Don’t buy tickets!!! I purchased tickets and made reservations for my trip to Honolulu. When I arrived in Honolulu the show«was on hiatus». How disappointing! We had scheduled our weekend in Waikiki around that show, and it was too late to get tickets to a luau or anything else. Don’t waste a precious moment or dollar on this«show».

Booked months and prepaid in advance. Aloha live changed my reservation date 3 weeks before my scheduled flight and caused me to change my vacation plans for that day, but they confirmed the new date with me. I show up to the queen Kapiolani hotel on the date as instructed. Only to find out that all shows have been cancelled without prior notice. I was absolutely livid. Attempts made to contact company has failed and no refund given. BEWARE!!!

This was just a fun show with some really talented acts. It’s on a small stage up on a pool deck overlooking Waikiki. The performers mix it up with the audience. They called up volunteers for a knife juggling act, the hot hula dancer and the muscley guy in a loin cloth posed for photos and everyone hung out with us chatted after the show. When I go again I plan to see if we can go swimming beforehand(not sure if you can, but it’s a beautiful spot). And about the menu, it has a kind of a Mexican-Korean vibe. We had the quesadillas and the kalbi, which were both awesome. And we had margaritas. It was a good time and we’ll go again.

Went to this show after seeing the promotions for it. Decided not to go for the dinner as it was out of my price range but the food smelled really good. First of all let me say that the talent was pretty incredible. The show starts off with some light hearted fun performed by Villi the Warrior, he is very funny and fun to watch. The Polynesian dancers were also fun to watch, it is just a pity there are only two, but they move together beautifully and you can tell by watching that they have studied the Art form. The fire knife dancer was so energetic and really pumped up the crowd. There is the mix of excitement and danger as he moves around the stage with the fire swirling all around him. He seems almost wild as he performs. as for the circus part, by far the most impressive were the Jugglers, the Crystal ball juggler in particular is quite mesmerizing but his partner with whom he performs club juggling is a very skilled performer. Their final stunt in the duel juggling act will leave you gasping. The Show also has two Aerial performers, who fly through the air and make the impossible stunts they perform seem effortless. The pair give off a lot of sparks during their performance and give the the show an air of romance. all in all there is a lot of talent in this show. however…there are some flaws, the stage is set out doors with a beautiful view of Diamond Head but it exposes performers and the audience to wind and rain. The stage seems a bit too small for some of the performances and while all the performers did well there doesn’t seem to be a storyline or flow, the performances seem segmented. The show isn’t really a LUAU type show, it’s more like a dinner show but all in all very entertaining.

The show was a BIGJOKE, I can’t even call it a show this would be definitive case of false advertisement. At least there was a sense of consistency demonstrated by the whole amateur crew from waitress to the big shot producer~ complete lack of refinement, polish and anything that can be remotely called a professionally put together quality entertainment. The overall«performance» was not even on a level of a homeless traveling circus and this is an understatement. A complete waste of time indeed-buyers be aware!

We were here for Wednesday show. We purchased our tickets from Groupon. Thank god we did. The VIP tickets for two were $ 69. Don’t add the dinner for $ 35 because it’s a huge joke. You can order ala carte and save some money. The Kalibi Beef plate or just come here for just the show only. The Hostess was not so bright like the rest of the staff. She didn’t give us the correct bands and seating arrangement. Let’s continue with this review. The Producer of the show(who looks like Dustin Hoffman) came around our table to apologize for the confusion of the staff which they are all new to the event. The Aloha Live is a new show here and it shows. Very disorganized and low budgeted. The show was entertaining the Flame thrower missed catching the thrower and it almost landed on our table. Yikes! The show needs a lot of work. It’s very RAW. To top it off it started to rain which delayed the show. Most of the guest had to run in for cover. This event seemed to be like a really bad comedy movie of how to produce a dinner show on a budget. If, you do purchase tickets don’t expect too much. Lower your expectation to the lowest level. The only PRO is seeing Jordan Segundo from American Idol Season 2.

