I don’t go to here that often due to the age limit. But I just turned 21 this past wednesday and if I could I would give this 10+ stars. I went here with a few of my cousins and it was one night to remember. I had so much fun. Our waitress(I should have asked for her name) was great!!! She had a positive attitude. We ordered the 50. 0z i believe beers twice and a couple of shots each. Service was excellent. We got our food 5 mins after we ordered. Hot and ready! Our waitress was very patient and polite. She didn’t rush us in anyway. We came there at around 430pm because of the drinks and happy hour. but we were missing 4 people so we had to wait for another 1 hour for them to show up. Everyone had a blast! Although, one negative comment i would say is when i went to the bar area this asian girl was rude and rushed us to order our drinks. She said my card didn’t work but when i checked afterwards paying cash there was money in my card. So I don’t know exactly the reason why she said that I didn’t have money inside. But DAVE&BUSTERS! If I could give you the exact name of our server that night working Friday, January 29, 2016 around 4:30−8pm upstairs by the game area. You guys have to THANK her because without her GREATSERVICE this wouldn’t have got a 5+ star review. She deserved a tip! And we gave her a great tip! I would definitely come back again! THANKYOUFORMAKINGMY21STANAMAZINGONE! P.S Ive been dying to try the desserts here every since… but I was too drunk I forgot about it. Now I’m sad but next time Ill definitely try it!

I will preface this review by saying that I don’t care about any game except for air hockey, and that extends to both the arcade and the wall of TVs that seems to attract the biggest(and loudest) crowds here at D & B’s. I am in it to EAT. Most of the food here is typical bar food, and it’s mostly pretty good for that, although please note that the portions are INSANE. I have often wondered whether the entrée that they have dropped by my table was meant to be shared by the party of 10 nearby. Even the salads are loaded up with toppings and dressings to the extent that they are almost comical, so good freakin’ luck if you’re trying to be healthy. If you’re catching a flick after eating here, you might want to share with someone… or else you will be doomed to cope with the guilt of wasting a ton of food. That said, if you visit(and it’s worth a trip if you’re hangry at Ward and are blatantly disregarding heart health for the day), the BEST thing on the menu is the mini pretzel hot dog appetizer. The habanero dipping sauce that comes with them isn’t really spicy, but more like a honey mustard with extra(and very pleasant) zing, and the pretzel dogs themselves are pretty much my ultimate comfort food. I crave them to the point that I have a Pavlovian response to just seeing the exterior of D & B’s. It is a problem.

1006am on Sunday Morning, NFL Championship Games, 100+ people waiting outside and D&B’s has not opened to the public. WTF!!! Manager needs to be checked and fired. I’ve seen about 60 people walk away. These guys suck!!!

I am only writing this 1 star review specifically directed at management. Monday night(1÷18÷16) I went to a wine and canvas event at Dave and Buster’s in Ward, which was held in an event room. I admittedly had a few too many drinks(Mamma’s night out and I wasn’t driving so I kinda let loose). Left my hyrdoflask sitting on the table after the event was over. I called the Wine and Canvas folks(which are AMAZING if you ever want to go to one, they are really nice gals) in which I was told our server(Sam) picked it up and placed it behind an undisclosed Micros station. Stupid me, I should have called D&Bs right then and there but my kids were screaming and I figured I could go down after nap time and pick it up. Fast forward to 4pm Tuesday(1÷19÷16). Walked in and they couldn’t find it. Sam was there and adamant that she left it behind the Micros station(which is apparently where they stack everything left behind and anyone can access it). Manager(David) was completely aloof and unapologetic, saying things go missing here all the time. Purses, wallets, etc. I’m sorry, WHAT? You admit that you have a theft problem in your establishment but don’t do anything about it? He offer zero solutions, didn’t even take my name and number in case it shows up and basically said I was s**t out of luck. Yes it was stupid of me to leave it behind. It was also stupid of me to assume that a store/restaurant/whatever would want to take care of their customer’s belongings regardless if it is accidentally left behind or not. To add to it, I am almost positive there was no tequila in their Prosecoritas. I love margaritas and tequila and I tasted absolutely nothing! Next time I will ask for the liquor on the side so I know I am actually getting something. I will never come back here if I can avoid it!

