Absolutely AWESOME! By happen stands we stumbled upon this wonderful gem. Local grinds and iff the beaten path.

I have family visiting for the mainland and wanted them to try some Puerto Rican food. Because it takes so much work, I would rather buy than make now days. I ordered some pastels(only had 4 left) and 2 containers of Metuda. Everyone loved it. I wish I had ordered more. I would like to try the gandules rice and metuda pizza and panadija. They are only open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8am to 1 pm. But if you like this kind of food or just wanna try it, you should definitely find time to check it out!

Tried the soul food at the street grindz food truck event. SOONO!!! The greens reminded me of home, and the brisket was so tender, juicy, and flavorful.

Aunty Née’s is perfect for breakfast or lunch! The food is authentic and delicious! The Metuda is the bomb! It warms your stomach and just makes you happy! The portions are more than fulfilling and hits the spot just right:) I had Metuda and roasted chicken with Mac salad and rice. My boyfriend had Pastele and Metuda over gondules rice with bacalao salad, nothing left on our plates it was so Ono! She also offers other creative tasty deserts you should try, Aunty is always cooking it up! If she recommends something try it, you’ll just be wanting more!

Located in mapunapuna, hidden with all the other industrial businesses. A small shop with just 1 worker when we went for lunch. You can’t miss it with it’s lavender colored sign. It is best to call early for your order, like I mentioned small shop so they make a limited amount of food and when it’s gone it’s gone. There is a little space for parking right in the front of store, this is convenient because if you ever gone to mapunapuna, parking can be a pain. When you walk in, there are 2 small tables if you choose to eat there. Cozy and small. The inside is also lavender. Menu and specials are on the wall. Greeted by a friendly lady, phone order was ready for pick up. Gandule rice was very tasty and good. The rice was filling enough and didn’t need side dishes. Metuda pork was oh soo flavorful. They were not stingy with the pork either. Only down side, dish had a lot of fat, big and small, and pieces of bone. Don’t get me wrong, I love fat but to much of a good thing, not so good. Fried chicken was average, and just ok. Bread pudding was a winnah. I love my bread pudding and it wasn’t to sweet or bland, but just right. Close to work, so when I get my Puerto Rican cravings, I know where to go.

Luckily for me this place is right next to my work. Aunty is always super sweet and is nice to talk to in the morning when work can be stressful. Let’s not forget the food. If you haven’t had Puerto Rican food you are certainly in for a treat! I highly recommend the metuda omelette over gandule rice. The melted cheese of the omelette is sooo good. It is a little heavy but if you are working hard it shouldn’t be a problem. Also because Mapunapuna is sparse for eateries it is very nice to have a great place like this to go to.

Left home early to pick up my coworker and head there for breakfast. What a disappointment! They open at 8:00 not 5:00 like it states here :(Jets…here we come.

Aunty Née’s Kitchen is a small take out restaurant with a fun personality, from the purple walls to the zebra cushions. Aunty talks up her guests while serving up plates of Metuda with Gandule Rice, Pastele, Chorizo with Eggs, and other home-style favorites. When I went, the off the menu choices included Ham Hock and Beans, and Shoyu Chicken. Prices range from $ 5 for a sandwich, $ 8 for breakfast, and $ 8 – 12 for lunch plates. Aunty’s cooking is not for the weak of heart. This is meaty, carb lovin, comfort food and we left stuffed, with leftovers to enjoy later. The Metuda and Gandule Rice is porky goodness, and I found myself picking out the Portuguese sausage from the Ham Hock and Beans which is on the sweet side. I even took home Aunty’s butter mochi, which wasn’t too sweet, and after a couple of rounds in the toaster oven, was crunchy on the outside and melty on the inside. Here’s a tip if you’re planning to check this place out: call ahead if you want the Pizza otherwise you might be disappointed. I’ll get cravings for the Metuda and like to stop by for lunch when I’m in Mapunapuna. Definitely check this place out if you like Puerto Rican food.

Changed a lot on the menu, but the taste and flavors are still great! The new popular item: metuda pizza! Freshly made, and runs out fast.