Went to see this show earlier tonight with my husband. We had purchased the $ 38 Groupon deal and it was so worth it! The show started off with Vili the Warrior warming up the crowd and doing a traditional Haka– warrior slap dance. Then Vili picked two guys from the audience, one from Maui and the other from Japan, to get up and drum with him. Hilarious!!! Then the show proceeded to the actual performances– the ‘cirque’-like acrobats, jugglers, singer, Tahitian dancers, and fire knife dance. The whole show was entertaining, but it seemed like they could use a little refining with the sound as far as making sure the music & narration was in order. Other than that, I would recommend this show. It has great variety and is entertaining for all ages.

A CIRCUS and HULA show with Diamond Head as the background is the perfect place to entertain your tourist friends. Skip the dinner, and enjoy the 75min show! LOCATION: Queen Kapiolani Hotel, rooftop pool deck. $ 5 valet parking with validation in the hotel. PRICE: Um. I had a Groupon but there are kama’aina discounts(I think it was $ 43 for the show only) and if you are staying in the hotel you get a discount as well. Do you remember Vili the warrior? He has reappeared in a hilariously entertaining opening act with the famous Haka and audience participation numbers.(And if you remember Vili, there’s another former UH warrior who makes an appearance as the Samoan fire thrower/dancer) The«cirque» part of the show involves acrobats, jugglers, contortionists, silk sheet aerialists, floating balls and more. These performers are in top shape and make my workout look like child’s play. I heard my son going«Ohhhhh nooooo wayyyy» during many of the different acts as they do things that just seem impossible. The«hula» part of the show involved Tahitian dancers, Samoan fire throwers and more. This show is unique. It’s outdoors. You get seated during the daylight with Diamond Head as the gorgeous background. It ends at night in the dark with the fire dancer. It does get windy and I was worried about the wind blowing the Chinese acrobats over during their gravity defying chair tower but they nailed it. Thank you to Josie C. for putting this one on my Unilocal radar and for mentioning that there was a Groupon for it. I have friends from CA that visit every year and we needed to find something they haven’t done yet, so this was perfect. If we didn’t have the Groupon, it would have been too expensive for all of us to attend. Remember, my review is for the SHOWONLY(not the dinner), which I recommend for both tourists and locals.

Aloha Live was a great show. Each act was short and sweet but entertaining. There were acrobats and hula dancers. The dinner, however, was terrible. It was not worth thirty-some dollars. I had the tenderloin and shrimp, and the tenderloin was burnt(I asked for medium-well), and the cream sauce on the shrimp was bland. The mashed potatoes were not from real potatoes; it was definitely from a box. And this is all supposedly cooked from an «award-winning chef.»

It was great to know that there is another show in Waikiki. But this show has one thing the others don’t have: a beautiful backdrop of Diamond Head! Located on the pool level of the Queen Kapiolani Hotel, you have a choice of taking the dinner/show package or just the show. Tonight we did the dinner/show package. The dinner consisted of a basic all you can eat salad and fruit bar, soup(tonight there was vegetable soup and clam chowder), coffee & tea station and a dessert table. For the main entrée, you have a choice of one out of 3 pre set menu. Tonight we had a choice of: — beef tenderloin with salmon — beef tenderloin with shrimp — ribeye Tonight I chose the beef tenderloin(medium) with shrimp. The tenderloin was very soft and moist. Very tasty. I enjoyed it much more than I did the shrimp which seemed to be mixed with some kind of other ingredients and then shaped back into the shape of a shrimp. It was okay. But on to the show… The setting was intimate. The seating is kept to a minimum of about a hundred people which made it comfortable as we all sat under the stars. Vili the Warrior opens up the hour show involving his warrior drums. He attempts to transform two audience volunteers into Hawaiian warriors which made for a humorous opening act. The show then continues on with a half circus half luau performances including polynesian dancers, contortionists, aerial hoop and silk dancers, fire knife, & amazing juggling acts. The show is fairly new so there was a few lags and technical difficulties; but nothing drastic that they can’t get better on as the show continues. I have been to many shows in Hawaii so am very familiar with the usual Polynesian acts. «Aloha Live» was different and refreshing. It made me laugh, it «wow’d» me, and it made me wanna shout«cheeehoo» all night! Oh no wait, I did! Ha! Great show! Great night! Definitely a fan! (Tip: Check Groupon for special deals. Also, if you want to bring visitors to any shows in Hawaii, I suggest«breaking them» into it with this show. It’s different and will prepare them for the many Polynesian acts they’ll see for the rest of their stay)