I’m completely changing my review of this place based on the past few times I’ve come here. The one star is because its fun to play here and I still enjoy the food. Note to self: stop ordering mixed drinks, I ordered the DNBTNT(their version of long island) — I ordered 2 and didn’t even feel a buzz and no I’m not a heavy or even moderate drinker. The last time I came here was for a table of 6 on the first level, coworkers and my sister. Just a fun happy hour-ish gathering to BS for a couple hours. At first our server was friendly, but after taking our drink orders he would ask if we’ve decided on food then follow up with little to no pause of «I’ll give you more time, I’ll come back». Keep in mind the place is DEAD. He took everyone’s order with the exception of my sister because she was about 30 min late. I reminded him a couple times we would be on the same check. My sister got there, ordered and got her food, and two of the others at our table still hadn’t received theirs. So my friend asked when it would be out. He looked at them and said«what did you order?» as if they never even placed an order, she started telling him and he interrupted and said«oh yeah, never mind I got it». Another waitress followed up to apologize and said their food would be right out. He never refilled our water, didn’t offer to take anything out of our way, and just really didn’t seem to care about doing a decent job. Even though our group were having a good time talking with each other, hangry-ness and patience started to wear. There were 6 checks, 4 of which paid in cash. Ours came separate even though we asked for it to be together, we put both of our receipts in one book to be paid with her card. He only rang up one, so I paid mine with cash. The next morning, her card was charged her bill AND a SEPERATE $ 107CHARGE!!! The other person that paid with her card only had one correct charge. We checked with everyone at the table! She called the manager on her lunch, he said he would call her back. He followed up 3 – 4 hours later and said they rang up the entire bill on her card first, but it should be reversed. I’m sorry, all the checks were split by the time they even got her card! I believe that is a cover up story, but whatever they do with that waiter(Joe B) is their business, as long as my sister gets her money back. Our entire tables total did not equal $ 107, it was more we checked. Which it has been a week and that charge is still pending. If it not off of her account by tomorrow she will be calling her bank. This charge left her amount available less $ 107, which for someone who just moved here and is temping is a great inconvenience! It’ll be a while before I come back here again, if I ever do.

Dave and Buster’s is a nice place to hang out if you want to relax a little and just unwind with some friends or co-workers that has a weird group dynamic. They offer a reasonable menu of food, drinks, and games that can break all the ice.

Yeah, the arcade is awesome but the restaurant dishonored my ancestors(not literally) We came here at the time of night my friend likes to call«Why am I in town this late!?» to make the most out of a trip we made to the area to drop someone off at home. The arcade was amazing, we played their wide selection of interesting games for about 2 hours before we ran out of credits and decided to check what we could buy with the 5,000+ tickets we got. Nothing really interesting. So then we went down to eat since the crowd had died of the restaurant was practically empty of people. You know the drill now. Categories. Renovation: About a year ago Dave and Busters totally renovated the styling of the bottom floor from a rustic look with rich woods and belt driven fans to a full modern space with sleek design cues, brighter lights and some new artwork. It works really well and gave me a really high expectation for what our food would be like. Appetizer Pull apart Pizza Pretzel: Pretty good, not plated to any standard I would have expected, kind of sloppily circling a marinara thing which also had cheese all over it but it tasted good. Loco Moco(Burger?): This was the heartbreaking disappointment of the night, as you can see in the image their«Loco Moco» is filed in the«Classic Burgers» section of the menu so I thought they had created a Loco Moco burger. A bun with a patty of rice bellow a beef patty, topped off with a fried egg and gravy then sealed up with another bun, with lettuce and onions. Sounded amazing, I might try make one myself at home now that I’ve been given the idea, but this thing wasn’t a burger.. . it was just a «Fancy» loco moco. Why was this thing in the burger section then? I was ready for a new adventure, a new thing, something unique and I got zilch. The rice was chewy in some sections, the patty itself wasn’t seasoned and all the flavor was in the gravy so it wasn’t even a GOOD loco moco, Zippy’s does better than that. If you sat me in front of a Zippy’s loco moco and the thing from Dave and Busters I’d take the one from Zippy’s, it tastes better and it’s cheaper. That deception and disappointment alone TANKED them to one star in my mind. Service: Bad, really bad, our guy kept vanishing. When he was around he was a great server but he wasn’t really around. An entirely different server closed us out. The only reason why I’m 2 starring them is because the midway is still awesome. Other than that I don’t think I’ll be back here for a while. Dishonor on them, Dishonor on their loco moco, Dishonor on their cow. –End Review–

