Maybe it was the company I was in when we were going, but I never thought Fashion 45 was all that bad. It was definetly a helluva lot less cheesy than Zanzabar, in my opinion. Yeah, the space was crowded. Yeah, the neon lights were a little ghetto. Yeah, the crowd could get overly touristy(but couldn’t that apply to all of Waikiki?). All I know is that the combination of a thug bouncer who is too stupid to read an ID, a group of crazy girls from all over the globe to party with, and as much illegal alcohol you can get your under 21 years old hands on, I always had a pretty good time at Fashion.

I absolutely hated Fashion 45 when it still existed. It’s all for tourists and military people… not really my scene. But my friends always liked coming here… for reasons i simply cannot fathom. The DJ was pretty good, so I give them that much. But the dance floor was relatively small, so people were dancing all over the place. Spilling drinks, hitting people, bleh it was horrible.

Fashion 45, like it’s counterpart, Zanzabar, is located in the Waikiki International Trade Center complex. Fashion 45 is located on the upper level while Zanzabar is on the bottom floor. They’re both tourist traps and have different set ups. Inside, the crowds are similar, with Zanzabar being more crowded since it was established first. As with Zanzabar, you won’t be seeing any local partying here.

Needs to not be 18+ so often… maybe they like it? But if they can’t(legally) drink in the place… they can’t like it too much. Also, sometimes it is randomly empty. Good music in back room, i like that room better, dance floor has potential… just not great… music outdated like zanzabar…6 month old hits or worse

So my friends and I went to Fashion 45 one night. The cost of getting into the club is 15 bucks so it wasn’t that bad. But, when we went in we literally looked at the dance floor and started laughing at each other. There was no one on the dance floor! All of these people were just standing near the couches or on the outskirts. There was no life in that club! Also, the club is really really tiny… I almost felt like I was at a middle school dance. The DJ was aiite, but I kind of was shocked that this was the famous Fashion 45… the place where the locals go. haha… oh well… maybe ill find a better club next time!

hahahahaha, i just love the back-to-back ghetto references!!! yeah yeah, we get it, the place is ghetto. if it’s not your thing, turn around and walk out the door. came here for a friend of a friend’s birthday. luckily for me, i was with my sister and we liked the music, so we got some dancing in. mix that with some alki, and you’re good to go!!! one thing that i loved is that the place closes at 4 in the am!!! now, being from southern cali, i’m used to last call around 130/2am. downfall, stupid drunks who can’t handle their alki, throwing up next to the bar, at least making it into the trash, but making the whole area smell like ass. booo to you! plus, watching my sister li-li-li-lick it like a lollipop, when actual lollipops were being passed out during the song.

On my first night back, my cousins wanted to go out. Naturally, I defer to them to select a location b/c they’re local(e.g., they should know better). They had a few college friends that worked the door & suggested we check it out. We take an escalator from the ground floor of a quasi-mall, office building, food court area which should have been red flags for what was to come. Schizophrenic, mixed use buildings are trouble. There’s no line but they have the security poles(like the airport) and makeshift curtain covering the entrance to the club. About 30 feet ahead of the entrance is a bar. So obviously, there’s a bottleneck caused by patrons as people attempt to enter. Why the hell you’d place a bar in a high traffic area is beyond me. You don’t have to be a professional space planner to know that, you just have to use a lil something I like to call ‘logic’. A second, less crowded bar is directly opposite of the first one, in the rear of the club. Between the two bars is a large room surrounded by plexiglass intended for ‘VIPs’. Lots of couches and miniature tables with zero privacy. I suppose plexiglass provides the advantage of seeing the entire club but from my perspective, the kind of people that pay for bottle service in the giant fishbowl want others to see them. After throwing elbows to make it through a narrow walkway to the ladies room, I’m assaulted by the stench of bathroom funk, which the attendants tried vainly to cover with aerosol. It was so bad, one of the attendants sprayed nearly half the can and unsuspecting girls walked right into the vanilla-berry-floral mist. Uuh. We really tried to make the best of it but ended up leaving shortly thereafter. If you like: –Overpriced drinks –Poorly planned space/layout –The tourist/skanky-hood crowd This is the place for you!

Aside from the previous mentioned whining. it should also be noted the bartenders are a little on the glittery side, with the glitter falling off and getting all over the scalp. Think«the showboating of ‘Cocktail’ meets the teen awkwardness of ‘Boy Meets World’ «…now serve it shaken with ‘Critters.’ (too much?)

I didn’t care very much for the type of people that were there primarily because the majority of patrons were a bit thuggish. I personally prefer a more intelligent looking crowd however if you’re going with a group of friends then you’ll definitely have a great time, but then again I could go to the desert with a group of friends and have a good time there to so I guess that’s not sayin’ much huh? The bartenders were great and you won’t be disappointed with the drinks(strong)! The music is good, atmosphere in general wasn’t too bad and there was plenty of space to wonder around. If you’re looking for a decent place to party then this is the place. Besides, if you get bored you can always go to Zanzabar located downstairs in the Waikiki Trade Center.

Heard so much about this place… but in the end was disappointed. the place is big and the music was good… but the kind of people they were letting in was wrong… they were letting in guys wearing shorts and a t-shirt!!! the men’s room is in full view for the whole world to see cause the door is facing the seating area. there are 2 bars… good drinks… good music… nice lights(maybe too much lights?) but the interior was shabby looking could use lots of work, need to do something about the men’s room, there needs to be a dress code.

$ 15 for cover? Line around the corner? not worth it, sorry. Heard this place was ‘the place to be in Waikiki” from a guy in line… but of course this guy was a 45 year old man on the verge of skin cancer by the look of his leathery skin… which was visible through his unbuttoned shirt with gold chains and leather jacket. We turned around and found Maddogs, probably not as ‘classy’ but at least there was no cover.

fashion 45… studio 54? i dunno, i get confused easily. anyhoo…this is a miami-esque club with a white interior with colored lights to give it that special glow. sounds cool, but really kinda ghetto. now i don’t have any other places to compare it to. but not too great for this city girl. and why were the lights so bright? i’m bored. they played x-men III on the TVs which is what I watched most of the night.
