I love spending my Saturday mornings at the Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market. Located at Ward Warehouse (8am-​12pm), there is plenty of parking, lots of great vendors and no crowds!
The one thing I like about farmers’ markets is the produce. Fresh, home-​grown fruits and vegetables. There are a lot of vendors here with fresh produce. I buy all my week’s supply of kale, lettuce, sprouts, cucumbers, bananas, etc. at this farmers’ market.
My fave vendor is, of course, MA’O Farms and its mixed organic greens. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. I also like the booth that sells fresh sprouts, which is measured by weight. And I always visit the gentleman who makes salmon belly and sweet potato lau lau… delicious! Trust me, it’s one of my fave foods here. I buy the taro poke from him as well.
There is also Thai food, cold press juices, pizzas, ginger and kombucha drinks, coffee, macaroons, fresh flowers, crepes, kulolo/​haupia, fresh coconut water, Greens and Vine’s vegan foods, Baker Dude’s sweets and breads, and much more.
A tent with tables is set up in the middle of the parking lot. There is live music to enjoy as well, which is a nice treat on a Saturday morning.
If you’re looking for an alternative to the KCC farmers’ market on Saturdays, try this one. Its convenience and size are reasons enough to head to Kaka’ako…

When I think of Farmers’ Markets, I think of KCC and Blaisdell, both of which have terrible parking situations and crowds. Kakaako Farmers’ Market is a breath of fresh air when it comes to the crowds. Hopefully, it doesn’t get too much more popular…
The Kakaako Farmers’ Market is located in the Ward Warehouse parking lot, across the street from starbucks and is held on saturday mornings. There is plenty of parking so early in the morning and it seems like the crowd is comprised mostly of locals who just want to buy their fruits and veggies and get out.
Obviously, the fruits and veggies are plentiful; you can get everything from kale and eggplants to lilikoi, soursop, pomelo and sprouts. There is a little table that sells mixed greens, arugula, watercress and different sprouts. The awesomest part is that everything is $ 8/​pound. I don’t know if you’ve ever weighed a sprout. They weigh almost nothing. You therefore can select and mix whatever greens and sprouts spark your fancy and pay like $ 5 for a whole bag!
In addition to all the great produce, there are quite a few booths of prepared foods. I wasn’t feeling paying $ 12 for fancy breakfast (even though the polenta from Hawaiian Fresh Farms sounded good). Thankfully, Nicole K. led me directly to the Baker Dude’s booth for some amazing stuffed croissants. OMG. You need a Baker Dude’s croissant in your life, maybe this saturday?
There are also flowers, kombucha, honey and sugar cane juice to be had. Everything you could possibly need is within the small area that this little farmers’ market has, without the crowds and pomp that KCC is notorious for. I like it. I recommend it. Just don’t make it crazy like KCC has become, please. :)

If I can’t make it to the Sunday Kailua market, I make the trek to town to fill up my booch jar and stock up on organic local greens. Mao organics is a MUST with a variety of kale, lettuce, and tender young greens. Each week has slightly different offerings, so you can also find dandelion greens, carrots, herbs, and beets! I like to buy the bags of beet bottoms (say THAT 3 times fast) and use them for salads. Kaka’ako market is a bit on the smaller side but local organic produce doesn’t have to be big and fancy. I’ve seen the Naked Cow Dairy and a grass fed beef booth before as well. I can’t survive without my local organic produce and this market sufficiently meets all my needs :)

I came over to the KCC Farmer’s Market for the first time with my girlfriend mainly because of the Coffee Festival that they had going on that was actually within the farmer’s market area. The farmer’s market is located in on the Auahi St. parking lot side of Ward Warehouse. You cannot really miss it because it is widely visible with all of the booth and tents that are set up. What I really love about the farmer’s market is that everything is all mostly locally grown, handled, and produced. They sell many things that are mostly food like veggies and food products to make yourself. They also of course have food to sell as well. That being in the morning, you would think there would be many breakfast selections but ironically I feel that most booths have and sell food that is for lunch or maybe even brunch. In regards to parking, there are many options; there is the parking lot area of course that is right across from where the Sports Authority/​Starbucks/​Jamba Juice/Wahoo’s area is located it; there is of course the Ward Warehouse parking lot area that is in the interior are and the parking lot garage structure; etc. The whole farmer’s market event runs from 8AM-​12PM. I believe they also have similar farmer’s market events that are in the Kapiolani Community College area around Diamond Head along with some others. It is a nice activity to do if you have nothing to do on a Saturday morning :)

I have been to several farmers markets and I find this one to be on my top three. It’s located on ward not to far from the theatre. They are open on Saturday from 8am-​12pm. I would usually venture over there after my boot camp class and buy my greens. The amount of local vendors are decent.
Goods that are sold here range from flowers, bread, organic lettuce, fruits, to handmade pasta and pork sandwiches. I’m usually on the lookout for goat cheese and I found a local farm that sells them. I purchased one herbs and garlic for 7 bucks. I did not realize till I got home, and opened the container that it was half a scoop. Maybe I should invest in owning a goat lol. The next stop was at two farm venders that sold organic lettuce and something that looked like mesculan greens.
I am always tempted to stop by their baking goods and grab a cinnamon bun drowned and glazed in sweet white frosting. I just might do that since it’s still on my mind.

