This place is now called The Nail Story. Only reason I ended up here was because I was feeling too lazy to walk to Washington street to get a pedicure, which was a pretty dumb move on my part. Anywhere in Hoboken you can get an awesome mani+pedi for $ 25-$ 30, TOPS. I am a runner, and my feet get pretty destroyed so I generally only get pedis when things are lookin rough. So when I walked in the guy told me $ 25 for a pedi and I figured I’d get the best. pedi. ever. WRONG. They asked for an extra $ 7 to scrape the dead skin off my feet, a service which comes standard anywhere. I said no. The lady did some half-assed job overall and when I asked for change, she pretended not to know English and gave herself an extra $ 4 tip. I asked three times for change and finally got so fed up I just left. This place sucks. Avoid it like the plague.

This place is horrible. The owner just makes up whatever prices she deems appropriate, and they are not cheap. The service is terrible, and she is extremely rude. I would beg anyone considering this place not to give her you rmoney.

HORRENDOUSANDDIRTY! The owner/manager got annoyed I didn’t leave more than a 20% tip. She adds things onto your service then overcharges when all is said and done. Extremely rude and the opposite of a relaxing experience! Will never go back. Also, just realized they are opening under a new name — «The Nail Story» I believe. but looks like the same management. So disappointing.

I am so disappointed that I didn’t read these reviews before going here. I stopped in for an eye brow wax and the woman used sticks on me that we’re already used and continued to double dip in the wax. I should have just stopped her and left because it was so unsanitary. Her tools were not clean and she did not wear gloves. Clearly they do not care about the business or the health of their customers. Never again. There are a ton of other places in the area, so avoid at all costs. Also, I think they are trying to re brand the name so it may not be called this anymore but the address is the same.

Omg!!! Horrible! I have never ever been to such a terrible place. They continuously hovered over me asking me why i didnt want the $ 62 tips vs a regular $ 18 manicure! Really? I just wanted to say leave me alone!!! Then the lady that was scraping my feet utensil fell in the garbage can an then picked it right back up until i said please stop. The owner is very very rude and money hungry. I was drying my nails and everytime i took it out the drying pad to scroll on my phone she physically took my hands an places them back maybe a total of 6x! I wanted to tell her stop touching me! Then what put the icing on the cake 3 women worked on my hands and feet 2 of them switching back an forth so i just gave 2 women tips that really actually did my nails, then when she saw i was leaving she had the nerve to ask for a tip for the other lady i told her i didnt have anymore ones and she said«i gave u back $ 62 you have money i can give u change for her» never never ever ever goin back!

In NYC, sometimes the hole-in-the-wall nail salons are where you get the best pedicures. Not here. It’s dirty and the customer service is terrible. The woman(I think she was the owner) doing my pedicure used a already-used piece of cotton to remove my nail polish(thank goodness it was previously used on a person I know) and when I asked for a fresh piece of cotton to be used, it was changed but I was asked to «forget about it.» Not to mention she yelled at her employees several times and then called people on her cell phone, yelling into the phone each time. She also used the soaking sink(with my feet in it!) to clean her hands/tools. The person I was with didn’t have a great experience either, we had to demand several times for the woman to fix what was done to the pedicure(uneven French tips). One word summary? Ew.
