Menchie’s

Menchies was my go-​to spot when I was pregnant with my son, which would possibly explain his love for Menchies as well.
As a treat for him being so good at his doctor’s appt (after he had a drama break down about getting shots lol), we brought him to Menchies. He loved the fact that he could sample all the flavors and the fact that you could put your own toppings. They didn’t have as much flavors as they used to back then, but I was surprised to see that they had a honeydew flavor and it was quite yummy. Of course, my son being the honeydew lover, he went for honeydew & fruit punch swirl. He wanted to put every single toppings there was to offer, but mommy didn’t want him to have a major sugar rush, so he settled with rainbow sprinkles, strawberries, and those strawberry popping bubbles. Prices went up a bit, but for myself, my fiancé and my son, we spent about $ 16 so it wasnt so bad. I’m sure my fiancé’s one was most expensive cause he gives that cup no mercy at all.
The staff were really nice, greeted us as soon as we got in, quickly offered us sample cups, and greeted us as we left and they did this with every customer that came in and out.

Menchies is a pretty typical self server froyo place. They have good flavor selections, the place is kept clean, the toppings are alright, and the service is fine.
Nothing special or spectacular, but it gets the job done.

Not the creamiest of yogurts ive ever had but overall pretty tasty. I don’t think this place is overpriced like some may thing .50 $ and ounce is a pretty reasonable price.
Im always put too many toppings and I went with my significant other and myself and it only cost around 10 $ total. Not too shabby.
Also this is a prime location as its right across from the movie theater. Catch a movie, get some violently buttery popcorn. Then finish the night with some Froyo win win

I was last here about a year ago. Apparently, they have jacked up the prices to a nose-​bleeding rate of $ 0.59 per oz. Regardless of whether they are just trying to pay rent, or or trying to squeeze out extra profits, no amount of extra toppings can justify this price. This is the last time you will see me at this place.

Great place to go for a late night snack or to bring the kids for a treat. Always a great selection of flavors and toppings and freshly made waffle bowls. And if you are watching your calories, there are a few low cal options. It gets pretty busy weekend nights– so much so that the outside bench is full with patrons enjoying their treats. The biggest downside is the price– a typical bowl is at least $ 5 @ 0.50 an ounce– so you need to supervise your children if you are letting them pull the lever on their yogurt. I’ve had my son do it without me watching me taking way too much but once it hits the bowl, YOU BOUGHT IT!

So many new flavors! I really enjoyed the Cinnabon flavored fro-​yo w/​cheesecakes bites & sliced strawberries. I like that they always change their flavors from time to time. They give out little sample cups so you can try them out. We get so full from trying all of them before we even get to make our own lol. I love this place for frozen yogurt over any other ones out there.

I love this place! I am a fan of their original tart but sometimes I change it up with their Watermelon sorbet! I usually top it off with sprinkles and Mochi! Staff is always friendly here too!

I haven’t been to menchie’s in a very long time. Many different flavors or soft serve yogurt with all topping available.
Atmosphere: Located at ward plaza on corner. Inside seating available.
Service: They offer sample cups so that you can try all the flavors. Also have rewards points so sign up for a free yogurt!
Yogurt: What else can I say? The yogurt flavors say it all couple of the new flavors like churro, chocolate mountain… All deserve a fair shot. If nothing suits you, plain is always safe!
Intangibles: Love yogurts come here!

Update from my previous review:
They really didn’t have any good flavors this time. In fact, my first four samples were all unpalatable.
My father also noted that the windows were filthy. It doesn’t take much work or time to clean them. It looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. In fact, even the eating area seemed dirty. Makes the food even more unpalatable.
I used a 50% off coupon, which they accepted without discussion so that was professional of them.
At least they had a wide variety of toppings and did not appear to be running low on anything.
Summary:
Disappointed with my last visit. I generally hold this place in high regard. I hope they make a few changes to get back to being great.