I love this place, everytime I come home I try my best to make it out there. It’s like a giant Fun Factory but waaaaayyyy better. It’s a 3 story building: 1st floor-Bar & Restaurant 2nd floor-Games, Bar, & Booths 3rd floor-Rooftop Party Last year they did a major makeover on the 1st floor, they took away the pool tables, the customer service area is more noticeable when you first walk in by the escalators. The bar doesn’t look too crowded, a little bit more roomy & they just changed the tables and booths in the restaurant area. The prize room is much better & organized. I am so happy that I don’t have to carry tickets anymore, it goes straight to your card-much easier. Parking can be a bitch if you want to park in the garage(depends what day & time you go). There is a lot of parking around the area.

For my niece’s birthday decided to come here instead of the usual Chucky Cheese, so you know the adults can have some fun too. At first, the dark room bothered me a bit as this was a girl’s birthday party and well 9year-old girls like pink, pink, and evermore pink!(No joke!) Luckily it turns out the arcade games were exactly what she wanted for her birthday! Games like the ice age smashing game, fruit ninja, and Kung fu panda were the highlights of the night. Some of the games the kids didn’t like were any games that didn’t produce huge tickets hahaha! Another thing that made D&B the perfect place were the prizes the kids could trade in the tickets for! The kids went cray cray in the prize room! From sticky hands, to fart cushions, to just plain old balls. The kids loved every part of it!

This place is absurd. I honestly cannot understand how and why this place is even in business. The food is lousy, its noisy, and video games are an arm and a leg. My friend said it best when she said«this place is where dads with shared custody of their children can take their kids to feel good about taking them to a bar. its family time.» My own kids were freaked out by this place. Pushy, mindless children and adults running around, trying to win cheap plastic toys that will end up in the rubbish. My 7 year old daughter even asked if we could go home after about 15 minutes. We stayed a little longer for the birthday party game-a-thon that we had gone to say hi, but then we left and had some real quality family time together playing on the stairs outside the movie theatre while we waited for dad to finish his overpriced beer. Never going back to that Las Vegas training ground for kids and adults who never matured.

After many times going to Happy Hour here, I’m finally going to write a review. :D Happy hour is from 4:30pm-7pm and 10pm-close Sun-Thurs. My friends and I enjoy coming here for the early happy hour because the liquor is half off and the 22 oz. beers are a $ 1 off. Three of the Long Islands I had came out to about $ 13! Sometimes we even show up for the early happy hour and chit chat for so long that we also benefit from the late happy hour. I enjoy going to the newly renovated sports lounge area with all the TV’s around. This used to be the pool table/shuffle board area. It’s relatively empty during early happy hour, so it’s easy to find a table for a large group(except during basketball and football season). They also are able to split the tabs up whichever way you want to, so it’s super convenient. The ONLY issue I have with this place is the service. I also believe that’s why it’s pretty empty in the lounge area, which is a good thing for me because there are lots of available seats when I get there. However, every time I sit down, I worry about who is going serve us. I am writing this review only because I was pleasantly surprised that we 1. had a server I’ve never seen before 2. she was really pleasant and 3. she was so on it! Our server’s name was Violette and I hope she will be serving at Dave and Buster’s in the lounge area for a while because she’s by far the best waitress I’ve had since going there for years and years. If they had more servers like this, I bet more people would come.

