Cheryl was a dream to work with as well as awesome company to have as you are getting ready! She did an amazing job and was on point with my style of hair and make up. Cher is the best! She’s soooo good at what she does. I’ve had my makeup done by her numerous amount of times and each time has been on point. She also has the best personality, so she is so much fun to talk to while she’s doing your makeup.

I hardly ever write Unilocal reviews, but I have to give credit when credit is due. Cheryl is AMAZING!!! I found her on Unilocal.She was very responsive and immediately available. I texted her on a Wednesday for a Monday photo shoot. She responded to my text within two minutes and scheduled my appointment. When I met her, I immediately liked her. And when she was done with my makeup I immediately LOVED her!

Sooo glad I chose Cheryl for my wedding hair and make up! She had me looking absolutely STUNNING! It even poured rain right before the ceremony and my make up completely held up! She was professional, punctual, and very pleasant to work with. Even fit in my sisters hair at the last minute.

Cheryl’s brilliant creativity never ceases to amaze! She recently did makeup for my friends and me for a party, and we all loved our transformations. Wish I could have her do my face for me every morning before I leave the house-she’s incredible at her art!

I planned my whole wedding based on reviews as I had never visited Hawaii. Therefore I am writing my first reviews based on all of the vendors I used — they will all receive 5 stars, my day was perfect.
I spoke to a few different make up artists before I talked to Cheryl, they were all booked up or they never got back to me fast enough. I’m not sure why I didn’t find Cheryl first, but am so happy I found her.
I am the indecisive bride, I did not really know what I wanted as far as hair and makeup. I had looked at many pics online and still couldn’t decide. I emailed Cheryl in panic one day, she told me not to worry nothing was a problem and I would look amazing. On the day she brought an ipad filled with photos we all went though and chose styles we liked. I wanted my hair to one side but it was very windy that day so I wasn’t sure, she pulled some magic and it all stayed together. She didn’t do anything I was uncomfortable with and she asked me ways I would normally do my make up, eg i only used eyeliner on my top lid and I wanted more natural. But I also just told her to make me look good and went with it lol. She also gave me false lashes a first for me and my sisters, we loved them.
I should also mention that Cheryl has an amazing positive personality we laughed and joked the whole time she was there It felt like having a friend over. I wasn’t scared or nervous she is very professional and you can trust her from the start, she made it a very fun experience.
When we were finished I looked in the mirror and was like damn i look good haha! I had so many compliments and I felt amazing the whole day. My makeup and hair lasted the whole day/​night as well.
Thanks Cheryl, you and your team are amazing. I wish I did a makeup course with her and brought some of her makeup — she has her own brand that many of the make up artists in Waikiki use.

I would recommend Cheryl to everyone I know for hair and makeup for any special occasion. Her personality, talent, and great customer service is commendable. She made me feel like a celebrity for a day!

As somebody who works in the service industry and sees many clients day in and day out, I have the greatest respect for Cheryl and how she conducts her business and presents herself to her clients.
I texted her about 5 hours before I needed last-​minute hair and makeup done for my engagement shoot, and she was able to accommodate me in her home studio on her normal *day off*. I know what it feels like to go the extra mile, and think «it’s not a big deal, and I can make a buck or two while I’m at it,» but I can still never be thankful enough, because I traveled all the way from CA to Hawaii for 36 hours just to do this shoot.
Cheryl made me feel so comfortable right away. She asked me a couple questions about the type of make up and hair look that I was going for, and I put the rest in her hands. We were chatting away the entire hour and I barely noticed the brushes on my face and eyelids. I felt like I was having girl talk with one of my girlfriends. Finally, when I looked into the mirror I was amazed. She did ALL THAT while were talking?! Lol. True professional.
Usually when I get professional make up done I feel like I don’t recognize myself, and something’s just not right! But holy cow, I never knew my eyes and face could look done up but in such a natural way. Cheryl might have inspired me to do my own make up more often!
In the end, Cheryl discovered I loved Olaf from Frozen, and gave me a gift that I am sure will last in my family for many years to come. A 3 foot tall stuffed Olaf! Haha! Should have seen the look on my husband’s face when he came to pick me up and I was holding that thing!
Cheryl’s prices are competitive, she’s super fast to respond, trustworthy, skilled, and exudes positive energy. Thank you a million times, Cheryl. You are one of a kind & deserve every success.

Cheryl is a OUTSTANDING hair stylist and makeup artist! Her team is awesome! When I saw the finished me, I couldn’t believe it… I was transformed. She is truly talented, sweet, welcoming, professional and puts your mind at ease. I love her! If anyone is getting married or having a special occasion. GO SEE CHERYL! Highly recommended!

