KT’s Auto Repair

I found KT’s auto shop on Unilocal.Keoki replaced my battery with no problems. There were no extra costs or hidden parts added! Great service! I will definitely use him again if I need any auto care.

Usually folks, including myself, come to Unilocal to complain as our only recourse to a product or service that is less than ono.
So if you find a place like Kt’s that plenty are stark raving happy about, you ask yourself: «Are the reviews for real?»
Well, at the risk of this place becoming too popular, let me say «Keoki is honest, knowledgeable, and above all does not rip you off.»
Long story short: Check engine light… code…problem…problem fixed. test drive just to be sure… a bill with a mere ½ hour labor (plus part). Now, if I had gone to a dealer, or anywhere else, they could have billed me for hours of labor, and a list of parts, and I would not have known the difference as I am not a mechanic.
And, if you have to leave your car overnight, no worries: the dogs bark if a spider climbs the wall, and would scare the crap out of even The Rock.

I tried to get a safety check from the 76 service station in Hawaii Kai but the owner there was such a jerk off and spoke in a condescending tone. I spoke to a friend about my negative encounter, and he told me about KT’s Auto Repair. I drove my vehicle there and met with Keoki. He was professional, knowledgeable and most of all FRIENDLY! He inspected my vehicle in a timely manner, not like the 76 jerk off who told me that it would take 2 ½ hours. Bottom line is that Hawaii Kai residents have a place that they can go to for auto repairs and safety checks. They have way more parking then that crowded 76 station and KT’s staff are way more personable and friendly… a definite plus!

Being a Kalama Valley resident, I was stoked to find this place! It is hard to see from the road but it’s conveniently located in the shopping center next to Thai Valley. Lots of parking and no crowds. I didn’t want to write a review to avoid attracting more people for selfish reasons but these guys deserve it :)
I was a walk-​in for my Honda’s first oil change. I was greeted by a very friendly lady at the front desk who was able to set me up with the service right away. The office looked clean and inviting with lots of comfortable chairs in the waiting area. There is also a great surf shop next door if you’re looking for kill time. I live close by, so I dropped off my car and walked home.
Keoki gave me a call when my car was ready. He was very professional and friendly when I met him in person too.
I had my car back within 2 hours which is really fast considering I didn’t have an appointment. I had free time today but I’ll probably make an appointment next time. It was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely be back! Thank you, KT’s!

So happy we found someone we trust with our cars and bonus he’s in our neighborhood! Always taking care of me and my car! Appreciate the honest and fair services we always experience here.

Another Awesome Experience at KT Auto Repair! Keoki is honest and caring! Plus his prices are great! I live in town, but drive out to Hawaii Kai for someone you can trust to work on my car! The only drawback is Keoki is a Cowboy Fan and my license plates say PKRFAN!

I went to KT’s Auto Repair in Hawaii Kai very late in the day because I really needed to replace my battery. Keoki was up to his neck with cars waiting to be worked on, but he graciously took my car and I was ready to go in less than an hour. Not only great service, but with a big smile. Great service! Keoki fixed the engine in my van and now it runs good as new! The service is friendly not like all the other rude mechanics in HK that just want your money. I recommend coming here before getting ripped off anywhere else.

I’m really glad I found KT’s Auto Repair through Unilocal!I’m from Maui and needed to find a place to fix my car breaks, and the Unilocal reviews were all positive just as my experience was with this business. Keoki was very helpful and friendly! He took his time to find exactly what was wrong with the car and kept in good contact with me throughout the time my car was in the shop. He even was happy to contact my parents on Maui and explain to them what was going to be done and how much the work was going to cost. I just picked my car up today and the breaks have never been better! I would recommend KT’s Auto Repair to anyone that is looking for great and trustworthy service!

Just got my oil changed at KT Automotive. Great service and great price! It was way cheaper than taking my car to Servco to have it done.

