Kaimana Pantry

We were on our usual meanderings around the Diamond Head and Waikiki neighborhoods when we realized that we had forgotten our Hydroflasks at home. It was hot and sunny but we still had about 2 more miles to go on our return to our parked vehicle when I asked my husband to stop at this little strip mall as I saw Kaimana Pantry convenience store.
Walking into this little market was like an oasis! We were greeted by a friendly cashier and stock clerk and very cool air conditioning. The store was lined with all sorts of beverages, alcoholic and non-​alcoholic, refrigerated and room temperature. There were a couple of rows of snack-​type goodies and staples. I didn’t want to linger as I was sweaty from our exercise so I just asked where the cold water bottled water was kept, We quickly located the refrigerator that was well-​stocked with cold beverages, purchased them and walked out. The prices were quite comparable to supermarket or drugstores in Honolulu. For the neighborhood, this convenience store must be a real «lifesaver» if one doesn’t want to drive a to a supermarket.
As we continued on our way, we browsed the mall that has other shops like the newly-​opened Hawaii Sushi, Diamond Head Cove Health Bar, Bogart’s Café, Surf N Turf Tacos and this convenience store. There is a small parking lot that fronts the entire mall which was packed. There were some people who were trying to double park just to pick up their takeout orders. We’ll be back to try the other popular cafes located here, soon.

Live right down the street and always go here to buy beer or water. For the convenience and size of the store the beer selection is surprising descent and always cold.

They now have Bertie Bott’s every flavor bean! Candy isle!
Hours just changed: now Hours are 8 am to 11 pm!
Like: the staff. Dislike: they still don’t carry sourpatchkids.

All of my complaints have also already been mentioned by other reviewers. Worker was not the friendliest which is a bad way to end a day after a great day at the beach. The store was messy. To top all this off I noticed that the drink I had purchased was expired.

Was much better when the husband and wife ran the store, used to go there rather than 7 – 11 (just to support small family run company)
But now that they re-​tiered and the place is run by a bunch of kids. Most of the time you have to wade thou the group of chain smoking, skate board totting kids (Friends of they guy who is working at the counter) with attitude and does not make for inviting experience. Every time I go there the place is messier and more run down. Now that aloha gas gas a better store, we go there. (just because they are friendly, clean and not a hang out for a bunch of young adult.

This place has the COLDEST beer in the whole town.