I went with Cheryl Hazelgrove and her hair/​makeup business for my Oahu wedding in October 2015 because of her basically perfect Unilocal rating (also, I figured if Unilocal CM Emi H. loved her for her wedding, I would too!). And it’s true, I loved working with Cheryl’s team for my wedding. Monica (I love you, woman!!) took care of my hair and makeup on my big day. I had a trial with her a few days before in Cheryl’s BOSS studio (you’ll know what I mean if you ever get a chance to get done up there). She was so sweet, she listened to what I wanted, was attentive to what I maybe wasn’t articulate enough to say I wanted/didn’t want, and most of all, talented. My mom and 5 bridesmaids also had their hair and makeup done by the team. Emily (hair/​makeup) and Crystal (hair) came out to our getting-​ready site for the job. The whole experience was as fun and memorable as I always pictured it would be.
Cheryl herself was on vacation on the date of my wedding, which she was quick to disclose back when I first contacted her two months before. I was initially iffy about going with her studio for this reason – I worried that perhaps only Cheryl had done the hair/​makeup of the brides in all the reviews I had read. I was eventually sold on the fact that Cheryl was super communicative and sweet with me throughout the booking process (which was important since I was planning the wedding from California). She was also able to offer me a discount given my large group of ladies. Finally, Monica and the other artists turned out to be awesome, so it didn’t matter in that sense that Cheryl had not been there.
The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 was because I was really anticipating receiving those touch-​up kits for the day of mentioned in several Unilocal reviews, also quoted to me as part of the package in one of my first emails with Cheryl. As the getting-​ready experience was drawing to a close on the wedding day, I asked Monica about the kits, and she didn’t seem to know what I was talking about. Accordingly, none of my bridesmaids or I were able to keep our faces fresh and retouched throughout the day with the same makeup we were given that morning. If I’m being 100% honest, it didn’t really matter *that* much, as I was so busy that day that I don’t even know when I would have had time to reapply makeup. That being said, Cheryl and her team could have communicated more about this important element prior to my date, as it was sort of a selling point. I did let Cheryl know about this later, and she was apologetic.

Cheryl did my hair and make up for my beach wedding on 09÷19÷15 and she did such an amazing job! The reviews on Unilocal made call her right away in March before she got booked on my day. I don’t usually wear makeup on a day-​to-​day basis and the transformation she created was astounding. The makeup was flawless and lasted all day long (11am-10:30pm) with very little touch up needed. I loved how her line of makeup felt like it was not caked on, even though it technically was, especially for the photos. It was extremely convenient as well because she came to my hotel room to do my hair and make up.
My hair was French braided into a side-​swept pony of beautiful curls, and she somehow created the wavy bangs look. The curls didn’t last too long because my wedding was on the beach and the humidity got to it, but it never went flat as my Asian hair usually does. The updo itself was perfect all night long.
She also gave me a small touch up kit to use if I had to. My bridesmaids were done up as well by Cheryl and her assistant and they turned out gorgeous as well.
As busy as Cheryl sounds, she still responded to my email asking questions about her line of products. I have no idea what to do with the kinds of makeup products out there because no one ever taught me and Cheryl was most helpful with that.

I don’t think anything I could write here could adequately express how wonderful Cheryl Hazelgrove is. Not only is she a delightful human being, she is also an extremely talented hair & make-​up artist. I was lucky enough to stumble across Cheryl when organising my Oahu wedding from Australia. She made it such a simple process and I was confident I was in good hands. Cheryl provided a schedule of timings for the day and texted me the day before to assure me she would be at my hotel the following day as planned. She arrived on time, greeted me with a hug and I really enjoyed spending the next couple of hours with her while she worked her magic. She was so warm and friendly, more like a friend than somebody I had just met. She took the time to understand the look I wanted (which was kind of vague) and executed it beautifully. I was thrilled and felt like a princess. I could not recommend Cheryl Hazelgrove highly enough.

Cheryl did my hair and make up for my wedding last month on the 25^th, and boy let me tell you!
I have already been so skeptical about hiring online and didn’t know what to look for in a makeup artist. I came across her reviews on Unilocal and decided to go with her.
I didn’t get to do a trial run, and of course that made me s bit nervous. I thought to myself «what if it doesn’t come out how I like it?» Or «what if she has the wrong colors» and so on.
The minute she walked into the dressing room on my wedding day, I immediately could tell she was very fun and personable, which of course calmed me down.
I shown her the look I wanted once and she went to work. She made suggestions and I went with it and I’m so glad I did! When she was done, I looked at myself once and was sooo happy with the results. Didn’t have to change anything or ask her to do something different! I felt so beautiful and my husband couldn’t stop complimenting on my make up and hair. I got a lot of compliments from my guests and at the end of the night, my makeup and hair were still on point!
She gave me a free touch up kit which I didn’t even need to use! Thank you so much Cheryl! I will definitely be referring you to ALL my friends who are getting married! You are a miracle worker!

