Ive been here a few times and they always have what i need! Whether its sashimi, poke, dry aku, fish heads, reef fishes, etc. Aunty is the first to great me and she even speaks Vietnamese. Im glad that they clean fish, i couldnt possibly do it myself. Sometimes I take a while to decide on what to buy but theyre always patient with me. This fish market is one of the few left and i will continue coming back. Great service and fresh fish

Workers speak more than just English and guaranteed kind service every time. Always fresh fish that is weighed in front of you then cleaned/chopped with no additional cost. I take a little bit of time of my Saturday mornings to stop by and buy uhu for my family. Highly recommended.

There are plenty of fish markets inside Chinatown, but theres one big thing that makes this place special from the others. Before I explain what it is, I’d figure I start describing what this shop is. This is one of the last few true fish market stalls left in Chinatown. What I mean by this is that they bring in fresh fish, know what and where its from, and will clean and filet the fish to your liking. Most fish markets in Chinatown do still clean fresh fish, but won’t filet. Those markets also have a have time bringing in fresh fish and instead, sell defrosted frozen fish. So what makes this place so special? They often, especially the weekends, have bags of salmon bone and scraps for $ 5. These bags are HUGE. I know some of you guys cringe at bones and scraps but the things you can make with them are endless. Miso salmon soup, salmon cakes, fried salmon bones, salmon loaf, etc. The list is almost endless! And its not like there isn’t much salmon meat on them, theres a huge load of salmon meat on them left. Take the salmon bones, fry it to crisp, and use it to line your salmon cakes? Easy dinner plans for $ 5, and you still have a ton left to use it for other things.

Auntie always confirms how much you are going to pay before ringing you up, so you get lots of chances to change your mind. In their price, they include cleaning and fileting(if that is your bag) and you have the choice of keeping the heads and bones(which I always do) so it is nice that she gives you the option of keeping everything you paid for. She knows where all the fish and seafood comes from, which is nice because you know where your food is coming from.