A Must Do when you are in Honolulu on a Saturday morning (from 8am to 12noon). Come early before everything’s is gone. Avocados are fast selling items. They are usually sold out by 9:30am.
The Simok stand is our favorite. The lady is super nice and friendly, and always gives us a good price and free stuff. We pay $ 40 dollars for 2 shopping bags of Kale, tomatos, papaya salad, jalapeño, cilantro, mint, bell peppers, onions, pineapple, and ginger. On top of that, she gives us two more bags of papaya salads with dressing and bananas for free. She also invited us to visit her farm. We have all the organic vegetables for the entire weeks.
We also enjoy eating the pork sandwich, the croissant (Northshore baker, in the pricy side).
There are lots of people visiting this farmers market, and it has plenty of parking space.

The Saturday Ward Warehouse Farmer’s Market is a pretty nice little market. I believe it used to be located on the parking deck at Ala Moana Shopping Center, then was moved to the parking lot across from the movie theatres. Both of those places are now under construction, so they’re now located in the Ward Warehouse Mauka parking lot. Don’t worry, there’s a lot of space left in the Ward Warehouse parking structure.
As with most farmers markets, there are several produce stands where I like to get my pick of fresh local produce: kale, apple bananas, tomatoes, zucchini, melons, herbs, etc. The produce stands also offer shredded green papaya, so you can go home & make your own Thai green papaya salad. There are also several prepared food stands – a really big baked goods vendor, Naked Cow Dairy offering cheeses and spreads, some goat cheese-​based goods (they were ‘ono but I don’t know their name), smoothies, crepes, nut butters, plants and flowers, etc… In the middle of the market, a small area is set up for sitting, eating, and enjoying some shade and musical entertainment. The only vendor I wish would be there is Island Popper, but that truck is at the Pearlridge Farmer’s Market on Saturdays.
The Ward location is convenient in that there are plenty of places to eat, and Marukai Market for other groceries. If you have more shopping to do, bring a cooler and ice packs to keep you fresh goodies nice. The vendors are all very nice, and I’ve never seen it too crowded. The other shoppers all seem to be nice and relaxed (have you ever been to a stressful farmer’s market? That’s just bad!) The parking lot does get hot, so I suggest going early, wearing a big hat, and carrying a water bottle. Imho, it’s also way easier to bring your own over-​the-​shoulder shopping bag to carry all of your purchases. As of last week, they offered plastic bags, but who knows if that will change on July 1? Be earth friendly!
PS This is not the kind of farmer’s market where you would expect to get the rock-​bottom lowest prices on your goods. The products are nice, and some can be pricey (there’s a $ 9 smoothie – but it’s very good!). If you’re looking for local produce at the lowest prices, there are options – I don’t think I’m allowed to mention them here, though.

This farmers market has become a Saturday ritual for us. We do most of our grocery shopping for the week here. We’ve found enough variety of truly local producers (we ask where the vendors’ farms are) to meet most of our produce needs for a given week.
There are also some specialty items that we go back for every week. Here’s the rundown:
— Link HNL: Bob McGee’s newest venture brings you my favorite bacon on the island along with other interesting cuts of meat cured and uncured — from salamis to bier sticks to pork chops to sausage.
— Cultured Brew: delicious varieties of flavored kombucha in all shapes and sizes. You can get pints or choose from refillable glass bottles. They also have a punch card, so don’t forget yours at home!
— Taro dip guy: I never remember what the name of the booth is, but there’s a guy who sells salmon belly laulau and an assortment of dips made from kalo. Everything is vegan. Everything is delicious.
— Tomato ladies: they sell pizzas and fried green tomatoes, but we go there every weekend for their tomatoes and mozz. The tomatoes are always on point. Their mozz is fresh and delicious. Just be sure to go early for the best pickings.
— Kaimuki Superette: every now and then my husband needs their porchetta sandwich. I have to oblige him because it really is a piece of pork heaven between amazing bread. We’ve also gotten some pork loin chops from them that were so tender (thanks to my husband’s cooking skills).
There are definitely other awesome vendors there — the coffee, the eggs, the paiai, the meat. You’ll just have to check it out for yourself.