Cheryl and her crew were absolutely the best! Cheryl was very responsive to emails, easy to schedule with, and delivered as promised. We did hair and makeup for 5 ladies, and it came out amazing. Even in the extreme heat and humidity we had that day, we still looked fabulous. A couple days after our event, I noticed a billing discrepancy, and Cheryl took care of it right away. It is so nice to work with good business owners. I definitely recommend Cherbu for hair and make up for any event!

Cheryl and her team are AMAZING! Wedding hair and makeup were on point, thanks to Cheryl and her fabulous team. I had bridal hair/​makeup done by Cheryl, and then my bridesmaids had hair done by her team. All of the girls’ hair looked great and my bridesmaids could not stop talking about how awesome Cheryl and her assistants were. They were very professional but also fun and personable, and they also gave us great suggestions/​recommendations on questions we had about how we should do our hair. My bridesmaids are all from the mainland and they were even asking Cheryl if she could come to the mainland to do their weddings next year! haha =)
Cheryl also was very accommodating and was able to add my mother-in-law’s hair/​makeup into the schedule, on very short notice. (I informed her just the night before). Cheryl and her team were also very receptive to my concerns. For example, my mother had recently permed her hair, and I think that it makes her look 10 years older (she is still in her 50’s). I asked the team if they could style her hair to make her look younger, and not older, haha. They styled her hair accordingly and even gave her side-​swept bangs, which made her look so much better. We were all so happy with the end result, including my mom!
Cheryl also provided a little goody bag/​makeup kit so that I could touch up my makeup during the day. It included a set of bobby pins, hair spray, eyelash glue, and the lipgloss that she initially put on me in the morning. These definitely came in handy especially after taking photos on the beach with the wind blowing my hair all over the place.
Unfortunately I don’t have any close-​up pictures of my hair and makeup but believe me, we were all so happy with the outcome and the service we received. She really does amazing work and her prices are sooo reasonable too. That’s another thing I love about her! Oh, and she takes credit cards so it’s so convenient to pay her.
I highly recommend her for hair/​makeup especially for bridal! I’m sad that the wedding festivities are over so I have no excuse to have my makeup/​hair done by her. I guess now I’ll have to come up with an excuse to be able to book her again. =)

Once I decided on having a destination wedding in Hawaii, the next thing I did was searched for a makeup artist. Cheryl came up on Unilocal and I based my decision on the amount of great reviews she had… and I am so glad I did.
I contacted her 3 months before I was to be in Hawaii and scheduled my appointment. The day before she confirmed our appointment and on the day of my appointment she showed up right on time. She was super sweet and very professional. It only took her a few minutes to setup before she got to work.
She does hair and makeup, but I only needed makeup. I showed her a picture of what I had in mind, and she made me look even better than I could imagine. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day thanks to Cheryl and I will always remember that.
One of my concerns was finding an artist online who could do great makeup for women of color, and Cheryl did an awesome job of putting my concerns to rest once I saw the finished product. Once she finished she left me with a little touch up kit and also a list of what she used on me, as she has her own makeup line. Of which I keep going online to place and order, but I think the product colors she used on me may be sold out.
Lastly… she was even sweet enough to come back to the hotel once she had already left because my zipper broke (my husband broke it) on my wedding dress and I panicked and I didn’t have anyone else to call so I called her. She came back and calmed my husband down because he was freaking out, and then came to me to try to help me fix my zipper. Needless to say… even she couldn’t fix what he did… but it didn’t matter because I felt beautiful anyway. lol… I got married with my dress half zipped… but who cares I felt great doing it!

I went to Cheryl for my hair and make up for my senior prom a few months ago & I was SO happy with the results.
She showed me her iPad which had different pictures of hairstyles and make ups for suggestions on what I wanted. Although I couldn’t explain what I wanted every well, she figured it out and went above & beyond my expectations.
Cheryl used her own make up products, «Cherbu» and it stayed on me all night, and being so tired, I just fell asleep without taking off my make up, the next morning it was still on, & it still looked good LOL.
Being one of the people in charge of prom, I had to be running around throughout the night & I was so worried about my hair falling but it stayed on all night.
She even gave me a little «touch-​up» kit for before I left knowing I was going to have a long day/​night ahead of me.
I got lots of compliments throughout the night and even had people asking me who did my face and hair.