I received a Menchie’s gift card of $ 5.00 from an anonymous person who also attended a gathering at Dean’s Drive Inn in Kaneohe. The gift card was part of a prize. It was clothes pinned to a glass cup and there was a pen with a flower decoration. Thank you to that individual. I finally made use of the gift card.
I entered into Menchie’s establishment in the afternoon along with a new friend. We were greeted right away by the employee working on that day. The female employee even asked us if we wanted to try some samples. I tasted a couple of the flavors. I ended up getting a cup with the cheesecake and original tart swirl. I added on toppings like chocolate chip, strawberries, and I think almonds or peanuts. I used the gift card to pay majority of the transaction and paid the rest via credit card or was it cash… I can’t seem to remember. LOL.
I would have taken a picture of my frozen yogurt but cellphone needed to be charged up. I had asked the employee if I could charge up my phone and she said it was okay. I found an outlet near the window and plugged in my charger as well as my phone.
My friend then ended up writing on the chalkboard in different color chalks. The words read HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEANA. LOL. Yep it was my birthday on that day.
It was my first time stepping foot into Menchie’s at Ward Warehouse and I noticed during my short time at the establishment that the store was clean. If there was a mess I had witnessed the employee clean the tables and wiping down the counter area as well wiping down the cabinet doors. If I am ever in the Ward Warehouse area again and craving for some frozen yogurt… at least now I know on where to go for some yogurt.

The tastiest froyo EVER! From flavors like salted caramel to double chocolate fudge and New York cheesecake to cookie butter, followed up with traditional toppings like marshmallow cream and hot fudge to more modern ones like lychee poppers and mochi bits. What is not to like?! Priced by the pound — and if you have an iDcard you get a discount every time. Super friendly staff in spite of the constant crush of folks. It’s always clean, but there the bathroom is faaaaaar away. So come prepared — and enjoy yourself!

I love this place and I am not really a yogurt person! I have been here at least a half-​dozen times and on each occasion, they have had many new flavors. I love sampling and trying new mixtures and toppings and this place has plenty. I cannot pass up the chocolate dipped waffle cones either. Last night was a surprise because they had new Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup crumble cones — super yummy!
I also like the cheery, family-​friendly atmosphere and the easily findable location, just across Dave and Buster’s, at the corner of Ward Warehouse. Parking is okay during most times but the weekends do get a bit crowded. All in all, it is worth the trip!

Stopped in this evening to grab my little some FroYo as a treat for trying new foods at dinner. This was perfect. They have many flavors and toppings to choose from. 54 cents and ounce plus tax so it was relatively inexpensive.

I haven’t been here in so long. I stopped by on a Friday for dessert. Located in Ward Warehouse, the place is very busy. There are some benches outside for the overflow of people. There’s also a cute chalkboard for people to write notes on.
On this trip, I had cake batter (gluten free) and reese peanut butter cup flavors. The toppings include cereal, desserts, fresh fruit and the like. Like most yogurt places, the price is by weight. It can get pricey — so make sure you don’t go overboard.
Ask the cashier for sample cups to try the various flavors.

Menchie’s is our favorite frozen yogurt establishment. The dispensing area is clean and well kept and all of the machines are usually working. They also seem to offer a larger variety of flavors compared to their competitors. The staff is always friendly and efficient. We’ll be back for sure.

I hadn’t been here for a while, but stopped in with some family because we’d just finished dinner nearby and someone was craving froyo. Although I still think their yogurt is fine, it seems their topping selection is kinda limited now, & they’ve really let the place go in terms of the facilities.
The entire time we were there, the fridge that holds the pre-​packed froyo was making a loud rumbling noise, & only had one small container of froyo in it. Also, the water fountain was broken so there was no water available…& we’ve really come to expect complimentary water at all ice cream /​froyo shops (especially after eating so much sweetness). On top of that, half of the lights in the seating area were not working… and a majority of the perimeter lights along the windows were not working… so it was quite dark.
Service-​wise, the gal at the counter was nice enough, & she kept the place tidy… but it’s hard to overcome such basic maintenance issues. Might not be back until they get things straightened out here.

Came here after a happy hour dinner weekday night. We beat the rush because right we finished our froyo concoctions, the crowds of people starting coming in!
Sampling cups are aplenty! Try as many flavors as you want before you are stuck with whatever you end up squeezing into your cup. Their fruity flavors were awesome! They also have syrups and plenty of toppings to choose from — so load them up!
I didn’t even know about this place and I had never heard of it (guess it’s on the mainland too!). Not too bad for a froyo place, a good place to get your fix if you’re craving!