A nice casual local community farmers market without all the tourist. There isn’t as much of a selection as some farmers
Markets, but there are all the staples and a few gems. One of my choices when I go looking for fresh vegetables and flowers. People are friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful. If you’re in a wheel chair, watch out for the uneven entry and exit over some of the riser sidewalks. The speed bumps are easy going though. Try the porcini sand which, freshly pounded poi, brick oven pizza and home/​made sausages and meats.

I don’t often make it to the farmer markets as much as I’d like but my company’s main office happens to be in the Ward area & I have to stop in a few times a month on Saturdays so I get to check out Kakaako Farmers Market at the same
Located in the back parking side of Ward Warehouse (look for the tents!) you can’t miss this strip of shops setup. As you walk down you’ll see a mix of things you may be intrigued by. Honeys, salts, local fruits, veggies & snacks; restaurant pop ups, local company pop ups, EVOOs, full meals & breads, etc.
I love to see the Link set up for some of the best meat ever. These guys owned one of my favorite joints Meatball and I have loved everything they have come up with since. I also think it’s amazing how much local produce you can get on a budget and in large quantities. There’s usually a lot of restaurant pop ups that leave me drooling as I try not to purchase a full meal but will one of these days!
I’ve been on a fruit & veggie binge, especially homemade smoothies so I find the fresh local veggies to be a steal compared to what I would spend at the grocery store for who knows what. This last time I got a weeks worth of kale, bananas, cilantro, lettuces and beets for under $ 15. I also happened to run into one of my favorite cold pressed juice companies JugoLife which was perfect for my morning workout. I also saw Kaimuki Superette selling a beautiful porchetta sandwich and had I not already stopped at their main location for breakfast, I would have shoved that deliciousness down my throat. The pastry stands are also tempting!
I like the simplicity of this market; get the job DNS and still have the day. Highly recommended for local home cooks and foodies.

Like that it’s low key and has local farmers selling their products. Would appreciate more variety of local foods though. Will try coming again. In a more positive note, the salmon belly Lau Lau was delish!

My sister and I went here the morning of husbands 30^th birthday party BBQ so we could get some fresh produce to throw on the grill. We did find some pineapple, zucchini, carrots, and mushrooms. however, the best part of this particular farmers market was the pastries! The breakfast croissants to be precise. I had ham and cheese, and my sister had both a mushroom and an artichoke filled croissant. All three were delicious!
A fairly small, yet nice farmers market. Next time I go, I will arrive earlier so maybe there is more variety on the produce.

I used to go to the KCC Famers Market every Saturday when we visit Oahu. However, it was getting too crowded and I get very frustrated if I have to stand in line for 15+ minutes. After I buy and eat whatever I was standing in line for, I would tell myself that it was not worth the time standing in line. I found out about the Kaka’ako farmers market when I was walking around the Ward Center, so I told my husband that we’ll go to this farmers market instead of KCC’s since it’s the same day and time. This farmers market is a lot smaller than KCC and definitely a lot less crowded. They had a great band playing and a pretty large area to sit and eat. I liked the little food stalls, you can see the prices and what they are selling and not walking through the crowd yelling «excuse me, pardon me, can I get through» like what I would do when I’m at KCC. There was a pizza place that made my sons thin crust pepperoni pizza in less than 10 minutes, my husband got a great cup of coffee from Daylight Mind Coffee and we got some macadamia nuts to snack on while we walked around. This is definitely on my list and I will be removing KCC’s Farmers Market.

It’s not as earthy or diverse as the one’s on East Hawai’i Island, but beggars can’t be choosers and I live in overpopulated Honolulu, so yes, this market ain’t that bad! I like it because it offers top quality! You can expect the following:

What also separates this place apart from the rest is the live Hawaiian music! Nothing like soothing slack-​key sounds with the morning Hawaiian sun! Free too! Plus, it’s located in convenient Ward Warehouse parking lot (Mauka side), so much to do afterwards, if you so choose. Yup, I definitely recommend this somewhat high-​end outdoorsy market called…
KAKA’AKO FARMERS’ MARKET!
It’s not the biggest — only two rows– nor is it the best, but it’s definitely good enough and the offerings are of top-​notch! I’m here shirtless, twice a month. Heck, why not… tan the boobs and shop… Eat my sticky buns and listen to classic Hawaiian tunes… Winning!

With KCC Farmers’ Market becoming more of a tourist attraction, I am finding myself at Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market (Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) much more often. With plenty of available parking, several produce and ready-​made food stands, live music, and an area to sit and enjoy, Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market should be on everyone’s Saturday to-​do list!
The Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market is located in the parking lot of Ward Warehouse (along Auahi Street). Although several of these stalls are blocked off for the duration of the market, there is no shortage of available parking in the surrounding area! If you want the freshest produce, I highly recommend going earlier to beat the crowds. If you would prefer to stroll casually through the market and stop for lunch, anytime will work! Despite being a popular destination, I have never found the Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market unbearably crowded like the KCC one.
In addition to local farmers who offer their fresh produce, there are also vendors who sell baked goods, coffee, dim sum, flowers and succulents and other fun and tasty treats! Among the various vendors who set up shop here, my favorite is Ono Seafood! Although a trip to the actual Ono Seafood in Kapahulu could save you a few extra bucks, I always relish my tako poke bowl after a successful trip to the farmers’ market!