Finally got some time to write a raving review for Cheryl. She did my wedding makeup back in April and also brought two ladies to do hair for the whole bridal party. On time, friendly, and speedy… I did not have to sit there for hours!
She asked me how I wanted my makeup. Based on my description and after looking together at a few pictures she brought on her iPad, she knew exactly what I wanted.
Everyone was raving about how beautiful and natural my makeup looked that day. My husband said I should get her to do my makeup everyday. Lol, what does he mean by that?! I’m still getting compliments whenever someone looks at my wedding photos. I could not be happier.
Also, big points for the ladies doing the hair. Everyone looked beautiful!

Katie Rezantes (one of the makeup artists/​hair stylists that works with Cheryl) did my hair and makeup for an outdoor morning wedding ceremony and lunch reception. I could not be happier with the result! She was patient and encouraging as I flip flopped on several ideas. She gave me final say on everything and did not make me feel at all rushed when I asked for last minute changes. The makeup (Cheryl’s own line called Cherbu) held up well under the heat of the morning/​afternoon sun.
On top of doing an absolutely amazing job, Katie was easy going, fun, and a blast to hang out with! Exactly what every bride needs just before their big day! I would recommend Katie to anyone considering getting their hair and/​or makeup done. I didn’t meet Cheryl personally but we texted a few times to coordinate. She seemed very friendly and willing to go above and beyond for her clients. With Katie as a representative of her business and makeup line, I have all the confidence that Cheryl is equally praiseworthy.

Cheryl is amazing! She was so much fun, and (I think) had fun getting me and my bridesmaids ready for my wedding. She was laid back, gave us advice on what she thought would look best, and was adaptable for our other vendors as well.
Our makeup was amaze balls! We started at 6am and the makeup lasted the WHOLE day and night. Even with all the sweat and tears people still kept commenting on how good my makeup looked.
I would recommend Cheryl to any bride that wants to look gorgeous on her wedding day.

I had pretty high expectations already for Cheryl to do our wedding hair & makeup because of the Unilocal reviews but I was still impressed by the results and their professionalism. Stressful morning, but when Cheryl and Monica arrived, they were so cool and collected that they just helped put us all at ease. Tardiness on our part caused Monica to have to stay late and she had another appointment to go to — but she was so patient about it and didn’t act upset at all, even though I’m sure it caused her some stress.
Loved my makeup & hair — I’ve never received so many compliments and I thought they did such a great job on everyone else too.
Loved how the makeup & hair stayed put all night even with some rain, but it wasn’t too heavy. Fake lashes usually don’t go well on me but Cheryl made it look good. My eyes looked so big!
I thought her prices were competitive, and she didn’t charge us travel or parking fees.
If I ever had to book hair/​makeup again, I would go to Cheryl without a second thought, and recommend her to everyone.

Cheryl did an amazing job. I decided last minute to get my hair and makeup done for my wedding just a couple months prior to the big day and i was lucky enough she was able to fit me in. The trial session went great and we hit it off instantly. She was a very easy person to talk to and had a lot of ideas since i didn’t know exactly what i wanted since i don’t normally get dolled up. On the big day, she came right on time and we finished on schedule. She even left me with a little touch up kit just in case. I would definitely book her again…

For senior prom, my mom said she would take me to Aunty Cheryl’s. I searched her up on here & all i saw was great reviews, all 5 stars, so i was confident i was going to SLAY at prom… And of course, I did!
First she did my hair. The style i wanted was based off of a pintrest picture. She made my hair look exactly like it. It stayed in place all night and only began falling apart when we left the prom. Most of it falling apart because i was dancing and jumping lol.
My makeup was perfect. She used her own Cherbu products and they were great. I never ever wear makeup so that night i was rubbing my eyes like nothing because i totally forgot. When I went to the bathroom, my makeup was still clean and perfect, there were no smudges whatsoever.

