JenJa Hair Salon & Extension Bar is Honolulu’s newest & hottest Up-​Scale Hair Salons & ONLY Extension Bar in town. Offering a variety of salon and hair extension services!

Offering a unique salon environment, combining the highest professionalism with an approachable attitude that indulges both male a female clients equally. Located in the financial district/​downtown neighborhood of beautiful Waikiki Hawaii. Our 1000 square foot salon is part of the prestigious Davies Pacific Building located on the ground floor, with free garage parking for all of our valued patrons.

Our goal is to welcome clients with a laid back unpretentious vibe while providing them a stylish, contemporary atmosphere.

JenJa cares deeply about the environment, and we strive to live and work responsibly by recycling our paper, glass, and plastic and installing energy efficient light bulbs throughout the salon.

Jen’s work has been seen on; A&E, Sundance Film Festival, Disney’s High School Musical, Cirque de Soleil, Inside Edition, Maxim Magazine, Michael Vincent photography & etc…

Jen also worked for MAC in Las Vegas at the Forum Shops in Caesers Palace. After working in Las Vegas for almost a decade, she became a go to stylist for Las Vegas wedding chapels, creating breath taking wedding hair and make-​up styles for bridal parties!

Jen opened a very successful hair salon in Honolulu Hawaii in 2012 and after two years and over 50 plus 5 star yelp reviews and a stellar reputation, she sold the salon.

Jen’s work earned her the Hairstylist Of The Year nomination for RAW natural born artist in 2013, and she was voted a semi-​finalist for the state of Hawaii.

Her love for education and talent for hair extensions has led her to partner with Babe hair extensions as a national educator.

I went by the salon in Saturday after several attempts to call and its empty!!! Doors are locked and all chairs removed. Don’t buy the Groupon.

I had an appointment scheduled for 4⁄23 and jen was a no show… Not even a call or email to let me know she wasn’t going to make it. Another stylist was there and stated that she had «checked out» and was moving yo Vegas. I just think it’s very unprofessional to have someone take time out of there day and not even have the courtesy to let me know. I don’t know how a business owner think that’s acceptable. SAD!

I visited Christian for a desperate trim. I went in in my scrub after my harsh hours of acute care career. But of course he has no clue have background salon (management) experience over 10 years and watching his every move. A tall guy with cowboy-​esque style. He greeted me warmly and sat me in his chair and offered me apple cider. He washed my hair and gave me hair treatment (he used paul mitchel– my least favorite product, nevertheless hair felt better than when i walked in). He sat me back down at his chair and recommended how much length i should cut off and started trimming. Then i believe he had a vision, he asked me for a permission to give me high layers. I trusted him and let him do his thing. He kept me entertained with his humor which made the cutting process a lot faster. When he was done with cutting i was pretty satisfied. I would give him five stars for cutting but he wasn’t the best at styling. I came home and re-​styled my hair and i was extremely happy with the style he gave me. Thank you Christian.

1st. I’m a few weeks late on my review BUT. better late than never! Jen did an AMAZING job on my color. I showed her my inspiration and she completely fulfilled my vision. This was my 1st time going blonde and I was skeptical and afraid of damage. Jen eased my fears and made me feel confident that my hair would be alright! I walked out of the salon not only looking but feeling like a better person, and I believe everyone should have this feeling when they leave the salon! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have friends that told me they are going to come see you when they move to Hawaii! Really awesome person and awesome atmosphere!

Jen is such a talented hair stylist/​beautician. I use to be her assistant when i lived in Hawaii. I now live in Seattle. I’ve watched her work her magic. I’ve watched ladies come in with rainbow doos and walk out with a new sexy doo. I’ve watched ladies walk in with short curly hair and walk out with long smooth silky looking hair. Jen has a very big heart and a strong passion for what she does. I miss you Jen xoxoxo Keep doing your thing. You are very blessed.

She is my hair wizard. I haven’t colored my hair in like 4 years because I always messed it up or the person who did it, didn’t do it right. The style I chose was a red and blonde ombré (red on top and blonde tips) and she ROCKED IT! It’s so perfect. I’m going to try a new style in a couple of months from her too! Next I may do a rich brown or burgundy/​maroon red with some purple.
It was my first time at her new salon too. It looks so amazing. My favorite part is the photo booth. That is like the most perfect way to showcase your new hairstyle! So cute and I’m so impressed that she did almost the entire salon by hand.
I’m so grateful and blessed to have met her which was by sheer chance on Facebook! Love you Jen! I absolutely look forward to our next hair adventure together: P

Before I found Jen I had the same hair stylist for 15 years. I would only get my hair cut when I flew back home to Pennsylvania. One day I was desperate to get it cut and was lucky to find Jen. I have difficult hair, half is curly, half is straight, and it is all very thick. Jen is not only professional, funny, and extremely talented but she has the ability to make you feel comfortable at her shop. She explains what she’s going to do and listens to me when I have concerns or want something different. I highly recommend her to all of my friends and wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone else on the island. I haven’t been back to my former hair dresser since.