There’s not much to say here. We were the only ones waiting to be seated. Several staffed passed us by. I can be patient to a point. I understand sometimes wait staff are rushing. I think I was more than patient, 10 min, and no one even acknowledged our existence to see if we needed help. Sorry, that is a big no no in customer service. End of story. End of my patronage.

Where do you go on a Wednesday night before a holiday or a break? Dnbs for half off drinks after 1000 pm. If you are looking for a place for cheaper mixed drinks and a younger crowd this is your place. Tons of 21 – 26 year olds running around and 3 floors to drink on. The first floor offers a fairly open bar, not too crowded on most nights, and a small dance floor for music.(No one really dances here so if you want your own space this your spot). The second floor offers drinks and games galore. Drinking and shooting hoops or skee ball makes for a fun night the third floor is for dancing and outdoor drinking. Not the best on a rainy or muggy night. But the third floor is great for a nice weather day at end of the day to watch the sunset. You may also want to try taco Tuesday for fish, chicken, and beef tacos for a couple bucks. Their menu is decent and hits the spot for games and a drinking night. Offers a variety of appetizers, bar food, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Food is nothing special but does offer variety. I enjoyed the BBQ chicken with mash and vegetables or steak salad for a healthier alternative. Atmosphere depends on the time you go and what you expect. If you want a crowd, Wednesday night before a break or holiday; think of the college schedule, this is your place to go(4⁄5). If you want to dance(2⁄5). If you want to drink and play games(5⁄5 — because you can challenge your friends). Recommend for a light lunch in a relaxing setting over any other meal(4⁄5). Parking is okay but can be crazy on $ 6 Tuesday movies or late night. Service gets crazy during late nights and is less to be desired 1⁄5 due to how busy it is. But, when you stay at the bar it’s fairly quick 4⁄5). I recommend the 1st floor for standing around and drinking over all other floors. Tables on the second floor is slow during busy times. Great for kids during early day and on half of Wednesday games before 1000. Food 3.5÷5 Atmosphere 4⁄5 Parking 4⁄5 Service 3⁄5 to 4⁄5

I mean really you can’t find anything better for food and games. Like most people in Hawaii their is a lot of history here. One of my favorite hangouts growing up as a kid. Obviously we come here for the second floor. When you walk in you feel like your in Vegas. I appreciate their efforts in investing a lot of money into updating their games on a frequent basis. Every time I visit it seems as if theres a new game debuting. Which makes visiting enjoyable and not bland. First floor is slightly updated recently. With a main information center as soon as you walk in. Restaurant is located to the left with TV’s in the Bar area great for watching the games. Far left near the Arch is the area for dining. Restrooms are located to the right, but needs a renovation. As cabinets in the restroom are falling apart and its dirty as can be. Food is your basic American, with deals that allow you to get a meal and a power game card together. As for our last meal at the restaurant, my wife and I had an enjoyable time. Sri was our waiter and is probably the best waiter here. Gave us food tips and really showed that he cared. Food was just ok but the service made up for that. I mean it’s DNBS, you can’t go wrong. Obviously they could use some sprucing up but still fun place to play!

D&B is a good spot to go hang out with friends and family. They offer something for everyone. Downstairs they have a restaurant and bar, the 2nd floor has games and bar, third floor has a bar and there are restrooms on all the floors. My coworkers and I came here recently to have dinner and the food wasn’t bad. After dinner, we played games. Make sure to get a Power Card so that you can swipe and play. My favorite game is the claw game. It’s so much fun to win a prize. Some of the games here give you tickets and you can load them to your Power Card. It can be redeemed for prizes on the 2nd floor. There are prizes that are a few tickets and others that require you to save all your tickets to redeem for that prize. A tip is to sign up for their email list because they send you promos for additional or bonus chips when you load your Power Card. If you go often enough, it becomes a Gold Card. Don’t lose this card! Make sure to bring ID if you come in the evening because it’s 21 and over. Have fun and good luck playing!

