Diamond Head Dental Care

I received an advertisement in the mail for Diamond Head Dental Care. I thought that I would give them a try since they are closer to my residence than my regular dental office, Ala Moana Dental Care. Teeth cleaning is free if you have insurance. It is not free if you do not have insurance. So, I scheduled an appointment.
Within minutes I started to receive text messages, emails, and voice mails from Diamond Head Dental Care requesting confirmation of the appointment. I promptly confirmed. Then over the next several weeks I continued to received more text messages, emails, and voice mails from Diamond Head Dental Care requesting that I confirm the appointment yet again.
Ultimately, I began to feel harassed by these ultra-​aggressive and predatory sales tactics.
Therefore, I just ignored the subsequent communications.
The administrative support staff quickly abandoned their smiley façade and become rather rude and even threatening.
One voice mail said, «YOU HAVE NOT CONFIMRED YET!» And another threatened to cancel my appointment if I did not confirm again immediately.
I am an adult, so I do not need to be treated like a child.
In conclusion, I will be going back to Ala Moana Dental Care.

When my two children and I arrived the dentist who we came to see (Dr. Matto) was not there. We all had our teeth cleaned, which was ok. My children saw another dentist (Dr. Englund) who just started in the office, and I will return to see the original dentist I was scheduled with in a week. It is a bit annoying that I have to come back.
The reception area was clean, but the appointment rooms were a bit worn/​dirty. The floor in the first appointment room on the left had red dirt or paint on it.
The new dentist that my children saw (Dr. Englund) was very nice, the children liked her a lot. It will be interesting to see what happens on my next visit. It is not what I expected after reading all of the other great reviews on Unilocal.
On my return visit — I was greeted right away by the folks in the front office, and Dr. Matto was on time. The appointment room I was in during my second visit was quite clean and tidy, and Dr. Matto’s assistant was very knowledgeable. As a dentist, Dr. Matto is professional, thorough and very logical about his dental plan. I learned since our first visit that there had been some construction going on in the first appointment room, which explains quite a bit about the original appearance of the room. I will have to say, it was like visiting a different dentists office today. I can understand why this dentist gets so many fabulous reviews.

I went there twice so far. Excellent service. The dentist and his assistants have very gentle hands. It was completely painless. I’ve never been to a dentist that didn’t hurt. This was the first time that I enjoyed my dentist visit and it was so good that it prompted me to write this review. Good job guys!!!

Another «great» visit! I’m always terrified and the staff puts me at ease. Dr. Maddo is wonderful. I still feel anxiety but it’s nothing like a first visit. What makes me feel the best is that I know that whatever I need to be comfortable is ok! If I need a break, or sit up, or an extra minute to get ready. .it’s all ok. They don’t judge. He takes his time and is really gentle. He updates u so your not just worrying about how much longer u will have to be there.. can’t say enough good things. …sooooooo glad I found this office!

These guys are seriously great! I had just moved to the island & had the tough task of finding a new dentist I could trust; I’m so glad I chose them! A clean, easy-​to-​find office is filled with friendly & efficient office staff. They went above & beyond to sort through my (apparently uncommon) insurance red tape so that I didn’t have to. My hygienist was lovely– welcoming & quick but thorough; she felt like a friend after 5 minutes! And the Dr was the perfect balance of charming, disarming and knowledgeable. He even squeezed me in for a procedure directly after my appointment so that I didn’t have to go back another day.

Location is peaceful community, nice businesses next door. Parking is small but there’s also street parking in the community just a few minutes to walk and cross street. At DHDC, There is small lobby and comfy with fresh water to hydrate yourself. Service staff is nice and knowledgable. I walked in at the right time to inquire on Invisalign vs braces because Dr Matto was available and they said consultations are free. I’m a prior patient and they pulled my file and he gave informative evaluation and quote on Invisalign. For the braces Dr Matto referred me to Holliday orthodontics I was able to book appt for the next day they give courtesy consultation and welcome packet on first visits. I’ll review next. Four stars because they gave me quote for crown I inquired on two visits and both were priced different, also why 4 star instead of 5 star because I look for the extra courtesy I’ve seen at other businesses, for example folder provided with the printouts of medical/​health records and documents if offered.

Both my wife and I switched our dentists after hearing such great reviews and we’re happy we made the right choice. Dr. Matto and his entire staff were fantastic.
They were friendly and treated us like real people rather than just another dental patient. I got a great cleaning and so did my wife, who doesn’t like going to the dentist.
We appreciated the staff’s attentiveness to schedule our follow on appointment. Also, their late appointment times (we went at 6PM) make it great for young professionals who can’t get away from work in the middle of the day.
We won’t be going to another dentist and highly recommend Dr. Matto and his staff to anyone who wants great Dental care in a friendly atmosphere. Plus they play the best music of any doctor or dentist office!

I highly recommend it to all of my friends and family members. They are super friendly and do care about their patients.