I wanted to look glamorous for my March 2014 Hawaii wedding. Cheryl came highly recommended to me by one of my good friends. I had my wedding hair/​makeup trial with her in September of last year, since I was going to attend a wedding that same day. Might as well look all done up with a place to go! She did exactly as I asked. Hair half up, half down and smoky eye makeup. I was complimented throughout the day. When I got back to San Diego and went through my photos, however, I decided that I didn’t want my hair that way after all and also didn’t want my makeup that smoky. I changed my mind on my whole wedding look. I thought she was going to kill me when I asked for a second trial. Instead, she was so patient and helpful.
I booked the second trial for January 2014, the night of my bachelorette party. This time I wanted big bombshell hair and lighter makeup. I went out that night and once again received a ton of compliments. When I got back home to San Diego and looked back at the pics, I couldn’t believe how good my hair looked! It was absolutely perfect! As for my makeup, I let her know I wanted to try a different look. Not as light– more dramatic. I’m surprised she didn’t fire ME. She said that was fine, so I had one more eye makeup trial the week before my wedding.
Let me tell you– it was worth me nitpicking myself. It was exactly what I wanted! At my wedding, she made me look absolutely gorgeous! She brought her team, who helped with my bridesmaids’ make up and hair. They’re already pretty girls, but they looked even more beautiful. Two of the bridesmaids had never had fake lashes before and it made such a difference in their look! Not to mention my 9 year old niece. She put curls in her hair, eye glitter, and lipgloss, all complimentary. She felt and looked like a little princess.
Cheryl was not only extremely professional during my whole «mini bridezilla» ordeal, but she was so kind and personable as well. I am grateful I found a makeup artist who was so accommodating to my somewhat diva nature– I know I’m not the easiest person to deal with! It was fun to work with her. She contributed to the joy of my wedding day! I will definitely see her again when I have an event in Hawaii!

Not 5-​stars, but 5000 STARS!!!
Hair and make-​up are so important on your wedding day because in the end all you have to remember is the way you felt and the way you looked in photos. I had asked my hairstylist if he’d do my hair for my wedding but he told me he doesn’t do weddings and instead referred me to Cheryl. I knew that there was no way he’d steer me wrong and booked her and her team right away.
After talking to Cheryl on the phone and sending some emails, I was impressed because not only does Cheryl get back to you very quickly but she also lays everything out for you in a timeline so there’s no confusion about what to expect. All I had to do was send her timeline to my bridesmaids and mothers so everyone knew what time to arrive. I asked Cheryl if I should do a pre-​wedding test run and she told me it was completely up to me, BUT she added that she was completely confident that she could give me exactly what I wanted on my wedding day without it. Bold words and I decided to trust that she knew what she was doing.
The day of my wedding arrived and Cheryl’s team came to my house 30 minutes early to start prepping for hair and make-​up to begin. I had originally wanted the bridesmaids hair to be down but we ended up deciding to put it up because of the humidity and possible winds at the ceremony site. Thank goodness we did that because it was so windy that it would have ruined everyone’s beautifully coifed hairstyles. Cheryl personally took care of my hair and make-​up and I loved that she helped me figure out what I wanted with an array of photos on an iPad. Everything from hairstyles to make-​up so that I would get exactly what I wanted. It was GENIUS!!! I could not have been more happy with the results!
But the best part of this review happened AFTER my ceremony. Cheryl was nice enough to fix my hair after it had been ruined by the crazy wind at my ceremony. It just so happens that her studio was in the very same building as my reception and I went up for a quick fix. Is that the Universe working in harmony or what?! It amazed me how quickly she was able to touch up everything and make me feel as beautiful as possible on my wedding day. It really made a huge difference and I’ll be forever grateful that she was there to help!
As a bride you’re going to really love working with Cheryl because she has the most positive attitude and her make-​up lasts forever! She also gives you an adorable touch up kit that has your lipstick, lip gloss, powder, hairspray, eyelash glue, mints, and even a piece of chocolate! GENIUS, PURE GENIUS!

I first met Cheryl at my friends wedding in March. She did our brides hair and makeup and she looked GORGEOUS! I loved her work sooooo much that I hired her for a Navy ball that I attended.
I’ve always gotten my makeup and hair done at different places when attending big events. However, after getting my hair and makeup from Cheryl, I received NUMEROUS compliments from both women and men… I even made one of the wives jealous because apparently, her husband wouldn’t stop staring LOL!
Cheryl uses her own makeup line called «Cherbu» and its hypo-​allergenic. What I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE about her makeup is that it lasts a very long time!
I loved her makeup so much that I purchased some before my Vegas trip. One night I went to the club, woke up the next day, brushed my teeth, cleaned up around the eyes and went to a wedding the next day. The makeup was still on! (I only did this because I was super hungover and woke up late for the wedding — Vegas baby!!) The best part about her makeup is that her make up doesn’t make me breakout like some other products do. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE her eyeliner! That thing doesn’t smear and it stays!!!
