Established in 2012.

Christa has extensive makeup and hair experience. In her eight years as a Makeup and Hair Stylist, she has worked for companies such as MAC, Aveda, NARS, Laura Mercier, and has been featured on Yahoo!, San Lorenzo Bikinis, Hawaii International Film Festival, Martha Stewart Weddings, The Wedding Chicks and more.

Christa founded Blush Makeup & Hair in 2012 to create a service for the bride who wants a lavish and luxurious experience. The Blush team is highly experienced in Bridal Beauty Styling and has done hundreds of weddings. Blush is the first Luxury Beauty Styling company in Hawaii and a top source for Bridal beauty.

Christa, the owner of Blush, has become a trusted source for hair and makeup in Hawaii. Currently an Artist with MAC Cosmetics, Christa has worked and trained with notable brands such as Aveda, Makeup Forever, and Laura Mericer.

Christa has also worked on projects for companies such as Yahoo!, Miss Hawaii USA, Honolulu Design Center, Sea Life Park and much more.

Although Christa has experience in many genres of makeup, she has fallen in love with working with the everyday woman. Being able to help women achieve the best versions of themselves is the most rewarding part of her job. To see women more confident and accepting of themselves is the ultimate goal of a makeup and hair artist.

Christa has also fallen in love with the magic and excitement of working in the bridal industry. It is so fun to work with women on one of the most important days of their lives and it is an honor to be a part of such a beautiful event.

I cant speak to the hair portion of the service but the makeup portion was great.
I used the services for my wedding day. Christa was recommended through the wedding planning company I chose. I am from MN and was nervous about selecting a makeup artist long distance. While communicating through email could be tricky, when the day arrived Christa was great, she arrived early and put my mind at ease about getting my makeup done. She checked in with me throughout the process and was very responsive to my requests as we went along. I have extremely dry skin and did not have any problems with the makeup. I am not used to wearing makeup and was taken aback by how wonderful I looked when she was done. I got many compliments on my makeup and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to have their makeup done for their wedding or any special occasion.

I am extremely pleased with Blush Makeup and Hair!
The first makeup and hair vendor I chose never returned emails or phone calls. She only responded to text messages. I found Christa on Unilocal after reading all the reviews. To be honest I was a little worried on how things would turn out, but I am so glad I chose Christa. She responded to all my emails very quickly, and asked for pictures of how I wanted my makeup and hair. She was very professional and made the getting ready portion of my wedding day wonderdul. This is saying a lot, since our wakeup time was at 1:45 am!
I will, without a doubt, go with Christa for any future special occasions.

You definitely should use Blush on your next big event!
I had about a month to help my friend plan her destination wedding on Oahu. Luckily Christa was available to come do her makeup and mine (yippee)! She was very professional, punctual and kind. I was shocked at their pleasantness despite working conditions. It was deathly hot & muggy, and they didn’t even have a finished home to do their magic in! To our great surprise and satisfaction, our makeup and hair was done on time, beautifully and even stayed fresh all night! I couldn’t believe it! It was a highlight for me despite a long (but fun) day.
If you hire Blush for your next wedding or big event, you will not be disappointed. I would do it in a heartbeat!

I couldn’t be happier with the services I received from Blush Makeup & Hair! Christa did my bridal makeup and Mary did my hair and I never felt more beautiful! The make up and hair were flawless and lasted the entire night. I have super sensitive and oily skin which were my biggest concerns but whatever Christa did, I did not have any allergic reaction and did not have to oil-​blot at all. My hair typically falls flat but Mary made me look like I had tons of volume. They were professional, reliable and so pleasant to work with! I will DEFINITELY use their services again and would recommend Blush Makeup & Hair in a heartbeat!

Christa arrived on time and was incredibly professional. She went above and beyond with the hair and makeup as she even helped with holding up my dress for me to steam; shared a room with 4 other girls and needless to say we were all fumbling around getting ready for the wedding. I was a little apprehensive about scheduling a hair and makeup session with someone who I had never met as I am from Los Angeles, but christa put my nerves at ease as she answered all my emails in a timely manner and was incredibly patient. I should note, I had emailed another makeup professional in the hawaii area and she emailed me ONCE and didn’t reply back when it came time to book (tisk, tisk on that unprofessionalism). I would highly recommend christa, she goes above and beyond! Mary, her assistant, came in to do hair and was even able to braid a beautiful hairdo on my friend at the last minute. Thanks again girls!

Christa did my makeup for my wedding exactly how I wanted and imagined. It wasn’t too heavy and looked extremely natural. I can’t brag enough about how amazing she did, and how amazing our wedding pictures came out because of her. My husband doesn’t like when I wear makeup but he absolutely loved what Christa did. She was calm and cool throughout the whole process and did whatever she could to touch me up last minute (although we were running late for the ceremony) to try and make me look and feel beautiful. When I was about to walk out the door and head to the limo, she told me to hang out so she could still make last minute touch ups! And when we got back prior to the reception I didn’t even have to ask her to touch me up again! She was extremely willing to do whatever she could to make my day more than perfect!