I haven’t visited this Honolulu D&B for several years, but I recently had the opportunity to meet a friend there for dinner. The menu has changed some since the time of my last visit, but I wanted to come here specifically to check out some of the new featured items. We came for dinner around 7:30 p.m. on a Thursday evening and actually enjoyed a peaceful dinner. The restaurant side wasn’t very crowded, save for a few birthday gatherings; there were a lot of booths/tables that were empty, and our food came out relatively quickly. I definitely enjoyed this trip to D&B and will be back, since there are so many things on the menu that I want to try. Here’s what my friend and I got during our trip: «Short Rib & Cheesy Mac Stack»: This was the primary reason for this trip to D&B … because I heard about this burger and it sounded too good to be true. I wanted to try it before it somehow disappeared from the menu. Even though it’s a relatively new menu offering, I don’t know how long these things last(I heard it depends on how favorable the items are with the customers). But anyway. This glorified sandwich included tender slices of short rib, creamy mac and cheese and bourbon-glazed onions sandwiched between two thick slices of sourdough that’s grilled to buttery, golden-brown goodness. It came with crispy, seasoned tater tots. This sandwich was a winner and it tasted just as good as I imagined. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy; I was a little nervous about the short ribs because I don’t really order ribs … but the slices were really thin and easy to eat. I separated the stacked sandwich and ate one half and took the other home. I did, however, eat all my tots in one sitting because I knew they wouldn’t taste as good the next day. I had to add some salt to my tots because they weren’t as seasoned as I would have liked, but I merely loved the fact that tots were included with the meal(instead of fries), since I actually prefer tots. «Baked Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo»: This was the pasta that my friend ended up getting; it looked really similar to the traditional mac and cheese dish(and the noodles were the same as the macaroni in my sandwich. This entrée featured plump shrimp and grilled chicken breast sautéed with mushrooms and sundried tomatoes that was tossed with cavatappi pasta and a three-cheese Alfredo sauce. It was finished with a garlic breadcrumb crust and baked until brown and bubbly. I was a bit jealous when I saw my friend’s dish because it looked delicious. It was definitely cheesy and piping hot when it was brought to our table; I could see the steam readily coming out from the dish. My friend said the chicken and shrimp were a bit sparse – noodles dominated the entrée – but she didn’t really mind because the Alfredo was really good. The sundried tomato bits also were not that prevalent, but I took that as a good sign, since I don’t like tomatoes(if I ever order this dish for myself, I wouldn’t have anything to worry about). «Brookie Sundae Tower»: Once I saw this new featured dessert on the menu, I had my eyes on it and knew that I wanted to order it … no matter how full I was! This«Brookie» is perfect for sharing because it features two scoops of ice cream and two«Brookies” – a hybrid of a giant chocolate brownie and a chocolate chip cookie made with Ghirardelli chocolate chips and baked together. The tower is sandwiched together with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauces; it came topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a cherry on top. I’m not crazy about whipped cream, but my friend likes it so I gave her all of that. But man! This«Brookie» was amazing and is seriously one of my top favorite desserts. The brownie-cookie hybrid was nearly perfect – soft, gooey, chewy, chocolaty and moist. It almost had that melt-in-your-mouth consistency and it paired perfectly with the vanilla ice cream. And, because the chocolate and caramel sauces were so generously drizzled, every bite was filled with both chocolate and caramel. This dessert is absolutely glorious to behold and I cannot wait for my next trip to D&B so I can get it again. «Pepperoni Pretzel Pull-Apart»: My friend actually contemplated getting this shareable app for dinner because it reminded her of a pepperoni pizza. It features a shareable cluster of jumbo, braided pretzel pieces brushed with garlic butter and toped with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, fresh basil and shredded Parmesan cheese. It comes with a zesty marinara sauce for dipping. I probably wouldn’t use the marinara, but I’m curious to see what these pretzel pieces taste like. I only like pretzels when they’re in soft form, so I anticipate trying this app one day.

