Jenny Face & Nail

I redeemed a Groupon today at Jenny Face and Nail for a hydra facial, and what a phenomenal experience. First, I called last week and identified myself as a Groupon customer, and left a message and within a short while she returned my call and booked my appointment. It’s sometimes the simple things, a kept promise, that counts! This is unlike experiences I’ve had with other Groupon vendors that don’t call you back (um…Oda Ohana Chiropractic and Therapeutic Massage, take heed). She said she would text me directions to her shop and she did. It can be tricky to find. It is part of Makaloa Plaza, with the entrance of the parking area on the Mauka side of Makaloa St., across from Walgreens on Makaloa St side. Jenny Face and Nail is facing the parking lot, and is to the right of the parking attendant stand.
Inside, there is a tiny waiting area, I think with one chair. Jenny greeted me right away, and took me just past the privacy curtain, to another seating area where she asked me to complete some general client information. Here, she explained the procedure I was about to receive, which I appreciated because I’ve never had any type of «abrasion» or «skin-​peeling» process done.
Then she took me to the room where the magic would happen… I was asked to put on a drape and place my personal items in a basket to store under the bed. Jenny made me feel comfortable and assured me to let her know if I wasn’t comfortable. When Jenny started, I knew instantly that she knew what she was doing. She started with applying pressure to some points on my head and back of my neck. She is quicker in her strokes than the typical esthetician, in my personal experience. My hydra facial started with cleansing, then exfoliation followed by steaming. The steaming seemed to last quite long and the steamer must have been set on a timer as it shut off automatically. Whew! What a relief, to feel the coolness of the air conditioner on my face! Jenny remained attentive (even though she was managing another treatment with someone else, as well) and without interruption or delay resumed my treatment. She started the hydrotherapy, testing a section of my forehead first to see if I was comfortable with the suction, and I was. After that she placed a hot cloth on my face and followed with some soothing lotions and a facial massage. She then applied a mask on my face and left that on for what seemed to be around 15 minutes or so. At some point she massaged my arms and hands. I felt my feet falling asleep which reminded me I could have used a bolster for my ankles or knees. At last she returned, and peeled off the mask, finished with more soothing lotions, and applying pressure again on parts of my head, face and shoulders.
A most enjoyable service! Highly recommended!

Something fishy about this place. I was going to buy a HydraFacial for my wife, and I saw this great deal on groupon for Jenny Face and Nail. I was about to buy it, but I had a hunch so I decided to check their references. The company that makes HydraFacial MD machine has a list of authorized providers of HydroFacial treatment right here:
. Please note that Jenny Face & Nail is not listed. There are other places in Hawaii, but not this one. This can only mean one thing. She is probably marketing a cheap Chinese imitation of HydraFacial machine as the real thing.
I even called the company and they confirmed that she is not using the HydraFacial serum that goes with the treatment, because they definitely don’t sell their specially formulated serums to businesses that are not authorized providers. They also said that this business has not received any training from their company.
Well ladies, if you want to pay on Groupon for a cheap imitation of HydraFacial, and put God-​only-​knows what Chinese serum knock-​offs into your skin, then I say go right ahead, and purchase the Groupon.

Hydrafacial by Jenny was excellent! Included extractions, hydrafacial, mask, etc wish I discovered her earlier! Clean, professional and great skin care advice. Really good price especially since other places don’t include the extras with the hydrafacial. I have already bookedy next appointment! A hidden gem! So glad I found her!

Used my purchased 120 min Hydrafacial and Rejuvenation treatment coupon. Shop is located adjacent to the back parking lot of the building. Very prompt, clean and friendly. She explained the whole process of the treatment prior to starting. Didn’t see any nail services, but the facial was great. Parking was $ 1.00 for the 2 hours that I was there.

Did hydrafacial with a Groupon. Jenny was right on time — no wait. Very professional, great treatment. I like that she didn’t try to sell me on products or more services, and she advised me on my skin type, etc. Parking is easy and free, and the place is simple, clean and pleasant. I will go back.

Great place to get facials done. Don’t let the location and place fool you. It might not be as fancy as other places, but jenny (the esthetician) is great! She is really friendly and the service there is just awesome and she’s cheap compared to other places. I’ve been going to her for years and I had never had a bad experience.
