m a FAN but not of the price!
Girls, this is the most priciest eye brow waxing I ever got, 35 smakaroos. I’ve been to Paul Brown, Wax and Lash bar, Heaven on Earth, Bobbi and Guy, I can go on and on but I’ll reiterate that it’s was the most priciest. Well, your 1^st eye brow shaping is 35 but on the next one it’s 25 smakaroos. When you check in 3 times with your smart phone, Unilocal application then it’s $ 20 on your 3^rd visit. Besides the price I’m a FAN of everything else. Especially gorgeous Lena ;) I know everything is more expensive in Honolulu.
Lena was quite easy to get a hold off. I reached her threw email and she quickly responded.
The office is located on the 2^nd floor, its above a snack shop. Lena is actually Located in Reneux Med Spa. When you get off of the elevator you can see the spa. (PAID) parking is located right next to the building. When you check in for your appointment they offer you water, coffee, or tea. The office is clean and the staff is nice.
I showed a picture to Lena on how I wanted my eye brows shaped. I admit that I don’t have much to work with but I’ve experienced miracles with 2 estheticians who sadly moved to the mainland. I’m willing to pay $ 35 for a miracle but I didn’t get a miracle that day. I wanted an arch, but not too thin. She told me that the picture that I showed that her eyebrow is darkened in by makeup.

Lena was very nice we chatted about my kids and her child, and the new Kroc center in Kapolei. Lena spent about 15 minutes on my brows. She offered me a mirror to look at my eye brows. I asked if she had any eye brow shadow to darken it in but she didn’t have it.
Since I live on the Leeward side, I probably won’t go out of my way to see her. But if you live on the Honolulu side or work in Honolulu) side then I would recommend Lena. Maybe my eyebrows were just too over done that day I saw her. She is gorgeous, friendly, and professional.

Lena does wonders with eyebrows.
I’ve taken a few guys to her and after they get their eyebrows waxed, they are like strutting peacocks (no lie!). It’s really something to see how much of an impact eyebrows can make on a person’s confidence and appeal.
I’ve gotten my eyebrows done by her twice and each time… WOW.

Lena saw me on time, listened to a few small requests about my eyebrow shape and did her magic.
Many waxers, brow specialists, etc. seem to always take off too much from my brows. lena listened to my request to keep them thicker/​more natural looking and I thank her for doing exactly that.
Lena was cool to talk with and before I knew it, she had turned me from wolf-​woman to just plain woman!

I saw online that Lena had a $ 20 brow wax special and I texted her immediately to schedule an appointment. My brows were extremely overgrown and bushy. I wore my eyeglasses one day and my boyfriend thought I was wearing a fake mustache & eyebrow set. Okay, it wasn’t that bad, but I’m Samoan and I have an aunty who seriously needs to get her beard trimmed. Sorry aunty, but someone needs to speak up and tell you the truth. You have a beard.
Back to Lena, I drove into the parking lot which is adjacent to the building she’s located in, and paid $ 1 for an hour of parking. I ended up bringing my 17 month old baby with me because my boyfriend wasn’t able to make it home in time to watch her. Lena is super cool so I knew she wouldn’t mind. That and she didn’t have a choice because the baby was already with me. In all fairness my baby is ridiculously cute and her smiling face will automatically make anyone’s day 2000% better. I should be charging a fee to have people look at her. (Help, she is holding me at gunpoint and making me write this portion of the review.)
If you’ve never been to Lena’s, she has a chair inside the Reneaux Medi Spa on Kamakee Street. It’s on the second floor above Bamboo Sky and Lin’s Snacks. It’s hidden but swanky, so in a way, visiting her is like going on a mini-​vacay. I put my baby on my lap and held her while I reclined backwards. Lena and I chatted about our kids and caught up while she artfully waxed, trimmed and plucked my eyebrows. She did a super job and I couldn’t be happier! No puffiness and I swear to the Lord above I look five pounds thinner now that my eyebrows aren’t as thick. Okay so maybe this is all just in my head, but I don’t give a damn. My opinion of myself is really all that matters in the end anyway. That and my boyfriend who agrees that my newly waxed eyebrows only improve my already hypnotic stare. I personally think he’s just grateful that I don’t have a beard like my aunty.
Unilocal 365 Challenge: #234/​365 (The Unibrow Issue)

So I needed someone to do Hair and Makeup for me for the Cherry Blossom Festival. I can do my own makeup yes, but it’s different on stage, and I wanted to look my best. I first contacted my stylist, but she didn’t do updos. Instantly my heart dropped, but then they recommend me to Lena!
Wait…what? Lena of Lena’s Fab Brows does make up and hair? Well yes and no. Yes she does makeup, and is once again «Fabulous» at that! She does work with hair stylist that do up dos as well. My hair stylist was Monae Watkins. Both of them at a team, what a dynamic duo! I gave them an idea of what kind of style I’d like, and left them to interpret! It was awesome! They worked with me at all kinds of hours for the 3 different days I needed their services.
Overall, great team, and they can come to you! Call them should you need hair and makeup for proms, weddings, or pageants. They are so funny too!