The first time I went it took Jenja FOUR hours to do a partial highlight and a cut. And she had to leave part way through the appointment to pick up her daughter which is extremely unprofessional. She had her assistant do the toner which made me very uncomfortable since she did not know what she was doing. The highlights she did were brassy and I had orange streaks running through parts of my hair. However, I decided to give her another chance and when I showed up, the door was locked and then I see I have a voicemail from her that she has to cancel the appointment. When I called her she said she was running 30 minutes late and asked if I could wait. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never go back.
In response to Jenja’s message: My appointment was not a color correction. It wasn’t a color correction until I left this salon! I expressed my concern to Jenja about the orange streaks in my hair. We stepped outside to see it in natural light and Jenja said that possibly she should have left the color on longer or tone it again. I didn’t want to tone it again because I felt my hair had been through enough for one day and that I would call if I decided to have it fixed. So I would in no way say I was happy when I left this salon. The appointment lasted from 12:20 to after 4:00. That is a very long time for a partial highlight and cut. Jenja left the salon during my appointment for AT LEAST 30 minutes to pick up her daughter. Her assistant blow dried my hair and then I had to sit there for another 20 minutes and wait for Jenja to come back. Additionally, her assistant toned my hair and Jenja had to coach her through the process telling her how to do it. I did not pay over $ 200 for an assistant to learn how to tone hair with me as her guinea pig.

I had my hair styled and extensions put in for my wedding day. Everyone was super nice and they got me in and out of there super fast. My hair looked amazing and I was getting compliments left and right. I can’t wait to go back and do hair and nails next time! One stop shop! I love it! I was surprisingly happy with my final look. And it’s not because I’m super high maintenance and am never happy with the cut but because the stylist usually does a crappy job at styling to my preference. But Christian listened and did a great job at blowing my hair out and giving me volume. I got a conditioning treatment and trimmed the color at the ends of my hair off. My hair feels so soft and I’m so happy. I’ll will be back for a color treatment in a month.

I called Jenja Beauty to get extensions, and Jen did wonders on my hair! I am a first timer, and she was sure to tell me everything I needed to know. I told her I wanted it to look natural and to match into my current hair color, and she chose just the right blend to make my hair look like it had some highlights and lowlights, as well. It looks so natural! She also went the extra mile for me to make sure it looked great to HER satisfaction as an experienced stylist.

Jen is by far the BEST hair stylist I’ve been to! I absolutely love my haircut! She did exactly what I asked and was very thorough. Jen is super kind, warm, and compassionate! She made me feel welcome and comfortable! Her shop is in a great location and there is FREE parking near her shop. I’ve been in Hawaii for 2 years now, my super curly, creole hair that is also very fine isn’t easy to work with. I’ve seen some really horrible jobs on this head of mine especially when it comes to straightening/​blow-​out styles. When you find a kick-​ass hairstylist it’s like winning the lottery.
After having some bad experiences on the island with other hair stylists I decided to see if I could find someone to work with my hair. I found a pretty good deal for a cut/​conditioning/​style at Jenja so I went for it.
My hairstylist was Christian and he was fantastic. He did exactly what I asked and he styled my hair straight. When he was finished my hair looked fabulous! I was really happy with the final result. I would recommend them to anyone, you won’t be disappointed!

Christian has a real vision for this salon — he wants it to be a place where people can express their creativity. My favorite part was the photo booth he’ll let you use if he really likes the finished cut. My cut even looked good before it was dry! You know it’s good then.

‘Oh.em.gee’ doesn’t cover it and neither do 5 stars. Jen is completely amazing. I know most ppl can relate when you go get your haircut and you don’t really know what you want but you definitely know what you don’t want, well, Jen figures the rest out for you. My mom and I just went in today with kind of an idea of different styles that we wanted, she wanted a cut and some color with highlights and I just wanted a cut. Jen did wonders she made sure my hair stayed just as long as I wanted it (not too long and not too short) and it was just absolutely perfect, she even conditioned my hair and gave me some sweet samples of hair products to make my hair less dry! And my mom had absolutely no idea of what to do with her hair and Jen just took over and worked her magic, my mom loved it and she’s so sad that she’s only here visiting and can’t keep her permanently. Price wise I think it’s on a medium/​higher end (depends what you get) but affordable, however, for what you’re getting, plus the good vibes, great atmosphere, over all awesome time, she’s definitely under charging you big time! This is your girl. I would recommend her to everyone for sure!

Jen is very awesome and had taken her holiday off to fit me in her schedule and I love how her flexible she is. I came in to salon and it was very beautiful and clean. I love the way how her salon is set up. She had one client that she got done with and I love the way how her hair turned out. I asked her what she recommend for my type of hair and she went in details with me and what looks great with my hair. I love the way my hair turned out! It feels so much healthier, lighter, and loving the layers. She’s such an awesome hairstylist and such a sweetheart. I highly recommend you to Jen! She’s awesome and you won’t regret it! =)

I only had one person cut my hair my whole life. I let Jen cut my hair and the results were amazing!!! Besides being great with hair, she is an amazing person with such a great personality. She knew how particular I was about my hair, so she always asked me before cutting or doing anything to it. My hair will only be touched by 2 people now. I will definitely get my hair done by her again, and will recommend her to anyone that loves to take care of their hair.

I think it’s important to point out that when you find a really great stylist or colorist, they can do a lot more than just bright colors and funky edgy styles. But when what you want involves playful bright colors and funky edgy styles, it can be very difficult to find someone who can pull that off well and work with you to create a look at it is not just vivid but really beautiful.
Jenja is that kind of artist. I’m based in Los Angeles and there is no shortage of hair talent there, but I really wasn’t expecting to find someone the skilled in making my beloved hot pink look beautiful and feminine right here in Hawaii. I found her!
She’s totally amazing, patient, really puts heart into her work, and the results were exactly what I wanted. She totally works with her clients to make them feel happy and beautiful and I will absolutely be her devoted client and fan whenever I am here in Honolulu.