Whenever I’m in the Ward area and the fro-​yo craving kicks in, I enjoy visiting Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt. I don’t see too many locations on Oahu – and even here on the mainland – but I do enjoy the refreshing flavors that are bursting with subtle sweetness. The flavors at Menchie’s aren’t usually overly sweet or strong – and not as rich and creamy as ice cream – but I like their velvety texture and smooth consistency.
This store is always fun to visit because it’s normally very clean. The employees have always greeted me, asked me if I had any questions and gave me several sample cups so I could try a variety of flavors. There’s always a great assortment of yogurt flavors at this Menchie’s, and though I’ve been here several times, I still haven’t tried them all.
It can get busy at this store during the night, especially on the weekends when people are out and about going to dinner or catching a movie at the theatre right across the street. But there are some tables and chairs inside the yogurt shop so you can enjoy your frozen concoction right there.
Here are some of my tried-​and-​true favorites at Menchie’s:
«Peanut Butter Cup»: Because I’m a diehard fan of peanut butter and chocolate, I definitely like this combo! It features a good blend of both peanut butter and chocolate flavors. The peanut butter flavor is a little light, but there’s still a good mix of both. If this flavor is available when I go to Menchie’s, I get it every single time.
«Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll»: This fragrant flavor really did smell like a fresh Cinnabon! Cinnabons are one of my favorite mall snacks, so I really did like the sweet, subtle cinnamony fragrance when I included this flavor in my cup.
«Creamy Peanut Butter»: I love straight-​up peanut butter, so I am sure to get this flavor whenever it’s available. Though I prefer super strong flavor when it comes to peanut butter, I do enjoy this sweet and light fro-​yo take on the essential spread.
«I Dream of Cookies ‘n Cream»: Cookies ‘n Cream is one of my top ice cream flavors, so I’m always sure to get the fro-​yo version if it’s available. I really do like OREO cookies, and this flavor reminds me of my favorite cookie in sweet yogurt form.
«Über Fudgy Brownie Batter»: This chocolaty flavor is one of my favorites because it actually does remind me of a rich, fudgy brownie batter. I get this flavor if it’s available over plain chocolate because brownies are one of my favorite snacks. Though this flavor is still light and smooth, it is richer in taste than some of the other flavors. This flavor is a must-​get for any chocolate (or brownie) lover.
«The Art of Original Tart»: To balance the usual mix of sweeter flavors in my cup (instead of fruity flavors), I usually get a small dollop of this «Original Tart.» Just a little bit, because let’s face it – all the candy and cookie bits that I add to my fro-​yo taste better when the yogurt flavors are sweeter as well! If I’m getting the «Original Tart» flavor, I usually top it with granola and more subtly flavored toppings.
«Devil’s Food Cake»: I do love devil’s food cake cake, so getting this flavor was a no-​brainer. It was truly love at first bite! The flavor was sweet and chocolaty, and I always get a little bit of this darker-​hued flavor if it’s in the daily rotation.
«New York Cheesecake»: I do like this flavor because it really embodies cheesecake in its purest form. You get that fragrance and taste of cheesecake without it being overwhelming, which I appreciate.
«Red Velvet Royale»: I tend to be a little doubtful when red velvet is not in cake form, but Menchie’s version of red velvet fro-​yo isn’t bad. The red velvet taste is very light, and if I have enough space in my cup after getting my must-​have flavors, I put some of this one in.
«Pecan Praline»: I don’t believe I’ve tried this flavor yet, but since I like pecans (and pralines), I’m sure I would like this nut-​infused flavor.
«Cinnayum Bun»: I’m not quite sure how this flavor differs from the «Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll,» but I’m eager to try it one day and find out!
«Cookie Dough Monster»: I recently developed a liking for «Cookie Dough» ice cream, so I’m curious to see what this fro-​yo flavor would taste like. I’m sure it’s less rich and creamy than its ice cream counterpart, but I’m excited to try it one day anyway.
«Ice Cream Sandwich»: I have no idea what to expect when it comes to this flavor – does it include a mix of chocolate and vanilla? – but since I do love ice cream sandwiches, I’m eager to try it during a future Menchie’s visit.
«Mudslide Pie»: My perfect «Mudslide Pie» features a great crust, chocolate flavor and hot fudge or caramel drizzle. I’m not sure what this flavor entails, but I would definitely sample it to see what it tastes like before including it in my cup of flavors.

Ever since most of the yogurtland locations closed down, this is my go to place for froyo.

Menchie’s is located at Ward warehouse. It’s right across the street from DNB and Bucca’s. There’s ample free parking so parking won’t be an issue.
2. Interior
There are several tables located inside. If those tables are taken, there are benches outside.
3. Food
The yogurt here is great. There’s always something new to try here. There’s also various toppings to choose from.
4. Service
Upon entering, you’re always greeted with «welcome to menchies.» I like how they have the sample cups laid out for you so you can sample as much yogurt as you like. I know some other yogurt businesses limit the amount of cups you have.