Lots of great things to say about Blush (Christa and Heather)! I had my makeup and hair, and then hair for my two bridesmaids from Blush, and we looked great when Christa and Heather were through with us! First of all, everything was very easy and convenient to coordinate. They were very responsive (always by the end of the day via email), and it was SO nice that they came to my apartment so I didn’t have to coordinate traveling. They had their big «suitcase» of materials/​supplies — they definitely had everything they needed with them in my apartment.
I also had a trial hair and makeup session a couple months before the wedding, which I was glad I did for the ease of mind, not having to worry about how I would «turn out» on my wedding day. A few quick tweaks after that day (changed the blush color and no hairspray), and I felt everything came out perfectly on the day of.
My favorite part was definitely how my eyes turned out. Without looking dramatic or Kardashian-​ish, my eyes really really popped. The groom also mentioned my awesome eye makeup. If I had to say one negative thing, it would just be that we went over the estimated «finish time» by about 20 – 30 minutes, but like ALL brides should, I had built in some extra time, so it wasn’t a problem at all.

I would highly recommend Christa from Blush Hair and Make-​up. She did my hair and make-​up as well as all of my bridesmaids hair for our Hawaiian wedding and I was beyond happy with how everything turned out. I got exactly what I wanted with my hair and my airbrush make-​up was flawless! Everything lasted throughout the entire day and night and I kept getting compliments on how beautiful everything was. I cannot thank them enough for how beautiful they made me look for my wedding, it was everything I wanted and more.

I HIGHLY recommend Christa with Blush. Living in California, it was difficult to know how to find a hair/​makeup specialist in Hawaii. I booked Christa for 11⁄24 and 11/​25/​2014 after reading her excellent reviews. Christa was immediately responsive to my emails and helpful with suggestions (e.g. sending her a Pinterest page of my ideas.) Christa had a lovely personality and was so talented with hair and makeup. (She has a ton of really great make-​up.) She worked with my daughter’s kinky/​curly hair, (which is very difficult,) giving her the long beautiful curls that she wanted. She helped me to achieve the natural hair and makeup look with great eyes that I always wanted, but could never do on my own. She also came to meet me the night before the ceremony for a trial, and then showed up bright and early at 5:00 a.m. to meet me the morning of the ceremony. Even though she left late the night of the trial, she graciously offered to stop by a store on her way home to see if she could find a flower for my hair. She had me ready right on time (actually before time,) and I looked and felt great throughout the day. She took PayPal, which was very convenient. My experience with Christa was truly wonderful, better than I had expected. I would not hesitate to recommend her to others!

I’m from Las Vegas so you can already imagine my struggles trying to plan a destination wedding. From the beginning, Christa was very easy to work with. She answered all my emails quickly and was flexible based on my needs. All of us, my mom, mother-​in-​law, bridesmaids and myself were beyond impressed with their quality of work. We all looked great for our pictures even though we were outside for the ceremony. Everyone only had great things to say about our hair and makeup. Christa did a beautiful job with my hair and makeup! I felt like a more beautiful version of myself and that’s exactly what I was hoping for. She is very versatile in her skills; she can do very dramatic and sexy makeup OR very natural and understated. As someone who doesn’t really wear makeup, I definitely opted for a more natural look. After our trial, I wanted to make a couple changes and she received feedback well and made the adjustments I requested. She is extremely personable and easy to talk to. I never felt uncomfortable and we had a great time chatting.
The reason I rated my experience slightly as a 3 was due to professionalism– the assistant who was supposed to do my hair the day of the wedding cancelled the night before which significantly delayed our timeline the day of the wedding because my mom and mother-​in-​law both got their makeup done, too. I finished almost two hours later than when I was supposed to which caused a lot of stress the day of the wedding and actually impacted my ability to spend quality time with my bridesmaids and family members.
Again, everything turned out beautiful– my makeup was natural and perfect and my hair was secure and gorgeous. I highly recommend Christa and her skills; just make sure you’re leaving plenty of time and maybe not relying on anyone but her.

Im a tomboy and not one to wear make up. Once my wife and I got engaged and we started thinking about every little thing we needed for our wedding. When it came down to make up I didnt have to think twice. Christa is one of my friends from college and she was the first person that came to my mind. Ive seen photos of her work and its awesome. But even without it there was no one else that I would trust as my make up artist on the biggest day of my life. She is awesome to work with and Im not just saying that because shes my friend. Shes easy going and made me feel so comfortable with make up on even tho I dont like to dress like a girl. Shes very professional from beginning to end but so fun to work with. I asked her for a natural look and thats exactly what she gave me. Almost everyone that I talked to at my wedding commented how amazing I looked and wanted to know who did my make up. I was so proud to tell them that it was my friend Christa from college. If youre looking for a make up artist for your wedding or any event I would definitely recommend Christa from Blush. Shes professional, easy going and fun to work with, and will help to make you look AMAZING!!! If she can turn a tomboy into a GORGEOUS girl imagine what she can do with girly girl.

Christa did my hair and makeup for a boudoir photoshoot and I was very impressed! I normally always do my own hair and makeup and I have to say it was the best experience ever. She has every color/​product you can imagine of the best quality!
My hair is very thick and long but that didn’t stop her from curling every last strand. It was full of body and still soft even after product. I felt super sexy!
My makeup was very sultry and truly made my pictures pop! She has an incredible talent, attention to detail and works at a great pace.
All around I had an amazing experience feeling like a sultry vixen and I would definitely use Christa again. I recommend her for weddings, photo shoots, graduations, special events or just because.

Christa did my make up for my wedding day, she was absolutely amazing! I got many compliments throughout the night and was pleasantly surprised that my makeup stayed in place for hours! At midnight, i looked as good as i did at noon. Christa is really nice and dependable. In addition to being a talented artist, she truly cares about ensuring you get the look you want.