I’m so disappointed in this shop. Charged me $ 100 more than retail for the part replaced, as priced by OReilly auto parts, and $ 125/​hr labor. A grand total of $ 125 MORE than the price I was just quoted from the dealership for the same work. Dealerships are supposed to be the most expensive option for vehicle repairs, especially a 10 year old car. Not true in Hawaii Kai, just go to KT to spend all your money.
Part replacement was done correctly, in a timely and courteous manner. Just shocked at the price.

Been coming here for safety checks for both of our vehicles for about ten years. The mechanic (I should probably know his name…) is nice and if I have any questions he’s always very honest and sincere. Fast service too. Shopping center itself is dead but that means plenty of parking and it’s just nice to enjoy the quiet.

Keoki is the BEST, I have used this garage for many years and I find them to be FANTASTIC!!!

Been going to see Keoki for years now, back when it was Hawaii Kai automotive and owned by Randy. When I found out he was taking over and his own shop I couldn’t have been happier for him. He has worked on our cars for years and has always delivered excellent service. Very honest and upfront about everything. He’ll take the time to ensure whatever you need, him and his team are there for you. I”ve been fortunate to get to know him over the years as well. Talk story whenever i’m waiting for my car. Can trust him and his team to take care of you and your vehicle.

Just like many of the other reviewers here I’m so glad I found KT’S Auto Repair on Unilocal!Keoki and the woman working in the front of the shop are so nice and helpful! I wish I had taken my car to Keoki a month ago!
For the past month my 2002 Corolla has been having a bunch of problems, such as the check engine light coming on, my brakes making noise, and my car intermittently stopping. I took my car to 2 other places to get all of those issues fixed, and actually 1 of those places is the reason my check engine light came on again. A few weeks ago my check engine light came on, so I took my car to the place I usually go to, and they said they didn’t really know what was wrong with it, but Toyota said to change the gas cap and hopefully that’ll fix the problem. Flash forward to today, and my check engine light comes on again. I decide to look on Unilocal to see if I can find another gas station to evaluate and fix the problem since my usual mechanic didn’t know what was wrong. That’s when I found KT’S Auto, and all of the wonderful reviews. I decided to give them a shot, and boy am I glad I did. Keoki and his team were able to determine that the problem was that the gas cap the other guys put on was the wrong size! What?! That’s what was causing my check engine light to go on. They did a smoke test and everything, and they figured out that the culprit was indeed the gas cap. I’m pretty upset at my usual mechanic because I paid over $ 200 for them to put on the wrong gas cap! Keoki felt bad for me because of all my recent car troubles, so he gave me $ 100 off the price! What a nice guy! I really appreciate it!
I even had them change my oil, and if you live in Hawaii Kai there’s a coupon for their Spring Oil Change in the «Voices» section of Midweek this week. They change your oil up to 5 quarts, do a 30 point check, and give you free wiper blades. The coupon expires at the end of the month, so take advantage of it while you still can!
I’m very happy with my service at KT’S Auto Repair, and I believe I have found my new usual mechanic. Go check them out if you want a mechanic with fair prices, compassionate, and does the job right the first time.

I wish I went to Keoki before I was overcharged and taken advantage of at all the other places! I can’t believe how much they charge at the other places (cough jiffy lube, cough 76 cough everywhere else).
Keoki is a straight forward, no BS kind of guy. I was worried at how much it was going to cost and he gave me a call before he worked on it to let me know in advance how much it was going to be. Other places don’t take the time out to let you know and will just slap you with a huge bill. Everything is double and triple checked by Keoki himself so you can be sure it is up to the highest standards.
I also love the location and the hours! My car can be safely parked there and I don’t have to worry about rushing to pick it up.
Keoki saved me A LOT of money and I am so thankful I found him. My car and I will be coming back!
Let’s all stand together and fight the overcharged car shops & dealerships who take advantage of females who don’t know diddly squat about cars. LOL!

Good prices great service… but most importantly., no surprises. I went in to get a battery changed and was in and out in under an hour. I called the shop told them what I needed and they had everything ready when I arrived.
