Anna is the greatest person in that shop! She is so professional and made me comfortable every time I went. We would talk and joke about everything. She became such a good friend. I went to her for 2 and a half years, until I had to move (Army). If you read this Anna, make sure you open that shop of yours and let me know so I can come!

If you’re looking to get a Brazilian Wax here, most definitely go to Erika!!! She is so professional, very nice, and she talks to you while getting it done, so the waxing doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable whatsoever. She is very thorough to get every last hair out and does her job at her best.
However, I recently went to Tiffany because Erika was unavailable and I needed to get it done asap. From the experiences I had getting Brazilian waxes here, I figured this appointment would be no different, I was wrong. I don’t even know where to begin, I was so uncomfortable from the start because it was dead silence while she was doing my waxing. It also seemed like she was rushing and careless. The way she does her waxing is very messy, and it seemed like she was very hesitant about where to wax, how to wax, and what wax to use. After my waxing session was done, I seen there was still quite a few hairs left over, she didn’t care to overlook to see if any hair was left or at least tweeze them out. Knowing for the price I pay for a Brazilian here and driving from the west side just to get waxed here, I expected more. I’m never going to her again!!! Such a disappointing appointment. I’m sticking to Erika!
I don’t usually write reviews so this took a lot for me to write.

I’ve only experienced waxing, sugaring and threading here. And to tell you the truth I’ve had some really awful experiences here but at the same time I’ve had some really excellent ones. I think I’ve been here enough times to figure out which aestheticians I prefer and which ones aren’t so great. So far I’ve tried a few different waxers at BB but I always seem to go back to Anna! She’s very meticulous with her work so I always feel I’ve had my money’s worth. Anna also offers sugaring which I now prefer over waxing – better for the skin. I’ve also recently been going to Erika for brow threading and I cannot tell you how amazing her work is. Both of these ladies can stay pretty booked so be sure to make appointments early.
I think one of the reasons I keep coming back to BB despite other salons having very talented aestheticians is because BB’s online/​app booking system works so great. More salons should use this format, I think.

I had a waxing session.
I’ve had a lot of waxing and I didn’t think she did a professional job.
My skin is red and ripped up — which I’ve never seen before.
There are random hairs all over — she didn’t carefully double check it.
Also, they charged me more than they quoted.

So, Anna is the best esthetician working on the Island. She is very detail and loves her job. Please see her for all your threading, sugaring, and waxing needs.

I needed my brows to be done extremely bushy and just not on fleek at all!!! Yesterday my boyfriend said he needed his eyebrows to be cleaned so I booked us two appointments one at 330, one at 345 for the next day online. We had Erika who threaded our eyebrows! They haven’t looked so good in such a long time! Thank you! My only complaint is that it’s really expensive! Otherwise it was really amazing ! I recommend Erika!

I came here last year with an appointment with Tiffany. She was amazing! My session felt like less than 30 minutes. She kept on engaging me in conversation that I didn’t have time to feel the pain! I would have to say this session was one of my best experiences of Brazilian wax on Oahu. I would like to give her 5 stars for her work.
However, my recent session with Jenny was the most horrifying unprofessional experience. I have never been to a waxing salon where people use the waxing strip more than three times continuously on one location. When removing my hair, she repeatedly «patted» the same location… I counted and some areas she did over 20 times in a painful way. Anyone who gets a Brazilian knows that this done repeatedly hurts! She also applied hot wax continuously for 2 – 3 times in a row, which also I have never experienced. Moreover, she proceeded to ask me to hold onto parts of my skin, which made my hands incredibly sticky with wax. In my years of experience, I have never had someone ask to me to hold areas of my stomach. It was so painful and she also didn’t get all the hair removed.
I didn’t know what to say… I paid and stormed out of there!
I’m sorry, but I will never return here for a Brazilian wax with Jenny.