We did takeout for desserts only, we didn’t go upstairs to play games, just straight to the front counter placed our order and waited about 10 minutes. I got the donut holes, it’s actually served warm and fresh and comes with chocolate cake style donut with a sugar coating, and a vanilla cake style donut rolled in powdered sugar. It comes with a chocolate sauce, and a raspberry sauce, both are delish with either flavor donuts. Kids will love this and comes with a dozen donuts total. I also got my ABSOLUTEFAVORITE! MYMOSTFAVORITEFOODINTHEENTIREUNIVERSE!, the banana fosters pie! Oh my gosh! Can’t quite figure out what is in this?, it has some kind of sweet cream, like a cross between whipped cream and butter cream. It has thin layer of yellow cake, all on a crust not sure if it’s a graham cracker crust?, drizzled with caramel and lots of sweet bananas. The bananas always seem to have the right sweetness, not over ripe, just perfect. As far as the food, everything I have tasted here is just PERFECT!, I’ve tried the salmon, chicken parm alfredo, and the Phily cheese steaks all were delish! I love coming here, as I know I will be satisfied.

This use to be the hot spot during my 21 year old days where Wednesday nights would be poppin and lines would go as far down to big city diner. Wednesday nights are half off games and drinks. But as the years passes by, I sort of drifted from coming here as often as I use to. The only time I’d really come here is when I’m meeting up with friends for a place to hang before a movie or after work to kill time before traffic dies down. I’ve been here a couple times this year for pupus and a late night gathering with friends which both instances happen to be during happy hour times. Happy hour is Monday — Friday: 430−4pm and Sunday — Thursday: 10pm to closing. I prefer to sit at the bar downstairs and in the booth dining area. But I would suggest finding bar area if you don’t have that many people in your group. I’ve experienced where the dining area was a long wait. Upstairs seating area is even more crazier. They also have a lower level where more tables are available that has lots of big screen tvs to watch from. They have great eat and play combo that they offer if you like to play games there that starts at $ 16.99 and get a $ 10 power card. There are also other promo meals that you can double the power card deals. But I don’t usually go there to play games anymore so I just always stick to appetizers. My favorites are the Lotsa Loaded Tots, Pretzel Dogs, and Buffalo Wings. I don’t really get full meals since I can never finish. Service in past experiences is a hit or miss as this place can get quite busy at times. But it is a decent place to just hang out and watch sports if you’re into watching the games. TVs everywhere in the bar area so all sorts of games are being played at once. Good happy hour and affordable prices for bar food. I would stick to appetizers for sharing purposes. Lots of parking in the structure. Fridays and Saturdays there’s a cover charge of $ 3 after 10pm. Recommended place for family outings with kids.

Ugh. So fun. Grab yourself a beer, wander around, and get exponentially worse at playing games with each flicka the wrist. If the kung fu panda game is there, I would suggest anyone to make a fool of themselves playing it. Sound affects are provided, but adding your own make it better.

Unilocal 100 Review Challenge 2015: 80⁄100 About time I’m writing a review on D&B since I’ve frequented this place since turning legal & it being THEE place to go on a Wednesday night in Hawaii. But my crazy, Light The Roof on Fire days were short lived when I actually started working«like an adult» & the hang overs, lack of sleep and wrinkled clothes the next day just don’t cut it like they did in college… Nonetheless, I still like their Taco Tuesday on the Rooftop which includes $ 1 hard shell tacos with your choice of filling(chicken, spicy beef or regular) that sure beats Tacobell. I always make sure I make it to HH which is 4:30p-7p, Mon-Fri! Unfortunately they cease to have billiards, instead it’s been renovated into a sports bar FYI for football season which is starting up. The food at D&B is definitely bar food, I will never order their Mac n’ Cheese again but their desserts and nachos are worth trying. The service is inconsistent. Sometimes the server is rushing you or, like last night, the server has forgotten about you & you wait 10 minutes for your bill! Also, at times the cocktails are straight alcohol and other times you’re left wondering if you’re just drinking juice?! But what can you expect? It’s a D&B’s franchise so they aren’t exactly the cream of the crop when it comes to their food & service but you can’t beat their FREE parking & Happy Hour so I’m not complaining.
