Kaiser Permanente

Since Obama care I have had to argue with my Ob-​gyn at Kaiser for annual pap testing (this past July). They are unprofessional, refuse to write prescriptions, and give referrals to the worst places I have experienced (before Kaiser – when I moved here). My take is they are lazy.
Only good thing they did was get epi pen to me since I have a shellfish allergy… outta all the insurance and copay visits.

K. I’ve been with kaiser my entire life. Literally, I was born at kaiser and had my fill of seemingly countless appointments. By the time I was 15, my kaiser card was black from all the times my card was «swiped» through their carbon copy machine thing. I would say for the most part, I’ve enjoyed my experiences. Until last week.
I will be traveling to south east asia this summer. I’ve been to the travel clinic at kaiser serval times before and have never had to go to the business office to make a deposit before… I didn’t even know where the business office was! My appointment was scheduled for 10:20. Obviously, being the idiot that I am, I thought that I’d be in and out in 10, maybe 15 minutes after getting a couple shots. Nope. 2 hours. It was a complete waste of my time. That being said, the doctor I saw was really apologetic, but it really wasn’t her fault at all.
Also, I lived in so cal for 3 years. It took forever for me to figure out how to get to see a kaiser physician there. You’d think it would be pretty transferable information since kaiser in Hawaii should be on the same system as the kaiser in so cal. Def not the case. Just because they are the same name means nothing.
Side note: I had a cough that wouldn’t go away for about a month in Thailand one summer. I was in and out of a Thai hospital in less than an hour. I had blood work and X-​rays done and I got to see a doctor and pick up medicine. All of that in less than an hour. It is simply unheard of here.