I was desperate to get my brows did and good thing there’s this thing called Unilocal.This place seemed like alot of people was satisfied with their services and so decided to try this place out. I normally wax my brows but heard about threading and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. It was really easy making an appointment (I signed up online and was able to make appointment for the next morning and even got to see and select the appointment times.
On to the thread… Erika was super nice and personable. It was an interesting sensation feeling the thread roll and pulling hair at the same time. It was fast and to me, not less or more painful than waxing. Erika did an awesome job. So if you’re in pickle, check this place out.

long story short. I asked the girl doing my brows not to over thread my eyebrows in fears of them coming out too thin… and thats exactly what she did. All I will say is. go to Etka, she is the only person worth going to. If you get anyone else. beware :/

I give Erika 5 stars! She has a wonderful, bright personality and provides fantastic wax service!

This review is for Erika. I stumbled across beyond bare about 2 months ago when I was trying to go to the brow bar in macys at ala moana but couldn’t get in (I wouldn’t recommend that place to anyone btw) so just searched places nearby on my phone and found it. I got an appointment with Erika and she offered to thread my brows instead of waxing my brows which I had only ever done before. I agreed to try and I loved the results, she was also very friendly and pleasant to be around. I left happy but I live on the north shore and hardly make it to town so wasn’t sure if I’d be able to keep coming back here.
Now it’s been about 2 months and I desperately wanted to get my brows done again and happened to be in town for a work meeting and thought well why not just text Erika (she gave me her business card last time) and she if she can fit me in real quick. So I texted her and this is Sat morning about 9am. She responded pretty quickly not knowing who I was and told me she had an afternoon appointment available but I did not want to stay all day in town and asked if there was any way she could fit me in sooner. She said she was very booked but then said to come right in and she would do me before her first appointment! I jumped in my car and got right over. She did again a great job and was so friendly. Thank you Erika I appreciate it and I will be coming back definitely!

I’m from the mainland. I went to the same threader and the same waxer for years because they did a great job. So naturally moving to Hawaii I had quite a bit of anxiety.
Do you know how hard it is to find threaders on this rock? Damn near impossible. I thankfully found Beyond Bare via Unilocal and I’m a risk taker so despite all the negative reviews, I got my brows and brazilian done by Erika.
I don’t know what the negative reviews are about because Erika was GREAT. I just let her know before hand how I wanted my eyebrows to look and she did it! My eyebrows look polished and have a shape again after 6 weeks of growing (I usually go every 3 weeks)
The brazilian was also great, it’d been a while but she was very thorough and made sure to get every last hair.
Also the rest of the staff was very nice and accommodating! I’d say based on what I was paying on the mainland ($ 15 for eyebrow/​upper lip and $ 33 for a brazilian) it’s definitely pricier but that’s Paradise Tax, friends!

Quick service. Brow threading was okay but probably a little overpriced for the quality.

I only come here for Etka’s service, and that’s about it. A few times I have booked someone else for threading, but only because Etka wasn’t available.
Not gonna mention names, but I did not like my non-​Etka experience at all.
The girl I had was too rough and I felt as if it was rushed and not thorough at all. Oddly, I was out of there within five minutes instead of the usual 10 – 15 min. Some people would find this great, unless you walk out of the salon with a strangely butchered eyebrow, which so happens to be my case.
I decided to keep it 4 stars since the threading girls here are friendly, although I would not go back them unless they were just as skilled as Etka. Sorry!

Review for eyebrow & upper lip threading done by Ekta — Cost: $ 36.50
So I was in a rush to find a threading place open on Sundays, and alas, Unilocal provides. I decided to make an appointment online (super convenient!!) with Ekta based on her rave reviews and was not disappointed.
This was the most painless threading I’ve had done. Normally I cry a lot more, but I only shed a single tear ‚)
The cost of maintenance and rent for this place must be expensive due to their location, and their price reflects it. I’m not sure if I can justify paying 40% more than usual for my monthly brow & lip fix, but for the convenience of appointments and times, I love Beyond Bare.