I went to diamond head dental cuz my crown fell off. During the visit for putting back my crown, they found out I have another tooth needed treatment although I don’t feel anything. I am glad that they detected this earlier before I can feel it.
Also, Dr. Matto and his staffs are very professional and kind. They have great schedule to accommodate both my husband and I whom work in totally different hours. Highly recommended!

Diamond head dental care is a great place to get dental work done. The place is equipped with the newest equipment and it is very clean.
Dr. Matteo is a great dentist. Not only is he a very skilled professional, he’s very personable. I would recommend this dentist office to anybody.
The rest of the staff that I’ve met and talked to have been very pleasant to deal with as well.

I’ve been going to this dentist since last November. The place is clean and the staff is really friendly. They have free wifi.

Here for my tooth. It hurts. I dont worry, Dr Motto he takes good care, painless! Trust me I dont like coming to dentist appointment. But Dr Motto got the touch.

It’s probably been 10 years since I have seen a dentist (between not having dental insurance and just not wanting to go, I have been bad lol) I finally got a dentist appointment here thanks to a recommendation. I couldn’t be anymore happy with this dentist.
Very clean and neat facility. The ladies at the front are very cheerful and helpful.
Haley was my dental hygienist. She did a wonderful job. She was gentle but very thorough. Communicated with me the entire way. Very cheery person. Can’t thank her enough for her patience.
Dr. Matto was brief but explained things clearly and didn’t seem like I was a rush. I really did not have any questions for him so the meet with him was pretty brief. He was also gentle examining my teeth. He mentioned teeth straightening services as I do have crowding, but did not push the subject.
After 10 years, I did have a small cavity (Dr. Matto said I must have had a «dental God» watching over me lol) which I will be back in a couple weeks, to get done. With my next appointment, I don’t feel as nervous as I did when I first decided on getting finally getting to a dentist.
Might sound cheesy to say, but as their logo says «A Reason to Smile», I do now.

Dr. Matto and all of his staff are friendly, professional and overall awesome! I am a return client and couldn’t ask for a better office to get my teeth cleaned. Both the doctor and hygienist are thorough in explaining what is being done and answering any questions. I highly recommend this team… AND they are open on Saturday’s!

An awesome and pleasant experience at the dentist office. Let me give you the run down:
Location: The dentist’s is not kidding when he says he’s located near Diamond Head. There’s a bunch of mini health food stores and the infamous Bogart’s Café neighboring this office.
Parking is small but there’s street parking available if you turn into one of the neighboring apartments nearby. I got lucky by getting a stall directly in front of the office!
First impression: If you LOVE the beach as much as I do, you’ll notice how gorgeous the sparkling blue-​tile floors and oceanic artwork surrounding the front desk and back room. Everything looks immaculately clean and they even have a few live plants and a water cooler for your thirsty needs.
Service: The front desk lady, I forgot her name but she was super friendly and cheerful, was pleasant to talk to in regards of appointment confirmation and asking several questions of wisdom tooth extraction… Professional, pleasant, and she didn’t rush me at all.
Dentist: Dr. Motto must be a pianist with teeth. This guy was super gentle, soft spoken, and saved me $ 600 because «Manoa Dental» said I have a developing cavity and they quoted me a ridiculous amount… Long story short, he did not try to scare me into getting fillings and he definitely took his time to explain what was going on with my teeth.
Hygienist: I’m not fond of people scraping my teeth but I know it has to get done. Haley kept communicating with me and made sure I was comfortable. She also explained to me why my gums were slightly inflamed, I’m glad she was super informative.
Everything from the check in, X-​rays, evaluations, cleaning, and checkout was a pleasant experience. I cannot recommend this place anymore.
P.s… I walked out with no payment due to my insurance but in case you didn’t have anything to cover your teeth, $ 68 for everything I described. Wow! Don’t know anything better than that.
Amazing experience!

Went in today for a cleaning and had a perfect experience! The staff was super nice all around. My hygienist was Hayley. I told her that my teeth are really sensitive to hot and cold. During the whole entire cleaning she was super sweet making sure I was ok and she made sure she was gentle around the sensitive spots on my teeth. My teeth feel and look so clean. The doctor was very nice as well and knowledgable. I went in with my husband and he also had a great experience. No cavities for us both! Highly recommended!

Third time here and I still think that they are awesome. I have recommended diamondhead dental to all of my friends and co workers. Such a great team from the receptionist to the hygienists to the dentist. See ya in March

Great neighborhood dentist on Diamondhead. Very good prices for cleaning and X-​rays. Don’t matter if you have insurance the prices are good for highly professional service and they don’t try scam you like some offices. The Dr. is mainland/​Boston practitioner with great energy. Clean High tech latest equipment and professional very friendly staff make this place a winner. Open early and weekends. Recommended by Acai Café next door and Pioneer Saloon.