The parking is plentiful and the crowds were nonexistent, though it was rainy on the day I went. At any rate, it is a lot less hectic here than it is at KCC! There were tons of variety in terms of sellers– you could shop around to find the best product and price for you on lots of items. There were also lots of new vendors I haven’t seen at other markets. They were all so friendly and I loved trying the new foods and smoothies they had that day. There were lots of sellers for many foods– not just fruits and veggies, but condiments, jellies, etc, and even a meat seller… plus some ready made foods! Great variety!
I will be heading back to this market with a big bag in tow next chance I get for some fresh local groceries!

This is definitely my favorite farmers market of all time… I must say they had upgraded with more vendors to choose from since my last post.
Many fruit & veggie vendors located on the ends of the market. It doesn’t matter which side you choose from to start your adventure because each time you’ll end with a fruit and veggie vendor. (unless you leave and exit in the middle, then you just made things more harder and complicated for yourself.
They have free local entertainment for your listening pleasure and seats to sit back and enjoy whatever your heart desires and dares to choose to eat. My two, always go to spots are usually Baker dudes which bakes fresh every time. I seriously haven’t tried anything from here I didn’t like and let me tell you, i complain a LOT! & to end my sweet craving I go to life is sweet with many choices of macarons to keep me happy and sane throughout the day.
they also have other vendors such as Chinese dim sum, local drip coffee, crepes, pizzas, pastas, oysters, healthly vegan and vegetarian eateries and your typically peanut butter & honey selections.
This place was a best kept secret for farmers markets since it wasn’t crazy packed and crowded, but now that it’s getting more recognized, im more happy that people can enjoy what I do every Saturday morning!

My Saturday morning routine has officially been changed as we’ve added an early morning trip to the Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market to the family itinerary! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to visit my neighborhood farmers’ market and it did not disappoint! Located in the parking lot at the backside of Ward Warehouse (think Menchies), the Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market offers pop-​up tents full of fresh locally grown produce, baked goods, honey and cheese, and a variety of hot plates to fill your belly.
We bought a smoothie and pastries for the kiddies, a giant omelet and some amazing Naked Cow Diary cheese to take home. I spent about $ 20 on vegetables and I’m always blown away by how cheap produce is compared to the supermarket. I swept up bok choy, beets, cilantro, basil, okinawan sweet potatoes, kale, watercress and two kinds of lettuce. I’ve been wanting to fill my family’s dinner plates with more veggies and having a fridge full of local fare gives me zero excuse to start cooking!
My kids enjoyed sitting under the tented communal eating area and listening to the live Hawaiian music. I get that everyone loves the KCC farmers’ market but I can’t deal with the headache of crowds fighting over produce and food. Bigger is not always better people. Go here instead and make sure you bring a big cart or lots of Earth friendly recyclable bags to carry home your locally grown goodies. It gets crazy hot so start early and be there at 8am when the market opens.

It’s kind of nice to have a smaller, less crowded farmers market closer to home!
This farmers market, right on the road side of the warehouse, has all the great farmers market regulars: Ma’o Farms, Onda Pasta, Fields of Aloha, GingerKool and more! It is a great place to get a fresh and delicious bite to eat, find a refreshing drink, buy beautiful flowers (potted or cut) and do your grocery shopping for the week!
You can find pizza, poke bowls, omelets, pasta bowls, burgers, etc for a brunch meal while you are browsing! You can also sip on smoothies, iced coffee, ginger drinks, sugar cane juice and more!
Make SURE to bring cash, because most vendors operate on a cash-​only system. I know Onda pasta accepts credit cards but they might be one of the only venues!
Also, no dogs allowed in the Farmers Market area to respect the food there. Kind of a bummer for us dog owners but I understand the health risk!
The only real drawback is lack of parking. This didn’t used to be a problem when the lot across from the movie theatre was open but now that they started construction there, there is a lot less parking and it takes longer to get to. BUT, when you finally stroll down that farmer’s market aisle, it is worth it!
Buy local, eat healthy and shop at farmer’s markets!

Fantastic farmers market that sells local foods to fruits and veggies, flowers and locally made furniture out of monkey pod wood.
If you find yourself in the concrete jungle of Waikiki or Honolulu on a Saturday make your way to this market for a refreshing locally made lime aid or have Loko Moko lunch.
About a 30 minute walk from Waikiki or you can take the local bus, it’s across the street from Ward’s Market.
