This place charges for extra Wasabi $.50 and Shoyu $.10, which I find a little excessive when I bought a Nigiri set. 2 packets of shoyu and one container will not satisfy more than 2 people. I believe they also charge for extra napkins and chopsticks. This is not good customer service, and is surprising coming from Slovak establishment.

I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for. In this case, we paid for our sushi, which tasted like all the other Kozo Sushis. However, the customer service here was not the greatest. As we walked in to order we weren’t greeted & was the only ones in the place. When we finally got to order the cashier at the front seemed like she was upset that we were there. She took our order promptly but told me the total after each item we ordered as if she was rushing to take our order. Once received we noticed that there was no wasabi in the Maki set, nor was it on the side. My boyfriend went up to ask if we could have some since it usually comes with wasabi, the cashier then told us that she would need to charge .50 if we wanted it, even if we never received any to begin with. .50 isn’t the problem, there was no problem in paying that, but this is the first time a sushi restaurant asked for us to pay for condiments it usually comes with. Overall the food was good, just the customer service could’ve been better.

I usually order the Hurricane Maki & Nato Nigiri rolls for take-out. The Hurricane Maki is comparable to Doraku’s Red Dragon as far as taste goes. I saved their phone number for take-out orders, so I don’t have to wait over there. Their eating space is limited, therefore the three stars. They should take notes from Genki or Doraku for future references. Otherwise, I’m not complaining about their sushi at all…

It’s a love hate thing. When I crave it I’ll love you, when I don’t I’m just meh. It’s a simple and quick lunch for a busy day. The quality and quantity of the sushi here is not bad. We got the hurricane maki and dragon maki. The hurricane maki is shrimp tempura inside with salmon on top and little bits of lays bbq chips. The dragon maki is shrimp tempura inside with spicy ahi and teriyaki sauce on top. The hurricane maki was toooo sweet. I didn’t like that they put lays chips on top of the sushi. It tasted weird. It doesn’t go well with the salmon. The hurricane maki was no bad. Better than Ninja Sushi for sure, price, quality, and quantity wise.

Kozo is one of my favorite places to get sushi at a reasonable price and good quality. I ordered the Dynamite Maki and highly recommend it! It’s packed with flavor and ingredients– spicy ahi and shrimp tempura with crunchies and spicy mayo sauce! Another one of my favorites is the spicy ahi donburi– a heap of rice with spicy ahi and nori shreds.

If you are looking for cheap and good sushi fast. this kozo sushi is the place to go. I ordered cold soba, a spam hand roll(with unagi and spicy ahi sauce in it), and a philly hand roll. And it all came out to a little over $ 8. Compared to the kozo sushi in hawaii Kai, this one has MUCH better service, seems cleaner, more food selections, and better food Parking, however, is sometimes hard to find in this plaza, and the spam in my hand roll seemed pretty small(and it’s an up charge of I believe 0.20 to get the sauces in the Handroll. I also wish they have brown rice lol :( Overall, I would definitely come here again if I’m in a time crunch and craving sushi

Very inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. The food was not bad, but if you’re looking for some great sushi I’d go elsewhere. The rolls were large, but about 85% rice, I ended up having to pull the excess rice off each roll, leaving me with more than a full serving of rice left over on my plate. I got a hurricane roll which was decent, but the garnish on top, which tasted oddly familiar when I ate it with the roll, ended up being crushed up barbecue flavored potato chips which I found when eating the garnish by itself. The miso soup was very average, without too much taste. The staff however was quite friendly and the food was made relatively quickly. So if you’re looking for some quick easy take out sushi, it’s worth your time to check out kozo, but I wouldn’t recommend it past that.

Amazing for the price! Service is usually polite & friendly. Adding spicy ahi to any maki is only $ 1.40 which I think is such a good deal! Their new super don is absolutely delicious. Thank you kozo for being consistently good!

Definitely not the best sushi available by far; however, it’s convenient and affordable enough, depending on what you order. I usually come here when I have a craving for hot Udon and sushi. The hot Udon itself is honestly something you could by prepackaged at nijiya, or Don Quijote. It’s nothing special, just noodles and broth with some green onions. but it hits the spot. Also, I usually end up getting either Philly maki or egg maki as Well. Once in a while I’ll do nigiri or hand rolls, but it’s usually not filling enough. the flavor is nothing fantastic, but is decent enough. They actually have a fairly extensive menu that could fit almost any budget, from $ 2 hand rolls to $ 50 platters… it’s a good option for those looking to satisfy a sushi need or craving on the quick.

