Have been buying fish from this market for so many years. Sad to see it is closed and gone. Good luck to the owner and family.

Lots of fresh meats, seafood and produce to choose from at good prices. Spend some time walking through all the shops and markets in this area.

In Oahu Market one of the better places to get fresh poke from. Every morning they whip up a batch of fresh poke and you can taste it that it was freshly made. Their Poke has some of the ingredients that make the poke good like roasted Kukui Net(inamona), Ogo(seaweed), sesame seeds, and Hawaiian Salt. What’s good is that they don’t drench their poke in Shoyu or sauce and you get the full flavor of the fish. Of course that’s just the poke they also have Fresh Fish and Fresh raw Fish Cake all ready for you to add the rest of the ingredients before you fry it up. Although they don’t really have parking you can park in one of the public lots or small lots around the area which then is just a short walk away.

One of my favorite local food items is poke. When I first went to the local Costco and sampled their offerings of poke, I was hooked. Unfortunately, they only serve three or four different preparations of poke. While wandering in Chinatown several years ago, I found this shop in a fish market with fifteen to twenty little shops. They offered eight or nine different preparations of poke(limu, shoyu, kim chee, tako, shrimp, etc.). This fish stand faces the alley beside King Street and they are identified by a large carved wooden sign. I recommend buying it and eating while here as it was difficult to bring home. Did it once, but probably won’t be doing it again.