My appointment was at 4:30, I was checked in at 4:50. I was told I couldn’t get all my services done because they screwed up something. I got a wax here and the wax was fine butThe employees are unwelcoming and the lady that waxed me talked way way way too much and the room was filthy. There was a roach by the door on the wall.
I do not recommend anyone going here for a wax. It was pretty gross.

I had been referred to this place from a friend for threading, and had made my appointment days in advance. Because of their hours and my schedule working full time and having a young child, I took leave from work to attend this appointment. I came half an hour early in the hopes that they could take me early, the receptionist politely told me the person performing my service was booked back to back– no problem at all. Did some shopping and came back at 2:30. I saw a woman, sitting in the back of the salon waiting, and 5 mins later, she went into a private room. I had no idea that this was the person who was supposed to be doing my threading– she saw me waiting for my appointment, and took another client AT my appointment time.
After waiting 15 minutes, I asked the receptionist what was going on– she said she’d be out soon. 5 minutes later, I asked if I was going to have to wait half an hour and if she could ask the woman when she’d be done. The woman said she’d be done in 5 minutes, 5 minutes later she said she’d be done in 2 minutes. By that time I had been waiting for half an hour. As a first time customer who could potentially provide consistent business for this company, I expected much more respect and consideration. If I hadn’t requested the receptionist to ask what was going on, I guarentee they would have had me sitting there clueless for 40 minutes or more.
I felt completely disrespected, as I’d wasted my time to drive all the way down there and had to use leave I value to be away from work. The receptionist was kind, but very young and inexperienced in customer service. That woman needs to realize that there are many people that thread on this island– she is nothing special and can easily be replaced. Her lack of respect resulted in this company losing my business and I will advise everyone I know to never use this establishement.

As soon as I was going to give up on finding a place to get a good brow waxing, I found this place and I couldn’t be more happier.
Located on the fourth floor of the mall nearest Macy’s, Beyond Bare Waxing offers a lot of services, from waxing, mani/​pedis, and even hair cuts. This place has it all. They offer online booking which is very convenient for me, this scheduling allows me to see what days and what time the esthetician, or person you want to see, is free.
Prior to visiting, I was in a love hate relationship with my eyebrows. That all changed until I met Anna, who introduced me to threading. If you’ve never tried, I highly suggest it at least once and with Anna. She definitely knows her brows and always makes sure you are comfortable and satisfied. I’ve been visiting her for a little more than six months and I’ve never left disappointed.
I’ve also been here to get a pedicure. Although this place is very small, I enjoyed my pedicure experience. Since it was just me, I was very relaxed and comfortable. The person who did my pedicure, I’m so disappointed I did not get her name, she was amazing! I’ve been to a lot of nail salons, but BBW gave me the best pedicure hands down. I will definitely be back to see the unknown nail attendant.
I highly suggest.

I finally went back today for my eyelash perm re-​do and brow threading. This time Maylanne did my perm with rods instead of clips and the curl came out better.
I had to wait about 45 min after for my brow and upper lip threading with Ekta. Glad I waited because she did a wonderful job — clean and shaped beautifully. I’ll definetely be coming back to Etka for my brows!

She is AMAZING!!! I kind of don’t want to tell you guys because she’ll never have an opening for me ;)
I’ve seen her twice for threading and i fell in love both times. I’ve never tried threading before but after reading the reviews on Unilocal for Erika, I just had to try it. I told her it was my first time and she was very kind and talked me through it.
All I have to say is that she is great! She’s bubbly and talks to you while she’s threading to distract you. It’s not painful but you can feel the hair being pulled. Kind of like plucking if you had to describe it. Personally, I hate plucking but I can handle threading.
She also has a stamp card for her clients. So after a certain amount of services you’ll get a discount or something.
If you are wanting to try threading, I highly suggest you see Erika.
What’s also great is that you can make appointments online. I made an appointment online at nine this morning and got an appointment for Erika at eleven that same day.