Kozo Sushi is such a convenient place to pick up a sushi platter for a party or special occasion. The sushi party platters are reasonably priced and the sushi is fresh and yummy. I love that Kozo is open during the holidays like Thanksgiving and especially New Years, which makes it the best place to pick up a platter before attending the family dinner. My family loves the Sukeroku Platter, which is a 45-piece plate with maki sushi and inari sushi. I particularly like the inari sushi because the aburage is tender and juicy. The maki sushi is ono too! I recommend calling in your order for sushi platters ahead of time, especially during the holidays. I recently ordered a sushi platter for New Years two days in advance and the earliest I could pick it up was 1:30 pm. Kozo Sushi also offers a variety of hand rolls and smaller sushi bento sets that are great for lunch or dinner. I tried their Fried Chicken Plate recently and was totally impressed. So much food for $ 6.99! What a deal. Kozo Sushi is so convenient with a number of locations around the island!

Recently, I had to bring a few dishes for a graduation potluck. Since one girl was allergic to cheese, I had to be a bit more creative. It can be quite challenging to find quick, takeout/catered dishes that don’t have cheese(& doesn’t need to be warmed up). Pizza? No. Sandwich tray? No. Costo Turkey Wraps? No! After scrolling through Unilocal,I was sold on a Sukeroku platter from Kozo. Simple, cheese-less and a perfect compliment to Chicken Katsu. It’s a plus that it’s also very reasonably price at $ 19.50. Order two hours ahead of time and you’re good!

I have been frequent customer for many years. Sushi is decent and reasonably priced. But their service stinks. Ordered different hand rolls and they did not mark them. I was unable to determine which sushi was which. Ended up biting into the natto handroll. Which I hate as much as onions. When I called to complain they trivialized it with an «oh well» attitude. That is not service that I experienced in Japan, and that is also not the Aloha spirit. Auwe.

Averagely priced sushi for average sushi. I went with 2 friends, the place seemed really busy and the cashier overwhelmed. Service very slow, I thought it was because there were so many people but I found that it was because people were forced to cram in the small area because the food prep time was slow and it seemed that many peoples orders were incorrect. I would probably wait until they get better service for me to return to this particular location.

To me KOZO is the best of them all. There rice has a good flavor, the nori is fresh, the new rolls are really good, Today I tried the fry chicken plate, witch was like a bento. It was very good. Close to my house ! LOL plenty of parking. friendly staff.

Sushi was delicious, don’t get me wrong. However, we ran into the most arrogant and rude cashier ever! It was my boyfriend’s first time ordering a dish and he wasn’t too sure what was in it and decided to order it anyway. He ordered the S-nigiri dish thinking that the«S» stood for spicy ahi. He proceeded to ask what was included and the cashier rolled her eyes while explaining the types of sushi in it like we should’ve already known! Really? I’m sorry, but I didn’t think we were expected to know. We were then a little confused on another type of nigiri and she continued with the attitude. She raised her voice and talked to us like we were idiots. That’s when we decided to NEVER come here again. Soon afterwards, an old man(who did not understand English) orders a platter for another day. He wasn’t too sure which day so this cashier continued to argue with him, saying«you don’t know what you’re talking about!» «You want to pick it up tomorrow morning or tomorrow!!!» While waiting for our food, I looked at her with disgust. I believe she knew how upset I was with the service.

I come here for convenience & for their Saba battera. They are the only take-out sushi joint that has this item. I’m from Japan, so I love that stuff. Everyone thinks it’s nasty & vinegary… but it’s comfort good to me. Their sushi platters look good & affordable. I’ll have to check it out next time. Don’t get the tempura soba — it was meh.

Sometimes you just need a platter of sushi. After all, what local style gathering or potluck isn’t complete without a large platter of maki and inari sushi? Or you know when someone is splurging on the family or it really is a special occasion when they bring out the nigiri sushi! Well, there are three spots that the come to mind when a sushi platter is in order(note: I said PLATTER, not tray!) and Kozo is one of them. It helped define the sushi scene in Honolulu with its classic mixtures of maki/inari or when the need arises, the famous nigiri. Now, sushi platters are notorious for not being the greatest and the best, and you shouldn’t go in with that expectation. You’re going to get decent sushi, nicely prepared, and set amidst green plastic decorations and in a 24″ round container with a plastic protective covering. Now, the sushi isn’t the greatest, but it is decent. It’s price is hard to beat, and when you happen to be in town, the location can often be overlooked. However, parking can be a bit of a hassle since it is located in the same mall as Sweet Home Café and a few other local eateries that help define Moilili. Like I said, it isn’t the greatest, however it isn’t the worse and with prices it is alright.

Kozo sushi is cheap, fast sushi. Meal on the run? Need a party platter? This is the place to go. For the prices, you get sizable portions. I like the spicy ahi don and it’s only $ 6.30. Their crazy rolls can indeed be cray-cray. The hurricane roll has 2 different sauces and is topped with crushed BBQ chips(probably Lay’s chips). RANDOM!
